I spend a good amount of time at my Home Depot (Martinez). My husband talked me into coming to the Concord location to purchase my tomatoes and other veggies for my garden. I must say, the garden selection here blows mine away! So much more! It's big and busy and impersonal. The parking lot is big but cramped. I appreciate my little cozy HD. Went in today to purchase 2 odd light bulbs. I (as well as several others) were in the light bulb section. I tracked down 2 associates who said they would contact someone to help us, no bueno. I then called the store and spoke to someone who paged the electrical department overhead. Still nothing after 1 hr. I gave up and proceeded to check out when a very nice man named John asked if I needed help. He took the time not only to do research on the lightbulb in question but also said that I had found the right one and plugged my lamp in to make sure it worked. Jeez! We stopped into this location of Home Depot looking very specifically for an oil space heater. Unfortunately we did not do our research ahead of time thinking they would have at least one in stock and wandered around the store for probably over five minutes, trying to find someone to ask and then being directed to different parts of the store that may or may not have it. A tablet with a store lookup and map at the front of the store would have be amazing. The store itself smelled and when you walked in the door you were hit the face with plastic hanging from the doorway like it was a meat packing plant. After searching for another five minutes it appeared they didn't have any space heaters in stock (again a system lookup would have been excellent in this instance) so with a quick search, we found a Lowe's down the way that did have them and we left (overall it ended up being a much better experience with them). All in all, after all that we will not be coming back to this Home Depot again. read more

I was picking up some Christmas trees that were stacked way up on the top shelf, and even though it took a little time to get to them, they handled the whole thing with the best attitude. They went above and beyond to help me out zero frustration, nothing but professionalism, and you could tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. Home Depot should be proud to have employees like them. The woman had to finish eating before helping me and when she looked up my order the date was different from the emails I received. I now had 3 different delivery dates for the same order. I asked her to confirm the actual delivery date. She just pointed to her screen and said "my screen shows this...". I pointed to my phone and said "my screen shows this, so how do we confirm the delivery date?" With an attitude she said I would have to call the 800 number and work it out. The staff is friendly and kind. The store is poorly organized and there are a lot of carts blocking the fire lane outside. Tough to maneuver a large pickup truck. The stock, particularly in electrical is a mess. I think the return or after hours stockers just stick stuff anywhere. I pulled out one box and there were 5 different items in there along with only one item that was supposed to be in there. If you have to go to this store, leave yourself some extra time to search for stuff. read more

Hard to find service here. Once we did, the associate was pushy when we explained that all we wanted was to order a washer/dryer set. We had already given the specifics (dimensions/address/instructions..etc) and yet the associate still tried to sell us a washing pan (even though we explained we already have one), or else the delivery wouldn't happen. When the set arrived, they DID NOT follow ANY instructions given a week before hand. The delivery team had no idea what the delivery pan was about, and they said it was not needed. I had clearly stated to give me a COI, to bring plastic wrapping, and speak to the front desk. None of that happened. Extremely disappointed for the whole experience. read more

