We rented a dingo from this Home Depot at time of rental. We were not told to replace fuel or clean off machine. The machine itself kept overheating and we were only able to run it for about 3 hours total. Would have to turn the machine for 45 minutes to cool down to then be able to run it for 4-10 minutes. They did a remodel for a small condo kitchen. Initially agreed on a price and signed a contract with Citibank to finance it. Well that became due four months before they could start the project. A month after they amended the contract and required cash to continue the project. Finally started and and rebuilt the kitchen sink counter and after they were complete, I went to install the dishwasher and the counter was not deep enough. I said there was a dishwasher here before and now the counter is too shallow. They replied I didn't order a custom cabinet. Wait you measured 3 times with 3 guys for a replacement, crickets.. Can I return the dishwasher I bought, sorry all sales are final. For Thirty Thousand dollars I feel I was ripped off. Never again will I deal with Home Depot or Citi Bank, they charge a late fee when it was not late. read more

There is no reason why a person who is returning items should have to wait in the line outside. I get it if you are returning and then going to shop but if you are returning and going to leave. You should be able to just go to the return desk. And yes I know that it is about the number of people in the store then make a different line or let us go in the pro line. read more

As far as Home Depot's go, I give this store a 4 Star rating as most of the employees here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Store mostly has an adequate supply of the things that I personally need, and pricing seems to be fair. Do your research before you buy anything of value, such as more expensive items like Appliances or Ceiling Fans, etc. They do offer a great variety of these items, but make sure you do your homework so that you can't complain of the price you pay if you happen to find something later for less money. The rental department is pretty great as well. I've rented many items from here, and only once had a problem with the machine. However, I returned it and they gave me another one and adjusted the rental costs and timeframe. read more

The store employee who assisted me while buying a storm door took far too long trying to enter the order into the computer - multiple times logging in and out of his computer systems. What should have taken 15 minutes instead took an hour because their dinosaur systems do not talk to each other. This is with reference to the Paint department specifically. Normally, I have a pretty good experience with the customer service and supplies at the rest of the store. But oh my god! Their paint department! I bought paint for the whole exterior of my 4,000sf home and my 4,500sf shop. It took 5 trips and 3 months to get the paint! Every time I went in there it was someone different, with a different story. Was not special order either. Was from their regular line of Behr off-the-shelf colors! I'd spend an hour at the paint desk, then they'd send me to the service counter up front, then back to the paint desk. Every single time! After 3 months I finally received the paint. Most of it in 1 gallon buckets even though I ordered 5 gallon buckets. Holy cow! And yes, it took an hour that time to pick up the paint! Fast forward to the interior of my home. I called the paint desk and asked to order a sample for testing. Dena' at the desk says "no problem! We'll have it ready for you to pick up in an hour." Great I'm thinking. So I give them a few extra hours just to be sure and go down there. 3 people at the paint desk and 3 people waiting. I can see they are confused and busy and not one of them looked at me for 15 minutes while I patiently waited in front of the counter. Finally, someone says "can I help you?". I explain that Dena' made a paint sample for me and pointed at a sample over in the corner of their counter and asked "I wonder, could that be it?". I was quickly dismissed with a "No!" And she asked what sample I wanted. I assured her that I was told one had been made but gave her the paint sample card. She looked at it and walked away. 10 minutes later, she hands me 2 paint sample jars, both of the wrong color. When she did I said "well, I only ordered one sample and neither of these are it (Sonoran desert)". She asked to see the card again and said something under her breath about a customer ordering 2 color samples and proceeded to look at her computer screen, I assume to make up the sample I asked for. In the meantime, it's been 45 minutes now. Over the PA comes an announcement "Store is closing in 5 minutes, please bring your purchases to the front". Finally, another person comes to the paint counter and I ask her "Is your name Dena'?". She said she was and I reminded her of my order. She said "Yes, it's right here in the corner." You know, the paint sample I pointed out to the first person 45 minutes ago asking if that could be it! The other girl said "it was there all the time?" And just shrugged her shoulders. OK, so now it's been a week and I need a different color. I call again to order a paint sample. The person (a male) responds "I can't do that over the phone unless you pay for it". I said "no problem, how do I do that?". He tells me he'll give me a SKU number and transfer me to the service desk. Once they tell him it's been paid for he can make up the sample. He takes 10 minutes to find the paint color that I am reading to him directly from the color card I got from their sample panel, again, Behr paint, standard color "Loft Light". He keeps repeating "I'm not coming up with any color called "lost light". I finally broke it down into military jargon, you know, "Lima, Oscar, Frank, Tango, Lima, Indigo, Golf, Tango". He finally finds it, gives me a sku number and transfers me to the service desk. The person there tells me "I can't take your order for this, you'll either have to come down or order it on line". So, that's my story. That's it. I thanked her and hung up the phone and called Lowes. I'll never, ever, buy paint from Home Depot again. They simply do not know what they are doing and care nothing about helping a customer. I'm done with them. read more

