The people at this home depot know me by name after the amount of business I have done with this home depot. I used to be a Lowes man, but after moving to a new house and having the closets Lowes more than 3 times the distance, I choose to do business here. Every time I walk through the door I am greeted (and in many cases I am greeted by name). Unlike some of the other stores in Austin and surrounding areas, I never have trouble finding an associate to help me out. I am often asked multiple times during a visit if I need help with anything. It is very clear that the management has placed a serious focus on customer service and store appearance. The only issue I have ever had was with one online order that was really late in the day and close to closing. The plumbing associate gave me the wrong items and the wrong quantity I had purchased. Also, one of the items I ordered went out of stock as they were gathering items. The service after this mess up was great. I received a discount on all the items plus a $10 credit for the error the store associate made. Because of this, I ended up making larger purchases here opposed to Sears or Wal-Mart. read more

Usually ok but today I was very insulted and looked down on for being a woman. "Do you insist on doing this yourself?" for an easy project (screen door). Then he ignored me when I said yes and proceeded to call a handyman to ask if they handled this type of project anyway (they didn't). After the employee wasn't able to get the kit to work he gave up on me and left to go help another customer without any explanation. It was like I was the first female customer they'd ever had. read more

It is unbelievable, yesterday I went to this Home Depot at Pf. Town Center, rented a 75ft power snake for the plumbing, it is expensive, $60/ 4hours, and I also paid $9 damage protection, this machine is very difficult to operate, it will not retract at all either by power / manual, we have to wrap around the machine to return it, the problem is the people work at Homedepot said we damaged the machine, it has a couple of kinks because we had to wrap around the machine, it is not our fault, the machine is not designed well, nobody can retract the snake like that, and the worst thing is they charged my credit card $262.88 for the repair, come on, this machine sold here brand new only around $500, besides I paid for damage protection, This is FRAUD, DECEPTION. Usually have great help from the staff at this store but the countertop measurement person was glib and did a terrible job of measurement . When I asked for more detail on the invoice, he told me that the measurements were actually 50% more than what he had told me and included a cost for an edge that we hadn't discussed. Never did get a fully detailed invoice. The material was priced with no square feet listed as well as tje cost of tje edgonh - again no measurement. Also listed removal of old countertops with no cost. The total did not match the addition of the sums for the two itemized costs. So - be careful if you are planning to get countertops from them. I chose elsewhere. Ah, well. Still like the personnel at the store. read more

What can you say about Home Depot that hasn't already been said? Not only is the location convenient but they have a friendly and knowledgeable staff that goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. I really like the outside garden department, I do wish the selection was a little deeper but hey you can't have everything. I especially like the 1 yr guarantee on plant purchases, unfortunately my wife and I have had to use the guarantee a couple of times... Lastly, the cashiers are great, they even help me use the self-checkout, lol, I always screw those things up to the point of no return and they bail me out with a smile every time. This in regard to flooring and the subcontractors that they hire for installation of the wood floors. My husband and I are not DIY'ers. We purchased engineered click wood for three rooms and a hallway. The person who came to measure the rooms didn't do it correctly so when materials arrived we were short. The initial installers were not that experienced and had a dull saw. Some of the wood is splintered at the seams, and cut at inconsistent lengths near the walls. Where they had to meet the quarter round there were gaps. They used 11 bags of leveling which wasn't unexpected but was not applied correctly so there were hollow spots particularly in the hallway. The leveling compound was also found on the walls, trim boards, and patio. They did an overkill on nailing in the quarter round which split the wood in several places. We complained to Home Depot flooring department and the specialist supervisor from home depot and the manager of the subcontractors came out to view the complaints. We were then assured that they would fix our complaints and finish the project. Oh, the initial installers were to tack down the carpet in five doorways this was not done and they expected after their second day for us to sign off. The next installers were sent and did their best to remedy some of the problems but unfortunately some of this work was done in the middle of the floor. The attempts to caulk and cover nail holes, the caulk did not match the wood and is lighter. I think the worst part of all of this is that the communication towards us has been practically non existent. We have had to hound the specialty specialist who has lied to us twice now that the installers attempted to contact us but this did not happen. Cell phones keep a very accurate call log. The flaws in the entire project are not that huge in comparison to the square footage, but 98 percent would have been nice. I grew tired of hearing that can be fixed which shouldn't be necessary if done right the first time. Overall, I wish we would have just bought the flooring and did more research to find better installers. A normal two day install has taken close to 2 1/2 weeks and it is still not complete. I really like this Home Depot location, not only is it new and clean, I felt the attitude was a lot warmer than other stores. I walked in to check out paint colors and hardwood/laminate flooring and I literally had 5 people come up to me and asked me if I needed any help and directed me to the right specialists. They answered all my questions and gave me tons of options. I walked out of the store with tons of samples and will definitely be back later to buy stuff. read more

