Bought carpet 5/26. Delivered to installers 5/29. Installers did not contact me for over a month. It took five phone calls and visits to the store to receive an install date of over six weeks after the carpet was bought. Store manager was to call and see how installation went and offer an installation failure credit. He did not call. When I reached out, he offered a $250 credit. The whole ordeal was a total hassle. I had requested 20% of the total project ($750). There is no accountability of leadership at this store. read more

Unfortunately this location was pretty much just flat out neglected. The garden center was just about completely bare! Very little to choose from. It also was just messed up,,, tables out of line, grids missing, and dirty. The poinsettias were ok... they needed to be cleaned up a bit but they had a wide selection. After talking with one of the service reps I met he told me this location was going to get some attention and product real soon. They did have a Christmas tree tent in the lot which made shopping trees very easy. There was still a good selection here of those and help to assist you with your purchase. Hopefully so. read more

The manager has a problem with taking accountability. Honestly, the employees were great and helpful. The manager, Courtney said she would get a third party truck and have our refrigerator delivered at no cost to us. We needed some time to think because it was an incredibly expensive purchase. However, when we went to make the purchase for the refrigerator at customer service, Courtney was there surrounded by fellow employees. When we thanked her for free delivery she then told us she didn't know what we were talking about, like we had just made it up. Perhaps it was because she was around other employees? I'm not sure. I do know that the manager completely lied to us. We didn't appreciate that at all. We also wanted to buy a washer and dryer from them but after the manager refused to take accountability for what she had done I was just over the whole situation and don't want anything else from there. read more

I recently did a curb-side pick up for an order submitted online and am just SO impressed with this HD. I have a newborn and needed some items but did not want to take him into the store given the CV and how busy the store was. My online order was placed and within the HOUR ready for pick up! When I arrived there were clear signs showing where I needed to go and a number to call. I waited less than 5 min for an employee to bring me the order. Thank you SO much for having curbside available and thank you so much for how quickly y'all put together my much needed order! I checked online to make sure this store had a product I wanted. It showed over 50 of this item in stock on the web site. I drove over an hour to get there. I couldn't find the item and looked for assistance. The only person I could find was the lady in the paint department. (she was very helpful and nice). She called for someone to help me. I stood in the aisle for about 30 minutes and no once came to assist. She again called for assistance for me and no one showed up. She said that all the associates had gone outside.??? I was researching what I needed for the hour I was waiting and figured it out on my own. Then when I went to the register, I was denied my military discount because I didn't have my phone to download some app. If I could give this store 0 stars, I would. I wasted a quarter tank of gas to get this treatment. Not again. Lowes will get all of my business from now on. I feel disrespected in every way, shape and form from this store. When ordering any appliance, check that it is physically in stock. If it's not, they will give you false delivery dates that mean nothing. Then they will continually send updates a few days before every delivery date pushing the date out a random amount. You may never see the appliance. read more

This review is for the window treatment department. We decided to go with roller shades for the bedrooms of our new home from Home Depot, it took almost 1 YEAR from the time we ordered to the time they actually came in. Not exaggerating, a year. We even chose a different fabric since we were told our original choice was back ordered. We called the company directly and found it was just pure laziness and sloppiness on Home Depot's part. Flash forward 2 years, we built a second home and don't ask me why we decided to go through this same department/location again (yes the price is great but not worth the frustration). The process went smoother this time around however one of our shades is now half fallen down (installer didn't use anchors into drywall) and we have been trying for months to just get an answer whether or not these there is a warranty and we can get it fixed or if we need to go through a separate party. We have called no less than 10 times, gone in person and sat down with workers at this window treatment department, and no one can give us an answer. They always take our phone number down yet no one calls us back. It is truly infuriating we just want answers. We just want the decency of getting a phone call back. We will never work with this location again and I recommend anyone reading this to avoid. read more

At this point 1 star is being too generous. The Truck rental department is completely and utterly unprofessional. The associate did not help us at all, he just stood at the desk and let people wait for over 30minutes. He was rude, arrogant and unprofessional, he was yelling at us saying that he wasn't the one that helped us in the morning so it wasn't his problem and the proceeded to walk away. He said he was going to call the manager and didn't even call him and just let us wait there. Absolutely do not recommend. Just use Uhaul instead. read more

My recent experience with the large appliance department and specifically it's manager was disappointing and regretfully will change my choice as a patron. When you don't know - do not say. While the various models of refrigerators are confusing these days given many that look similar with different options, we the consumers rely on the expertise of sales staff to explain. Needless to see after 3 visits ending each time in having to educate myself how what the department manager was telling me was completely incorrect I unfortunately no longer trust anything at all from this staff. They twice tried to sell me a refrigerator that was not what I wanted or was looking at and I had to be the one to recognize the sale being rung up was not the refrigerator I was being shown. The extremely disappointing part is I tried to overlook this and after my own research returned ready to purchase without the need for advisement only to be told in an extremely condescending tone from the same manager who had incorrectly misled me 2 times prior, that my military discount was no good on refrigerators. His reasoning was basically since they are always "on sale" the sale price is always better than the 10% discount being offered to military. What does that even mean? The refrigerator just came out. It is the highest price refrigerator in the store and he wouldn't give me a military discount. As I told him everything he and his staff had told me to date had been inaccurate. While I suspect that was still the case with this statement I no longer cared to argue any longer. I can't trust your staff and I highly recommend if you need advisement on appliance products or want to be respected for your military service to avoid this store. Note if you don't know your product at least say so.... And if what I was told about military discount on refrigerators happens to be true that they are never honored on such, then home depot should be ashamed. You found a loophole around your own offer to veterans. "Just put it all on sale the entire time and we don't have to honor it" nicely done. read more

