This is the worst Home Depot in the country! Every one I know calls it skid row depot. Two many issues with this location to list them all. So I will just put last one on here. For over a year I have complained on the Survey about how rude one of the people in the paint department. May 11th 2018 this person said would open the spray paint cage for me started talking to some friend who waked up after saying that and ignored me for 10 minutes. I went to ask for the store manager some kid said I guess that's me now. He was a waste of time I left called corporate to let them know why I will never be going back to skid row depot and 2 minutes later that pathetic store manager calls me she knows who the problem is and was in the store. But her solution to the problem is not better customer service its to give me the combination to the lock on the spray paint cage so I can help myself. I have lived not far from it for 44 years this is why every one around here calls it skid row depot . Avoid this location or go to lowes. read more

Sept 2nd at 9am I noticed a number of employees were pulling their masks down to talk. An employee approached me to offer help and pulled down mask to talk me. I quickly said I am walking away because your not wearing your mask. Employee never offered to put it on and just responded okay. read more

Ms. Dee in the garden department is AMAZING! She's knowledgable, pleasant, and extremely helpful. It's rare to find employees in any industry these days who takes this much pride and loves their job the way she does. The only reason I am not giving this Home Depot 5 stars is because later during my same visit, the paint department was not able to help me. I needed two gallons of Marquee Behr in eggshell finish. Though the computer showed they had 20 one gallon cans, they couldn't find them and I had to go to another location. read more

Had a 5 star experience renting the box truck to move some furniture. It came with a hand truck inside. The whole thing was brand new at 2500 miles. The cab was clean and odor free. It had a lot of tech inside which was surprising like we could have synced our cell phone. It had a back up camera, too which we had no idea about until we had to back up. The rate is competitive if not better than Uhaul and this was a newer fleet and available on a Sunday. It was a breeze and I would not hesitate to rent it again. read more

Very disappointing that they train their employees to discriminate against senior citizen shoppers. When I was approached by an employee, I told him I was looking for a small item -- additional night lights that take a bulb and have a light sensor. He told me, "That's old fashioned. We carry only LED." and walked away. Nevertheless, I looked. They indeed had what I wanted. Home Depot should train their employees to give a correct answer, rather than a quick one. If I could find it as a customer, he should have found it as an employee. And without the "old fashioned" insult. Granted, Home Depot has a large selection, but they need to learn from their competitor how to be "helpful". read more

Finally! I'm getting security doors for a little cross-ventilation opportunity in my pad. I live in an HOA-ruled community so the hoops had encouraged my procrastination. I couldn't take the heat anymore and, just in time for the cold-chill, I found the doors I wanted at my neighborhood home depot , lined up the contractor and submitted my design review request. There were only 2 of the door style I wanted on the floor when I scouted them and I needed them both -- but not for at least a week. I called and spoke to someone in flooring, vaguely described my door -- "the copper one... only 2 out..." --and began to ask about hardware that would coordinate. The guy indicated that there were plenty of options and that he was with another customer but to come on in and we could work it out. 2 hours later, I made it into the store. Walked back to doors and, alas, there were no more of the door I wanted on the floor. Deflated, I found comfort in the fact that I had time to "special order" and began to seek out the door guy to get started. Whatdya know!?! It was Greg, the same guy I had spoken with earlier and, because the doors are popular (someone else had called too), he pulled 2 doors for me! Greg helped me find some good hardware to coordinate and even noticed a discrepancy in the price (evidently the product was in the wrong place on the shelves) while processing the order and made the necessary adjustments to give me the lower price we had thought they would be. He completely took care of me! Some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. The fact that it's pretty easy to find a decent parking spot and the people in the store are generally helpful in directing you to the correct aisle or recommending just the right do-dad to fix your whatchamacallit, etc. make this a 4-star store but my recent door shopping experience has earned that coveted 5th star! read more

The selection and in stock status of this particular location is very good. The store is always clean and they will help you load bigger stuff if you need it. Lea also helped me with finding items either by knowledge of the store items or quickly with her Home Depot app. She also has suggested to order items online that will ship free to the store for pickup or to my home. This is the only place for my home & building needs I shop at in Cave Creek. The other competitor in that area doesn't have the variety and great prices as Home Depot. "I may not get $5000 gift card for this entry, but it is worth it" I come here as often as Sunday morning service at church (meaning weekly). And in some ways I feel this location is nearly as friendly. Last time I came here, Jake helped me out with plumbing. Sometimes the item is not obvious to where it is, but more often than not I have find some one with directions, an opinion, and a smile. Although this occurs more so during the day than the evening hours. Jake not only help me with the plumbing issue, but was able to cut the copper tubing I needed to get done. This location is solid in service and what I also notice that there are a couple workers with disabilities that are just as capable and helpful as those without. Kudos to this location for their diversity in their team. read more

