Cannot praise the service here enough. We stopped for some emergency repairs to our RV and the hardware associate learned our problem and stayed with us until we had the right tool. Then my wife forgot her purse in the store. They contacted us and the manager, Mark, said that he'd UPS her purse. We live 5.5 hrs from the store so he is a life saver. This was not as bad as previous visits, but still is a not-great Home Depot. For starters, there was a real police officer (not security) with a man up against his car at the garden entrance. I parked there thinking this was probably the safest spot (for the moment) in the entire lot. I was shopping for 4 simple items and was super surprised they had all 4. I had everything in my cart and went back to check out in the garden entrance, where I had parked. There was no line. The cashier was efficient (not particularly friendly due to the language barrier). I was in and out in under 10 minutes with the items I wanted. The police officer had departed and 'day laborers' were hanging out in the parking lot, even close to the entrance. Still a creepy place to shop alone. read more

On January 1St I purchased a Samsung Smart stove at 33001 S Dixie Hwy Homestead, FL 33034. I dropped hot water onto the top and I notice spots on the black stove top. Attempted to clean, however spot remained. I contacted Home Depot's corporate office and was advised via email, after 48 hours there was nothing they could do to assist me. I finally pulled one of them aside and he said it "wasn't his area" and that he would page someone. Of course no one ever came. Finally, yet another guy walked by and I flagged him down. He showed me exactly what I wanted, in just a matter of seconds. What's worse is that there were so many employees around, talking & laughing. I just bought a pressure washer from your Florida City, Florida location and it is missing the entire top portion of the assembly including all the nozzles, handle and tool kit. This is the fourth time I have bought something from your South Florida stores that appears to be intact and unopened only to get it home to find parts missing. Home depot was packed after the holidays for sales they had going on. We came here specifically for any Christmas decor they might have had on sale. Well looks like everyone and their mother came out to do the same. Everything worth buying was gone and everything left was broken or just sad looking. After that failed attempt we walked around just to check out some home accessories for upcoming projects that needed to be done. They had some pretty wood flooring and back splash for kitchens. They had a nice selection of light fixtures but nothing that really grabbed me for what I was looking for but still nice. They had good sales on new one or two piece toilets that met EPA criteria. Always a plus in ny book to try and help out the environment. Of course there were all the tools. screws, and other type of things I wouldn't know what to do with. My favorite section has to be the gardening though. They had cute outdoor seating sets, water fixtures and fountains, and of course different plants to hang or for landscaping. They have a good selections for I and outdoor home improvements and upgrades. Take your time when coming in here and come ready for a plan. It may be more helpful otherwise you can wander and get lost in fix up ideas and whatnot. read more

