This is a fine and typically spacious and well stocked Home Depot. We don't come to this location very often as it is not the closest to our home but it is in the same shopping mall as our go-to Costco. There is plenty of parking and the entrance and exit areas are relatively uncongested. Today, we checked the garden department to see if they had anything to help a couple of our relatively lifeless orchids and we found something to try anyway. We recently purchased flooring and there was a mistake in the ordering process. After weeks of delays and problems with the order, the project is complete. Installation was 5 star, professional, meticulous and efficient. Marina, Stephanie and Ashur were very helpful throughout the process and went out of their way to correct the error. The manager rudely accused me of asking for a discount for purchasing an item that was mis priced by staff. What went well for me was the costumer service one of the biggest reasons I shop here!!! Today I went to re buy some storage bins. As soon as you walk in the customer service is juts great.A really professional woman came to my wife and greeted us with a welcome to the store to a my I help you find something! I didn't catch her name but amazing customer service! I had a question about one of the products I was going to buy. I went to look for someone to assist me. I asked a gentleman that I had a question about a product he responded with a give me a second. But never came back! As I was going to go look for another employee Mariel was passing by and asked if we needed help with anything so I told her I had a question about to product. My husband and I bought all our appliances at Home Depot, including the stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. On delivery day, everything seemed normal. We checked everything prior to installation, but as the days went by, we realized that the washing machine was washing with hot water. We called Home Depot, and they came and fixed the hoses that were backwards. Then we realized that the refrigerator doors were not aligned properly and that the microwave was damaged on one of the bottom corners, which we didn't see until after installation. We called Home Depot to explain what was happening, and they told us they couldn't do anything because the 48-hour claim period had already passed. They contacted LG, and LG sent a technician who told us that the microwave had been damaged during installation and that the refrigerator was missing a leg. That same technician realized that the stove was installed incorrectly. He checked my dishwasher and said it was installed incorrectly, which was why there was so much moisture inside, and that my dryer was also installed incorrectly. He gave us a report and an estimate of how much it would cost us if we wanted to have everything installed correctly was $900 for a re-installation of everything. I called Home Depot to explain everything. They promised me they would fix it. I called again and there was no record of everything they had told me during my previous call. They sent some technicians who told me they were going to replace the microwave, fix the refrigerator, and get in touch with me. Days went by with no communication from them, so I contacted them again. They had no record of anything. It seems like all they want to do is delay the matter and make you look like a fool. Emails were sent to the manager of the store where everything was purchased, and we never got a response. Now I'm stuck with a refrigerator that has a horrible design and uneven doors, a damaged microwave, a stove, and a dishwasher that washes but doesn't dry because they were installed incorrectly, and Home Depot won't do anything about it. We regret buying from Home Depot so much, think twice before buying from them. read more

Quick quarantine update: Home Depot has several COVID-19 protocols in play. There are plexiglass surrounding the self-checkout kiosks, and several sanitation stations at the entrance and exit of the store. You can find all sorts of stuff for your home and The Home Depot. I sometimes like coming here over Menards, although I feel like Menards have better prices. But, in terms of selection/variety, The Home Depot has Menards beat. And, there's the Home Depot "smell" -- a sweet mixture of freshly chopped wood, and saw dust. Mmm, mmm, good. This review is for the tool rental department only. My son brought his car home from college and it smelled like something died in there... so I came in to rent a portable shampoo machine. The rental guys really knew their stuff--very helpful advice! Anyway, the shampoo machine worked like a charm. I ended up using it for between 9-10 hours and I shampooed two cars. The rental was less than $30 + the shampoo (which was about $15). Quite a bit less than the $150+ you can expect to pay to have one car shampooed. By the way, I've never used a machine like this before. Anyone can do it. It did take me about half of the first car to figure it out, but once I did it was good. read more

Whatever your project is, at the end we all end up here. Home depo- the church for religion of renovation/projects. Definitely fully stuffed with everything you need. The prices are not the greatest since we found the same things cheaper at the other places, but you definitely don't want to lose your time going to many places because of the price when you can get all things in one place. This location has a good selection of different home improvement and garden items. Nonetheless the service lately has gone down a lot. It's hard to find people to help out, and when you do, they often are not super knowledgeable which is a shame because it wasn't like that before. There are much less check out aisles too (mostly self checkout) and less employees in general. The service desk, due to only having one employee many times, also moved super slowly. If you know what you need and where it is located, this is a quick location to buy something and be in and out. If you are needing more assistance ie) working on a project and need some advice or needing a return or exchange, it's definitely difficult to find someone to help out, and easier just to visit Menards. Hopefully in the future these issues get addressed because it is otherwise a great store. read more

