I went to Home Depot to buy paint and when I got to the paint department, I asked the first employee I saw if he could help me get a gallon of outdoor patio and porch brown paint. Without hesitating he took my order while simultaneously helping two other customers and seemed to know his job very well. It appeared that the paint department wasn't his primary department because he kept on getting calls for help elsewhere. He stayed and helped the other customers and I to complete our orders selflessly and as a team player. His confidence and character had the qualities of a manager, and if not, should be promoted as soon as possible. read more

I hate going to these kinds of stores because I always feel helpless and overwhelmed. Well, that is no longer the case! I have been doing some projects and been shopping for tools, paint, backsplash stuff, door insulation strips and I have had amazing and thoughtful assistance, dare I say support, with every visit. Last week II took a drawer from my dresser in to get the paint matched. I dropped o the drawer. When I returned they had tried several times to match the paint and told me to come back in ten minutes because they weren't satisfied with the match. Super! So, I drove home, unpacked everything. No drawer. I tried calling them. The automated service is off its rocker, btw. I finally got through but they were unable to pick up. It was the. Friday before Mother's Day-I'm sure they were swamped. I didn't have time to return until Sunday evening-my drawer was waiting for me. So great! And someone is always available to help. The store is tidy. And I always find the exact product I am looking for. They are my go-to store. read more

My husband and I went to home depot to recarpet our home. Everything went smoothly until it came to us actually purchasing the carpet. When we went into the quote process, none of the numbers were adding up. After about an hour of calls and trying to figure out what was going on, they found it was a systemwide glitch that was adding an additional coupon for free carpet cushion. The sales associate, Louis (who was very nice), was on the phone with a woman named Cynthia, and she said other customers have been able to utilize the glitch, but that Louis would have to speak to his manager and get the approval. After a few minutes, the manager approved the sale. We get into the actual purchasing, and we signed up for the credit card and the 24 month financing. We get to the very last signature, when the sales associate backed out of the purchase because he missed a pivotal step. He redid the purchase, but when he scanned the credit card, it said declined. He called card services to find out we were already charged the amount (though on Louis' computer it said the quote was not finalized), and that the double charge would take us over the credit limit. We're verging on hour two when they finally said we have to wait for the purchase pending to be removed off of the credit card in order to be able to purchase, but that our quote was unchangeable, and that the price was completely locked in. The very next day we get an email from Louis, completely backing out of the price that was approved by the manager and that we were promised was completely locked in. My husband goes in today to try and finalize AGAIN, and the associate that helped him was very nice, but once again the quote was not accurate and would not let the purchase process. She printed out the quote and took it to the front to try and ring it up there, and a completely different price popped up. When they went to process it again, they said their system was down and could not process the transaction. All in all, while the sales associates were nice, this has been an absolutely horrific experience trying to buy carpet. I realize it was a glitch, but we were present when the manager gave authorization and the only reason we weren't able to purchase on Friday was a error on the side of the sales associate. Now we're forced to purchase carpet from Home Depot because we got the credit card, but if we had the choice we would absolutely NOT spend thousands of dollars towards a store that doesn't honor its quotes. read more

