The tile guy who worked on Aug 5 in the afternoon with the goatee does not help at all. The tall guy does take the time to help. Came here again Nov 9 and I was looking for a kwikset smartkey entry knob. 5 were listed on the website. I went there and there were 0. Could not find anyone to help see if they were in boxes. Found someone at checkout but she could not leave her post which I understand. This Springfield HD has never been helpful. If you need real help, better to go to Elmont store. They are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Or if you are growing weery of HD store and their lack of help. Lowes in Rosedale is way better and they never have online inventory issues, plus more helpful and friendly. read more

In desperate need of some items for my new apartment my hunny and I came here to pick up the basics. We had a list and a plan in mind to get everything we needed in the least amount of time. Holy crap, where's everyone? I see a bunch of orange aprons but no one actually around to help us locate the items we couldn't find. To add further insult someone stole my cart. I strategically place my boxes on top of the cart with a few other items so I'm really appalled that my cart was stolen. Granted my hunny and I got caught up in the light bulb section trying to figure which one would be suitable for the new apartment. I walked around the corner and see a orange apron attached to an employee loaded up a cart, my cart! I look to my left and see that my items were placed on the sideline. I told him flat out that he has my cart. He said, "oh yeah?, someone took mine." I said, yeah, well that's my cart and you took my stuff out and placed them to the side. Home Depot can be a tricky place to navigate if you find yourself there at the wrong time of day on their most hectic days. This review is based on 4 visits in a week while I renovated my apt which included mostly painting, molding,upgrading light switches and finishes throughout. This location is the closest to me and the store is pretty standard in size. Upon sight it seems incredibly staffed until you need to find people on the floor to actually assist you. Any Dept that is in the back 2 rows is completely deserted and you're left to your own devices. The paint department can move slowly dependent on who is staffed there. On my 1st 2 visits alone I spent over an hour and 15 mins waiting for the paint to be mixed. On my 3rd a lovely young lady named Shan was a real mvp and had me in and out in less than 30 mins and gave real clever pieces of advice. All department stores can present some challenges when it comes to customer service. One thing this store does well is that they have the products you need. One area of growth is definitely staffing the registers and getting sales people on the floor throughout circulating departments. read more

This experience has become a better one in regards to the other Home Depot locations. Seems cleaner and has a better floor plan that is easier to find things. Some of the other stores associates do not help as much as this location. I needed some advice on some floor surface application methods and this Home Depot hit the mark. 7-18-2015 Windows are a Pain (double entendre attempt) It's window day and I would recommend making the process of ordering windows more efficient. You have to have a sales associate sit down with you and then it isn't easy to really see what is all in stock due to not having all the sku numbers from the products you advertise online. Started a bathroom renovation, my local home depot didnt have the vanity in stock. Had to drive to the queens home depot where it stated they had 9 in stock. Went through the aisles and couldn't find it, it also wasnt on the top shelves. Asked an associate for help, her name was Mervette. I asked if she can help locate the vanity. She said it was delivered yesterday, it would be still in the dock or might have been unloaded. She took her time to help me and actually went back to the loading area and found the vanity! She gave great customer service and helped me so quickly and went the extra mile to get me the vanity so I dont have to take another trip out there. I shop at Home Depot at least 3 - 4 times per week. This Home Depot on Merrick Blvd. has to be the worst store in all of New York. The staff has no regards for providing quality customer service. If you ask a question they redirect you to someone else. If you ask for assistance they are you wait for know good reason other than they are too lazy to assist customer. I was in the store today to have a key cut s I approached 3 different clerks they each looked away so they would not have to assist me. I waited 20 minutes and to no avail no one assisted me. I left and went to a local hardware store to make my purchase. As for the other materials I went to Lowes in Fiume towns for some good old quality customer service. I didn't have to ask for help staff offers help as soon as I entered the store. I once worked for HD and we were not allowed to redirect customers we helped all know matter the need. This staff on Merrick needs to get it together, and they were not young kids working these were grown folks acting lazy. read more