The store is laid out like all the others I've been to and that makes it nice when your trying to find something. Te store has the right amount of staff to handle the needs of the customers. Other stores I've given up trying to find help. This one seemed to have someone working in every department. Interesting concept why do they have it right at this one and not the countless others. On one of my many trips there this last week I needed several boards cut so they would fit in the car. It was super easy to get it done. Other stores it's take hours to get out and when your working on a project you don't want to waste time trying to gather the materials. Pretty decent local Home Depot. It is smaller than other Home Depot's I am used to in Miami. I have bought from this Home Depot several times since I have moved to Homestead and I was just surprised with how small the selection is for certain types of items...especially lighting. I am used to just large amounts of different types of ceiling fans,outdoor lighting and indoor lighting each with different aisles...this Home Depot just doesn't have that kind of selection...that said the service is a lot better. The employees at the store are extremely helpful. I asked them for several different things from lighting to garden to their cleaning products and they were willing to go with me to the section to help me find what I was looking for and answer my questions. Their customer service/returns department is also a lot friendlier than other Home Depot stores. It almost feels like I am buying from a local mom and pop hardware store when I come here. Horrible customer service. Order Christmas lights that never came after I waited home all day no call, no delivery. Went to store to get them that afternoon and said lights hadn't come back, called the next morning to confirm lights were already at store which customer department confirmed. I arrived to no lights everyone lost, apparently driver never returned them. I spoke to Henry the assistant manager who said they will try to locate them or get from another store and he would personally give me a call back. Came here at 7:30PM they had a sign up at the entrance that said "Our rerun system is down no returns available" when I went in I asked the girl and she said that was from this morning they are up now I told her you guys should remove the sign and she said it's actually less work keeping it up I finished my return and went on to looking for what I needed. I needed help in the plumbing section and there was NOT AN EMPLOYEE IN SIGHT. 2 other customers and myself were walking together looking for employees to help us. This is my neighborhood Home Depot, my go-to supply store for products to do my Home Improvement projects. They are very reliable and they are well stocked and organized. I have been to this store dozens of times I the last eight years I have lived in Homestead. In 2012, we did a huge remodel of our house due to Chinese Drywall. I practically bought 90% of the supplies right at this store. It was a great experience, the staff was helpful and made it low stress for me. My Travertine floors, trimming, baseboards, light fixtures, Ring Doorbell, door locks, wood fence, and much more came from this store! I've also had great experiences in returns and even exchanges without a receipt. I just represented my honest case and situation and I was taken care of to the best of their ability. I came into Home Depot on 07/01 around 9:00 EDT. The purpose was because I ran out of tile for my bathroom tile. The original tile I purchased was not from Home Depot, and the tile place said my tile was back ordered 12 weeks. So I decided to try to match my tile at Home Depot. I asked a gentleman Mark to help me match my tile, and he even spoke to my contractor on the phone on my behalf to make sure I got what I needed. I really appreciated it because I was so confused and stressed. He definitely took the time out to help me and I could tell he was busy( he was sweating), but he didn't rush me and made me feel heard. When I got to the register the tile I wanted said it was out of stock and no where in the state had the tile. I was on the verge of tears because Mark and I looked in the system and it was in stock. But the sales person CJH2M3I (she had a name tag but I forgot her name so I'm finding her work id on my invoice) remained calm walked back to the tile spot with me to find it and scan it. I really appreciated that both sales associates helped me and took their time with me. Home projects can be very stressful and with everything back ordered it can cause a project to go downhill pretty fast. I am so thankful this home depot had what I needed! Take the trip and go to the cutler bay location. Not once or twice but EVERY time I need help no one is around. And the one or two people That are there are hiding. 2 people at each register in customer service. FOR WHAT!? For some reason I like Home Depot better than all other hardware supply stores. I just recently took my son to one of their free kids workshops. This is completely cool that they have such a thing. The Florida City Home Depot is smaller than the one in my hometown but they have a good selection of healthy plants in the garden center. Been here several times while we are doing RV maintenance and I've found the items I needed. (Other than I wish they carried the Smart Tiles at this location.) My only negative comments are I am not comfortable being approached by the day laborers who wait in the parking lot, hoping to pick up work. I've been asked twice if I need help with a project. I witnessed an older gentleman ask an older lady who was coming out of the store today if she needed any help. She declined and he was respectful. No...just no. The only good thing about this Home Depot is the only good thing about any Home Depot: the wide variety of products they hold and the organized manner which they're set up in the store. The worst part? THE SERVICE. Let's be real, 85% of people who come into Home Depot need help, either because they need directions or need assistance on what to buy. Today I walked in needing a wet saw. Upon walking in, rather than being greeted, I see two employees chewing gum, sitting on their phones, chatting with each other. These employees did not look willing to help me so I walked on by and found another employee to help me. He didn't even know something called a wet saw existed, until he googled it and found out I was, in fact, not lying. He told me he wasn't sure where they were located, so I led him to the saws, told him the project I'm doing, and asked which one to get. Now here's the thing- I don't expect EVERY Home Depot employee to be expert handypeople. However, there SHOULD be employees designated to each section of the store, at least somewhat knowledgeable about the products and what they do. What SHOULD have happened was that the employee should have said "sorry, this is not my department, let me hand you over to the person's it is!" and direct me to that employee. However, apparently that's not how the store is set up. So I just shooed that guy away, walked across the store (because there were no employees close by...of course) and the two other people didn't know either. THIS IS PRECISELY WHY I SHOP ONLINE. WHY LEAVE THE HOUSE WHEN THE EMPLOYEES ARE USELESS ANYWAY??? Long story short: HAVE EMPLOYEES AROUND...AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS. Saved the day! Who's the Concrete Barbie of Key Largo? I am! Being that this is the closest location to the Keys, I decided to get my Reno-motivated tail over here to tackle on my most daunting tasks. It's rare to see two openly enthusiastic employees who are actually happy to help. Not only did they both help me, Maria followed me to all the aisles I needed gear from in order to secure that my projects would actually be possible. Plus, it's not that easy to come back north from Key Largo just because you forgot something. She gave me advice and options- I was very content with the customer service I received. The only reason I knocked a star is because I literally slipped and almost broke my tail due to flooding in the front. I broke my sandal in the process but I'm glad only like two people saw me almost eat my teeth. Whoever manages this property should try to look into a less slippery entrance. Had a very bad experience after purchasing the wrong Kitchen-aid stove. The delivery folks (HD uses third party companies and drivers and we did not know that) told us we had 30 days to change our mind when we told we wanted them to take back the stove because it was the wrong one. We did not want the fully digital one but rather the one with the knobs. ( we are elderly and cannot handle digital very well) Both stoves were the same price so no loss for HD. The appliance department folks at HD FL City were very rude and when I asked to speak to the manager the man said that "Tina" would call me back. He took my name and number and she never called back. We have been doing business with HD for over 40 years but NEVER will we do any business that involves the HD in Florida City. Those folks Tina included have no idea what "decent customer service" is. We will travel to the Marathon HD and do our buying there. So BEWARE of buying anything from the Florida City HD. Their staff is HORRIBLE!!!! They lie and they don't care. read more

Be ware this store doesn't care about life safety issues. They do have a theft problem because this is Florida City. A visit here will be accompanied by panhandlers begging for bus fare etc. But that doesn't excuse their blocking of fire alarm pull stations at both front main exits. Blocked or partially blocked exits at the electrical panels , and general disregard for life safety. I blogged them one other time and a manager called me. I promised him I would visit as soon as I could. He told me to find one of his assistants if I couldn't find him . I found one on my last visit and explained my concerns. He seemed bored with my presence. I do not shop at this home Depot. Their lack of concern forces me to go to the Lowe's down the street where I never see a fire violation. If you look at the blogs here you will see that the thieves in homestead have no problem burning a store down with people in the store. The crowd in this store on Black Friday shows that the area could use that other store that used to be on SW 288. I don't feel safe in this store and neither should you. read more

I had Home Depot give me an estimate on a fencing project, and the company assigned a subcontractor named Fence City to do the work. Not only was the estimate outrageous, but Fence City refused to give me any breakdown as to how it reached such an exorbitant price. If Fence City can't explain how it arrived at the price it is charging me, then how can I justify paying it? I have never seen anything like it, and naturally took my business elsewhere. read more
