Purchased a gas dryer and installation including $20 charge for install kit When delivery arrived the gas line from dryer to ceiling pipe was too short to reach so installer suggested my husband go purchase another gas line from home depot that was 12ft or he himself extend the pipe from the ceiling to meet the new gas line. My husband left to go to home depot and the installers left. (The home depot told him they do not have gas lines longer than 5 ft) I am now without a working dryer that costs $900!!!!!!!! My husband went back to home depot and spoke with the manager and she was going to have an installer call us. Two days later some girl called to tell us she would refund us $20 for our install kit purchase We have not heard from their installer( has been 3 days) We will have to hire someone to extend the pipe so we can install this dryer Don't buy any appliances from these guys read more

I had four items to return today that were past the return date, but had not been opened. The young woman who helped me, Sailaja, listened patiently to me and was so kind and helpful and figured out a way to get me a store credit. I don't know if the B squad of employees were scheduled to work tonight; and I honestly do not know who had the worst attitude: the customers or the employees. This was the worst trip to Home Depot I have had. We are in the middle of a home reno in south JoCo and decided to purchase paint at this location since it's closer to our current home. An employee had the aisle near the paint swatches blocked for inventory work. We decided to go look at primers to stay out of her way. We returned fifteen minuets later and the aisle was open again, so we began browsing. I turn around to find her huffing behind me and I asked if we were in her way. She ignored me. I shuffled out of her way and continued to look. She then said, "I just need to get over here." She went back to inventory then abruptly turned to us and curtly tried upselling us on Behr paint. It was off-putting and I had to walk away from her to disarm her stank attitude. The paint counter was no better. We stood at the counter waiting for someone to help us mix paint. We ended up going to the other side of the counter to get their attention and they were beyond pressed that we were asking for assistance. We will not be back. We visited this location before on a weekend and the customer service was a lot better. It was almost worth it to drive the 20 minutes to the other Home Depot (But the gas prices!!) We will stick with the South Olathe location near our new home from now on! read more

Talk about attitudes. Associates, managers, all of them act like it's such a burden to help us out. Whatever new management is in place, don't even think about asking to get your lumber cut because they'll make a big stink about it. And oh, they'll treat you like a thief and walk you to the register with the cut invoice. By itself, it is not a problem, but from the attitudes prior and the hoops we had to jump through to get our items cut, I don't see this practice as the norm. Why do I believe this? Because the person before us that had items cut DID NOT get walked up to the cashier with a cut invoice. Not saying I won't be back because we don't have many options, but I'll definitely check Lowes and Menards first. read more

Bought a bird feeder off the internet to pick up in store. Had a crack that the person filling the order purposefully covered up with the pickup label. I like the great selection, the reasonable prices, the garden center, the convenient ship-to-store option, the HD app which helps locate that hard to find item within the store, the friendly check out crew, and the self checkout lanes. The service in the aisles can be hit or miss, but I usually know what I need, and where to find it. Overall, very nice!!! read more

We recently ordered window blinds from this store. When we went into the store and tracked someone down we were treated courteously. If we called it was difficult to connect with someone who could help us. Our blinds were installed this week. The installer arrived late but called a couple times to keep us informe. She did an excellent job! The blinds look great and the cost was much less than any other quote we receive. read more

This morning they had just one cashier except for Pro Desk, which I avoid so the business people can get back to work. The cashier let me wait in line about 5 minutes while she checked out a customer. When it was my turn she said she was closing and I needed to go to self-check. The items I had don't work in self-check. She just shrugged shoulders and stood there. She could have told me a long time ago she was going to close after the person she was helping! This has been my location for 17 years. The guy I see gathering shopping carts majority of the time (I think Jeremy) could use a smile. I've never seen him smile but I guess I wouldn't either when it's too hot or cold out. The people I enjoy are Bob in the front and by the Pro's desk. Marcus, Ed, & Doug in paints are always nice. Celestine, used to be in tools, but is now in plumbing and general areas is very fun. Everyone is great and helpful but I don't remember all of their names. The store is clean as well as restrooms. If you use the app to search, it will also tell you what isle and bay something is in. The most convenient service is that they can verify a return/exchange with the card you used. This is one of the closest home improvement stores to my house, so when I need something, I normally hit up this store. Customer service is a mixed bag here. Sometimes I've been asked if I've needed help right away, but most of the time I'm walking halfway across the store trying to find anyone available to assist. On my most recent visit, I was looking for a specialty light bulb. I confirmed on their website before visiting that it was available in store and in stock. I could not find it anywhere in the light bulb aisle. There was a group of 3-4 employees standing nearby chatting, and I asked one of them for help. She said she would get someone to help me, and walked off. I stood there for almost five minutes and no one came to help. I ended up ordering the bulb from a popular online retailer that offers free two day shipping. read more