He will get your color no matter how long it takes takes. Home Depot needs to do something nice for him. Came in today to make a return and then a purchase and I can not believe how rude Sandy (the associate at self checkout) was to me and my husband. First and foremost, I enjoy scanning my items. I think it's fun and as silly as it may be, that is why I choose the self check out lanes. We were buying spray paint so we needed her to scan her badge and push some buttons and then go away. Instead when we asked for her help she came over with an attitude right from the start. She stood on the other side of the plexiglass and looked at me light I was 20 different kinds of stupid, so I asked if she was done and with an attitude she let me know that she was not done and she needed to "get in there" (Because they made little plexiglass stalls around the registers). I went ahead and moved out of the way and she walks up, pushes my paints off the top of the pile I had and proceeds to scan everything for me then just walks away. Now we probably should have known that it was cash only but we didn't so when we we were so very clearly confused and asked if the register was card only her reply was. "Uhm yea. It's card only. It's self checkout. Didn't you read the screen? You can't use cash at self checkout." Obviously I had not read the screen nor have I EVER been told that all self checkouts were card only! I'm just surprised because I've never had a problem at Home Depot before this. We left our things at the register and walked out on this one the lady who helped me with my refund was great though and I appreciated her service! They aren't all bad apples! read more

I bought a microwave and range from Home Depot on Cactus & Cave Creek. They have an outside company deliver and install appliances. They installed the microwave, having to drill several holes to do so. As a result there was debris on the floor underneath. They started to push the stove into place, over the debris. I was about to clean it up and asked them not to push it into place until it was cleaned up. I got on my knees, ( I'm 76, so that wasn't easy for me), to clean it up and my son asked them to clean it up instead. At that point one of them got upset and said that they didn't have to clean it up and got angry and said that they were leaving. They did go, leaving the new stove out in the kitchen floor with the packing still in it, and uninstalled. (My son had to go to work ) so the guys left me with a stove out in my kitchen floor. I called their company who kept me on hold for over 50 minutes. I texted them and asked them to call me back, which they never did. At that point I called Home Depot at 12:10. I talked to the store manager, Torin, who immediately got someone on it to call me back. At 12:28 a store manager, John, called me and said he'd get it resolved. At 12:45 John called me back and said he'd send Pablo from the store to finish the job. Pablo & Janelle came to my house - Janelle with a broom & cleaning cloths to clean up the debris while Pablo connected the "Tip Guard" to the wall and the stove, and finished installing the stove. At 2:15 the installation was complete. I wish to thank Torin, John, Pablo & Janelle, at Home Depot, for going out of their way to help, and make me a very satisfied customer! This rating is solely for the Garden Dept, where I wasted 25 minutes of my life today. The first 10 min were spent looking for someone to help me. No associates were to be found. Finally I waiting in line to ask the cashier for assistance. She was a nice lady, but explained she was only the cashier and knew nothing about the garden dept. Then a fellow in an orange vest appeared, and I had the chance to ask for help. "Let me just finish this first and I will be right there." This is my neighborhood Home Depot and as a homeowner I am here a lot. I buy garden supplies, tile, paint, appliances, building supplies. It seems like I am here once a week and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. There is always someone asking if I need help. The kids classes on the weekend are fun for my son but the one time I took a class on how to make a rolling storage cart I showed up and there was no one there to teach the class. 30 minutes later after I already started to walk out they found someone teach it. read more

DO NOT ORDER CUSTOM DOORS FROM HERE. We waiting from July to the end of August for 3 doors. 2 came back wrong. Sent back other 2. Got the 2 finally a few days ago, we are at the middle/end of OCT and one of them is STILL wrong. There is NO place for the door carved out for the latch hole. They have ALWAYS IN THE PAST CARVED OUT A LATCH HOLE. This time, the manager Lindsey told us they do not do this portion of it. Why are all the other doors carved out then and why in the past were they and how do they expect people to do this themselves? They offered me a refund of $50 which Is not enough to have anyone come out and do this job. So we have to remove the door, rent a truck (for the what third or fourth time) and take the door back for a refund and we will still have no door. They could give ZERO fu$$Ks about the reputation of the store or us, their undervalued customer. read more

