Home Depot is my favorite home improvement chain. I even own Home Depot stock! So, my experience had to be terrible to give this location 1 star. In short: I placed an online order for two items that were both shown as being in stock. Got to the store, only one item was actually there. So I cancelled the online order and bought the item they had. Simple, right? Yes, except for one thing: getting my money back for the online order. That took over 3 months, more calls to this location and corporate Home Depot than I can count, and finally I had to file a BBB complaint against corporate HD. As soon as someone with a brain saw my complaint, they immediately refunded my money. But I can't get back the time I wasted, and I really don't appreciate the numerous times when I called this location, had someone tell me they'd look in to it and call me back quickly, and then didn't - ever. We are doing a complete update on our townhome here in Ft Collins and frequented the Home Depot off Mulberry street. Honestly, best customer service ever. We have never been to a better store than this particular location. Every time we purchased paint and a load of other items, we got great help from all of the employees we encountered. We were referred to Francisco Mendoza, a contractor affiliated with Home Depot to install our butcher block counter top and we hired him additionally to replace the windows as well. This gentleman was incredibly honest and his crew were very hardworking and accurate. They did an unbelievable job for us-even replacing an installed window that was defective after installed. Highly recommend this contractor and this particular Home Depot store. read more

I got 3 keys made from the new minute key machine and none of them work. When I called to see if they still have a human that can make a key, the phone rang for over 2 minutes before a person answered. Rented a Home Depot van for moving. The van was filthy! The driver's side, passenger side and the cargo area were covered in mud and dog hair, plus there were pieces of wood trim still in the van! The employee asked if we wanted damage protection and we told him we did not because our insurance covers us on any vehicle we rent, but the creep charged us anyway and then lied about it. Do not rent a vehicle from this place. It was overpriced for a muddy van and underhanded charges. read more

Lack of enthusiastic responses, didn't have receipt due to fire camping at horsetooth, but Sam in service said bring your CC to prove purchase for successful return and Haley kept rolling her eyes cause didn't have receipt and got mad at my son and daughter singing Britney Spears in line. Haley told me she was really busy and was supposed to leave 15 minutes ago and wasn't suppose to be here. Go to south Fort Collins instead Home Depot instead and ask for Homer. read more