I called the Nampa tool rental to reserve a high speed buffer to be rented. They gave me a low speed floor scrubber instead. The tool look very similar until you turn them on. The main difference is one has 300 rpm and the other has 1500 rpm. When I brought it back the tool crib guy said we don't have any high speed burnishes. They made no attempt to rectify the issue or make any compensation for their mistake. I'll never be back and considering canceling my business credit card in Boise. These people suck!!! read more

I love Home Depot, but seem to be having issues with a few of the Nampa store's employees. I went to HD today and got a few things. When I showed my military ID to the employee at the self-checkout she gave me a look like I had done something terrible. This was not my first encounter with Vane Normally employees are friendly and have some sort of greeting, others even say "thank you for your service". Personally I need neither, but I surely don't deserve a dirty look for asking for my military discount. I called and spoke to "the manager" (Mike). I explained what had happened and he said he would talk to Vanessa. If Vanessa treats all customers like this she should be removed. If she has an issue with Veterans, it would be a good idea to relocate her before she's RUDE to a Vet who may be dealing with PTSD. Either way, customers should NEVER be treated like we're an inconvenience to an employee who is being paid to help us! UPDATE: I've been to Home Depot several times since this post and am amazed at the great attitudes! I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one commenting but am happy with the change. I use to go into this store Nampa, Idaho 3 to 4 times per month. The last time I went in on September 3, 2013, I couldn't get anyone to assist me in finding my items. I do not like leaving negative reviews. It has taken me a long time to finally review Home Depot. The customer service is absolutely terrible. No one will help you here ever. No one knows where anything is and won't even try to figure it out. They will flat out tell you "I don't know" and leave it at that. I have come here multiple times and each time I am extremely disappointed with the service. They really need to establish better training. I know Customer Service is lacking in general in this day and age but it is unacceptable for a business to have such lazy workers. No one has knowledge of anything here. I will forever go to Lowe's instead. The customer service is so much better at Lowe's. Anytime I go there and need assistance, they're willing to help and are generally very knowledgeable about the products they sell. If they are not sure they will find out for you. I'm giving the two stars to the nice HD staff member who spent a lot of time trying to explain their complex appliance policies. I've purchased most of my appliances from HD over the years because they made it easy with good sales and free delivery, haul-away, and installation. Apparently, things have changed. I called their customer service number to get their pricing details before arriving, however, when I got to the store, there seemed to be a discrepancy and none of the info I received was accurate (I suspect that they have farmed out their 1-800 customer service line to a 3rd party vendor.) I brought with me a coupon card that I received in the mail. I was informed that I had to choose either the sale price OR the coupon...not both. Nowhere on the card did it say that I couldn't use the discount on sale items. Then, we discovered that the power cord was not included with the appliance. Their price for a simple power cord? $20.96 for what is normally a $9-11 purchase. When I pointed out that a power cord in their store costs $17.99 not $20.96 there was no explanation. In addition, there is now a $15. fee for haul-away of your old appliance. Additional charges: dryer duct $24.99, move old appliance to another room $15.00. In the past, all this nickel and dime-ing was the very thing that sent me to HD in the first place. They used to keep things simple and customer-centric. I guess those days are over. Their new policies could be the reason why their store is so empty. Btw, I took a hop-skip over to Best Buy, who offered a lower sales price on the same item, allowed me to use a coupon on top of the sales price, and offered free delivery and haul-away. Overall, I saved $48 over HD and the whole thing took just a few minutes. It always pays to comparison shop. read more