As many employees walking around the store talking and enjoying their time, it would have been great if anyone could have pulled themselves from conversation just for 3 minutes to answer the "scan the code and an employee will be right over to unlock the cage for you" request that I wanted. All I got from the app was "hang tight. An associate is on the way" and then I received a "thanks for shopping at Home Depot." With a "leave feedback" option button that doesn't work. Hone Depot is truly improving their customer service!!! I have been so impressed with the turn around. I was recently greeted at the door by a young man who asked me what I was looking for. I told him and he offered to bring me to the items! It was stellar service. I asked if he knew where everything was and he said he actually did even though he usually works in the garden center.i wish I could remember his name because he certainly deserves a pat on the back for his service. Absolutely the worst customer service in the Bay Area. You can ask for something to be unlocked and wait an hour on hopes someone will come help you. As a contractor and time is valuable I'd shop at any other Home Depot in the bay to get quicker service. Shopping here generally leaves me frustrated. Staff haven't been taught and most lack any kind of motivation. I needed 15 heavy stepping stones, simple enough. Well, almost an hour and 5 employees later, I had them loaded in the truck and we were headed home. This should have been a 5 minute experience, 10 minutes tops. My new local Home Depot has been nothing but exceptional! We moved to the area last year and needed things for our home, so lots of trips to this store became a regular thing. We moved from the Oakland/Emeryville area with a Home Depot very close to us. That store was ok but the customer service was lacking and the parking lot was always very active. This store is clean, spacious and continuously has good customer service. Every time we visit, usually a staff member will ask if you need help in their respective department. Yesterday was my best experience yet, we have been looking at getting a new washer and dryer for a while now. We looked at the deals and financing offers so I decided to see the models to buy something. Dave in the appliance area was so nice to work with, he acknowledged me right away and took the time to give advice. I showed him the models on their app and he asked me questions like the type of plug we currently had with our dryer. Dave really helped and advised me to get the extended warranty on our new washer because of the amount of laundry we do with our toddler. I felt good about the experience and will come back often. Went in looking for a thermostat unit for my parent's heater and an electric blanket. Upon entering the store I asked a greeter if they had electric blankets and he said that they sold out. I was going to ask about the thermostat unit but he said they were in isle 16 looking at the unit in my hand. They were actually in isle 15. Two young employees were there and I asked about the unit I needed. One of them told me it's too old and they only have newer versions. The other took the manual I was referring to and he found the one I needed. I asked him "so, you guys are all out of electric blankets, right?" He said no! He said he had them in his department and took me to them. They were on sale for $29! I asked him his nance because he was the only one interested in doing his job today. I went to this Home Depot randomly one evening at 9 PM close to closing to try to find a heat lamp. Not only did they have it in stock but what really wowed me was their fantastic customer service. I got assistance from a wonderful employee called Vlad who went above and beyond to not only find one of the last heat lamps left in the store, but also to plug it in to make sure it works. The three employees working at customer checkout also were fantastic. They were helpful and kind! Honestly, a great experience, especially so close to closing! read more

HD has paint, nails and rope in stock. When a specific item ins not in the Concord store but the web site states it is in San Jose. I ordered a chainsaw to be delivered to the Concord store. I believed San Jose to Concord would be a couple of days. When I tracked my order yesterday and today it shows as being in Perris, CA. That is South East of LA. My item has been there for 2 days. It is going to take over a week to be delivered to Concord. Customer service says May 1. The web site lies. Try Amazon. Items will arrive within a few days. read more

Like most Home Depots, this, too was on a large scale. I think it may be larger than my go-to near home. And like most Home Depots, it's really organized. It was a quick run for Hubbers and I. We stopped by to get a house plant and a gift cert for my baby cousin (and wife and kid) because they recently scored their very first home not too far from here. Naturally, there were tons of choices but we were able to narrow it down to what we felt would go well with their new home. It wasn't busy but lots of cashiers (as well as self-checkout kiosks) open, so we were outta there in no time. Great first run. Will be awhile if I were to return given it's not really anywhere near home. Really happy about the convenience, though, this location sure came in handy! read more

I am a HD regular (even a 5 start posted 2/13/2024.) I'm not a complainer. This experience was horrible! DELIVERY and associated services are BAD. Ordered and item and it was delivered on time ... however they delivered someone else's order / wrong item. I called the store only 2 minutes after delivery and while waiting opened an chat on the app. the app was slow and after a total of 3 hours on chat only outcome was ... I should call the store. or return the item and re order. (it is an in stock item. On the phone i eventually got hold of the "delivery manager". The ONLY option was for ME to return the wrong item and then purchase the correct. I ordered delivery because the size of the item is challenging for my 2 seater car. So the following day I drove 40 minutes to the store. Stood in line for 30 minutes. after some level of confusion got that returned and the correct item. 40 min back home. So a ton of time . zero actual options (why wouldn't they deliver the right item and pick up the wrong one??? ) They did return the delivery fee. Wow thanks a lot! read more

In times gone by newspapers reported how stores in Russia had nothing on the shelves to sell. That's Home Depot now. Went there to get specific items and they didn't have them!! Wanted to buy a Brad nail gun which was locked away. Took ages for a rep to come open the cage - then they would not give it to me. Instead they brought it to the checkout area up front where again I was made to wait before I could claim it I had a piece of quarter round and as soon as I tried to scan it a customer care person had to come help me. I told them it was 6' - she took it away came back and put in 6' 3"! Way to stamp out theft there What a pathetic store! read more

This is a review of my experience with online services from Home Depot. I ordered a plunger, and it was sent with no handle for the first time. It's beside the fact that delivery was delayed and took two weeks. Had to return it and get the replacement ordered. The delivery of the new order has been delayed for over a week.
