I have to agree with Franco with respect to the knowledge of their staff. I had a recent experience ordering carpet from this store and it was like the blind leading the blind. I also had a pretty simple question about a wet/vac that couldn't be answered by the gentleman assigned to that aisle - had to resort to looking it up on my phone. On the positive side, customer service at this location is pretty spot, which is one thing you will get from a big box store. They will take things back with pretty much no questions asked. For small things, I would rather do my shopping at a local hardware store, but you know there is at least some modicum of quality control and your selection is far greater at a large chain like the home depot. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience at the Jericho Home Depot today. The first cashier charged me almost 600 dollars for about 100 dollar worth of flowers. The second cashier named Tina came over to redo everything and proceeded to yell at me that she and the first cashier were doing me a big favor. She said that she was standing up for her friend. She scolded me that I should have been monitoring the scanned price and catching the mistakes, and I should go somewhere else if I want to complain. Another person named Jimmy also came over and started lecturing me in a rude and condescending manner. So I was just trying to buy some flowers for my garden and instead had three Home Depot customer service people ganging up on me at 7 am in the morning, when they were not even busy and were supposed to be helping their customers. read more

This is a prominent Home Depot location. Jericho serves construction needs all over North Shore Nassau County. Given this location serves an area peppered with affluent neighborhoods, you'd expect nothing but great service and well stocked inventory. As a frequent customer of this Home Depot, I'm here to tell you to expect nothing but mediocrity at best. And that's being generous. Inventory is spotty. Sometimes they have what you're looking for, but if you're frequent to this location like me, expect to end up schlepping to Syosset or Westbury. The associates are hit and miss. A couple here and there will know their department's stuff, but for the most part, they are unhelpful. Most just can't wait to leave you alone and run off to God knows where. That's happened to me more times than I can count. The customer service desk is not helpful. One time, during a return, the representative told me to put a very heavy item on top of their counter, and I almost hurt myself trying to do so. The pro desk is even worse. I've been to so many Home Depots all over the New York metropolitan area, and I can say without any reservation that this is the WORST pro desk I've ever seen. Early in the morning, there are a few decent people to help, but any other time it is a graveyard shift. I'm waiting here right now for ONE representative of Home Depot, who is apparently the only person in this entire big box store who is able to execute the kind of transaction I need. I asked for the general manager, but got the assistant manager instead. I told him the problem and he indicated he would help. Someone was sent but that person could not perform the transaction I needed. Clearly, my problem is of no concern to Home Depot. To be clear, I don't blame the one gentleman at pro desk. It's Management's fault for not hiring more people who know how to do text to confirm transactions. Home Depot needs a shakedown in competition. The worst customer service ever at the tool rental place. The guy behind the desk is rude and nasty. First I walked in and he's nasty about to many people being in the store how my supposed to know if you have a small sign on the door which is tinted and can hardly see the sign may next you should tell the customer I'm sorry can you wait outside for a few minutes there's to many people in here instead of screaming out there's TO MANY PEOPLE IN HERE all nasty and then when you ask for help on a sander to do a floor his answer is the sanders are over there no help what's so ever and then when walking out cause I'm need help and this guys doesn't want to help he tells me that's the sanders that they have but there's like 4 or 5 different sanders and again instead of saying I can help you I told him I'm going to another store that can help me he yells Have a nice day. Great customer service. I work in customer service industry I would never talk to a customer like that and if I saw a customer walking out i would try and help them before they left. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a Home Depot and it does have what you need I would give this particular one 1 star. This is the kind of store where you can find better help from a fellow customer than the employees that work here. Almost nobody knows anything here. It's like they don't train people just hire and tell them to go out on the floor and be somebody...I can't tell you the amount of times Ive come here and there's nobody in the isles to assist you. You ask a manager where the guy is and your there standing for 20-30 minutes while they page someone whose probably in the lounge area sleeping or picking his nose. Everyone i asked for help told me they didn't work in that deparment and the shift manager Chris didn't even show his face after he was requested. Went to LOWES and was in and out in 15 minutes. We visited this Home Depot for the first time on a Saturday afternoon on 5/15/21 to see if this location had portable washing machines. We initially tried to reach this site by phone with no answer so that's why we physically came in.There was only one worker in the appliance section who was a Caucasian middle aged woman with glasses. She did not seem to know what she was doing, was not friendly, and was not willing to go the extra mile to help. She even started helping another customer who was Caucasian even though she didn't finish with our request which was completely unacceptable. We then had to get another staff member to place a call in the store for a staff member to continue helping us in the appliance section. That's when this lady came back with no apologies for leaving us ( we are Non Caucasian customers) and helping someone else. Even after that she still wasn't helpful. She just said portable washing machines were only sold online and she was not fluent in navigating the home depot website to assist us on which option would fit our needs. She basically said all portable washing machines were sold out with no further solid advice. It was a waste of our time going all the way to this site for this lousy customer service. This lady looks like she does not want to work, does not know what she's doing, and not willing to go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. After that visit, we called Lowes and was not only able to get a hold to speak with a salesperson but the salesperson said we can come into Lowe's the next day to be assisted with our purchase. The next day, we went to Lowe's in which the staff member was very helpful, knowledgeable, and assisted us in placing an online order for the portable washing machine we were looking for. The salesperson at Lowe's even gave a discount of over $100 on our order due to a price match of that same appliance from another store franchise. This Home Depot needs to get their act together in recruiting staff members in the appliance section who have effective communication skills, are knowledgeable, have the innate quality to be assertive and most importantly, go above and beyond to help their customers or else their business will be a sinking ship sooner than later! read more