I'm writing this review bc Anna K from the paint department was super friendly and awesome! I just bought a new place and am repainting everything white. I'm also doing my cabinets white but I needed a different shade. A few weeks ago I bought a few testers and picked one out, then I went and bought the gallon and quart size in the color I wanted for the cabinets. I realized when we opened up the colors that they were totally different colors! I went back to the store and customer service directed me to be helped by the paint department. Anna was there to help me figure out what went wrong and helped us find the right color. I like the Home Depot. Just walking around gives me ideals for my house. I get my barbeque wood and charcoal. The next time,when I've been here,Nicholas in plumbing and Jose in hardware/plumbing were so helpful. This past Saturday, they saved us hundreds by helping us with our unexpected bathroom project. We wanted to just change our wax ring in our master to be proactive but uncovered a larger project. The flange where the toilet sits on was totally corroded and we couldn't get the screws back on. They walked us through the most efficient way for non-plumbers like us to put our bathroom back in order. I highly recommend this store and these two guys are amazing. Thank you! read more

I am remodeling my house and have to come here several times a week, sometimes even several times a day. I've been to just about every department at this store. Recently I came to buy some flooring and needed help finding out if they had more of the floor that I was buying in stock. I found a gentleman and he scanned the barcode and said there were 30 boxes, but the shelf only had 18. He said that the lady in charge of the flooring department could help me find them. I searched for that person and couldn't find them. The store seemed deserted. When she finally appeared after 10 minutes of me wandering, she said that sometimes the system has the wrong number. So since I couldn't buy enough of them, I had to drive to another location. The other Home Depot (Naperville) had like 5 people working in flooring and I was able to get the help I needed. read more

I ordered vinyl plank flooring for my living room in the beginning of October, it was delivered one week prior to the installation. When the installers came, they said they needed an additional $4000 to level my floor! I told them to take their tools and leave! Now I have a new installer and when we opened the box, we realized that they did not include the quarter round that I paid for. Now the installer had to go get more! I absolutely have to give kudos (again!) to the awesome staff at this location, specifically a gentlemen named Nick K., who I was so impressed with! I took my 2 year old in so we could pick up some veggies and plants for our greenhouse. Upon walking in, I went about putting my son in the cart and buckling him when this kind employee came up to me and asked if I would like to have a race car cart instead of the normal one for my little boy. I said that would be great, but since I couldn't see one anywhere around us, I said we were fine. He said it would only be a second and then he went OUTSIDE to get one that was in the stall. I understand that this is a relatively small thing, but it was a small and simple thing that made my little guy so so happy. And to me, it's all about the small things. Thank you again, Nick! Product racks of weed be gone products all with the same "mix and match two for $20" signs, but one of the items I purchased from the racks wasn't included. I showed the sign and couldn't believe it wasn't part of the mix and match as the cashier said either "two big ones or two small ones" when the photo on the signs that said "mix and match" showed a big and small item, manager came over had to scan in the product that ended up not included and it's SKU number wasn't listed on the signs (sku numbers are not on the products, they need to scanned in like when you buy it, which is too late and what happened to me) they offer nothing or any explanation how any customer would know any of the products was not included in the special based on the display of the items and signs. A case of misleading, deceptive and false advertising, which they did not attempt honor. I ended up returning the items. The manager was moving one of the signs off of one of the racks (the three racks were lined up together at the entrance) after I finished my returns. All n all a very bad experience, a confusing cashier and a piss poor so called manager. read more

I made an online order, store pick up at Home Depot Randhurst #1913, at 350 East Kensington Mount Prospect, IL 60056, on 7/6/2022, paid with Home Depot gift cards. The store called me saying they couldn't fulfill the order and have to cancel it. My Home Depot gift cards were not refunded, I called 1-800-HOMEDEPOT, and was told since I paid with gift cards, and the store touched the order, I have to go to the customer service at the store to get a refund, how convenient it is? On 7/16/2022, I went to the customer service at Home Depot, Randhurst. It showed I am due the refund but when the CS representative tried to process the refund, he got an error. Three people came try to fix the problem to no avail. So one person called 1-800-HOMEDEPOT, I waited there for almost an hour and was told they are going to refund me with a digital gift card, but I wouldn't get any confirmation, until after three business days. Then here came someone called Sabrina, I just said it is ridiculous to have four people (including the one on the phone) spending so much time for a refund. Sabrina didn't have one word of apology, but told me: "calm down, don't raise your voice", and I said I didn't raise my voice, she said keep your voice down or I am going to ask you to leave and if you don't, I'll call the police. At that moment I voluntarily left and I didn't get my refund. In summary, my order was cancelled by Home Depot, I was told I have to get my refund in the store. drove 12 miles to the store, spent an hour there, didn't get my money back, and was threatened to have police escort me out of the store. read more

