Run, run, run away from doing any flooring purchase from HD. First, the "in stock" flooring we chose had to be ordered and that took a month. Installation team is a joke - Cooper Flooring. Home Depot reps told us that we only have to move things from tops of furniture, that install team would move and work around furniture. Now our house is a wreck, beds are dismantled, and they are giving our friend who is helping us out a really hard time about the work we didn't do for them. When I try calling the store, they keep putting me on hold. When I try to call Cooper Flooring, a recording says they're busy and I should call back later. No option to leave a message. read more

Window installation - Home Depot First the salesman was very nice, but not one step of the project went smoothly. The windows took 7 weeks to arrive but to be fair, I was warned about that possibility. Then they had a "computer glitch" and my card wasn't charge. So I had a contract showing "paid in full" but they said they had problems and the charge didn't go thru, I check my cards and didn't see a charge. The salesman, got on the phone with me and their main office and I tried to give them my credit card number over the phone, nope. She said it was a computer problem, she would check with I.T. and get back to me. The salesman calls and says the windows are now in but meanwhile they have never called me back. The office is again contacted and they say they can't take credit card numbers by phone. The next day, I drive into Humble to give them my credit card number at their store and they say they can't take it. It has to be done thru their installers not thru the store. The sales guy then says they will send me a link and I can pay online. I get a link with an invoice for twice the price stated on the contract. I contact the sales guy, and he says he will get them to resend the link with the correct amount. It comes, but with nothing identifying what these thousands of dollars are purchasing. And on it goes until installation time. They set up a time. They send me an email confirming the time ... they did everything but show up at that time or even show up period. I call the number in the confirmation email you are asked to call if there is a problem. I am told this number is their St. Petersburg Florida store ... I should contact someone locally! I text the salesman ... again, and I guess he contacts someone as they call me at 9 A.M. to say, sorry, no installers are available this late today can they just reschedule for tomorrow? The worst part is they require you to pay 100% up front, which I see why now ... but if they install my windows backwards and upside down I am not going to have much recourse since they are already paid for in full. I thought the ordeal was over, nope... so far, fo a week after paying and getting the windows installed, I get daily reminders notices by text and emails saying I still owe double the amount on the contract. The sales guy and their office agree it is a mistake and that I am paid in full, yet the daily notices keep coming. Soooo, that was a rather long way of saying the process has been most frustrating... and I am dreading the first big rain. My expectations are low! read more

