The man behind the counter started telling me about his invention that will change the world but he would be killed for it. Why did my granddaughter need to be subjected to this conversation? She doesn't need to know this about her world. What is wrong with people? Yesterday, I hesitated going to the same Sunset Hills location because I just knew he'd be there waiting to talk about murder again. The employees at this location are helpful and friendly. I love Home Depot for my plants, appliances and flooring. I love how knowledgeable the employees on staff are. We receive informative, good, concrete advice. They have great prices along with extended payment plans. This location has a great selection of flooring, in particular the wood flooring we've been looking for at reasonable prices. I love when my indoor plants go on sale. The tall tropical ones. 2ND UPDATE: I reached out to customer service regarding the status of my refund only to find out there was an issue with refund and I would have to go in to the store the physically receive the refund.... but I guess no one was going to bother to reach out to let me know there was an issue and had I not reached out they would have just kept the money. UPDATE: We had scheduled the pickup of our damaged stove and the night before they pickup they provided the 4 hour window. The day of the pickup, the driver called to tell me they would be there within the hour and arrived 30 minutes later than that original hour time frame provided. On top of that, since I sent the damaged stove back, there has been now correspondence or status update on my refund and OVER A WEEK LATER I still don't have my money back, nor a pending credit on my account. I'm somewhat familiar with the retail world and credit card refunds and am fully aware sometimes it can take 24-48 hours for the funds to appear. However, the fact that it is over a week later and I still haven't received the money back leads me to believe Home Depot is withholding funds. I wouldn't be able to leave their store with an item that I didn't pay for. How can they retrieve a damaged item and not issue an immediate refund??? Can I give zero stars? Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service! I purchased a new appliance package in mid April and was very happy with the price. I waited nearly a month to receive the appliances since they don't keep anything in store, then the day we expected the delivery and had made work arrangements to be home for the delivery, found out the morning of anticipated delivery that we would not be receiving the delivery that day and the soonest they could delivery was the following Monday. We went an entire weekend without appliances. I proceeded to follow up the entire weekend to make sure we would in fact receive our appliances on Monday because I wasn't getting a delivery window. Finally received confirmation Sunday evening. The appliances arrived Monday morning and my husband planned to install everything and got to the stove only to find it was damaged! I immediately reached out to customer service to resolve the issue only to find out that stove is no longer in stock and we would have to pick something else (note any other stove that matched the rest of our appliances was quite a bit more expensive than the original stove we purchased, which we also got a package discount on). After spending a lot of time on the phone with the store, they finally agreed to a $100 credit towards a different stove - which didn't come anywhere close to covering the difference. I also want to note when we initially had the issue with delivery, they said we could ask for a discount once the appliances were delivered, but after we reached out about the damaged stove, the discount for the delivery issue was off the table. We finally ended up at Lowe's to purchase a different stove because they had something more comparable to what we originally purchased. When I reached back out to Home Depot to request a refund of the stove and asking for them to provide an additional refund for the more expensive stove we had to purchase, they refused because we weren't purchasing the new stove from them. Again, I would like to note everything they had to offer was significantly more expensive than what we originally purchased and we again would have had to wait a while for the new stove to be delivered. We purchased the stove from Lowe's on Monday and it will be delivered Saturday. When I spoke to the manager at Home Depot, she treated me as though I was a complete idiot for making such a request. I have worked in retail positions where customer services is of the utmost importance and you can tell here, they simply don't care. There was so much more that could have been done to make this whole process right and they simply don't care. Had my husband not already installed the rest of the appliances, I would have told them to come and pick up every last one and issue a full refund. Will NEVER be shopping at Home Depot again because I don't need to give my business to a store that treats their customers that way. read more

I have a second home 1.5 hours west of St. Louis. About 2 months ago my refrigerator died and I have been dragging my feet replacing it. The spot is 31 inches wide which means the only thing that works is a basic 18 or 20 cubic foot with the freezer on the top. A side by side is too large. Each store has about 2 different models of these and I wanted stainless steel to match my existing appliances. Since no one is delivering to me out in the middle of nowhere I knew I had to get it picked up and brought out there myself. I visited this Home Depot on 2/12 at 5pm. I asked a woman for help and it turned out she was the kitchen cabinet helper and not the appliance helper but she was genuinely lovely and tracked down the two models I was interested in. I was trying to get all of this done on Wednesday 2/14 and these two models would not be available until 2/15 and 2/16. She was so nice and helpful and I wish I caught her name. This was my first stop and had the availability worked out I would have bought one and been done with it. read more

Home Depot has a great and well-organized website which tells you where an item is located at in-store. I am not a big fan of walking around in a store (any store) trying to find one thing so this is really handy. The one complaint I have is that their associates will sometimes seem rather lost/confused. Of course, there are exceptions and I have obtained some great help from people here. Doing an item exchange or return is also a breeze here. Their customer service associates are very responsive and will get your transaction handled quickly so you can get back to whatever it is you're doing. I have visited and made purchases/returns/exchanges here in the past month since this is an easier access store than the other home improvement store nearby. There is a hot dog place (dirty dogz) right by the exit if you happen to have forgotten to grab lunch before heading to shop. Overall, this is a good Home Depot location. read more

We purchased a GE 27 cu. in. French door refrigerator at the Arnold store on May 22 with delivery for May 27 between 1-5pm. The store clerk said the delivery people (Hub Group Final Mile) would call us when they would before coming. At 7:15pm I received an email, not a phone, call indicating they would not be making the delivery and to reschedule. I called the Arnold store speaking with the night manager and she looked into it saying the delivery would be the next day. I found out from her the information on Hub Groups phone number but they supposedly work 7am-6pm. Now mind you, per the delivery companies instructions, we had to take everything out of the frig and freezer and store it in three large coolers. So we put back into the frig/freezer all the we could that wasn't thawed out or didn't smell right after We The next morning I called the Hub Group delivery service and their rep said they do not make next day deliveries, so a reschedule was made for May 31 read more