My experience at the Jericho Home Depot was truly amazing. JOEL the manager was one of the nicest & most accommodating people I have ever met. He treated me & my fiancé as if we were long time friends. In this day in age so many people are rude & don't have the time to help. This store all the associates were very helpful! NEIL who works in the finance area was there till after the store was closed helping us & doing all he can to make our experience great. I am not a person to review a home depot but the service was great. I came here to buy paint for my living room and the lady at painting extremely nice and helpful. She showed me how to paint the bricks, give me a good selection of paint. Her recommended color was great and really showed the living room. read more

For a business we ordered custom countertops. They were delivered as one L shaped piece when it was supposed to be two. They have now refused to replace them as they say they were accepted at the loading dock at the building. This was after they told me that it was going to be fixed. We are now going to dispute through AMEX. We will NEVER buy anything from them again. I was about to do my home kitchen through them but cancelled that. I like this Home Depot because it is convenient for me. If you know what you want and where it is in the store, it's great. I recommend printing out the store layout from the website before you go. It is hard to find help in this store. If you need a product on a high shelf you might as well forget it. You also have to watch out for the contractors in the store wheeling huge lumber all over the place without looking. Overall I do recommend this store and it's conveniently located between the LIE service road and Jericho Turnpike. read more

I had a plumbing issue at home where a sink broke and water shot literally everywhere. I was able to remove the broken parts, and took them with me to Home Depot. I was blown away at the time Rick(plumbing dept.) took to help me out and after a long time was able to locate the correct part and solved everything. He took the time to listen to me, explain and help, i am thankful for the amazing customer service Rick provided!!! They employ the tactic of offering a low estimate on home services like carpet installation etc, in order to pull in the customer and then jack it up hundreds of dollars later. Their customer service is hit or miss. We would not use them for home improvement contracting. Do NOT buy appliances here. Their extended warranty is a JOKE. Our freezer runs hot. We have been on the phone with these people for over two months. First "technician" they sent was RUDE and basically said we were lying about the running hot since it wasn't when he was there. "Unless I can see it then it isn't happening." His answer - "don't put anything against the back wall of the freezer." Second technician looked in the freezer and frig and told us it was a mother board/sensor issue and he would order a part. Nothing happened. Then a call from HD left on machine saying part was ordered (10 days after the tech was here). We called back and were told it was a compressor problem (not what the tech said) and that they aren't authorized to fix it. Our outside techs aren't GE approved techs. WHAT THE HECK? Fix the darn thing or replace it. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Customer service... OMG. I went in to pick up an online order. There were about 4-5 employees standing behind the customer service counter and not ONE acknowledged me. Just one was actually at the register, "helping" another customer (I couldn't BELIEVE how rude the cashier was being... I understand frustration when it comes to customer service, but COME ON... be respectful!). The others were literally STANDING THERE. So maybe it's not their job to be at the register, but LOOK UP away from your phones or whatever you're fidgeting with and SAY HELLO. I completely understand that the store might have been busy, but customers who are waiting in line should at least be acknowledged. It literally takes two seconds to say, "Hi- someone will be right with you." Even a SMILE would make a world of difference. But these young men and women looked and acted absolutely annoyed and miserable. Awful. I only gave a second star because when I was FINALLY helped, the young woman was quick in getting my order to me. read more

Location is central so it's a busy store. The staff are generally helpful BUT they have one employee in Electrical who is rude and unhelpful. Ask him a question and he'll act like you are inconveniencing him, he'll pretend not to understand your question, or he'll give you an answer that implies you should know the answer yourself. I dread seeing this guy as it's always the same. He should not be in a customer service role anywhere. Today I walked out on him and called the store manager Sean to complain. I was pragmatic and reasonable - and Sean seemed to get it. Either way, I will go to Syosset in future for my Electrical needs. if you want the worst experience in the world in ordering a kitchen, go to the home depot in jericho li and see greg the kitchen designer. let me share a story with you. i ordered a kitchen 6 months ago to be delivered within 60 days. 60 days later i called to confirm shipment and was told it was never ordered they lost the order. this is after i paid in full for the kitchen and paid a contractor for a date to install based on home depots timeline. so they ordered it one more time and guess what. 120 days later the kitchen arrives missing parts, cabinets and of course they ordered the wrong cabinets as well. so here we are with a contractor who already emptied to bare walls the old kitchen and we are sitting with no kitchen. so they re ordered the missing parts we were promised everything in 2 weeks and here we are 6 weeks later with nothing. i made 30 telephone calls to greg the kitchen designer, to the store manager who never retirned one call and to this date no one has done anything to correct this problem. so it costs me for a kitchen, a contractor and eating out. so now i turn to all my fellow friends and say do not go to a home depot and i just called frank blake the ceo and lets see if he answeres my phone call today. i have never been treated in such a shabby manner before. as i am in the service business i understand that taking care of a customer is paramount. so i guess home depot just does not care about customer service or the management in place at jericho li should be replaced. read more
