I swear I posted a 5-star review at this Home Depot store on Westheimer and Dunvale. Oh well, it's been discounted now. I used to praise how well organized and friendly service they provided few years ago. Not sure what changed. One recent shopping experience got me going last summer. I ordered a bathroom fixture online. It said I had until July 10 to pick up or it will get canceled. On July 3, I got an email notification from credit card company as the charge was reversed. How rude!!! No one bother to contact me first. I ended up buying at Lowe's. Then, there was another time during a heavy rainstorm. The garden center entrance was closed. So I walked around through inside of the store. I stood in front of automatic door for a minute. "Hey. Open this damn door." I even try to pry it with my fingers (silly me). Finally, I walked around to its 2nd entrance in the back. Guess what I saw? I giant water fall from the ceiling of this greenhouse to the ground. That was spectacular, watch my video. Ah, if closing the doors was for safety reason, why didn't you put a sign at the door and in the garden center to tell people stay away. read more

I've always had rude service from the garden area at this store, not sure why. Asked where the bathrooms were located and was told inside, which I could easily have figured that out on my own. The two women watering plants together and talking could not just say, go thru the door, straight to the back aisle 19. Blessed with Lulu, customer service rep inside the store, very kind not only gave me directions but looked up an item I saw on line to see if it was in stock. The prices for wind chimes are a lot higher than what I found at Ace Hardware or Amazon so I can't say anything about the value being good. Not going to save money at this store. read more

my elderly mother purchased a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator package from this Home Depot. They installed the dishwasher and stove but the refrigerator couldn't be installed because the water line for the ice maker had to be modified so they put the refrigerator in her garage to come back and install it after the water lines had been modified. She had someone come and modify the water lines and yet that refrigerator stayed in her garage TIL THIS VERY DAY! . They call tell her they're coming just to turn around and tell her they can't make it this has been ongoing for the past several days excuse after excuse which tells and shows how much they value their elderly customers. My mother has lost over $100 in food by taking it out of the old refrigerator when they said they were on their way and it spoiled because they didn't call her until 4 hours later to tell her they can't make it so she got an igloo for the next time and I have been back and forward every other day to pack the contents of the old refrigerator into the igloo just to come back and unpack it cause they call and yet cancel again it has come to the point that it's starting to feel like this is some kinda game to them, so evidently customer service is a game to them and if I could give them a negative star I would but unfortunately the least amount is 1 star. read more

This is a decent Home Depot. Always has what I'm looking for as far as products. It always seem to lack in Serivce though. Hard to find employees and help when you need it. Even the cashiers always are having problems with processing cards. Never fails. All in all got what I needed. Just would think they could step up their customer Serivce a little more. read more

But customer services at the garden center area is deplorable, Hispanic girls cashier are rude, no manners, not educated in other words. Totally understand the need for stores to make one entrance and one exit during Covid-19, so I gladly walked to the door marked entrance in order to walk all the way to the garden area through the store. Once I reached the garden area, I finally tracked down a worker--who was more interested in playing on his phone (WITHOUT a mask-although all customers are required to wear one)--than answering my question regarding how I could see the flowers locked out front. His answer after I "interrupted" him from his important phone issue: "out the front door." I pointed out the sign on the garden area door said exit only and he just stared at it like he was drugged and, finally, shrugged his shoulders. Look, this is a "big box" store, not Macy's, Neiman's, or Dillards. You want 4 or 5 star service, pay more and go to a nice department store. I've never a problem getting service at HD. If I can't find something, I ask. If that person doesn't have the answer, they find someone that does. If you don't want to waste your time, just call customer service and ask or ask them to check the floor and bring it to the counter for you to pick up. No need to grouse about it! read more