Purchased a wash machine and had a fairly quick delivery date given to me. I have no issue with the store or the sales person who helped me with my purchase. But buyer beware when it was delivered the delivery man told me that they could not install it because the cold water valve from the wall to the washing machine was corroded and leaking and that I need to call a plumber. I called my plumber, he came out and charged me a $100 service call telling me that there's nothing wrong with the valve and there is no corrosion. I will never purchase a major appliance from Home Depot with this kind of delivery and installation service - or lack thereof. read more

This location (Randhurst) had just the item we were looking for, but only a floor model (with no tags). Two employees, Thomas and (I'm sorry to say I can't remember the other associate's name) were working hard to try and track down another one for us at other locations, to no avail. So we tried finding it elsewhere with no luck. I came back the next day and the manager on duty (Danuta) could not have been friendlier. Long story short, she and another associate (Nathan) were exceptionally helpful and got things figured out so that we were able to purchase the floor model and be on our way. All told, 4 people went out of their way to help us. Excellent ambassadors for your business. Will be glad to do business at Randhurst Home Depot again. read more

I came for the gardening section and the bathroom, I stayed for the, uhm, well, I guess I only stayed because I got lost and couldn't find the person I came in with and they kept shutting down aisles for forklifts to go through and it was like that part in Labyrinth when Sarah realizes that even though Jareth is ridiculously hot, he might have some ugly sh*t up his sleeve and possibly having goblins change the maze around on her. You know, typical guy stuff. So anyway, I came here for snake plants and possibly planters, but the selection here was a little sad. They looked like the plants I already have that the cats chewed on and then swiftly died. So that plan went out the window. And then since we were there I got the bright idea that we could just 'browse' for items that would help me create half the sh*t I've pinned on Pinterest, only to me, browsing here feels like what I think browsing might feel like to my boyfriend at Target. So we skipped to a more streamlined plan and asked for the one thing my boo was actually interested in purchasing: a vice. So the boo decides to wander aimlessly looking for the vice, I decide to ask a guy who works there. You'd think it's be a simple answer, but of course it's not. He then makes a big deal out it and what kind of vice, because apparently there are 5 million different kinds and I can't just be directed to one area of the store that houses all of them... until my boo comes over and then the answers get a lot simpler and as it turns out they do all live together in the same section and it never had to be a thing, they just wanted me to work for the answer. We gave 2 stars because the installers did a good job and the finished product was good, however it was not worth the aggravation and stress of working with Home Depot and their outsourced company (The Countertop Factory). Unfamiliar with this particular store and not knowing what types of screws and bulbs to purchase, the staff here were so helpful. There was literally a salesperson in every aisle if you needed help. Maybe this was because it was a Saturday afternoon? We spent more $ than we intended (great prices on cleaning products and trash bags!), but we will definitely be back because the level of CS was that outstanding. Well , Friday was the day! Installation #2. Our October order was being delivered again! Took more time off work and waited for the inevitable disappointment. And I was not...disappointed? Installers (great guys-I've gotten to know them...hopefully we'll have something to install) pull up on time, unload door AND (drum roll) it's damaged!!!! In a couple spots. I believe HD knew, but I'll leave that alone. Call back...cut off twice (not bitching about THAT but it did add to the fun). Rep finally gets on "We'll it will be 4-6 weeks for a new one". I say "really? That's how your going to handle this? No empathy? No apology? FF-Calls back-We can do touch up paint...or maybe a discount? I'm like fine, I will take a 50% discount. Them: For a nick? Me: that's no nick, it's a gouge! And...there is another defect. Them: Apologized for minimizing ME: it's OK but you're trying to sell me damaged goods. That have been in order since Oct. I've taken two days off & boarded my dogs. "Stuff" happens but you must fix. Them: We'll call back. That was 10:50 AM Friday. Can you guess if I received a call??? 3/10-Update-Called at beginning of March and requested a manager. Asst Manager Frank picks up phone and listens attentively as I describe in agonizing detail with shards of ironic humor my odyssey with the $@!%^& door. I am compelled to mention that I've not even received a apology. Frank (?) offers a brief apology & with youthful enthusiasm states that he'll research and he'll call back TODAY! He's determined to communicate that he knows this must be tough...but he WILL call back! If you are reading...can you guess what happened? Did the seemingly earnest Home Depot manager inhale confidently, determined to live out the credo "The buck stops here!" and "I will turn this guy who was relentlessly screwed over by my company around and make him love Home Depot!" This review is for the flooring department. I did not get the name of the guy that first helped us but he was very knowledgeable and helpful about the different types of flooring. And then Susan helped us with the appointments to get the measurements and described the different types of floorings and the process. She was so thorough and patient with us. We had made so many visits previously to different Home Depots and we had never experienced such organized and friendly staff!! We are moving to this area and we will definitely be making more trips to this particular location. With so many different options nowadays with flooring, you need someone who knows what they are selling. Also, we had done a lot of projects through Home Depot in the past but we learned so much about the different services that we knew never existed! Keep up the good work Susan and crew~~ read more
