I visited Home Depot 13400 Market St Houston, TX 77015, and was disappointed with the customer service. The store was full of employees walking around, yet no one asked if I needed help. It seemed like when employees saw customers coming, they avoided eye contact or walked the other way to avoid assisting. I asked two different employees for help. I was looking for cabinet fasteners, and one employee simply pointed toward aisle 16. When I asked where exactly in the aisle they were located, she vaguely replied, "over there." Later, I asked another employee about outdoor outlet covers. He told me the aisle location, but when I asked for help finding the specific type I needed, he ignored me, walked away, and said he was busy with someone else. I then noticed him walk to the back of the store and disappear. Customer service and basic assistance should not be this difficult, especially in a store with plenty of employees present. read more

Went there twice today to get window blinds. Trying to find an employee to get one trimmed revealed nothing but laziness and apathy. One employee (Ruben) laughed and said he didn't know how and hadn't learned so he wouldn't have to do it. I guess he thinks this is funny. I'd fire him on the spot as that's a lousy attitude to exhibit to customers. Maybe it was just that department, but I get better service at Lowe's. Finally, another employee (Faith) came and did an efficient job with courtesy. I guess it's hard to get good help. read more

This is such a terrible store. Panhandlers in the parking lot begging for money, people begging you to buy tamales or banana bread, not being able to park because of all the sidewalk tents and yard sales going on in the parking lot. I came for carpet, it took about 30 minutes for someone to show up to help me. When they finally did show up, they took the sample (from their sample wall) and compared it to every roll (even the rolls that were different colors!) Then said they didn't have enough when she finally found it. I asked if she could sell me a different carpet for the same price (10 cent per sqft difference) and she laughed and said no, then suggested that I try their store on Westheimer on the other side of town. If Lowe's was any better, I'd go there. I guess I'll just order from another retailer online. Avoid this store, it sucks. read more

They only give you a full refund if returned with in 24 hours yet tell you to wait 48 for the refrigerator to begin cooling. Horrible management and customer service, 1 star is a gift since it will not let you post with 0 stars. If I can save one person from a shit experience with Home Depot I will. I purchased 2 vent ridge caps. The only store that had it was 2 hours from me. I called the store to verify they had the correct items sitting in front of them. I told the employee the ridge caps are brown with a yellow stripe and 20" wide. They said yes, we're sitting here looking at them. I drove the 2 hours and they immediately brought out 2 galvanized caps that are 11 7/8" wide. I spoke to the manager and he said "oh, sorry." I can see why the employees don't care. read more

Long story short, after looking thoroughly for a part I needed, I found it really really high up in the isles. Like 12 ft high. So I asked an employee nicely for help (or if he could send someone to help me) given I'm 6 months pregnant and didn't want to risk falling. He literally said "everyone's at lunch and I'm busy helping someone at plumbing" I stood there expecting a "but I'll tell someone" or something but he literally just said "sorry" and walked away , So I had to go grab the high ladder and climb up to grab it myself. Excellent customer service by Emmet. He helped my mom and I choose the correct amount of ceramic tile, grout, and mortar we needed for a remodel project. Even though my mom doesn't speak much English or understands cultural norms, Emmet was patient, polite, and professional with the entire process all the way to check out. While walking to the check out counter together, he also moved a large object out of the way so my mom could pass through with her handicap cart. Sometimes it's the small gestures that makes a big difference. I generally have a easier time finding help at Home Depot too. I usually don't have to walk around or wait as much when I'm here. When I ask questions, the staff is usually willing to assist and actually care to help. This is my go-to home improvement store! TIP: -If a contractor is asking you to buy material for a project, sometimes they ask for too much on purpose so they can pocket the rest of the material. I purchased some lumber today and as I was heading for my truck a young man named Johnathon offered to help me with a carry out. I accepted his offer. He was friendly and did all the loading. He mentioned I could get splinters. I thought I had cash in my wallet for a tip but I was mistaken. I apologized to him and he said a tip wasn't necessary. Just came in to make a key really quick. The key station was unnamed so I asked a cashier to page someone to the station. Not sure why they haven't put a machine in place of the manually operated key fabrication equipment.... about five minutes later another associate asks me if I need a key. She has walked by me already and was passing by again and assisting someone else. This is definitely not the place to have a key made for sure if you are expecting quick service. Once she did assist me she made the keys quickly, but when I got to the lock it was the wrong blank key used to make the copy!!! read more

Horrible customer service from Sayda in the online order pick up counter. After standing there for 15 mins with a line just increasing she never once acknowledged anyone. She took her time to assist a guy that needed help placing an order. After 15 mins I ask if this the line for online order pick up she looked up and just said yes. Thankfully Lynn showed up, acknowledged us, told the guy she was helping to step aside while she quickly gave me the item I came to pick up. My process took not even two minutes, she also apologized for the wait which she only saw me wait 5 minutes not the 20. Please remove Sayda from interacting with customers, she does not seem happy to be there and could care less on helping customers that are in the correct line to actually do the simple process of just picking up theirs order. You need more Lynns in your store, promote this lady!! read more

This review isn't for this particular store, but it's for the company as a whole. I ordered a Rheem hot water heater 2 weeks ago from the HD app, paid and thought all was going to be ok. Well, when the water heater was delivered my wife opened the box as I was at work, and it was heavily damaged. The bottom of the water heater was all dented and smashed up sitting at at angle as it wouldn't sit straight up, the upper half the same, it was delivered by fedex. Anyways, I immediately called their 800 number and filed a complaint and asked that they please pick it up and deliver another. That was 2 weeks ago, and have yet to hear anything back from them. How is it that a company like this lets this happen? I will honestly never step foot in another one of their stores again, they straight up suck. This says a lot read more