just now NEW Honestly, I don't even know where to start. Our carpet buying experience was the most stressful home renovation project we've had and we've done many. We had our measurement scheduled on Oct. 14. I went into the store a day or two before to pick out samples, but I had a good idea of what I wanted so I wasn't stressed that the measure was coming up. I was greeted with rude remarks from the carpet sales that I needed to order samples as they weren't in store anymore. I asked if the other HD store in town had them, but was told she had no idea. I ended up asking if I could take a board home and ordered some samples, but felt very much like it was an inconvenience for the store employee. The measurement person came on Oct. 14 and was friendly. I received a text message that afternoon with all of the details and said we could place our order via the text. Since we had installed carpet in our newly finished basement less than a year prior, I didn't hesitate in placing a nearly $8k order for carpet for our entire upstairs. I placed the order and waited for my email receipt (the text website link said I would receive the email confirmation shortly). Hours went by and no email. I called my bank and they said they didn't see anything from HD on their end, but said to give it until Monday since it was a Saturday. Monday the 16th came and I started calling my bank and HD. I was hung up on MANY times by HD. My bank said they saw nothing from HD on their end. After speaking to at least a half dozen HD employees and spending over 8 hours between my bank and HD, I finally spoke with a representative that informed me HD had a new system and she was going to have to manually recreate my order to get it to process correctly. It took her nearly an hour to complete this. Finally I received email confirmation of our order and thought that was the end of our drama. Oh how I was wrong. A few days later I received a call from a nice lady at HOM Solutions wanting to go over the details of our project. She said there was a glitch on HD's side so she couldn't schedule install, but she old reach out to Megan from HD and get it squared away. The rest of the week passed and no call from anyone. I spoke with HOM Solutions the following week and she said she was STILL waiting on a call from Megan to get it squared away. She provided me with Megan's extension and asked if I wanted to personally reach out. I said yes and thanked her. I called Megan but was instead greeted rather rudely by Maria instead. I explained the situation and she told me she would look into it and give me a call. I believe this was Thursday, Oct 26. When 24 hours had passed with no phone call, I called again. Maria asked for my name, said "Ohhhhhhh B****** C*******! Yeah, you're on our list done worry!" She had the most sarcastic and rude tone I've heard. I explained I needed this dealt with and needed to speak to someone. She told me someone would call me. Go figure, she didn't. The following week I reached out to HOM solutions again and was told she would keep trying HD. At this point I was told they were unable to locate my carpet. After speaking with HOM Solutions again as well as HD, I basically got nowhere. Finally on Nov 2, I left work early to go into the store. I spoke with Francie who assured me she would look into the issue. Thankfully she did. They were able to see on Nov 3 that our carpet was delivered to the store instead of the warehouse. HOM solutions called very late on Friday afternoon and asked if we could install the next Monday morning. Unfortunately we were not home that day so it wouldn't work for us. I asked if I could go see the carpet at HD to ensure it was the correct carpet. HD was annoyed, but they did pull the carpet for us to see and, thankfully, it was what we had ordered. After giving a handful of dates that we were available to install, HOM Solutions reluctantly agreed to Monday, Nov 13. At 9:20 AM, I received a phone call from Jose our installer who let me know he was at HD, but they couldn't find our carpet. He said he would come start the removal of the old carpet, but would have to go back to get the carpet. I received a call from HOM Solutions who told me the same thing. I asked her to confirm that the carpet was still at the store. She said it was and that her manager was on the phone with them. She said she asked if HD could deliver the carpet since they were the ones who didn't have it ready for pickup. Apparently they said no because a few hours after arrival, Jose had to leave and drive all the way back to Fort Collins to get the carpet, taking up nearly two hours of his time. Jose arrived with himself and one other person. The job was over 1200sq ft - 4 bedrooms, 6 closets, a landing area and a full staircase. Eventually a female showed up to assist. She explained the reasoning for the letter I received and it made perfect sense. Step up, HD and listen to your customers. And at the same time promote that rep. Never again! In preparation for new tenants, we purchased a kitchen appliance bundle and included installation in the purchase. When the delivery crew arrived, they quickly dropped off the boxes and asked us to "sign off". When I mentioned the installation, we were rudely told by the driver that wasn't on his schedule and we would have to call someone else to schedule. We had to ask for them to at least get the appliances out of the boxes so we could inspect before signing. The first number I called led to a second number. I was then told if I contacted GE with the model and serial numbers I could set up a time for them to install. Instead, I hired an experienced installer and there were several parts missing! Today, I get an email from Home Depot saying now that I had my appliances delivered and installed, would I like to take a survey!! If you're going to make mistakes (and we all do), at least don't be rude and try to make it right! read more

I've not had great experiences with Home Depot. I found stakes individually priced on shelf label and loose. Didn't see barcode, so photographed shelf label. When I got to register they said they can't sell them that way. I took manager over to shelf which had a couple loose stakes and shelf label. Still couldn't ring up sale. When I had a greenhouse/garden center if I couldn't ring something up as cheap as a couple of stakes, I would have told the customer they were on the house--but I actually had a miscellaneous category just for this purpose. I bought a register vent on a different trip because I was in store for a job and figured I'd save a trip by just getting it at HD. Turned out I didn't need it after all, I returned, with receipt and was informed that they wouldn't put refund on original card but only issue a store credit. I go months between trips to HD, so a "store card" doesn't interest me. I took store credit and bought a piece of lumber to use it up--common size I use often. I loved Connecticut and California where Lowe's and HD are usually across the street from each other. Here in Colorado it is usually miles between the competitors. read more

Have had the most ridiculous experience with Home Depot just trying to get a rug I ordered for my office at work. Ordered a 6x9 rug....when I went to pick it up, I was handed a small throw rug....they'd delivered the wrong rug. Had to reorder. Was delayed again due to "label being unreadable". Was told it had shipped to Fort Collins...nope! It's been delayed THREE times now and when I contacted Customer Service for tracking, they told me it was delivered at the Fort Collins Home Depot. Called the store...they said it was still in Johnstown!! Good lord....I can't believe the runaround I've gotten just trying to get in one rug. This has been incredibly irritating and after this I will never order anything from Home Depot or shop in their store. Shop at Lowes....never had a bad experience there. read more

