We tried to return a $400 air conditioner to the Neptune Home Depot only two weeks after purchase. The unit was still sealed in the box and never opened. Only then were we told that air conditioners have a hidden 7-day return policy--something that was never disclosed upfront, only buried on the receipt. The store manager flat-out refused to speak with us, offer store credit, or provide any kind of solution. Instead, we were dismissed and left stuck with an expensive appliance we can't use. The only decent part of the experience was the receptionist, who was polite but completely powerless to help. This location clearly doesn't care about customers once they have your money. Everywhere I turned on a Saturday morning I saw an orange Home Depot employee apron! All friendly and helpful. Shelves packed and well stocked. And clean and ORGANIZED shelves!! I had to get 4 shelves cut and then later I needed something else cut. Normally that would be a 45 minute process. In both cases wood was cut right away and with 2 different employees. Placed an online order today and after waiting outside for 30 minutes walked inside to a super nasty old man at the customer service desk. I had already paid for my items totaling several hundred dollars, so I asked if I could take the items and the nasty old man snarkily said "sure" knowing full well that there was a lock on the carriage. I proceeded to drag the carriage with the alarm going off into the parking lot because home Depot employees are absolutely useless, especially the nasty lazy old man who refuse to do his job despite the fact that I had prepaid for my order which I sat in the parking lot waiting for for 30 minutes while he completely ignored me. If you're that old and you're that nasty that you can't do your job, which clearly you can't, you should probably find a job not working with customers. Add this to the smash and grab several months ago and you have yourself an all-around ghetto fantastic home Depot right in the center of Neptune. The Lowe's is far better and honestly if I were you I would travel to the home Depot in Brick, because the customer service is better and they don't have a nasty snarky old bats unable to complete a simple task. I'm glad the alarms went off. I hope they kept going off. I was never asked for a receipt to prove that the items were mine and when I asked if I needed to prove that these were in fact my pre-order, prepaid items, I was told "no, just take them." Cheers to you grouchy nasty old crotchety man at customer service. You've successfully made a terrible store that much more terrible by your complete lack of customer service and courtesy. My husband and I purchased an entire whirlpool appliance package from Home Depot Neptune. The delivery was on time , but when they went to install dishwasher they said they weren't allowed to install because the pipe was copper ,so Thdishwasher was not installed by them. As for the refrigerator it worked wonderful the next week, but the freezer portion stopped running, the ice maker stopped, all My food started to melt. We called whirlpool they sent a technician out he said he had to order a part another 3-5 days. Called whirlpool back very unconcerned. Went back to Home Depot, they said since we did not report in 48 hours we cannot return. Meanwhile we cannot use the freezer part. As for the dishwasher we had to pay someone else to do what we already paid for. If you need major appliances DO NOT BUY FROM HOME DEPOT NEPTUNE unless you have $$ to waste! This is not even worth 1 star. This will also be reported to the better business bureau, because it's not right!!! read more

