Doing a kitchen remodel is a pricy and lengthy process, so I did not want to be disappointed. I did my research and read many reviews about different products. Home Depot had a fantastic perk, with purchase. There was a choice of a free edging! If you have ever invested in a solid surface countertop before, you will be familiar with the fact that edging style can be very pricy, and of course, the one I had my heart set on was more expensive. Additional charges, such as demo, sink and faucet installation seemed excessive, so be prepared. Although, it would have been much more convenient, we passed on these. We have some skills, so opted to do the work ourselves. Unfortunately, there was no military discount allowed for special orders. Ugh. My family is thrilled with our new kitchen countertops! I believe that Home Depot is deceptive in their advertising. They claim to offer a military discount which is partially true. The discount applies to SOME products, SOME of the time. Also, they limit the discount to $400/year so if you want to make a purchase(s) larger than $4000 (for the entire year) best go to Lowes. I bought a GE washer dryer and refrigerator from Home Depot. The salesman was really nice so I gave a 3 for him. But the contractors who delivered my appliances were HORRIBLE!!!!!!!' 1st there were 2 guys one was rude. I live in a new development so he walks in to see the laundry room that's normal but then he goes you have an oval pipe so I can't hook up your dryer I asked him several times what it meant, I am clueless about washer and dryers so he just left the dryer in the laundry room. So now what do I do???? I went over to Home Depot to explain to one of the employees what happened and he gave me an round to oval connector to buy. Of course I go back home to try to connect the dryer and the pipe and the connector was the same size. I don't know whether to bent the pipe to make it fit the the adapter or buy a bigger adapter. Needless to say I let the dryer sit for a week because I was so annoyed! A week later my moving people were moving in my furniture and I asked if they could help me with it and of course he connected my dryer in less than 3 minutes! Yes he got a big tip!! Now let's talk about the refrigerator!!! The contractors just plugged it in and left! I'm talking they left all of the trays out with plastic and tape and I had to remove all the packaging from all of the trays and drawers ii. Addition to removing plastic and card Board myself he even left plastic on the outside of my fridge!!! For 4K in appliances I would think Home Depot would do a better job screening their contractors. My daughter bought a new home and all her appliances from Lowes and they hooked her appliances up and added her trays removed all packaging and all of her appliances was good to go! I was so mad I forgot to take pics to show how my appliances were delivered. Anyway lesson learned next time go to Lowes! read more

I bounce back-and-forth between The Home Depot and Lowe's as probably most people do. It seems as when one store is offering a great deal the other is not and vice versa. Generally speaking I would have to say I go to Lowe's more often. With that being said this Home Depot has seemed to step it up a notch with their customer service lately. I just bought a smoker for less than half of the price of what they normally would be, and the associates were eager to help me put it in my car and take it out to my car and unload it. I did not ask him to help me with this they volunteered on their own which says a lot. Customer service can go along way I will probably visit here before Lowe's again next just because of that. If you haven't been to this Home Depot in a while I was suggest giving them another try they have gotten much better than in the past. read more

In my experience, the customer service just sucks at this location. Time and time again, visit after visit, the staff talking to each other is more important than taking care of customers. Today's visit I looked at cordless mowers - Go, or Igo , or Ego or something like that, that get great reviews. Here in 2 places - endcap box stack and in a bin marked 'parts' with no prices - same as end cap. Look for staff - talking! I give up... Need some real hardware - look as hard as I can, ask a pair of staffers if they help with hardware. "Sure" and back to talking. For some reason I have to specifically ask if they would direct me to someone to help me. Wow! End up at self check - backed up 5 customers with 5 registers busy. A staffer asks to help, walks me to service counter. While sorting and counting real hardware - you know, with ABC, ABD, ABE marks and such - stops to talk with another staffer. I just left and went to Tractor Supply - cheaper, and they act like my coming there is somehow connected to their paychecks! Oh the allure of the hot dog cart on the weekend home depot trip. Growing up the best part of going to home depot on the weekend is my dad buying me a dollar hot dog and dollar soda. There is something so inviting about the hot dog cart that makes eating hotdog water hotdogs so special. It's not the same as these food stands that are towed to Lowes and kMart it's the cart, all the power is in the cart. I've questioned my allegiance to Home Depot and Lowe's over the years. This Home Depot is closer to Lowe's then my house so it gets priority when we need something. I have always had an internal debate on Home Depots hiring practices. When Home Depot was expanding in the late 90s they would hire professionals in their 40s that had experience and could actually help you, I loved shopping then, because the personnel could actually answer a question. In the late 00s it looked like they hired all teenagers, but there were a metric ton of them around so they could point you to an item, but not necessarily help you. Now in the mid 10s it looks like they've brought back the some senior personnel, but I think they've missed their mark in the experience and professional of these personnel. What's my point? Do your own research before going in, just because the personnel seem to be seasoned remember that they are working at Home Depot. Do they actually know anything about the products... not anymore then they read on the box. The plus side is they do have free wifi in the store. It has came in handy quite a few times to look up items. I trust google a lot more to tell me the difference between a D140 and D150 John Deere, if the door handle is reversible, or what the warrant is on the dryer. All things the employees were completely incorrect on. Oh... stars... a five for location... on any given day their employees are are a five or one... their probability of having the item I want or need a three... and a one for the hot dog cart not being out front one the weekend like they where at the Home Depots of the past... read more

