Let me start by giving Axel a shoutout, followed by Will Lots of parking, which is usually the norm for Home Depot. Walked around looking for what I needed. There weren't many staff members in the area I was in to ask for help, but eventually, we bumped into Axel. He was so helpful, even though he was from another department in the store, and was thankful that he helped instead of saying no or finding us someone else which would then have us wait. Great customer service. After searching on the computer with us for the appliances, we had to return with measurements to make sure of what we wanted to purchase. So we had to end up leaving and coming back. When we got back, it seemed busier, but there were only two customers ahead of us waiting for assistance. We shopped in the meantime and picked up a few other things. Let me say Will made this process with appliances easy to navigate and made selecting just what we needed such a smooth transaction, and we also got to save by bundling with the purchase There was no long line for checkout, and I also received assistance. The staff was helpful during this entire process at this location. I'm disabled and require the use of a walker/rollator. We came in to find wasp killer and entered through the garden center. The pathway going into the store was completely blocked by someone who was restocking. He could have angled the pallet he was stocking from, but he had it completely blocking anyone from going through. This would have required me from exiting the garden center and reentering from a different entrance. The guy who was restocking just looked at us and rolled his eyes before continuing. In a previous visit, I was looking for something in the garden center and couldn't find it. When I asked for help, the worker treated me like I was stupid cause I did t know where it was. You can do, they can help! Well, not really. There's not a lot of help around at this store. Aisles are bereft of assistance. Eh. This one offers a pretty large outdoor selection though. Lots of plants. Did you know that while most retailers look for the Christmas season for the biggest numbers of customers, but Home Depot (HD) looks forward to the springtime, when people are doing planting and home improvement projects. I dislike how this HD is in a different configuration from the other ones. It's all kinda turned 90 degrees. It seems to be more lacking in the lumber department than other Home Depots. There's a tool rental desk here. I was unhappy that for the longest time, they were flying their Texas flag upside down! I mentioned it to them, and nothing happened for months. Prices are pretty on par with Lowe's, but if you look for seasonal sales, you can save. read more

I came in for just a few items and was completely ignored while shopping -- no help when I struggled with containers, no help in the cleaning section, and no help finding vacuums. The moment I placed smaller items in storage bins to carry them, I was suddenly approached multiple times, not with real service, but with suspicion. At self-checkout, an employee told me she needed to check the bins "because people like to put stuff between them." This was insulting and implied I was trying to steal. When I returned my items and explained to the manager that I felt profiled, her response was: "We are a pretty diverse team, I'm sorry you felt that way." That didn't address the issue at all. On top of that, I noticed employees staring at me during the return, which only confirmed the profiling. I will not shop here again. Service was bad. Waiting hours and hours for an appliance to be delivered, just to be told the driver was turned away from the neighborhood for not having his driver's license.. The second time they came, same issue. The second driver had a license but couldn't drive a standard transmission.... What a joke. No online military discount in a military city...?!? My time is more valuable than the discount they offer. Not to mention the hours on hold to try and get an answer when they would redeliver... Not to mention the promises of call backs that never happened. A phone number is only as good as the person answering the call. read more

The number of visits I made to this location is strictly based on necessity. I would rather not be here if I can help it. In any event, I appreciated the online ordering for pickup at curbside so much. This prevented me from having to wander aimlessly looking for things. I always found that if I was in the store looking for something, I could never find help. When I found someone, they were either uninterested, not helpful, or tried to upsell. The silver lining was Richard, who consistently brought out my order. Richard was always so friendly and kind no matter how many times I ordered in a day. So, I used to be a Lowe's girl, but, recently, I have found Home Depot to have a better selection of plants - and plants is what I have wanted lately. We got some beautiful Gardenia plants. First, I only got one, but when I saw how pretty it was, and that the deer didn't bother it, I decided to pull up some unhealthy and ugly looking Rosemary plants and plant more Gardenias. They look lovely - such an improvement! I also got a couple of Jasmine plants, some Lantana and a couple of Salvia plants. During the quarantine, we have taken the opportunity to spruce up our home and landscaping, and Home Depot has been very useful. We got Granite Grip, a coating for concrete, to use on our front porch and walkway. I also want to get new cushions for an outdoor settee, and some solar lights. We're on a roll! read more