I had such amazing service from two individuals in the flooring dept. at this Home Depot that I just had to Yelp about it. Before I sing their praises in particular, let me just say that in my experience Home Depot has raised the bar on customer service overall as a company over the last few years. Remember the days of walking in to what felt like a football field of tools, paint, etc., and feeling like there wasn't a customer service rep in sight? Thank goodness those days at Home Depot are over! I have experienced this at several locations in the Valley area; everytime I turn a corner or am looking for something, someone is right there ready to assist. Back to the service I received at this particular location...if you are looking for information about wood flooring, carpet, etc., and you live anywhere near this area it is worth the drive. Find Chris or Lisa; they are both incredibly knowledgable, helpful, enjoyable to work with and will do whatever they can to help you make the right decision without being "pushy" at all. I went in simply looking for ideas about what type of flooring I might want in a new home; I left feeling committed to buying whatever I buy when the time is right from Chris and Lisa. Sometimes we forget big huge companies are made up of individual people just like the rest of us who want to do a good job, be recognized for working hard and to enjoy where we work and who we work for. It was a nice eye-opener to see how a huge American retailer has instilled such loyatly and pride in its team members. read more

We've purchased many items for our remodel thru Home Depot and I am done! They are consistently out of stock with many of the things we have ordered, which is causing a huge delay of our remodel. For an example, ordered a bathroom vanity with countertop. We've had the vanity for months, delivered on time - but NO countertop. This is ridiculous. Do Not use Home Depot for significant purchases. Home Depot is not making points by still allowing dogs in the store. I went there today in a great mood thinking of buying deck stairs and some plants. I no sooner go into the garden area when a woman with not ONE BUT TWO dogs comes tripping in. One dog was on the floor on a leash the other unleashed in the shopping cart. This is not the first time I have seen dogs in this store and to be honest I live in the hood close by and pass on shopping there because it seems more times than not when I go there I see DOGS. I HAVE SEEN UNLEASHED DOGS AS WELL. DOGS AND CATS ARE YOUR pets not mine. I have been bitten by them and have actually seem a friend mauled. Why anyone who has a pet thinks it is okay to subject others to their pets is beyond me and aside from totally turning me off of shopping, I really would like corporate offices to think about all the unprovoked mauling and ask who do you think a person that is bitten is going to sue the owner or the store. My guess both and in all probability they will get a lot more from the store than the pet owner. I did have the opportunity of making a formal complaint (NOT THE FIRST TIME I MIGHT ADD) to the store manager AAron House. He was very nice about the incident however he was unsure of what corporate rules were on the matter. He also went to the garden area to investigate and reported back to me that there was no dogs in the garden area. I really find the people at this store very friendly more so at other home depots and find it annoying that I drive across town to Lowes when this happens rather than have to repeat the encounter. PETS BELONG AT PETS MART OR PLACES THAT HAVE MEGA INSURANCE COVERAGE THAT CONDONE ACCIDENTS THAT ARE READY TO HAPPEN. If you have a pet PLEASE keep them at home or stay home with them. i WILL NOT SHOP IN STORES THAT ALLOW DOGS ON THE PREMISES. I do want to thank Mr House for being considerate and although he assured me the dogs were no longer there the incident totally turned me off. read more

Much to my amazement, I was met by an employee shortly upon entering the door who I cannot help but describe as the MOST HELPFUL store employee I have encountered in 2018. He asked what I was looking for and knew the correct name for it and told me the exact aisle I needed to go to. Then I asked him if he knew about item #2; again he knew the name and the aisle. The same thing happened for the next 3 items, so all I had to do was go to the aisles he told me and the items were exactly in the bays he said they would be in. I don't know what has happened to this store. They have insufficient staffing. On Monday I returned an item and had to wait for the pro desk to help me with the return. They had no one staffing the returns desk. I went in Tuesday to obtain a faucet and no one was in plumbing to assist me with finding what I needed from the shelf. Another person assisted me with finding the model number I saw on view that I wanted. When I phoned to inquire about warranty service, I had to wait on hold for several minutes and was bounced around as well. I would not shop at this Home Depot.