Don't trust the online inventory. Ordered an evaporative cooler, choosing one with great reviews, and was listed as "one in stock" at this Home Depot. Not wanting to drive across town to find that someone else had bought it, I ordered it online for pickup. Home Depot of course charged my card. A couple hours later, we headed to Home Depot to pick it up. We were two blocks away from the store when they called us to tell us that the product we ordered and paid was a bad SKU. We were told to go to customer service where we could get some advice on available units. Even though I had researched everything else they had in stock, I went to customer service to follow up. I was summarily ignored. One rep looked directly at me as I approached, then had to urgently move a flatbed out to the door. One very nice employee did try to help, even though it was not her department. But after she was gone for over 15 minutes I finally just ordered the unit I originally wanted from Amazon, for $10 less than what I paid Home Depot. In the mean time, Home Depot has "graciously" offered to refund my money... in 3-5 business days. Nice racket... sell me something you don't have, then sit on my money for a week. I generally like to patronize local business for transactions I can... otherwise we won't have them for long. In this case it's clear that inventory shown on the Home Depot site cannot be trusted. This is the second time in the last few months I have experienced this problem (last time it was shelf brackets). read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ONLINE from this store! I purchased a 2700.00 door online from this store. The door never arrived! I received a notification from the delivery service that the door was on its way in 45 mins. I was home. A while later I received a notice that the door was delivered successfully. I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE DOOR! I called Home Depot and they said it was out of their hands and to contact the delivery service. They barely tell you WHO the delivery service is, let alone how to contact them. I still have not gotten ahold of a live person at the delivery service. I then went in to speak to the manager ADAM. He basically said it was out of his hands and walked away. We paid for a door we do not have and Home Depot's customer service is horrendous. We have NO IDEA where the door has ended up! Every time I have been to this store, the associates are so accommodating and helpful. Today, Ben went out of his way to show me where I could find a boot tray. He was very friendly, helpful and efficient. He just dropped what he was doing and walked me clear to the other side of the store to show me where to find what I needed. I went into Home Depot to get items that I needed for my new house. I walked by at least 3 groups of workers just standing around talking. I had one walk by me and didn't even ask me if I was finding everything ok. Then I went up to one of the workers to ask for help with window well coverings and a ladder for the window well. He stands there and says there in isle 20. He didn't even offer to help me when I just told him I needed help. read more

This Home Depot is seriously the best one I have ever been too. The associates go out of their way to approach you to see what you need and then go above and beyond to help you. They are friendly and knowledgeable and give advice on your projects or the product you are purchasing before you even have to ask. I have especially found the paint counter and the lumber section to be very helpful. Even when I have had big lumber orders to be cut I have found them to be more than willing. Mike especially went out of his way, the week before Black Friday when he could hardly get to the saw because of a huge delivery that filled the department, to get my large order of wood cut for me. Having been a customer at many other hardware stores in different parts of the country I have to share what a gem this store is. (This review was intended for the store on JFK. Oops.) read more

I really don't like going into Home Depot anymore than I have to. I am not a Bob the Builder kind of guy so I am often lost when trying to find something. It doesn't help that it seems to be something assumed with the people at Home Depot that you know what you are looking for and where to go to retrieve it. I don't like looking for staff that may be confined to their departments and are unable to leave to point out what aisle the merchandise you want is. The few staff that isn't confined to a department is a split in being effective at this store( and I am sure at plenty of other Home Depots). Sometimes they will lead you down and point out just what you need. Other times they point you down the wrong aisle and you are back at square one. Wandering around again. True Story: I was shopping at a store and came across two nuns that were trying to find an item. An associate told them to go clear across the store for it. When they hit a dead end they asked another associate and they had to go all the way back to where they were because the item was really and truly over there. One nun said to the other, 'Well sister we have been given a bum steer.' Quite frustrated with the wild goose chase they were on. That is often how I feel when I go into Home Depot and even though I desperately try to avoid getting a 'bum steer' it truly seems unavoidable. I know other customers have the same frustration as I do and Home Depot even made an announcement to the media that they were going to try to improve that image and have more available staff to help customers with merchandise. That was of course a year or so before they announced they were going to do considerable layoffs. So here we are led back to a bum steer again. (Sigh) read more