I came in to return some items, receipts in hand; and Suzanne, the cashier at the return center was rude, I purchased about 10 different items within a week, using two different business cards and she said she couldn't return the items because I needed both cards even though I just wanted to return the items with the card in hand. She proceed to ask me to TELL her what items on the receipt I wanted to exchange. This is a really great place to buy a Christmas tree, the tree's here are big and they are all wrapped so none of them have been just already open and loose you can pick and choose. It's nearly impossible to get 5 stars out of me...Bear that in mind as you read about my two very recent, FANTASTIC experiences at this location. A couple weeks ago, stopped by the garden section to get some "Lava rock" to put in my new chimenea. The young lady that helped me was so fantastic! Very nice, very personable. Directed me right where I needed to be and I was on my way! Last night, stepped in before the FREEZE attempting to get something to wrap my brother's palm trees. Directed to the garden section once again, the gentleman that helped me went above and beyond. They were out of the blankets he'd usually recommend, so he personally walked me over to the paint department to show me what else I might use. Very helpful, and again, personable. Then, had problems checking out, but there were a couple women that were very nice and got me on my way just as fast as possible. Wish everyone was as helpful as those I've met in this Home Depot. read more

Suzanne has the most terrible attitude I have ever dealt with. She literally cut me off mid-sentence and had me wait to for a manager. While I was standing there she called a manager and I could clearly tell she was making snarky comments about me. This is the second time I'm writing a positive review for this location, albeit on a different platform this time around, and I had a lot going on at the time of the encounter that just recently settled out, so I hope I remember the names correctly. So here we go! I went in to this location thinking I knew exactly what I needed, so I had that air about me, I presume. But after minutes of looking in an aisle at what I thought would help me and not finding the immediate solutions I needed, I felt dejected. That's when I met Jeff (I think it was Jeff. Yo, "Jeff", if I forgot your name I apologize!) I told Jeff about what I was up against, and he brought in his coworker Ryan or Kyle (once again, so sorry guys. I tried to remember your names!) and the two of them set about to help me figure out how to best accommodate my senior father who was recently recovering from full knee replacement surgery. These two young men went out of their way to walk me through the aisles and through possible solutions to help me help my father in his recovery, and their help was immense. Kyle/Ryan (once again, bad at names) helped me pick out risers for my fathers chair, and Jeff (I think it's Jeff, so sorry) even pointed out to me that they had toilet seat risers available for purchase and walked me right to where they were. And happily so! I was so stressed and these employees went above and beyond to help me find solutions. All this to say, I love this Home Depot because I always get the help I need there. We were doing a PVC pipe diy project for our baby. Went to Lowe's and they said they wouldn't help cut the pipe. So we gave this Home Depot a call to see if they would help us cut the pipes to fit in our car. Joel came to the rescue! No fancy saw, he just whipped out some PVC pipe scissors, measured and cut us over 10 cuts. We really appreciated his help! read more

The service we have received from the repair department has been terrible. We purchased a Ryobi lawnmower from Home Depot and had to take it to this location to be repaired because it was still under warranty. It has been sent off to Atlanta three different times to be repaired, all of which we had to pay for, and returns back each time still not functioning (leaving us with no lawnmower for the past six months). No one will take ownership for this problem nor request it to be replaced as the warranty states. Worst customer service we have ever experienced. read more

In January My husband ordered a refrigerator, he got a message the evening before the delivery date confirming the delivery time. I took off work so as to be home when they delivered. They never delivered. No email, no phone call, no txt as to why. My husband had to call and schedule another delivery, the man on the phone asked him how important the refrigerator was to us, and How badly we needed it. the man couldn't schedule us for another week after It was suppose to already be at our house. Now in February, my husband bought us a washer and dryer. The delivery date was set for the 3rd of February. They didn't show AGAIN! my husband had to call again to reschedule the delivery. Ah, this Home Depot has seen us walk through the doors for many a home project and numerous battles with the yard. The staff, while seemingly always busy or in the middle of something, are really smart cookies. While HD does not have everything in stock all of the time, they do have quite a few higher end home renovation items and the ability to order what you need. We utilized HD for a bathroom remodel last year and purchased a gorgeous glass, above the counter sink that we adore but had to go to Lowes for a black toilet. Even with a receipt and returning within the specified time frame with an unopened box, Home Depot will not process a return for anything other than a freaking store credit if your credit card is compromised!!! There was a girl at the home Dept on Dezavala/I-10 in San Antonio and she was clearly an employee. I could not see her apron name, maybe Miranda. She was Hispanic, short glasses hair in a pony tail. I approached her and asked about tie-downs and she looked so confused and said, "you can ask that guy over there," referencing another employee. I asked, "Don't you work here?" She said, "I do, but that's not my job, I do something different." I was so surprised about how much lack of care or interest she had in wanting to work with me. I usually do not shop Home Depot and my business for home investments go to Lowe's...now I remember why. Seems HD staff care much less. Will not be shopping at Home Depot ever again. I showed up tonight only an hr before the store closed. I was searching for a fridge I found online. It was freezing outside, and the store was almost empty, I was about to leave as I was just shopping on a whim, when Lindsay stepped in to help me. Normally a cashier, she was walking through the appliance department, found me what I needed online, honored the price! Got me set up with a credit card, and scheduled my delivery for the day that worked best with my schedule. Scott was also super helpful, and super sweet with my daughter and they both made me buy something I was only considering because they were so helpful and accommodating! 5 stars for me! NEVER buy an appliance from this these people. I have never had as frustrating an experience buying an appliance in my life. It appears that someone who is not specialized in selling refrigerators, sweet enough, sold me a frig and got everything wrong. Told me I could get the frig in a 5 days because my previous frig had died. Took 2 weeks. Fine. Couldn't remove the old frig because I needed a cutoff valve. Wasn't told anything about that so had the removal rescheduled for another week. Had a plumber tell me a valve under the sink. Showed up a day early while I was gone to take the old frig away and now the valve has to be behind the frig.. slammed my door on the way out. Horrible communication wasted everyone's time. read more