Lumber service is terrible here. I have issues multiple times but today was definitely the worst. I waited by the lumber cutting department for 20mins and still couldn't get anyone to operate the saw. Everyone I saw said that they could not operate the saw and they would get someone to assist but never happened. This is the WORST Home Depot I have ever visited and with my father being a master carpenter please believe I have visited plenty of hardware stores. Customer Service is a joke. I couldn't get any assistance in the mower section even though I requested it twice and after 20 minutes I gave up. Then I head over to get a AC filter however the shelve is empty where my size should be. The young man tells me he will have to check in the back. I advise him there is a box on one of the shelves that was clearly marked. Ugh. So now I have to wait for him to fetch a ladder and roll it to the isle and pull down the box. Girls were standing at the service desk adjacent to the department and no one offered assistance nor greeted me. I approached them, still no greeting or acknowledgement and asked for assistance. One picked up the phone and made an announcement without saying anything and the other two who were free, stood there with their arms folded across their chests. 6 minutes later, still no help. I left the store and will not return I will recommend that you avoid this place, folks. Disgraceful. read more

I was in your store #569, 13400 Market Street, Houston Texas 77015, yesterday, September 19th. I was there to make 2 purchases, 1 wet/dry vacuum for personal use and a Milwaukee 1/2'" impact driver for work. The vacuum was easy to locate and retrieve. The impact turned into a whole other issue. Was able to locate it no problem, however it was locked to a cable and would require the assistance of an associate to retrieve and purchase. Since there was no one working in the tool area I had to step to the end of the aisle and request assistance from one passing by. They readily heard my request and went to locate the "tool associate". Within a few moments I even heard a page go out for the "tool associate". I waited patiently for the "tool associate" to show up and release the tool I needed to purchase and be on my way. 3 minutes, 5 minutes....no "tool associate". I then reached out to another associate, they were easy to find since they were mostly standing around and made a second request. Again willing to go locate a "tool associate" and heard a page again for the "tool Associate".....more time goes by.....3 more pages for the "tool associate"....5 pages in total over a 20 minuet period...NO ONE SHOWED UP SO I COULD BUY THE $180 IMPACT WRENCH AND LEAVE. NOT EVEN A MANGER OR ASSISTANT MANAGER OR MANAGER IN TRAINING OR SUPERVISOR AND AN INDIVIDUAL THAT COULD OPEN, UNLOCK, RELEASE TO TOOL I NEED TO BUY. So I left. My disappointment is obvious, but not only with the fact that I could not buy the tool I needed that you had in stock and available but that NO ONE cared enough to come fix the problem. The management in that store should of heard the 5 PAGES that went out over the PA system and responded in some manner because apparently there was a problem in the tool area. Just because the store was empty of customers due to the severe weather we experienced and there were more associates in the store than customers does not mean the one customer that was in the store was not important. I will make every effort to avoid that store, I will make every effort to employ "the rule of 20".....if you don't know what that is.....if you have a good experience somewhere, you might tell 3 or 4 of your acquaintances....if you have a bad experience, you will tell 20. I am a multi family property owner. In my experience the customer service at Home Depot is very poor. I have many specific examples but a systemic problem they have is the customer service reps answer outside calls as well as wait on customers in the store. A rep will begin to work with me then stop answer the outside call and put helping me on hold. That is the worst plan for customer service. I do thousands of dollars of business with them every month but I'm going to try to find other places to do business with. read more

Both my wife and I frequent hardware stores often. We walked in to return something and also to buy a few things. As we walked around the store we were greeted by Mr. Jon by the return counter. He was friendly, pleasant and warm. It's good to see people care and also appreciate others considering it seems like we have to pull teeth and beg assoociates to help whenever I'm at a home depot. However, as we were browsing through the paint department, we encountered Ms. Marilyn. She was such a sweetheart. She seemed loving, endearing and also genuinely cares to help. The stain we were looking for were $36 average. She not only directed us to three buckets that were better and on sale for $7 a gallon but also helped us color match to the two different stains we chose. This after another associate told us it can't be done all the while giving us a lame excuse. I know his name but I'm using restrains to use it on here because I don't wanna cast a negative light on him. Going back to Ms. Marilyn . She had impeccable customer service skills, genuinely helped us out, showed immense knowledge of her department and products (paint). I wish I could have tipped her or could have shown her gratitude in some other way. Both my wife and I walked away mesmerized and enamored by her service. She definitely deserves a raise, a leadership role and also can take ownership and show her fellow associates and partners how to provide service and go above and beyond for their customers and patrons. Hats off to Ms. Marilyn and I hope management in this location shows her appreciation somehow because we definitely appreciate her. Thank You! She made our trip to this location memorable for the first time despite the fact that we have been there on many occasions. read more

If I could give this store a negative on the stars I would. On more than one occasion we have come to this Home Depot for convenience but never again. The lack of customer service is unbelievable and the staff is so rude anytime you ask a question you feel like you are bothering them and that's even when you are able to find someone. Half the time you have to walk the entire store to ask for help then get directed back to your area and they are going to send someone to you and your still waiting.