I had a very disappointing rental experience at the Home Depot Lacey store (#4742). The pressure washer I rented broke down within minutes and was clearly poorly maintained. When I returned it, instead of listening, the staff (Chris) was defensive and blamed me for the issues. Here is an update with my property damage. Home Depot used the company Sedgwick for their claims. Sedgwick does everything in their power to get out of paying claims. 2 months now with the run around and gaslighting..They are too lazy to even have their insurance adjuster come by to see the damage their driver did taking out my fence, gate and pillar. Lying and saying my contractor didn't email them and they can't get ahold of them etc.. They won't accept the email and lie and say they called him. We just went here to get plywood and couldn't find anyone to help my husband load it into the cart so I had to help and I just had back surgery and I'm using a walker and I'm not supposed to lift anything! After putting 3 pieces in we stopped because my back was screaming and i looked again for help, I found the 3rd person that we had asked for help and asked her so she got someone who was very unhappy helping my husband but he did it . Mask mandate is still in effect in this location, yet 5 minutes in this store I saw easily 30 people with no masks on. I asked the cashier If they still had a mask policy for the store, which she replied yes but we can't do anything about them not wearing their masks and seemed confused to the policy as a whole. Ugh. It's a box store, what can I say? Stock is low, and the help is ignorant or non-existent. They have a nice old lady at the lumber checkstand; Otherwise, it's self-checkout, so my trip into the store for a couple of pipe fittings becomes an event. I plan to blow an hour for the trip. Service was terrible!! I was served by Brenna at the cashier's counter after I tried to return a plant that I had bought but could not fit in my car. She could not accept the item back even though I returned it 1hr after I bought it. And I also had the receipt plus the card I used for the purchase. She insisted that we had to wait to view the store video recording of the purchase and verify that I indeed purchased the item. I am black. I felt discriminated and profiled. I have never heard of any store needing video verification of purchase to accept returns. This is unacceptable and BRENNA should receive additional training on how to deal with customers. Once upon a time this store had five star service but the last few years have been horrible. I'm not sure if it's because of a management change or not. They don't enforce mandatory COVID-19 protocols for their associates or customers. I mentioned this to the store manager and her response was that we don't enforce any protocols because of associate safety. I enquired further and she stated it's because some customer get upset and we don't want our associates or managers to deal with these hostile customers for their safety. I reported this to their corporate office and they ensured me the district manager would call me back as that was absolutely not their policy. Guess what, I never heard back from anyone. I was once a loyal customer of Home Depot for most things, but now I am not. On June 29, 2023, my father and I were picking up small items to start getting his project stuff ready. We had a plan, and Home Depot's representatives agreed. This was at the Lacey location address 1450 Marvin Rd NE, Lacey, WA 98516. He was being helped by one person and they were almost to my truck when another representative (Whose break was being interrupted needlessly because no one asked for her) showed up with an experienced forklift driver. She and this driver kept talking over my father and me who kept saying, that we were allowed to make multiple trips, (2) one with a trailer for the 2400 pounds of concrete. It was to the point where my father had to act like the spoiled associates. The manager attempted to talk down to me as the owner of the truck, and again my father had to shut her down before I could. This day I was calm, as my father was doing most of the yelling on my behalf and being much nicer to them. The next day June 30, Friday, I had a phone call with their insurance company and where the only info I was told they would be emailing so that I could send pictures and other finding if any. I said thank you I looked forward to the email. The email has yet to come. The finding is because of the weight of the concrete, my front brakes, and alignment were pretty much destroyed. The cost is well above a normal break job. I waited until the weekend was over to take the information that was well above a break job to Home Depot so that they could have a copy, and add it to the file. (again since I have no way to get ahold of the insurance company) this is when she, informed me that she could not do that, Again condescending and this is when I finally gave her my attitude (since my father was not around) and I informed her that not 1 of those people including her has yet to be sincere and apologize to me, and show me they were a good employee, where she finally was corruptive enough to give me a number. She also finally apologized with the added attitude of "Please remember we are only human and mistakes happen". To which I responded with a word from her generation "True but you broke it you should fix it and there were always consequences." I called the number and they said they would call me back I called the number and the agent on my case has yet to call me back. Home Depot is living proof that we as a society do not want to take responsibility for our actions. The Girl (because she acted like a child) who inserted herself and an inexperienced forklift driver should be forced to go train in respect and any other training. The manager who did not want to deal with my situation should also lose her position and be transferred to a low-stocker for not being willing to go the extra mile. Especially when both my father and I said the exact truth and the manager had the employee tell her side of the story while I was listing facts. My only prayer is that the insurance company makes it right and that Home Depot learns that appeasing employees who do whatever is eventually will lose business. To those who live around this Home Depot, save yourself the heartache, and your property for tools go to ACE or Harbor Freight. If you need anything else, go to Lowe's. This way even if you will be treated with respect and dignity, and if accidents or lack of communication happen in their ranks, they will at least respect you. This is my plan moving forward, as it seems that Home Depot really does not want business. I was waiting to write this until insurance (Their) did their thing, and contacted me again which is another issue as they have yet to call me again. read more

We've made two trips to Home Depot in the past week to buy the larger arbor vitae's. My decades of experience with Home Depot is that they are inexperienced & short staffed. Not the case with this store! Huge compliments for your friendly, cheerful and VERY helpful staff! On both visits I bought 3 of the larger trees and no way I could get them into the car by myself. On each occasion an employee put them in my car! Wish I would have gotten the first guys name. Today it was George Alfaro who was a great ambassador for Home Depot! My only complaint.... isn't the customer always right?!?! I tried to give them a tip & they steadfastly refused. this is for the flooring department in particular, with a little sprinkle of "kitchen makeovers" thrown in. about a month ago, we sat down with gabby in flooring to build a quote for brand new floors. while she did let me know it wouldn't be official until we paid to have someone come out and measure, she built it for us with the square footage measurements we had. the measurements we gave her ended up totaling less than what was measured when we had someone come to the house, but somehow the "official quote" wound up about 150% what we expected which is a HUGE jump. honestly, we felt ripped off. we disclosed floor types, showed pictures, asked about baseboards and appliance moving, etc. we should've gotten an initial price that was somewhat close to the final quote, but it was so far off i don't even know where to begin. i'm convinced they provide a low initial quote to get you in the door and paying the $50 to get your floors measured, before totally hiking the price. not to mention, we were also told that the contractors who would come out to do the work could theoretically upcharge us whatever they wanted, even refusing to finish the job after ripping up the existing floors. and apparently there would be nothing we or home depot could do about it. that's insane, honestly. beyond that, they were also two weeks delayed in getting us the official quote because the contractors confused our photos with someone else's, and that's with me calling them every day to follow up (their instructions, but nobody could figure out what was going on whenever i called) and knowing from the very beginning that we were working with a tight timeline. there was no apology whatsoever for that delay, and we were told there was no way to schedule an installation on the week they'd initially promised us because due to their delay they were now booking out even further. a similar thing happened when we got someone to come out and measure our countertops for possible replacement. we have a small kitchen and based on the literature plus the person in the store chatting with us, it should not have been that expensive. however, when the person came to measure, somehow 70ft of counters would cost nearly $20k to replace. as opposed to less than $5k in the little pamphlet. absolute madness. beware if you go through home depot for home or kitchen installs. i believe they said the kitchen contractors work directly for home depot, but the flooring contractors do not, and in researching that company (the only company home depot works with out here) they have awful reviews and are rated F by the BBB. read more