I very seldom shop at this store. The other review was written a about another location. This is the Rt. 360 Chattanooga Plaza store. Of all my shopping experiences in years, this was the best service I've had in a long time.....first as I reported in my previous review, I can't find"Jack" in a supply store....like HD, Lowes, & Pleasants, but I didn't look for Jack...HOWEVER, I did find LYNN, WOW, does she know that business, from Isle 1 and up, every item location & how to check out w/ speed two racks of supplies, plus how to service and clearly handle every facet of the HD business. As she was working she turned and I saw this bundle and I do mean a bundle around her back, eventually I simply asked what all the round patches were....they were like on a clip for keys. I asked what they were for...the patches were for........catch this......ALL for outstanding customer service. Should'a known! I normally write reviews on restaurants, but this past week, I had to write one on an employee and thus a business....Home Depot. As a former retailer/buyer & wholesale salesman over the years....I've never seen so many outstanding achievement awards. There must have have been 30 or 40 or it seemed like it. Of course I just had to ask more about them. I don't think that was even all of them........,more awards would have made it difficult to operate. Here is my Home Depot - Romanoff shower replacement experience: HD insists all homeowners be present. This is simply to avoid an absent spouse from wanting out. Two, they offer discount signing bonus if signed that day. This is to avoid competition. Three, HD insists on 100% payment upfront (California max is 10%) leaving the customer with no leverage! Up to 6 feet of subfloor replacement was to be included and verified by phone call. I regret initiating installation. The newly installed shower panels were up to an inch and a quarter apart and the caulk would flake off to the touch. Panels were poorly cut and bowed. There was wall damage. They claimed subfloor replacement was not needed but was given NO compensation whatsoever! Responses from HD and their website relentlessly trumpets how "professionally qualified and rigorously screened" their workers are. There is a tsunami of HD poor reviews and paucity of good reviews on the internet (Angie's List, BBB, Houzz, NOT HD website) so I thought I would need someone else fix it and possible go to court. I had to pay to get the testimony of a plumber who has done this type of work and take pictures and videos. To the subcontractors credit they offered to fix it and I genuinely appreciate that. The contract was signed 4/4/20 and final inspection was 7/19/20. The removal of a fiberglass and installation of an acrylic shower should not take 15 weeks and cost $7880 dollars, a price FAR above estimates from Home Advisor, Cost Helper, Fixr and Angie's List. read more

This Home Depot is great. Everything is easy to find and you don't have to walk all over the store. The staff are willing to answer questions and point you in the right direction. The ladies behind the counter cutting keys were awesome. I had a fussy baby in one arm trying to pick out a key and a lady came around and took the key off of the shelf for me. I wish they had a bigger selection of garden pavers but other than that I can't find anything to complain about! read more

PSA...Home Depot is not worth your time or money!! I have been on the phone with them since June 2nd due to my Whirpool refrigerator not working. We noticed something was wrong with it Memorial Day 2017. After going through the correct steps to make an appointment for someone to come out and look at it and fix it...I am still without a refrigerator. I have a five year warranty. With this warranty they are supposed to replace all food that was lost, supposed to service my refrigerator when it is needed, and it supposed be done in a timely matter. As you can see it is now June 26 and I have still not had an appointment to fix or replace it. We spent a whole day waiting for the mechanic to fix my refrigerator. When he showed up, Marvin, the refrigerator guy, stayed it "we lost our contract with whirlpool a week ago." ( mind you I had this appointment scheduled 3 weeks earlier. So someone should have fixed that problem before they walked through the door). I was then given a phone number to whirlpool to set another appointment with them. I called that number and it was not whirlpools number. I then called the Home Depot warranty Dept again to see what in the world was going on and was given another number. After being on the phone 3 hrs and speaking to 7 people, I still did not have an appointment. I called my husband and he called the warranty dept and retold our story. He was told a manager would call him on 24 hrs. Guess what?!! 24 hours later...no phone call and no appt. while my husband was traveling on business he made numerous calls to the warranty department, spoke to corporate and guess what?!!! Still no appointment!!! We are 24 days in and still no fridge with no results and no call from a manager. We even went to the Home Depot store with no help . I need some help here... any suggestions? I have even threatened to drop it off in front of Home Depot just for junk. But, I would still be out of a refrigerator. It is only 2 years old!!! No managers help, no corporate help, still no appointment and still no refrigerator!! Please repost! read more