Purchased a Gas Range From Home Depot. Charged me $310.00 to install $528.00 range. Was never told that installation "might be" up to three days later until after the stove was delivered. Now I have a stove that was delivered on July 17th and was told today that I have to wait until at least July 20th for the plumber to call me and let me know when the stove will be hooked up. The sales person I worked with said nothing about this run around. It actually took the in-store sales person nearly an hour to finalize the stove order. That to me should have been a warning of what this experience would end up being. Will most likely look at Lowes next appliance replacement time. read more

The customer service in the appliances department is HORRIBLE!!! The fact that we waited for someone to help us over 45 minutes, and only then because we asked at least 5 people to help us from other departments to help us (and they paged a manager). The "manager" (Russ), was of no assistance whatsoever, aside from telling a lady to ring us up. We ended up spending over $600 on a washing machine, despite this. I live in queens so I've probably been to every home depot looking for a bargain it just stopping to grab some garbage bags. Recently we visited this Home Depot locates on Merrick and I've got to say; I have never been treated so kindly and with so much respect as a customer. These employees went up and beyond to walk us to an isle, choose our items correctly and help us put the order together. The associated manager is a gentleman ,soft spoken and actually listened to my questions and concerns. I highly recommend this location and will be doing most of my shopping there now. Spring field garden will certainly be my go to gown depot now. One of the best customer service I've received at any Home Depot. Currently in the market for a new kitchen and Audrey was exceptionally helpful, we were unaware we needed to make a reservation before hand but she stepped in and took care of all our kitchen question and got everything taken care of in a remarkable time. Also Alex in customer service was extremely patient and helpful seeing that we paid for the items with the wrong card, he made sure we got that fix and had such a positive attitude which eased our frustration. read more

All the plants I've bought from them have died....I tried to take a couple of them back but the people at customer service basically pick and choose who they want to accommodate...my husband and I have had issues before here, the manager was pretty helpful but the staff know absolutely nothing!! I only come here if I know it's already on the shelf because otherwise the help here is absolutely terrible. The only people that I have nothing bad to say about are the cashiers Now I walk with a cane because I have a bad surgically repaired leg. I shouldn't have to walk around an entire store just to look for the person that's in charge of the aisle. By the time I find someone it ends in disappointment where I get referred to the next guy who then refers me to the guy whose out on lunch. Happens every time. I recently needed a new door and they said they had 7 in stock on the app but that particular door was no where to be found. Asked someone and the same game of find the guy in charge took place. When I finally find the guy who looked like he just got off of lunch he did a full 360 around the aisle didn't bother to check the fresh stock of doors on the higher shelves and said they don't have it. The majority of the staff just finds a corner to mingle in while people like me are looking for them like a game of man hunt. They don't update their stock. I went to Home Depot to get Ultrasac Contractor bags. Unable to find the bags on my own I received help from a very nice employee so my experience was pleasant, self check-out was a breeze. This Home Depot has zero customer service. We ordered a luxury bidet toilet seat and it was there in the Merrick Blvd Home Depot for over a month and not one person called to let us know. When we called several times to ask if it was there, we were told no. We had to literally track down the delivery ourselves and find out who signed for it at that home depot in order to get it and were then told "oh, we get lots of deliveries and they stay in the back and we didn't know it was there" which means their staff never looked for the package and kept telling us it was not there and it clearly was delivered weeks before. It makes me wonder how many others have experienced the same thing. When we complained to the manager on duty upon picking up the bidet seat, we got a very weak response about how many deliveries they receive daily. They are a large chain, of course they receive deliveries daily and that is still no excuse for being completely disorganized, lazy, and losing a customer's package that delayed our bathroom renovation. We were not even offered any type of compensation or amends for how we were treated. This is unacceptable! read more