Ryan is awesome - Excellent knowledge and customer service. We shopped for a lawn mower today. Ryan helped us narrow our choices. Of the three we had selected, he gave us pros and cons for each. He opened boxes so that we could see what he was talking about. When we had it down to one, he set the mower up and answered all our questions. We decided to buy it and Ryan told us about a $100 discount. When we were through with our purchase, Ryan loaded the mower in our truck. Went here with the desperate hopes of finding an adapter. One which would go on my half bath sink to attach a garden hose to so I didn't have to carry a 5-gallon bucket back and forth a zillion times, filling my daughter's splash pool. We wandered up and down the plumbing aisle for a few minutes and someone finally asked if we needed help. "Yes!" I pleaded "Well, my husband does..." This guy set us up without my hubs and I having half a brain between us about plumbing. We grabbed a hose and we were out of there within 15 minutes. This store is well laid out, though very large. We go here frequently and the selection is great, the prices are not so great. But, you pay a premium when you need stuff right then and there many times. We always have friendly customer service here and will be back. Although not for a sink adapter or hose :) My little girl is happily swimming like a fish. I ordered two bundles of firewood for curbside pickup. They loaded directly into my trunk, so I didn't get to inspect the wood until I got home. I knew something was wrong on the drive home because of the horrible odor. The bundles absolutely reeked. Upon inspection, I saw extensive, furry mold covering most of the wood. I've attached a photo of a single log as an example, but it really doesn't do justice to how much mold there was. Almost every piece of wood in the two bundles had similar mold. When I called the store, their first snarky question was "why is the mold a problem?" After explaining that it's unsafe to burn moldy firewood, they said could do a return but insisted that I had to come inside the store to do it. This makes zero sense as the entire reason for doing curbside was to avoid going in the store. My wife is pregnant and this store has not enforced the mask policy at all during 2020 (that's an entirely different post). Despite all of this, the person I spoke with on the phone couldn't have cared less and even gave me attitude about it. I had to go through Home Depot's corporate customer service line to get refunded. I'm more upset about the service than the firewood being moldy. Things happen but poor service like this is indicative of a poor management, poor training and lack of decency and common sense. read more