I have a bad review for the general customer service for this store. We asked for service in plumbing over and over again to have a pipe cut. No one came, and then I was told the person who can cut it wouldn't be in until. What the heck? Why isn't there always someone available? And the pipe couldn't be threaded because the machine is not working and a work order was put in weeks ago. Thank God for Scott!!! He saved the day. He got our pipe cut manually because it was too small for the machine in the first place. Shout out to Scott. I hope management recognizes his great customer service. I remember when I moved here from Houston and the first time I walked in this very Home Depot. I was amazed, awed, shocked, surprised and all of the above when not one, but two people asked "Hey ma'am, can I help you with anything?" That doesn't happen near enough in the bustling metropolis we call Houston. I like San Antonio. I like it a lot and I like the Home Depot here. This HD is great. It's our go-to place for home projects, and just any of my honeys basic necessities (all wants I might add)! I do have to agree with Aliyak K. when she says that they don't always have what you need in stock or even at all sometimes, but the staff is so extremely helpful, it makes up for it. They will also give you recommendations on who might have what you need, which is refreshing! I noticed last night just how attentive and smart some of these guys are. For the most part they really know THEIR particular department and if they don't, they get someone for you who does know it. Overall, I think that this HD is top notch & I never mind going on in there with my other half because I almost always find something I want in the design center area. What?! we ordered 3 tool boxes online for delivery in two days. we attempted to track the order online the following day and it didn't have any info so we called the number it provided for customer service, but they told us that we needed to contact the actual store it was being shipped from. we called the store and they weren't able to help us. So three days after placing the order we came down to the store. we have been here over 25 minutes dealing with clerks whom have no clue what to do because apparently they have to split the order between this store and another and that involves some level of logistics that this staff is unable to handle...it was about four clerks calling other staff and discussing amongst one another. The whole point to ordering online is convenience and this whole ordeal has been extremely inconvenient. We will no longer do online ordering with Home Depot. read more

I went this morning to rent a carpet cleaner......had to wait in line for 45 minutes to checkout since only one person was behind the counter. Got the machine home, filled up with water and cleaning agent and......the brush on the bottom wasnt working. Ive now been on hold for 15 minutes while I wait to speak to someone....perhaps there is something that I can do to the machine to get it to work. Minute 18.....just got hung up on. BUYER BEWARE! I bought a bug zapper that after a month did not work. I brought it back to Home Depot and Darby asked if I had a receipt. I showed her my receipt via a picture on my phone. She said she could not accept it since it was on my phone even though they could have easily scanned it. I showed them the credit card info on my phone but they said I would need to print my credit card statement on paper if I wanted a return. After speaking to two Asst Store Manager, Andrew and Carlos they told me it was their policy not to honor a receipt via a phone picture. I then left and called their Corp office. Their Corp office said that this info was incorrect and apologized and sent a gift card for my trouble. I then returned to my house and printed my receipt, printed my credit card statement, and brought my passport. After returning to the store I finally was given a store credit by Darby. I then spoke to Andrew again and informed him that my family had recently ordered a measurement for carpet and we were purchasing $9500 in carpet from his Home Depot this week. But due to their horrible customer service we have decided to cancel our order. It was only at that time that Andrew decided to apologize. Maybe next time they decide to treat a customer like crap over $57 they will remember this example. I have called Corp office and asked for a call back and so far nothing.