I'm afraid things have gotten even worse for Home Depot. My previous one star review was for any appliance that requires installation. We just bought a washer that stopped working on the first wash. Four hours on the phone later, seven different people, finally one of them was kind enough to tell us that you can reject an appliance delivery in 48 hours for a full refund. We walked into this Home Depot late last Wednesday to get a washer and dryer. We easily found an employee to help us narrow down the choices, which at first seemed overwhelming. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, but he gave us a personal recommendation of a brand he had used for years. The only thing I did't like was that Home Depot outsources their delivery team, so make sure to check for dents or marks prior to signing for the delivery! We ordered a new steel front door for our home. The special order process was really good, the man in the store was extremely helpful. We got to see the door today and it appears to be beautiful. I can't wait to see it installed. The only problem with the store on this purchase was encountered by my contractor when it was time to pick up the new door. A lady from the store called me this morning to tell me again that I must call the store 2 hours before pickup or he would wait a long time to get the door. I personally called the store at 2:30PM and set the whole thing up. When my contractor arrived at the store... No door. Grabbed a rental truck and 1/4 ton of dirt from these guys before picking up a patio set and toting everything back home. Staff was very agreeable and the truck was reasonably priced. I really appreciated it when they reset the clock on the rental to reflect when I actually check-out with everything instead of when I walked away from the counter. I've had the absolute worst experience purchasing blinds through Home Depot and having them installed through the company they contract through. The single star is because the blinds that are hung look very nice BUT it's been a headache every step of the way and still is. I bought the blinds in the store, had to take a day off for the installation company to come out and measure my windows, another day off to have them installed only to find out one set of blinds was cut improperly and needs to be reordered and another set was the wrong size and a new set had to be cut to replace it. Fine. That was two weeks ago. During that whole time no one from Home Depot or the installation company called me once until today only AFTER I called Home Depot for the third time and the installation company today myself. And now they say their next availability for installation on a Saturday isn't until August 3rd which is more than five weeks from the original day of installation. Sure they can do it sooner if I want to take another day off work which would make three days of vacation I'd have wasted on BLINDS! Don't go to these fools. It's not worth it. Worst customer service ever. There's no such thing as going the extra mile with them. And if HD continues working with this installation company they're going to continue to have customer complaints. read more

I don't even want to give one star. The purchasing of the washer was the only thing that went smoothly which now I regret even coming to Home Depot. I still have yet to receive my washer a month later with two failed delivery attempts due to god only knows what. I was given the run around multiple times and told different answers over and over again. The only way to contact their warehouse delivery service is via email, where no one ever wants to respond. No one ever called me to say it wouldn't be delivered so I waited all day for them to come both times. The first time They rescheduled someone literally told me they can't promise it won't happen again. And after the 2nd failed delivery they are telling me someone picked up my appliance the day before it was supposed to be delivered and now I have to wait for an investigation to be completed before I get anything. I'm am so beyond irate about how unprofessional this has been and will never go to Home Depot again. You really need to get a new delivery contract because this is completely ridiculous and unprofessional. BUT of course I'm sure no one really cares because it's not like you're the one without a washer at all right now!! read more

Trying to get my basement installed and since they have gotten my money they have not cared at all about the customer. I had to call the contract company and schedule my own installation. Then I said I wanted my materials delivered... that was not setup. Told them what days I was available for delivery then they scheduled it on a different day. Was told I would be given a time frame for delivery then come to find out I actually just have to sit around my house for 14hrs and wait... still waiting 12hrs later. We came here for blinds after some other shopping in the area. The man who works in that area was very patient and helpful. My husband is a home depot cardholder and he usually gets 5% off purchases. This store is now a test store, and are supposedly cheaper than others in the area and will not give cardholders their percentage off. We are not happy about spending a few hundred dollars and then hearing that. There were no signs, or anything I've heard letting us know this otherwise we wouldn't have shopped this location. read more

Today around 6pm, I went to this Home Depot and as I walked int saw the store sign at the entrance stating all customers put on masks before entering... which I do because I'm undergoing Chemo treatment. I did my shopping and was at the self-checkout when an associate, wearing her masking below her nose continued to walk around, within 6 feet of everyone, I asked that she put on her mask or step back. She told me I could leave now, bye-bye... as I tried to leave to step towards me and told me I could leave. I told her to put on her mask so I could step past her. She raised her voice again and said I could leave, I said I couldn't until she put on her mask and asked her why she wasn't wearing a mask. She continued to raise her voice about some nonsense about me leaving. I asked for the manager and she refused. When another associate came over and took me to a manager to report the issue. I know we all have bad days but this associate clearly crossed the line. read more

This review is for the Home Depot's plants. Do not go here to purchase plants. They are putting local nurseries out of business because they can offer plants at cheaper prices due to bulk buying. You certainly get what you pay for. It is not cheaper to have to dig up the dead plant and return it just to start all over. Home Depot and Lowes has put a lot of nurseries out of business that grew the plants locally. The shipped in merchandise that they offer often cannot succeed in St. Louis climate / clay soil. Go instead to - Greenscape, Sugar Creek, Sherwood, Hartke. Richmond Heights or Kirkwood Market and support your local businesses. Home Depot staff know nothing about the plants they sell. If you buy a rose you can count that it is diseased or full of bugs that will infect the rest of your garden. The local nurseries all have staff that can provide guidance if you need help deciding what to buy for the location you intend to plant. read more