The place is ultra clean, well staffed and in my walk around to find what I wanted was approached at least 6 times to see if I needed an additional assistance. So throw out the old old reviews and come on in to the new Home Depot Charley Says! And Look at the close out table - interesting buys at very cheap prices! I got a front door lock that was 130 buck in the store and was 32 buck on the close out table!! Too Cool! read more

Ugh, Home Poopo, I hate you. There are 52 employees hanging around in bright orange vests but not a single one to provide general courteous customer service. You would think with all these employees there would be at least one working at a check out station right? Heck no, not here, self check out only, better hope there's a bar code that works. I suppose there are other options like putting the item back or stealing it but we won't go into all that right now. When I finally did get customer assistance it was from I Don't Know Girl. Seriously, to every question I asked, the answer was I don't know. No problem solving skills whatsoever! Hey these boxes for the fridge filters are completely trashed. Come on the boxes were so destroyed that they had an entire roll of transparent tape just wrapped around every which way. There were only two of the filters I needed, one of them I found on the floor all totally grimy! This section of the store was in total disarray. I dislike disarray. I bought the one filter that was unopened and unexpired but now I have to make another stop to buy the others. Grr, Home Poopo! read more

This HD is decently stocked and the staff is friendly. Clean floors,the layout is open and the signage is better than most big box stores. Getting out of the parking lot is weird - if you're heading south you don't have any choice but to use the clogged artery of an exit at the streetlight that is filled with people making a left. They need to take care of the increasing bum population outside and at the street light. Every time I come there's another vagrant loitering in the middle of the street wacked out of his mind. read more

if I could give no stars I would. We are now in our second week of waiting for a product that not only was paid for but was PROMISE on 1/7/19. Then we were PROMISE and update on 1/9/19. No phone call from manager. Not only is the customer service people awful they are put in positions that they can not handle. The lack of this promise product has set back the installation of a handicap shower for my disabled husband. We made it clear to Home Depot this was our one and only bathroom!!! In November of 2018 their third party company delivered a dented refrigerator! When a new one arrive AFTER Thanksgiving they refused to hook up ice maker. We should have learn from that experience how they treat their customers! read more

I own a business and have spent thousands of dollars in the Home Depot Fort Collins North store. That will no longer be happening after today. Extremely rude customer service. I had this experience a couple months ago, spoke to a manager that did not do anything to remedy the situation and was rude. I have had helpful interactions with employees in the store so we continued to do business at this store. After today, we will not be doing any business with Home Depot. I have several accounts with them all of which I just closed. I have not had a single positive interaction with a manager in the rental, front end, or irrigation department. Nor have I had a positive interaction with the general manager on duty who I have attempted to reach several times. Monday we were to have carpet installed in the den, all bedrooms including vanity/bathroom area & closets. Remind you that my husband & I had to disassemble & move everything into the garage & basement & disconnect all cables - we are not young chickens. Installers were supplied the wrong diagrams, therefore the work could not be done. I called Tara our "Flooring Specialist" LOL at Home Depot who took our initial order, who transferred me to Jessica "special orders" something-or-other. Thank you to the 1st crew & Cythia with Home Solutions for minimizing the problem & rescheduling another installation date. Home Depot never reached out to communicate directly with me & relied on Home Solutions to play mediator. Well, installation was rescheduled for Wednesday. Carpet was torn out of all the rooms. Due to a flawed carpet, project was not completed. Thank you again to Home Solutions 2nd installing crew & Cythia, who had to play mediator. Again, no one reached out from Home Depot. I called & talked to the "Manager-on-Duty" who was going to look into it. Well, Jessica finally called back. Apparently she was out-of-town. It was determined, after a lot of run-around, another roll of carpet was to be ordered & expedited. Thursday is coming to an end & I've left a message with Jessica. No call from Home Depot. Everyone is probably out to lunch for the day. Another day of no excess to the master bathroom & sleeping on the floor. Customer Service at Home Depot is deplorable. Next time Lowes. read more