So here's the deal. I am super unhappy with the way I was treated during a delivery of a custom $1800 cabinet!!! Over the last I don't even know how many years we have been a loyal customer... we have had nothing but issues with this Home Depot in Nampa. I paid for the cabinet and told the lady placing the order it was for delivery! Well they didn't deliver it. Customer service called me and told me that it was ready for pickup and I informed them that it was supposed to be delivered. She told me that's fine I will get that fixed for you. Well fast forward a week and when I got the order in my email it said... outdoor delivery... it was snowing outside and I'm not happy about it being left out there. So we called to make sure they will at least put it in the doorway. They told us "no problem". On May 10 it was delivered at 7pm and they dropped it off in my driveway and left. I didn't even have a chance to talk to them. We called Home Depot and they told us that the manager would come by the following day and bring it in the house. I got a call the following day and the lady told me that they can't do anything because I live in Emmett. Well guess what here in Emmett it rained the following day. So being a single mother I had to bring this 8 foot cabinet into the house with the help of my 9 year old son. So who lost all business with me for a complete kitchen remodel? These jackasses did. I'm not giving this company anymore of my hard earned money. Btw to have the cabinet put inside the house was $20... $20 freaking dollars. My boyfriend and I went and rented a floor sander so we could redo our patio floor and the man who came and helped us didn't give us everything we needed, missing the pad that goes between the sander and the sand paper, so we get it home and it's just not working. I thought it was maybe my fault like I just wasn't doing it correctly because I've never operated one before so I said "oh well I'll just take it back and figure something else out it's only fifty bucks." We took it back within four hours and I explained to the woman who helped us return it that it just did not work at all and she said well you are missing the sander pad. I replied and said the man who helped us said this was all we needed so I wasn't aware we needed other hardware for this. She very rudely said "well why would you keep it for three hours if it wasn't working?" It wasn't so much the comment as it was her very rude tone and lack of customer service that frustrated me. I went and paid full price for this equipment and didn't get what I paid for. She still charged me and continued to say how if I was having problems I should've called and all this other stuff. No...I should've been given the proper tools while I was there bottom line. I would've expected them to offer to give me the sander pad and keep it for another four hours maybe or something to compensate for not giving me what I originally paid for. I Purchased a Samsung washer and dryer from the Nampa Home Depot. Was scheduled for delivery on a Saturday paid in full but did not get it delivered till the next Tuesday. Christmas was the next week and we were having family I have a newborn and I needed this washer and dryer. I was told that the delivery Service one of the gentleman had broken his leg and we were not able to get our washer and dryer in the time frame. I asked if we would get it delivered the next day which would be in Sunday I would very unhappy to find out they told me the delivery schedule on Monday was completely full and we would not receive our washer and dryer till the Tuesday so we're talking four days late they did not compensate us for our inconvenience will not buy another appliance from Home Depot at that store! read more

But once I got to the key aisle I waited for 20 minutes for help while watching at least 6 associates walk by and gather around at the end of the aisle to shoot the breeze. we purchased a washing machine from Home Depot a week later we got it laundry was piling up. the Delivery people scratched it going thru the door. then they hooked it up and started the machine. they did not look inside the washing machine tub and left. when I got home I heard a beeping sound which was coming from the washing machine, went and seen a code flashing and started looking for the Manuel opened the lid and there it was in the tub all shredded and paper blocking a lot of drain holes. called home Depot and they said that they were sorry and would look for another one. got a call back from them and they said it would be next Tuesday so we have to wait another week for our purchase and get to go to the laundry matt with no compensation read more

The only people giving the Nampa Home Depot good reviews are probably management. I've spent the summer in and out of this place purchasing products for my home renovations and as always I leave wondering why this place is still under the same management. I've even wrote to store management informing them of how a customer was treated when trying to purchase a riding lawn mower. This poor guy walked by and nicely asked if he could get some help in the lawn mower department, the skinny lady with RBFS working at the customer service desk rudely replied. She could not get anyone over there unless he was going to purchase the mower. This guys jaw was probably dislocated from how fast his mouth dropped at her response. Sadly this is just one of many bad experiences that I've had at this location and the only reason I continue to go there is because of the products and prices that are offered. This is clearly managements fault for the bad customer service, cause if you go to the Meridian location next to the freeway you get a totally different experience. The people there are ready and willing to go out of their way to help you. I've stopped at this location a few times for work related purchases and the associates have always been so helpful. read more
