Quality/Quantity - Consistent. Asked two team members for help and finally found what I needed. If I actually walked to the VERY end of the aisle, I would not have needed the second team member. My bad. Atmosphere - Where do I start. If you need a day laborer this is a good place to start. Especially since they moved or closed the "day laborer" zone in Oakland on High Street. Plenty of parking, you can even tip a day laborer to watch your car. Unfortunately, the homeless population continues to thrive here. Not an easy in and out of this area. There are always one or two police cars parked outside. Not sure if there are any real policemen? And/or if they are parked there just as a deterrence. Open 7 days a week from 6am or 7am until 8pm or 10pm. Service - When I first came here many, many years ago, I was surprised by the amazing service this location offered. Employees actually greeted and helped customers. Now service is no different than all the other HD's. So basically, they are self-service. Price - Great value, good return policies. I rarely look at prices shopping at this company. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1978, now with 2,312 locations and growing. Ranked #5 (2020) on the Fortune 500.

Wow. This place feels like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie. From the moment you pull up, it's clear things are completely out of control. First, you have to get past the homeless encampments that have taken over nearly every corner surrounding the store. Once you're in the parking lot, you're met with a sea of day laborers offering their services, alongside "contractors" in work trucks all eager to be hired. But that's just the beginning. Home Depot seems to have turned its back parking lot into an overflow storage zone, which apparently also serves as an opportunity for thieves. While I was at the nearby 24 Hour Fitness, I literally witnessed people stealing bags of concrete and bricks through the back fence, all while a police officer casually hung out in front of the store doing nothing. When I finally got inside, the chaos continued. The checkout line was absolutely insane -- stretching from the exit all the way to the back wall. We're talking about 20-25 people deep, and it took forever to move. Honestly, the only reason I can imagine coming back to this store is if I wanted to blend in with the crowds stealing stuff, because that seems to be the norm here. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. This location is a mess. Good luck if you choose to brave it.

I know Home Depot has a reputation of being AWEFUL to visit. Let's talk about the reasons WHY for this particular location. I don't go to Home Depot unprepared. I look up the items I want to buy online, add them to my cart. That way, when I am there I know what aisle to find everything in. Once I get there, I find that there are NO REGISTERS OPEN, only self check. Usually I would turn around and leave if I find it too busy. But, I came prepared and everything online says it's in stock so I should have a smooth shopping experience... RIGHT?! I find my first item. Head over to my 2nd. I am in the right aisle and section, but the item I am looking for isn't there. I check behind things, look for alternatives. NOTHING. Go to find my 3rd item, it's no where to be found. Site said there was 43 in stock, and this item is large 48x90 white board panel. I try to flag down someone in orange, they are no help. I came for 8ish items and left with 1. ALSO: You would think that ordering online should be a quick in and out option. It is not. Why? Because no one is ever at the pick-up area. Very annoyed.

RACIST LADIES DOING CUSTOMS SERVICE. I came to this location not expecting perfect service due to it being in Oakland but when I arrived and I paid for a pallet of concrete asked them to kindly load it with a forklift. Unfortunately never got it waited over an hour so I decided to go return the concrete. While waiting in line I witnessed this lady and her friend with the braids who I wasn't able to take a photo of but they both laughed at the man for not being able to properly explain what he needed so I helped them him after the fact that I noticed them laughing in his face and mocking him for not being able to speak English properly

    Thank you!

Homewise (formerly Airport Appliance) comes through again with exceptional local service!…read more We have bought many appliances from Airport Appliance in the past--which is now Homewise. I was initially a bit worried that the business had been absorbed into a national chain, but it turned out to be just a name change with the same great local ownership. Most recently, our wall oven went dead on the 4th of July. We called Homewise and spoke with Lyla Vo, who was fantastic at advising us on replacement options. While working with her, we also decided to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher to take advantage of a two-item extra rebate! Over the years, we've tried other options in the area, but Homewise strikes the perfect balance: Vs. High-End Local Outfits: Higher-end stores seem bothered if you aren't remodeling an entire kitchen. Even though we'd bought from them before, they lacked interest when we only needed a single replacement item. Vs. Big National DIY Chains: Big-box stores are a headache. Twice, their installers walked out refusing to complete the job due to minor water, power, or circuit compliance issues. While those may have been on our end due to older coding, there was zero flexibility or real-time planning--they are bound strictly by corporate liability rules and won't work with you on the spot. Plus, you're basically dealing with a website, not a human. Why Homewise Wins: Even though we handled everything over the phone with Lyla, the entire experience was seamless. When we had follow-up questions, Lyla even responded from her phone after her shift was over! That kind of personal, above-and-beyond care is rare. On top of that, the installation process was super smooth, and they strictly honored their 4-hour delivery window. Homewise delivers the exact feel of working with a reliable, friendly neighborhood salesperson. Next time an appliance needs replacing, we're heading straight back to them. Please keep supporting local businesses like this one!

I was in the market for a new washer and dryer after my washing machine broke, so I looked around…read moreand compared prices at several different retailers. From the beginning, HomeWise Appliance had the lowest starting price. It was also during their Fourth of July sale, and I received an additional instant discount of $75 per appliance for purchasing both the washer and dryer, saving me another $150 total. There were also two additional manufacturer rebates available that I still need to submit. I have seen some reviews mentioning issues with receiving rebate money, so I cannot comment on that part of the process yet. However, even before factoring in those rebates, the washer and dryer were still the least expensive I found anywhere. With HomeWise's additional Fourth of July discount, the total price became even lower than every other retailer I compared. Even if I ultimately receive only one of the two rebates, this will still have been, by far, the best overall price. The service was also great. Delivery was available the next day, and I had no issues throughout the entire process. I was charged an additional $50 because my home has more than 32 stairs, which I thought was completely reasonable. The prices they offered for the required installation components were also reasonable. However, I already had some of my own new washer and dryer lines, and the installers were happy to use and install them without any problem. Antonio, who helped me at the Redwood City location, was extremely knowledgeable about the washer and dryer--more so than anyone I spoke with at the other stores I visited. I really appreciated his candor and his willingness to discuss the differences among the various options. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase anything, which was both important and refreshing. It genuinely felt like he was there simply to help me make the best decision. Overall, this was a great experience. Based on the pricing, knowledgeable service, next-day delivery, and lack of sales pressure, I would not buy my appliances anywhere else. HomeWise had the lowest starting price, the lowest final price after its own discounts, and the potential for even greater savings once the rebates are processed.

Howard, who I believe is the owner was great!! Not only did he fix my washing machine. He was very honest in doing so although it wasn't anything major, just something had clogged the drain pipe. He could have told me anything and charged me an outlandish price based on the fact that I had no knowledge of the repair or the repair cost. he was so honest and gave me a great price. He was fast and didn't leave a mess or water all over my floor. I was so impressed that I also asked him to take a look at my dryer which also just needed something very minor that he offered to fix for pennies. I made an appointment with him on my next off day.