Luis, Cliff and Miracle in the blinds department are simply amazing to work with. I can't say enough good things about this place. I made the mistake ONE TIME to step out on them and try Lowe's. Just like any other chain hardware stores, this particular Home Depot is not any different. A whole lot of workers near the front and the back, but there aren't any in the aisles. You really have to find them to get them to help you. And sometimes even when you do find someone, you'll get the "it's not my department" respond. Or, when you ask where a particular item is, they'd just give you a generic answer, "oh it's between aisles number xx and xx. Try there" instead of actually taking you to the location. I normally always find what I need when I have an emergency repair to do. However, the fact that I've been spoiled by the convenience of lower prices online without having to pay for sales tax, I now frequent this location to check out an item before buying it online; or if I need something quick for emergency repairs. So many people told me to look one place and another for the item I was looking for and then there was a tall gentleman name Travis... He was AWESOME, so sweet and nice and helped me find the item I was looking for after over 30 minutes of walking around the store looking like a lost pup! He actually saw me a second time, wondering around and asked if I had found what I needed, once he learned I had not, he escorted me directly to where it was. My first time visiting this location. All the staff was helpful and friendly. The departments were easy to find like any other location. On this visit I got some wood to sand for a project that I will be doing for my nephew. When I asked for help in any of the departments everyone was very respectful and willing to help. I had no idea that they sold small containers of colored paint. I guess I haven't done enough projects but I have had share of labor and remodeling. Lol... I probably wouldn't come to this location in the evening alone unless you have someone else with you. Every employee here has been very helpful from assisting me in finding the right type of paint for my furniture refinish to metal cutting for my DIY projects around my apartment. I came in here right before closing and expected them to turn me away because they were ready to dash out of here to go home, but two gentlemen were more than willing to help me! Needed a last minute truck for a job I'm on to haul so wood. Came in about 4:30 and told the rep that helped us that I'd be back by 7 when the rental station closes as it's just one load that needed to be picked up and dropped off. Given the size of the haul and the location of the drop off, needless to say I was not going to make that 7pm promise! I called and explained the situation and the rep, I believe his name was Johnny, was very understanding, especially about the overnight charge that I really wasn't looking forward to. While he is a customer service worker with a set schedule, while representing a big company, he's a man with a life and responsibilities and I genuinely appreciate that he was able to wait the extra 45 minutes it took for me to fill the gas back up and drop the truck off. Most horrible experience went in to the garden department to look for small bonsai tree for my friends Office. Asked the employee working there where I could find a bonsai tree he told me I have to look for myself didn't even bother pointing me in the right direction. After walking around for a while I want back to ask him if you worked in that department why wouldn't he assist me. He told me if I had a problem to go to the customer service center. He was very rude and prejudice. I told him I was Part of his job and if he could just point me in the right direction. This guy went totally ballistic and started to curse, was very abusive and went on and on and on. On March 18, 2021 I went to Home Depot on 8400 Westheimer Rd. at paint dept and I asked a woman named *Itzy* for wood glue, she was on her cellular phone and I couldn't understand what she had said, so I asked her again and she looked at me and pointed at the wall yelling "it is there, in that aisle" She was so rude saying this in front of other customers and then another girl with short hair must had overheard her and she came towards me immediately telling me she would help me. This girl, I think her name was Jenny, she was very super nice, she helped me with everything; then this woman name *Itzy* came over to showed Jenny something on the phone and she didn't apologize with me at all. I spoke with the manager named Osie about this situation and he said he will addressed, but for some reason he didn't sound very convincing. I have been in this home depot more than I care to mention, but each time is a great experience. I have had to do some DIY jobs to make my place feel like home. Javeir, Stacy, Lawrence, and te store manager, his name escapes me at this moment have all be wonderful with helping me. I went there today for the HD DIY classes. LOL I ended up being the only one that showed up for the class today. LOL So the store manager say to me that he would make a class of what ever I wanted to learn for the day. So interior paiting it was. The only reason this is getting a star at all is because of JERRY, he was in lighting the other day when I needed help finding a bright flood lamp, and he knew exactly what I needed after asking questions, knowing what lights would be better with make up or with clothes, or if i needed it for something else. I finally asked some guys on aisle 11 and they were talking cutting up and didn't look like they were there for work, I asked them and they said Im not sure lets see, they took me to a few guys (3) that were standing over by the fully set up kitchen areas and then they asked them and while they were getting a description of the item again, the other 2 walked off. Once they did, the 3 guys were like I don't know Im not sure. And I said ok well thanks i guess?????---a guy that was there with the 3 an indian guy popped up and tried to look online, on the app, on his handheld device to see if we could find a solution, 10 minutes later we decided its not in store and would have to order. In the mean time i continued looking then i got fed up and decided to try and find a manager, I finally found one close to the saws and lumber, a black lady standing next to and older gentleman and I said Do you have a manager I can speak to, she said I can help you, I asked if she was a manager she said I am one of them, I said ok i need this, and she couldn't give me an answer either, the older guy next to her, said yah no i have never seen anything like that before, I said its this, as I pointed to it on the website, and they said they don't know where it is and have never seen anything like that before...well instead of just saying you haven't seen it why don't you help me look for it? thats what any sales associate should do and first and foremost what the "MANAGER" should be doing! wow. that place is a joke. I went there in a hurry looking for a garbage disposer and plumber's putty. I saw an employee and asked if she could tell me where disposers were. Rachelle pointed out the aisle and accompanied me to where they are. I knew the one I was looking for as had researched online. Then we went where the putty containers are. She knew the aisles where things could be located and even told me that there is a smaller putty tube if the container I had picked was more than I needed. read more

This is the most disorganized home depot I have ever visited. I went for a couple nuts snd bolts. The hardware bins had every other nut and bolt in them except what's on the label. All the bins were very disorganized. The employee on the isle was not helpful at all. I will not return to this store. read more

Been awhile just wanted to follow up on the Home Depot on Westheimer. When I left the first review I had no expectation I would hear from anybody let alone the home office in Atlanta. They made things "right". The issue was to taken care of with no cost to me. The only thing I would add at this point is something like this shouldn't have to go to the home office...maybe they should train their a managers of the different departments on how to handle things like what I experienced.... or maybe give them the authority to make a decision like this without having to go to the home office. This weekend i went to purchase some flower for my garden proyect and as i was entering the store there was water on the entrance and yes i slip and fell with my lega open i hurt my whole leg my ankle was hurting and my hip and back of my leg, the worst part is that the employee didnt even paid attention he was in his cell phone i had to call him 3 times so he could look up and told him i just slip and u didnt even paid attention place the sign that is slippery at least smh so ashame ull hire all this kids with no training to assist youlls customers... and im still hurting its been 2 days already smh read more