My wife and I decided to do a little backyard makeover during the long weekend, which was going to include some raised flower beds. I saw an ad for raised flower beds in the Home Depot flyer and was on my way to get a couple at about $35 a piece. I stopped a worker by the name of Mike to ask him where I might find these advertised items and he took the time to ask me a few questions about my project and what I was hoping to accomplish. After explaining to him what we were planning, he showed us a way to build our own raised beds ourselves with some fence pickets and metal brackets and it would save us some serious money! In the end, each 8x8 box only cost us less then $12 each and they were not difficult to put together at all. Now we can take that $46 of savings and get some plants to put in our new gardens. I rate at 4.5 stars. Good location. Large parking lot and large store with plenty of options. Bathrooms are kinda sorta clean but outdated and not always stocked on toilet paper or paper towels; 3 out of 5 stars for the potty. The staff are generally quite friendly and helpful. They are not ALL knowledgeable but they can usually find the one person in the store who is the expert in whatever I happen to need that day. The prices are quite reasonable and the return policy is top notch, in my experience. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it sometimes takes a good 10 minutes to get the expert or manager I need to speak with that day and because they sometimes do NOT have what I need, despite their huge inventory. For common products, or simple tips on the best way to do a common project, this is a good place to go. read more

I would like to provide a summary of my experience at Home Depot located at 1517 Town Center Dr, Pflugerville TX, 78660. This is in regards to a recent whole home blinds and installation purchase. After setting up our quote, and taking payment for the measurement consultation, our quote was classified as a custom installation that would take more than a month to custom create the blinds, which was incorrect as we were quoted for blinds sold in the store. When we came in and bought the blinds, the person helping us had quoted the wrong ones entirely, and the correct ones ended up being more expensive. I'm glad I caught the mistake as they would not have found it. After picking up the blinds after they had been cut from the measurements provided by the installers, the installers informed me that only 3 out of the 11 blinds were cut correctly. I returned the blinds to the store and requested that they be cut correctly, and then rescheduled the installers to come back out. After the second installation trip, the installers informed me that one of the remaining 8 blinds had its control cords cut, and was damaged. When I called the store I was told I would receive a call that night when my replacement set of blinds was ready to go. No call. When I arrived at the store the next morning to pick them up, I found that the blinds were as damaged as the last ones. I had to wait there for 30 minutes while they cut another set. Other than the installers, who were extremely helpful, the entire experience was a complete disaster. In summary, what I have is: 3 unnecessary trips to the Home Depot store. 1 additional afternoon away from work for the installers (plus additional tips). Hours of wasted time on the phone and at the store. 1 set of blinds I have to install myself now because I can't afford to be away from work for a third afternoon for the installers to come back out. I understand that people make mistakes, but this was a systematic failure on every level, with every interaction with the store. I will never use or recommend Home Depot services again. read more

This store has good customer service but Home Depot corporation changes their discount policies continually. Veteran discounts on the Texas drivers license are not accepted except for a couple holidays a year. Had a Home Depot credit card once but had to argue every time to get any discount so I cancelled it. When they did offer a veteran discount it was not available for special orders. Too much fine print for me so Lowes has a veteran that gets a 10% discount 365 days a year and on special orders. There are some brand exceptions due to rules from those corporations but that is understandable. So the vast majority of my business will be at Lowes even though Home Depot is closer. read more

