So, needed a flat cart for base cabinets. Other HD locations have them in the masonry aisle. Walked around the entire store and not a flat cart to be found. Found an associate up Front who was very helpful. He told me all the carts are located in the garden dept. which is located all the way on the right side of the store. He told me the manager makes the employees put them there. This is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard of. So, if you want cement or cinder blocks (( which is located all the way on the left side of the store) one has to travel all the way to the right side!!! The associate acknowledged it was a dumb idea and had heard many complaints but the manage doesn't seem to care. So I go to the garden dept to retrieve the hidden cart and guess what? Full of mud and wet from the morning watering! How am I going to put new wood cabinets on mud and water? Dumb, dumb, dumb! Obviously this manager hasn't worked in a trade to understand this. My first visit at this location. I was not able to get everything I needed at the Plano location, so I came here to try to complete my list of things I needed. First off, I think this location is one of the nicest, cleanest locations I've been to here in Frisco, Plano, and McKinney. After walking in, I could instantly notice the difference from the other stores in the area. Just felt very fresh to me. I walked around the store searching for my isle, it took me a little while to find it. Unfortunately, staff members walked past me multiple times, but no one ever came to offer me any assistance. This was the only down side to my visit. Some of the staff members looked like they really couldn't be bothered with a customer, so I didn't even bother asking anyone for help. Eventually, I found what I needed on my own, but they didn't have the full quantities I needed, so I had to head over to another location to try to finish getting the quantities I needed. Overall, I was impressed with how bright and clean the store was, service however, needs to work on being open to assist customers. read more

Tom the guy from pro desk is the most unprofessional rude person I've come across. While he was walking I simply asked if he was Pro Desk, he said he's at lunch and we need to wait 40 mins. Fine. He gets back and with his attitude tells me, wait while I finish this order. Ok. But his rude unprofessional demeanor continued with other clients near him and a fellow associate asking a simple question. The Smart Planet Succulents and shrubs had a great diversity here. Over all the stores garden department looked fantastic! Between the annuals, perennials, cactus and succulents... there was a lot to choose from! It was impressive! Especially after all the heat in the area for weeks. Chase in the paint department is awesome, we've had a few issue with getting the right match for the walls of the house. Each times we've been back with it not working (not his fault at all) he's explained very thoroughly why it may not be working and always has a solution to a fix and something we can try, and remembers us each time. I wish I had left other reviews but always get great service here. This is my go to location for personal items as well as corporate. I work for a company with over 300 locations & sadly for them, they often have issues using the account. This leads me to calling this McKinney store, which we shouldn't have to do, where they are always happily willing to check status. They are literally providing customer service for orders that other HD stores are making money off of! I wish there was a way to provide better recognition every time. Today I spoke with Bryce C who provided service that our Austin location could not get help on at the location at 1200 Home Depot Blvd down in Sunset Valley. Speaking strictly on the curbside experience, it was great. Ordering online was a breeze, the items I needed were all there (the HD closer to me was out of stock on everything), and the guy that brought out my order was friendly. The only thing I hated was that the 250lbs of sandbags I ordered were all opened at the top, so when the guy loaded my car and laid the bags on their sides, sand got everywhere. Not a fun thing to clean up in a sedan. Keeping them upright would've been appreciated. read more

I went in today and asked for assistance to make some key copies, which is required for auto and digital key copies. Worker 1 said they would get someone to help me. Three minutes later they came back and said the worker who could help me just clocked in and would be there shortly. Three more minutes pass and Worker 2 shows up. I ask for help with making the key copies and they said, "I don't know how to do that." I said politely, "Can we figure it out?" Worker 2 went off to look for another worker who could help. A few minutes pass and Worker 2 returns with Worker 3. They both say, "sorry, we can't do that." I point to the sign on the machine advertising the service. I also mention that I had the service done at another Home Depot weeks ago. Worker 3 said, "sorry, you'll have to go to a locksmith." I came back a second time today to purchase a couple doors. Similarly, I was told by Worker 1 that they would need to get help to bring the doors down from the top shelf. No one showed up. I asked another worker for help, who told me the same thing. Again, no one showed up. It seems all the workers are more interested in their phones and making post-work plans. How does this place stay in business? read more