My company gave the corporate office gift cards for Christmas. We were able to pick from several businesses. I chose Home Depot because they always have something I need. Being that the home office is in Pennsylvania they emailed us the gift card information. This Saturday evening I finally had time to go in and use my gift card. The cashier rang up my items and I hand her the paper with the gift card information. There was a picture of the gift card with the numbers and PIN number. She says "I need to check with my manager to see if we can take this". I said "all you have to do is scan it". She then tells me that she doesn't know and that she would need approval. Many of us use gift cards often. We all know once they scan it and use your money off of it, they throw it on the garbage. They don't need it to balance their drawer at the end of their shift. She comes back and tells me she can't take it Bc the card must be "physically present at the time of purchase". I'm angry now. I drive home. Order all the same items online. Paid for it all with the gift card that "had to be present". I chose curbside pickup. So now I have a to drive back to the store and pick up these items I just had in my basket Bc she refused to scan my paper form of a gift card. The girl who bought my items to my car didn't verify my name or method of payment. Smh. Someone should tell the cashier and the manager that online gift cards are purchased everyday and they won't be "physically present at the time of purchase". Scan the darn paper or phone and move on. Just finished buying a washer/dryer and can't say enough about Jonathan Billingsley. We had been in when we were shopping around and of all the places we went Jonathan was absolutely the most knowledgeable. He explained the differences of the brands and their line of products, answered all our questions. He gave us spec sheets and total cost for the two different brands we were considering. This is not my usual location and thank goodness for that, this place is a wreck! I wandered around in this store for over an hour, passed several employees who didn't have any words to throw my way or even a smile. That's disappointing. Everything is out of order and the store is a mess. Ask an employee for help and you might get sent to whatever isle they find on the Home Depot website. After being frustrated for over an hour in that store, I decided it was time to go before I lost my temper. Just went into Home Depot to order granite, light fixtures, sinks, toilet, faucets, etc. for two bathrooms. I sat down and was telling the salesperson, Stephanie, the granite that I wanted and she wrote it down on a notepad. As she started to get on the computer, another customer walked up and Stephanie asked her, "How can I help you?" The customer proceeded to tell her a long story about how her microwave was coming out of the wall, etc and that she needed certain screws. Stephanie told her she needed to go to hardware. Then the lady said she had been to hardware. Then Stephanie proceeds to get up and help the lady, all while I'm sitting there for 5 minutes. I finally told her never mind that I didn't have time to wait while she goes off to help another customer. I walked to the front and asked to speak to a manager. A gentleman by the name of Michelangelo came to talk to me. I told him what happened and he basically said that doesn't sound like Stephanie. He said I'm guessing she was multi-tasking or did you feel abandoned? I said I felt abandoned for like over 5 minutes. He basically then said...sorry! I hope Stephanie's sale of a screw and washer was worth losing what they would make on 2 bathrooms being remodeled. I will go somewhere else that has customer service and values my business. My husband and I were there for Christmas decorations. They pride themselves in honoring the men and women that served our country. My husband is a marine veteran, with a drivers license that said "VETERAN" on it, but they won't honor it because we don't have the right ID for it. We also happens to have his DD-214 on our phone, but that wasn't enough for a 10% discount. It's ridiculous, it's not that we are lying to get the discounts. Also, do they not know that, in order to get the "VETERAN" we HAD to prove to DPS that he is a veteran?? Anyways it's ridiculous. I just installed (along with my family) a new "arctic ice" marble backsplash. The project was arduous and I received great guidance from Tim in the tile department. He walked me around the store to get me all the supplies needed. I did however have to make 5 more trips back for more supplies and to rent a saw, but that's expected. My main reason for a trip to Home Depot these days is for their kid's event the first Saturday of every month. Most activities are perfect for kids aged 3 to 10. Younger ones need help, but it's a good, educational family activity, IMO. The staff who organize it are very friendly and helpful when needed. I bought my grill here and left it so they could assemble it. They told me it was going to be ready by Wednesday. So I call Wednesday to see if it was ready to get picked up. Hello, I placed a 13000 with your company, and was having it delivered to my jobsite, upon arrival of my material store 0576 in humble Texas did not deliver 1000 of my material, upon discovery the store informed me that the driver didn't load it on the truck, but stated I came and picked it up which was far from accurate. Upon calling the store I spoke with Matt only to be lied to, ignored, and not helped at all. I drove an hour to the location to be told that before my product can be redelivered loss prevention had to review that I didn't pick it up, I've now waited 3 days and have wasted about 2700 in payroll because I can't get my job started without this material. I then called and asked for Matt, I heard Matt in the background ask the person on the phone who is it and after he responded I was put on hold for 15 minutes. I then called back and was hung up on, finally after reaching someone I was then informed that Matt had left. So I informed the lady of the issue and she then put me on hold and after 36 minutes I hung up. My customers and I have done 1/2 million dollars since the beginning of the year to be treated like crap. This is not good service. I count on your materials to conduct my remodeling business and to be treated like trash is horrible. Till this day I still don't have material. I've waisted time and payroll, when I paid for delivery as well as a lot of material for a portion of this 140k renovation that I am doing. Lack of effort by the manager was despicable. Zero effort made to serve customers. We had trouble turning on a billy goat brush cutter that we rented from the westpark/loop610 location. I just walked out of Home Depot and I am pretty upset about their lack of help at this location. I was waiting by the air vents/bath aisle needing some help on questions I had in regards to some of their products. When an employee walked by me in a black apron, I asked if I could get some help. He was obviously flustered and said,"I will try, I am trying to find help for everyone and no one is around." I told him thanks and then proceeded to wait about 10 minutes without one person coming by to see if I needed any help. I looked at some items for an additional 5 minutes in hopes it would make time go by faster while I waited and maybe someone would show up to help me - nope. congratulations Home Depot. I ve noticed the difference. First of all hooray on hiring more staff. This chain is well known for understaffing. I dreaded going here because when I needed assistance there was none around. Ever. I often opted for Lowe's because although the prices were a bit higher than Home Depot there was sure to be around helpful staff. But that has changed now. I ve noticed the cleaningness of the store, the self checkout lanes always open, and by far more noticeable and friendly staff. Great job. Im back to being a regular customer. read more

I shop at Home Depot on a regular basis for my company, and in shopping there, I use a company check. While trying to purchase ceiling fans for the company, I was denied by a cashier who basically told me she would not ring me up and that I needed to go to customer service. When I asked why, she replied, I don't feel comfortable accepting your check. I informed her that I write checks there all the time but she refused to ring me up or summon for a manager. When I went to the customer desk, I asked for the Manager. Mr. Angelo, (the assistant manager) asked how he could be of service. When I told him what happened, he responded, That he could not accept the Check. Long story short after showing my DL and business card he processed my transaction. Never did he apologize for the lack of customer service. I asked again to speak with the manager and Mr. Angelo replied, I am the manager. I said, no, you are the assistant manager. He immediately informed me that the manager was not there. To avoid making a scene, I exited the premises. The employees at this location would benefit from going through a customer service class. On June 23, 2018 at around 6:30 am I made a call to this location. The automated system said to press 6 to speak to tool rental. I was placed on hold by the automated system. I finally got someone to answer she asked which department I would like to talk to. Huh? What kind of automated system is this? So she transfers me to tool rental. After waiting again, another person answers. I asked if he was tool rental and if not to not transfer me. He said no and transferred me. What? Why have an automated system when you have real people that can put you in an endless cycle of elevator music? I'm trying to get a hold of corporate to file a formal complaint as well. read more