BEWARE of Home Depot's water heater installation services!!! They clearly leave out items that 99.99% of customers need so that they appear to have a better price knowing that once the installers are there most people will just go ahead with the service rather than canceling. Turns out that there were $455.50 in "unanticipated" charges, which made them about $100 more than my quote from Neal Harris Service Experts that included those "extras" in their standard installation... Worst Home Depot ! I've had a bad experience here before but it's close so I stopped in for a roll of tape and a few storage bins. No carts when I came in - I've never seen HD out of carts so I asked if they had moved them and customer service person Andrea said they were probably all out in the parking lot and if I wanted one I could get one out there. Nice customer service! I will just walk back out in the 100 degree heat to do their job. I found my items juggling them around in my arms and as I got to check out they just turned off the lights for the only 2 checkers. I asked are you opening a new check out lane and was told no they are closed I need to use self check out. That's it folks, last straw. I'm not on your payroll. I'm not getting my own cart and checking out and bagging my own items. Kiss my A** Home Depot! I will drive 5 miles farther to Lowe's and start this process all over again where I know I will get customer service or better yet I will go home and order it from Amazon and it will be on my door step in 2 days max. So to Home Depot and the numerous other brick and mortar stores whose standards are slipping or non existent. I say, I'm a customer not an employee. You're supposed to be a retail store, carts, personnel the whole shopping experience. It seems that your company has forgotten this. I went in looking for Foil tape for Dryer duct work, and asked and older man in appliances for some help finding it. He rudely tried telling me it was duct tape that I was looking for, which is definitely not what I was trying to find, And I said no, I know what I need, do you know where foil tape is for dryer duct work? He said he didn't know what that was and said sorry, without trying to find someone else to help. Afterwards, asked two other associates the same question and the same result happened. Nobody tried finding someone who knew where the item was, and I eventually found it on my own. Really frustrating that the employees have no knowledge of where products are or how to find somebody who did know. Definitely not coming back to a place where the employees seem clueless on customer service and knowledge of their own products. Paid a plumber to pickup a sump pump kit I paid for online. After taking apart my old pump we discover a broken, dirty pipe in the box that obviously came from someone else's pump. A return where HD did not inspect the contents. Now I am out the time I paid the plumber to pick it up and try to install it and must pay him again to return it and pick up another. I ordered 4 appliances online (washer, dryer, stove, and dishwasher). The ordering process and delivery process went just fine. The installers came and they were professional, wore face coverings the whole time, and they did a good job overall. The washer and dryer doors opened the wrong way and I asked if they could switch them around. They said they could not do that and that I needed to enter a service ticket and the service guy would come out and switch them around. Sounds easy enough...not so much!! Because my appliances were GE, I had to call GE directly. When I called, I got NOWHERE. It directed me to their website, so that's where I went. I entered a service ticket for both my washer and dryer. I received a call about a week later and got my appointment set up. When the service technician arrived, I told him what I needed to have done. He immediately told me he was ONLY there to fix my WASHER because he did not have a ticket for the dryer! He said if I could get GE to send the service ticket to his company, he would do it while he was there. He said if they could not send the ticket that he would have to charge me $150 for him to do the 10 minute service!!! I immediately called GE - I FINALLY got to a live person! I explained my situation. She entered a new service ticket for my dryer and said it was going to XYZ company - which was NOT the same company of the technician who was there in my home at that moment! I REPEATEDLY asked her to send to it to the company that was there and she said she could not. I then asked to speak to a manager and she sent me to the automated confirmation line that then hung up on me!!!! I am a single mom and took off work for a FULL DAY to have a 10 minute repair (because they would only give me a 4 hour window, so could not work during that time)! And now, the work I needed to have done IS NOT EVEN DONE!! I spent the rest of my afternoon calling back to GE service to try to speak to a supervisor or manager - I spent OVER 60 MINUTES ON HOLD and never got to speak to a supervisor or manager!! Fast forward about 4 weeks!!! I FINALLY get a call from the other service company to come and switch my DRYER door around. They were supposed to come TODAY (ANOTHER FULL DAY OFF WORK BY THE WAY!!!). They DID NOT SHOW!! I called them and they said they did not have me on the schedule for today and do not have anyone available to come to do my 10 minute service today!!! I now have to take a THIRD DAY off of work for something THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ON THE INSTALLATION!!!! I ABSOLUTELY, POSTIVIELY DO NOT RECOMMEND GE SERVICE!! DO NOT BUY GE APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT - you will be extremely disappointed in the level of service you receive! read more

By far the worst HD I have ever visited. The service is absolutely terrible. We do business with HD in a daily basis. We are in construction. The Olathe branch is completely different to this. I had to walk out today before I lost my temper. Everybody here seems to be busy talking to each other and if not doing that, they are too busy trying to avoid eye contact. Man, I have had the BEST service from two "kids" at the paint department at this store. Everything from metallic paints to Venetian Plaster to their selection of OOPS paints, Jacob and Heather know their stuff. I can't tell you the number of times they saved me from potentially messy and expensive projects with their expertise. They are young, but very knowledgeable about their products. In the last 2 weeks I went to this Home Depot rather than the one I used to live by. Once to get pots for plants, and since I knew nothing about how to keep anything alive I asked a wonderful woman 100 questions and she was patient and friendly to help in every way. Similarly I was asked to do a paint job on a friends wall, so I returned to this location and explained to the man at the paint counter that I've never painted a picture on a wall and I needed advice about the paint viscosity and handling etc. Once again he was so patient and kind to answer 100 questions of mine.