This review isn't for the store, it is for Mike B, one of the stores employees who went above and beyond to help me on Wednesday Sept 6th. I had exhausted my patience level waiting help in 2 separate aisles, having an employee tell me he didn't work that area and I was walking out, not of the aisle, of the store. As I reached the end of the aisle a wonderful man with "Mike B" said the magic words I had been waiting to hear, "Do you need help?" The store didn't carry the screws I was looking for but Mike didn't say that. Instead he said, "let me try something". It took a few minutes but he used some tools and cut screws down for the size I needed. I was thrilled! Then he asked if I needed anything else and proceeded to help me in the 2 other aisles that I had waited in and never gotten help. I wanted to pickup some L.E.D garden lights, but out of stock on the shelf. I ask passing employee to help me check availability at one of the other stores in town. He checked his inventory and found 4 on hand. They could not find the product, so he checked the other store in Hutto, they had 5 on hand. I thanked him for looking and headed to the car. I made it out the door and half way to the car, when the associate ran out and informed me he found them. I can not remember a retail associate going that far to save me a trip in a long time. This review is regarding the kitchen design department only. If you are thinking about designing and purchasing custom cabinetry from this store, I highly recommend you consider another option. The design process itself is fine but when it comes to the execution and delivery of the product, I have literally never had a worse experience. The order was late and we had to make MULTIPLE additional orders for pieces that were missing from the original order and side panels that were not accounted for in the design process. Throughout the entire process (over 2 months) I had to continually call in for status updates, I was never contacted when I was told I would be, and when I finally escalated to a manager I was told I would be contacted by a specific person the next person morning, only for me to call in when I didn't hear from anyone to find out that person doesn't even work there anymore. I will never buy anything custom from Home Depot ever again, and am extremely frustrated and disappointed by this experience, especially considering how much money was spent. Save yourself a lot of stress and anxiety and go elsewhere. read more

I went into home depot today excited about a new project I would be working on with my husband. When I found the wood that I needed I headed to the area for it to get cut. We waited there for about 15 minutes until a man was walking up with another customer who needed wood cut. I was relieved that we would get our wood cut for our project. After the employee worker cut his wood, he started walking off, without acknowledging us or asking if would like our wood to be cut? We were confused at first and thought maybe he wasnt finished with the first customer, but he was. He literally just walked off and left the machine, as if we had not been waiting for our wood to be cut. I then looked around for someone to help me but no one was available. I then went to the front to ask if she could get someone to help us with wood. She tried calling a few times but after no answer, she paged on the loud speaker which said "customer needs help in lumber". I then went back to an annoyed husband and told him that someone would be coming to help us out. We then waited for another 10 minutes, and still, no one came. I then waited in the center of the aisle and saw the original employat the front of the aisle. After I waited there for a minute, I realized that he had no intention of helping us still, he just continued readjusting the wood in the aisle. So when my husband saw that it seemed like we were invisible to this man, he got extremely frustrated, so we ended up getting annoyed, and left. I dont want to say home depot was unimpressive as a whole but, as far as our experience with the lumber area, (specifically the process of getting our wood cut) we were super frustrated and not happy with the customer service. There are so many people walking around home depot, constantly asking we we needed help and when we actually needed it, there were 0 people around to help. Good experiences with stuff like this are awesome because then you get someones business for a lifetime and for us, we wont be going back to deal with that again. read more

Best Home Depot in the Austin area. The employees are for the most part knowledgeable and hard working. A few lazy employees and one Hispanic girl at the registers with a bad attitude. But normally no problems. A special thanks to Albert on the pro register he is always friendly and respectful. Also the guy with the big beard in the paint dept. awesome and very knowledgeable. June and Shawn at reruns are great super friendly. And I think she's the head cashier or something she's white with short brown hair just awesome.I'm one of the hd pros and I shop here almost everyday. And I shop at all the he,s around. Stay away from round rock and mopac' returns they treat everyone like you a criminal. Btw I'll get names of the people above next trip over to pville. My one request not that hd h.q. will see this but I spend thousands a moth at hd, it would be nice to have a discount program like 5-10% off for pros. Not just on paint. I buy from all depts. the $20 off coupons are nice but barely a drop in the bucket. And you shouldn't have to qualify for a credit card like lowes to get the break.