Bought a new washer & dryer from this store and had them delivered in July. Dryer stopped working on February 25th. It took ten days to get a repairman out to look at the machine, now parts are on order. That's another 7-10 days, then getting a repairman out here again will be at least another week, and the nearest laundromat is twenty minutes from our home. I called this morning and spoke to a manager, David, about the situation. David's response? "Well, enjoy the laundromat." Are you kidding me? This is how you treat loyal customers? We own our home and a rental unit. We have need for the things Home Depot sells... but Ace and Lowe's sell those things too, and that's where our business will be going in the future. I was happy to spend nearly $200 on lumber but I was incredibly mistreated all three times that I came in to buy additional pieces and to get things cut. I now need just a few more pieces and my project will be done but I won't go back here. I'm going to drive almost 20 minutes away just so that I can might be treated like a human being ought to. The Tool Rental @ this Home Depot is awesome. I rented a carpet cleaner for 24 hours, for $31 (or could have done 4 hours only, for about $10 less). The person who helped me (Kenzie I think) was efficient and knowledgeable. The whole thing was smooth and affordable, no hassle. This location is lacking in the "can-do" department. I ran in for a single item. I knew exactly where it was located, thanks to the Home Depot website (a big reason I shop at HD instead of Lowes). When I got to the aisle it was blocked off due to a bleach spill in the next aisle. I let one of the employees know that I needed an item from that aisle but was offered no assistance to grab it and bring it to me, I was only told it would be 10 to 15 minutes to clean up the bleach spill in the next aisle. I wound up going to another store to get the item. As far as I could see none of the bleach was in the aisle that I needed to access yet it was blocked off. A very frustrating experience, capped off with employees that aren't willing to help a customer out. read more

What's a sure sign that the real estate market is still suffering? When you go to Home Depot and three service associates ask you if you want help, and there are no lines at the checkout counter. I was here for a return, and three years ago that would have been a half an hour ordeal. Today I was in and out in less than five minutes. One pet peeve - I had an existing gift card from home depot from a previous return and I got additional store credit with my new return. Home Depot's system required me to get a new gift card to store the credit on. Why can't they figure out how to load a gift card with additional credit? Still no flooring installed in my house. The company hired by Home Depot to complete the work is the most worthless I have ever seen. They canceled the measure of the rooms we wanted new floors the day of the measure appointment saying we don't have anyone in your area. They set the appointment up. Then we received the estimate and they left three areas off for different BS reasons. Then comes the follies with installation of the flooring. The first day was canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Rescheduled by them for Yesterday. They then called the day after setting that appointment to change to an earlier date. Great! Pause not! This new date would be canceled the morning off because of "weather." I drive a small car that is front wheel drive. I had no issues on the same roads that they would have traveled. Also grew up in areas that do not get snow. Now they are just making up excuses. Rescheduled again (if you are counting, this is not the 4th install date). Guess what? They canceled again the morning of the appointment. Still claiming weather. Still had my small car on the road. I am currently waiting for the next install date. Sure hope I have new flooring soon. My house has been tore apart for two weeks waiting to have the $5000 worth of flooring I have already paid for installed. Some corporate Home Depot will hear from me. This has caused me to no longer trust HD. I will be taking my money elsewhere and I hope you will do the same. read more

Wildly inconsistent service! I went through Home Depot to remodel my kitchen. The order-taker in the kitchen department was helpful. The subcontractor for the demolition and painting and cabinet installation was excellent, and that's why HD gets an extra star. The countertop subcontractor, Precision Countertops, was dreadful, and because of their incompetence there were two different delays causing many weeks of no functional kitchen. Still waiting for Precision to get their act together (unlikely). The best I can hope for is that they manage to muddle through in spite of themselves and I actually get a proper quartz countertop. Their Customer Non-Service Representative is worse than useless. Because of their faulty measurements, my kitchen can't be completed. Precision seems to think that not having a functional stove is no big deal, and just basically said to wait a few more weeks. I also left a review for Precision, because they're that dreadful. Home Depot needs to choose its subcontractors more carefully. read more