Worst customer service and business ethics that I have ever experienced. We had ordered and paid for our carpet installation over 6 weeks ago, took day off work on the day of and moved all our furniture the night before. We got a call on the day of , that the carpet was damaged and that we would be able to get it in for 2 weeks. Two weeks later, we were again called on the day off (after we had taken off work to be at home) that installation would not happen because the carpet we picked was not suitable for our curved stairway. There is Zero communication between Home Depot to the carpet installer and we were offered no apologies or compensation. Would strongly urge people to not waste their time ,energy or money at this Home Depot and find other more reliable options in this town. read more

Don't bother coming here for projects or contractor services. I special ordered an evap cooler and was told by 3 seperate employees that their contractor could install the item including by the contract manager Ingrid. So after a week of being dodged by both the store and the contractor I called the store that's on the south side of town only to find out that no the contractor can't install it. The unit arrived at the store prior to us figuring this out. Well the unit needed to be installed within a 12 days and due to bad store management and training i had to go find my own contractor. The manager did "gift" us with $100 gift card for the error. The unit sat at the store for a week until my installer could get to it. Finally the day came to install the unit so I headed over to pick up the unit remember its been there for a week and was a special order, and upon getting it outside via forklift I decided to inspect the unit because it was not in its orginal box. The unit had major damage on 3 out of 4 sides so much so that the panels were pushed in and warped so badly they had pulled away from the frame. Upon noticing the damage I got upset and stated that I would not accept the unit in that condition and was yelled at by the employee that I didn't have to take it and due to the rude employee I asked for the manager. It took nearly 40 minutes to get the item refunded, the manager failed to understand that I had to pay the contractor regardless because he was onsite waiting for the unit so there went $200, to which the manager thought that the contractor shouldn't charge me....I'm sorry you do understand having to pay people when they show up and are ready to work, but you don't have what they need to do the job right? I ended up having to do the one thing I didn't want to do which was to repair the unit that was already on my home for an additional $260. I returned the $100 gift card at that time because I didn't want the manager thinking that I had already received compensation for my "issues." After speaking with the manager over several calls I offered to buy a new unit at full price, but asked that they pay for the install, which at this point was up to $350 due to the fact that the contractor would need to pick up and verify the unit was in good order. The manager Cassie felt that was ridiculous and offered $250. Look, I'm out $460 and it is completely Home Depots fault, yet in my orginal offer all I asked for was that you pay for the install you screwed up because you didn't check the merchandise prior to trying to sell it to a customer...tell me how that's my fault on a special order, that sat in store for over a week unboxed and your telling me no one noticed it was damaged really? I called corporate to let them know just how piss poor this stores manager is and how unreasonable she was being remember I had returned the original $100 gift card, so really that offer was $150 for the $460 I lost, and apparently corporate thought from having spoken to her that she told them that I wanted a free unit and install....no I just want the install done which was not done because your company screwed up twice not once but twice. Since I had to pay for an install that never happened because your store can't check merchandise for damage I was willing to pay full price for the unit, I just don't feel like being bent over by your store. Go elsewhere I know I will not be shopping here again and this manager caused this store a $5000 flooring job good work sweetie hope you enjoy the fact that you can't do math. Resolutons department update as on 5/17/16 which is the following "$250 is the most we are willing to offer" so really no one can do the math that $250 is not equal to $460 ridiculous. read more

I have bought several appliances with Home Depot in the last year. I got excellent and very patient service from the employees in the appliance department. Week before Thanksgiving our 6 month old GE range died. Not Home Depot fault. Four days before Christmas I was still waiting for GE to find parts and I was not happy. I called Home Depot and talked with LeeAnn in customer service. Home Depot really stepped up and I was able to cook a Christmas meal for family.