They billed me for the entire amount. When I asked about it I was told it was a store by store decision and I had to talk to the store. When I asked the store they told me I had to call a manager. Had a nice visit this morning to this store with only one hiccup. I needed to purchase a dedicated edger for the lawn. They had no more in store. Considering the time of the year, I figured as much. I asked about the display model. They sold it to me for $15 off and did so with a smile, stating I have to take it as is understanding there is no paperwork or money back for the display model. Sounds good to me. Needed a couple of items, never quite sure where to find them. Found staff, smiling staff at that, willing to help at each location. The staffing over all has sure improved in Home Depots. Got checked out, got home, ready to use the edger. No blade. It had no blade. Never thought to look at that. It seems like this location may have a fairly high turn over rate for employees. Sometimes you can talk to someone that has a wealth of knowledge in their area, and sometimes it will be a completely clueless employee. Management does try to be very helpful if you have the time and patience to wait. read more

The plumber contracted with Home Depot Roanoke is BBS out of Irving. 1 had to wait a week after purchase for the next available install date. 2 would NOT give me a window for install only "We will call you 30-45 minutes before we come to you. Of course today I'm waiting all day for the call. Stepped out of my office for 15 minutes. Not only did I get the call I got a follow up call 15 minutes later saying they would not be sending a plumber and I had to reschedule my appointment for one week later. Good HD. its back in the corner of the parking lot, which keeps cross traffic down and I like exiting the parking lot from that end as well bc it gives you a couple options as far as heading west or east on 114. Staff have been very friendly when shopping and when I needed to return things. Garden staff were also very friendly and helpful when I was considering border for my beds and when I needed a new edger. Bot a 40volt Ryobi cordless Lithium-Ion string trimmer/edger here and returned it bc the line wouldnt advance. Upon discussing with the service guy, I chose to just get a new battery for the cheapo Black & Decker that has served me without a hiccup for years. I thought I would get the Ryobi since I have several other tools and could swap batteries out when needed plus the 40volt w LI battery runs longer than a similar gas powered unit but the string advance is a problem on these units so no bueno! I probably go here 3-4 times a month. Easy in, easy out. I can always find someone to help me locate something if needed. read more

Spring is here so that means I need to go to the garden center at Home Depot. I had to run some other errands so the location in Roanoke worked best for me. First I stopped in the pool section to grab a thermometer and some floating led orbs. It certaiy wasnt overstocked but they had all the necessary stuff you might need to keep your pool properly maintained. The lawn and garden section was actually very good. There was a good selection of flowers that I needed and they were all healthy. I had just come from somewhere else where the flowers were in brutal condition so this was a nice suprise. There were lots of staff around to help and answer my questions since im no green thumb. I dont get to this location very often and I am definately a Lowes guy but I have to say this Home Depot was a pleasant suprise. I will be back soon as a new grille is in my future ha. read more

I went today to pickup paint that I had paid for online with my credit card. I buy stuff for my husband also as he hates ordering/shopping so we use the same online account.....mine. I used curbside pickup as I forgot to bring a mask. I texted when I got there and even texted order number after waiting about 10 min for a response. (Thought they might be shaking paint for me.) After another 10 minutes I called to say I was waiting for pickup. They acted like they had no idea I was there but had my order. Lady walks out with paint and then proceeds to tell me that unless my ID matches account, I cannot pick up order. I showed her my ID and said my credit card with my name paid for items. She said she would have to go back and call my husband for permission. Excuse me? This is not the 1950s......husbands do not need to give permission. Hubby was mowing the yard so while she went and tried to call, I decided I would reject order, open up a new account in my name and reorder the same items while I waited curbside. However, she came back out and said husband gave permission for me to purchase items with my own credit card. SMDH! I will be getting items from Lowe's from this point forward and so will my husband since I order for him. read more

We had some issues renting wet saws this weekend is an understatement. What had potential to be a nasty experience with Home Depot was quickly turned around by the associate at the tool rental named Glen. We've had some issues at this particular Home Depot, more than I would care to admit with employees being less than helpful and almost bothered by customers. And honestly after having to return two wet saws that should've never gone out in the first place because they were broken, I had planned on returning the equipment and then signing off forever as a customer. Glen literally changed my entire attitude toward the store and as long as this store hires people with his attitude and mind set, I will happily come back. All they do is give you one that was sitting outside..plus, a piece was missing..so i went back up and got the piece...then noticed..yes..another piece was missing that i didn't notice from before. Well my junk DEWALT chalk box broke after having it a couple months. I called up to this Home Depot and ask if it was still under warranty the guy checked and check and said he didn't see anything. Well after talking to him for a bit he said "bring it in and we will do a exchange and don't worry about the receipt." I told him I paid with a gift card so that's why he said that. So I showed up at customer service and they sent me to hardware. Asked a guy for an exchange he said can't do it and has no clue why customer service sent me. Well he went to a boss and he asked him, and said he won't do it and said "all my employees are trained and know better". So after all that I called another Home Depot and she " you can try to bring it some managers will take it some won't". So I say screw this I'll shop at Lowe's in Decatur.