Over many yours I've been a customer. Recently I have been involved in a significant project and have bought approximately $10,000 in building materials. The last of the project was a deck. I gave them a materials list and let them select the lumber. Mistake About 30% of the wood was of pallet quality. It was wrapped and unseen until at the job site. Worse, I'm on a deadline and had to make do. I spoke with an assistant manager and was offered a sincere apology. Personally I don't care about apologies, more into more tangible remuneration. The lady working the paint section was helping a gentleman and then it was my turn to be helped and there were people who were just walking up after we had been patiently standing waiting for her to finish up with the customer who was there before us for about 15 minutes, after the person in front of us got finished up she then ended up helping the people walking up randomly and walking them to the aisles they needed and just completely taking her time not getting on with our process at all. Then a older gentleman walks up with another home depot associate and the associate asks if the lady at the paint counter is helping us or needs to take care of us first and she responded with "I'm taking care of them but what do you need" and then the lady associate that walked up with the older gentleman starts to tell his problems and that takes another 10-15 minutes trying to figure out what's wrong with his paint. It was just a very long strung out process and I felt very disrespected , just because I appear to be a young adult doesn't mean I dont deserve the same level of respect. I'm giving 3 stars because we had 2 very different experiences within days of each other. My son was coming home on military leave for Thanksgiving and I wanted to price real trees so we could pick one up while he's home. The GENTLEMAN we encountered on our 1st visit was super friendly & helpful. We came back today ready to buy. My husband called me over to look at tree stands. I walked towards him but I guess I wandered into a forbidden area. There were no gates & I didn't notice any signs that said "no customers allowed". Perhaps I missed it. I was barked at by a bearded guy who chose to call me out in front of everyone like I was a 4 year old. I heard a very condescending "Ma'am!" and finger-motions followed by "OVER HERE". I felt like a naughty child being scolded. I left & took the $100 I planned to spend, went down the street to Lowes and spent it there. We're loving our 7ft Christmas tree from here! It's healthy and gorgeous--They did an amazing job trimming it and helping us load it on our Yukon. Very friendly guy too! I'm usually at this Home Depot every week to do some sort of home repair or renovation. All Associates are very helpful as soon as I step foot in the store. I would never get that type of service at Lowes. I usually know what I need to purchase but finding the items are sometimes a challenge since the store is so large. The Associates are knowledgeable and helpful in each department. Also, I think having maturer Associates work at Home Depot is a plus. They have a good sense of what good customer service is more so than younger employees in their 20's who usually don't like to be bothered if you have questions. I was returning some items I purchased with a gift card. The lady at the returns register had no idea how to issue a refund to a gift card. She called MANNY who took his time, played with his phone, and then came to her aid. They argued for several minutes on how to make a refund to the gift card. He said the only thing he could do was give me store credit. I told him I wanted cash or the money return to the gift card. He handed me a receipt and said the money was returned to the gift card. I checked the balance of the gift card and the money had not been returned on the card. MANNY was rude and he lied to me. I later went back to the store and met KELLY. He immediately said Manny did not put money on my gift card, but voided my purchase. He gave me cash. I hate when men look and treat women like we have no sense. Unfortunately the product I selected did not work and after applying 3 coats on 2 walls, the paint was not opaque enough to cover the stains. I has used up nearly 3 gallons of paint. I took back my empty cans and the unused ones to see if Home Depot would accept the return. The friendly store associate accepted the cans with no questions asked. Bought a new LG dryer on 3/25 and purchased the extended warranty. Not even 90 days old and the dryer is not working. Error codes are displayed. Called LG warranty number and the response is I will have to do some minor maintenance myself before they will come out. This requires disconnecting the vent tube plus other minor steps. They do not even know if this is the problem but I have to do it myself on a gas dryer. Lousy product and lousy service! About same time purchased a dishwasher from Lowes and experience issue with the pump. Lowes bent over backwards to accommodate and immediately sent a service rep out without asking questions.