I live pretty close to the depot in Neptune. It's hit or miss. Sometimes you have all the help you need, other times your feel like your the only one in the place and everyone is on break. I still go there I just look on the app for what aisle the product I need is in before I go. I would much rather go to the one in Brick but again Neptune is closer. Everyone I do find in there is nice when you find them and ask them a question. I've also run into the "expert" in whatever dept and turns out I knew more than they did. After paying all the xtra fees the delivery people where nasty and would not install the washer claiming that was not their job after HD said it would be installed. This Home Depot is just OK, nothing to great. The only reason I go to this one is because it is close to home. The staff are hard to find at times and most are not very knowledgeable. I had a problem with my outside lamp post and needed to replace and rewire it. I needed help with how to splice in a new wire at the ground. It took about 30 minutes to find an employee. The employee handed me the wrong stuff, the junction box and wire clearly stated indoor use only, I pointed this out and he just looked puzzled. Zero stars if I could. customer service. I received the worst treatment by any associates in any kind of retail situation in the Garden Department tonight at 8 PM on a Saturday night. I was trying to buy some mulch which is located in the parking lot which they told me was closed at 8 o'clock. then I proceeded inside to load up my own mulch and proceeded to the checkout when I tried to check out they told me that The cash register is now closed only credit then there is four people behind me proceed to go in front of me. not that anyone that works there would've corrected and felt with the situation correct would said to me sir you can go right here and I'll check you out. they both stood there and watched people check out. Then I have an associate trying to come in the store in between me and another customer at the checkout counter trying to push two large carts that they carry wood on and almost running my feet over putting me in an uncomfortable situation along with my wife and if you want to treat people like that next time I will just run you over with my cart and I will say I work here because that's how I felt. if that is the way you want to do business in this day and age then you should go ahead and keep doing it like this. I will never ever ever ever go back to the Neptune Home Depot. I live down the street from the Neptune Home Depot and as far as I'm concerned I feel like I was discriminated against because of my race /ethnicity. We bought a dishwasher and set up installation for a day we had off 2 weeks later.The night before, we get a call from the installation company telling us our window is 445pm to 845pm and that installation could take up to 2 hours. We had plans for 8pm that evening so we had to reschedule. We never thought we had to keep our day free from 745am to 845pm for a dishwasher. We re-scheduled for a Saturday 2 weeks later( the first Saturday available). We got the call at 7pm the night before with an installation window of 745-1145am. The entire family got up early in case we were the first stop. Our phone rang at 730am to tell us that our dishwasher could not be installed as scheduled as it was damaged. Are you kidding me- it has been in the possession of the installation company for at least 16 days and they wait until this morning to check it!!! Utterly ridiculous!! When I called to cancel my order, not one person asked if there was anything they could do to make it better, keep me from canceling , not even an apology. This indicates to me that this experience is commonplace so they don't even bother trying to appease customers anymore. The 'lovely' associate on the phone was a delight- telling me she couldn't confirm my refund until she got a scanback number from GE- I hope she calls Whirlpool/Maytag instead as that is the manufacturer of the dishwasher we purchased ( now I wonder if they even ordered the right one) I will NEVER purchase an appliance from Home Depot again. We are headed out the door to a competitor- willing to pay more $$ in hopes of getting better customer service. Update: A customer service rep called to apologize for our bad experience. She explained that the manager was off the weekend, but we should expect a phone call from her Monday. Well, its Saturday and still no call. Customer satisfaction definitely not a priority. We paid more to get our dishwasher elsewhere and we are enjoying having a functioning dishwasher again. At this point, we will drive the extra 10 miles to Lowes in Eatontown for all of our home needs after being loyal HD customers for 15 years. read more

I quickly explain that I need a few certain plants...I go down the list , and each item she says no ..no ..no..no no.. We don't have any of those..I said really? They are pretty common and she gives me a sigh and dirty look...so I said well ur not very helpful, maybe if u got off the phone u could direct me to where at least 1 of the plants u did say you have is?...another dirty look...I said how about you get off the phone and help me, she in turn says I'm on the phone with my boss...I said well tell your boss that your both not helpful....is there no longer customer relations where your job is to help...hmmm read more

I also paid for installation and removal of the old one. After waiting for the dishwasher to show up. Two ungroomed men came into my house to see where dishwasher was being installed. They spoke perfect English to me when they came in. Suddenly they started speaking only Spanish to each other and laughing. This made me very uncomfortable. Well, they said they were not able to install dishwasher. I said okay fine I will get a plumber, they continued chatting in Spanish with each other and laughing.... I waited for them to leave and called the delivery company. The first person in "customer service " said I don't know what you want me to do. I said please get me a supervisor. The supervisor did not understand what my problem was. She repeatedly told me that most of the delivery drivers speak Spanish. I said that's great, however I do not and I do not appreciate them joking in my house in a foreign language. She went on to defend them that they were probably just joking with each other and they do 20 deliveries a day. Excuse me but what does that have to do with being unprofessional??? Ordered a 4' x 8' sheet of twin wall polycarbonate from HomeDepot.com. After what I thought was a lengthy delay the shipment arrived at my home Dec. 7, 2016 severely damaged. The box with no interior support was bent and the sheet inside severely cracked and unusable. The next day I contacted Home Depot's Customer Care and reported the issue. Bought an Echo Back Pack Blower and less then a year later it has carburetor issues. Tried to return the blower and was told that Home Depot does not allow returns on gas powered equipment past 30 days without a receipt. I was directed to the tool rental area to have the blower looked at and the guy who worked the tool rental area was an ASSHOLE! Every time I tried to say something he would cut me off and start telling me how "no one knows how to take care of this kind of equipment" and "its gonna need a repair that takes 3 to 4 weeks" and " we will never take back gas powered equipment" and " I see 10 to 15 of these a week. I was starting to get heated and tried to tell this jerk off that maybe Home Depot should stop selling products that have such a high failure rate but he cut me off again. I admit that I'm angrier at how i was treated than not being able to return the blower but either way this particular Echo product sucks and this particular fellow in tool rental equally sucks. Oh and by the way the blower I bought was an Echo PB 500T so please don't buy one. So, because this particular customer service rep in the tool rental area was such a, well you know...tool, I went to a local repair shop and had them do the work. So, here is a plug for Neptune Mower Repair. UPDATE: Turns out all I needed was a carb adjustment and thanks to Neptune Mower Repair it only cost me $25 bucks instead of spending $150 bucks for a new carb and 4-6 week wait.
