    This Home Depot calls itself the North Shore Home Depot. The depth of how crappy this store is cannot be overstated. I don't let my wife even shop here because it doesn't feel safe. Product on the shelf is not organized, so you have to verify everything and never trust a shelf label. They are not using any basic inventory system. If you need 4 specific plumbing parts you find 3 and have to look through 20 random boxes in that area to find them. When I buy lumber it is clear no one is removing the rejected pieces often enough so there is not fresh stock. Last week many of the prices are just missing in the lumber section so you have to guess or bring someone over to scan to know what things cost. I always take a photo of the price slip because pretty consistently either the cashier won't ring something up correctly or their computer system doesn't have the right price. The cashiers literally use my phone photos to check me out correctly. Employees are generally friendly but you can tell this is just a job and are clueless if you have even the most basic question about product or process. Whatever staffing model HD uses is also not working as there seems to be twice as many employees walking around that store than needed. Even with all these flaws this store is always busy because it's the only option we have. On the positive side, if someone capable would be running this store correctly it could be a gold mine.

    I've always been a firm believer in recognizing what you need before you actually go in and get it. I have never expected to go to any home improvement store and receive the kind of knowledge that I can't gain from personal research. Only once in a blue moon do you find anyone, at these kind of places, that can actually give you some sound advice. Home improvement generally speaking is the place where you go get materials to do whatever needs to be done. This particular Home Depot I find to be decent and the biggest plus, it's so close to home! That makes going to rent tools or buy any merchandise I need to complete a project a breeze. I did end up purchasing a kitchen suite from this location and I had solid service during that whole exchange. For those reasons Home Depot Northshore works and is my go to, to make it happen, weekend after weekend!

    This review is not about Home Depot, directly. But it's concerning the shipping company they use. Then again I didn't choose the shipping company. (So they represent Home Depot) I recently purchased a riding mower online from HD. The first mower I sent back was because I couldn't find the key. And when I went to a store to see, I could get it there. An associate said something about the mower was a factory imperfect. So I went home and called to have it picked up. And I ordered another brand. Then, while I was getting it ready for pick up, I found the key zipped tied to the side discharge chute(which I wasn't planning on using, so I never would have found). Anyway it goes back and a few days later the second one arrives. They pull it off the truck on two little carts. No box, no protective wrapping. I asked them, " Where's the box?" They say something about the boxes get tore up and some customers have them get rid of them. I don't have a problem with the mower, so far it's all good. The problem I have is paying full price for an open box item. I called and spoke with someone at customer support. All they said was that's how the shipping company delivers. I mean, this can't be right. If I'm paying a couple thousand dollars for a product. I expect to receive it the way it comes from the factory. In a protective container with all the items it comes with and a packing list. Anyway, I just needed to do a little venting because customer support was no help at all. Oh, they did ask if I wanted to send it back. (The mowers, not the problem). PEACE

    On the one hand, it's Home Depot. So, of course there's tons of stock at competitive prices. On the other hand...the service. Oy. I actually heard a gentleman who asked a Home Depot associate if someone could help him get a 50lb bag of something off a shelf be told she didn't think there was anyone who could help him (of the dozens of Home Depot associates around the store...none could help this guy? I find that surprising). Then, we were looking at some landscape bricks. Most were well marked with their price, but of course the ones we needed for our project didn't have a price. So, we asked a worker how much they were. His response: "Did you look online? Because that's all I'm going to do." Fair enough. I should mention, though, the service at the actual check out counters was quite friendly. All in all? A perplexing experience.
