I needed to buy materials for a project I'm starting in my back yard and decided to come here first, I was able to find everything very fast. I like that they have the big carts to transfer wood and big materials. It definitely came in handy and I was able to transport wood easily to my truck. The only thing I was not happy with is that no one asked if I needed any assistance and there were several employees at the entrance just standing around. Good thing I brought assistance with me. I understand that workers may want to help customers, but if someone did not ask for help in the first place, there is no reason to walk up & be rude & just start helping when help was not asked for . I hate that this is my local HD. Every trip is a headache for one reason or another. First, returning anything is a minimum 20 minute wait in an understaffed returns lane. Every single time. Any other HD has 2-3 people helping and moving the line along. Not here. Then, I tried buying a rug that rang up at a different price than listed. The sign said $69, but it rang up as $79. While I was waiting for an agent at self checkout I found it on the website, confirming $69. I showed it to the agent and she asks me for my photo of the price sign. Why would I take a picture of the price sign? She said I needed a photo to get the price. So I trudge back over to the far corner of the HD to take a photo of their own price sign to get a price that should be correct in the system. I hate this HD. read more

Hubby and I were at Home Depot at Marketplace last night. We asked for assistance in appliances twice from a employee, she did called it the first time, than walked away. I am not an experienced DIY'er but I was tasked with building a custom shoe shelf and I want to acknowledge and thank David for helping me I have no clue what I'm doing and asked two guys who the lumber expert was. Both said Dave so I waited for him and I'm super happy I did. He went above and beyond to walk me around the store explaining everything I needed to do. Workers are very nice and helpful. 5 stars. But the prices are good, as well as their selection, as expected for Home Depot! It's pretty crowded! Definitely due to the fact that it's in a city and I usually go to suburban locations. I had a deal for the carpet that the workers in the back helped me get. They were helpful and cut the carpet for me. Checkout is a little slow with only 1 register open and a long line. The person running the register gave me a bit of a hard time and took forever. I know it's a language barrier as she didn't really speak English and I feel bad complaining about that especially being so close to Mexico but between her limited English and my limited Spanish it took about 10 minutes to check out after 20+ minutes of waiting. She also refused to apply the deal and unfortunately could not do basic math and needed a manager to help with square footage because she did not understand me. 2 stars to this person but I understand the struggle. She was an honest worker trying to do her job correctly. I'd even admit that's my bad for being bad at Spanish. I can order food and make small talk but not discuss hardware and measurements and explain deals in Spanish. It's San Diego after all, which is basically Mexico! Everything else was great though. I would give it a 3.5 if that was possible. Everything went okay, just took a long time. I guess that has something to do with city life and crowds. Anyway I was here for a business trip and the time and cost do not affect me personally. Besides the cashier, I'm very grateful for the help that people in the store for their help and advice, outside the store (doing lumber/forklift stuff) for being nice, and some random guy that helped me carry a table outside (because I was 1 person carrying a carpet and table and 3 chairs and was struggling), but I don't even know if he's an employee there. Very nice of him to do that! I had a positive experience and am not mad about the time wasted. I'm sure that would be annoying for people living their day to day life though and I would probably give it a lower rating if I lived around here and wasn't traveling. read more

Home Depot is my go-to store. When I am feeling blue and need to get out, I go to the Home Depot. I always find something I need for my garden or home. I also find thing I don't need but am positive my husband can use. I love the Garden department with all the plants, pots, vegetables, soil, rocks and so much more. My only negative is I can never find a salesperson to help me, so I spend a lot of time walking around finding things on my own. So far, it has had what I needed and I'll give the employees credit, too, because they have been highly courteous in assisting with my needs. I try to stay focused on my needs when I'm in Home Depot, because there are other things there I would love to get my hands on, like a couple of new lamps. I did buy special light bulb there that cost me $30! Yes, it surprised me, but I do hope it has many more months of usage to provide me. My only real hit on this superb home and hardware center is the lot is not the best kept and some shelves in the store could be better maintained. But in no way is this a deal-breaker. Purchased a gift card from Home Depot on marketplace, ended up being a victim of fraud. There was no money on the card when my roommate went to purchase material for repairing my house. The card gift card was scratched by the cashier. I went to the front to file a complaint immediately, Nothing happened. He didn't get me my money back or a new gift card. I was told to contact their 1 800 number for customer care. I went to a different Homedepot. The manager was very helpful. That's how I found out. I was the victim of fraud. Customer service at the marketplace. Home Depot is bad and always has been. They have rude employees and are very unhelpful. My next step now is to file complaint with the CEO of Homedepot. I went to the register and they rang up wrong I tell the cashier that they are on sale and like a person with out a clue she says "well they didn't ring up on sale so they're not on sale" she directed me to the customer service inside, I tell her the same thing, & she has to go ask someone ‍ that someone tells her it's only for online, ANOTHER LIE. the ad doesn't stipulate online only so I returned everything. I bought $125.00 worth of merchandise, and returned it all. I am not buying anything. I get home call Home Depot want to talk to a supervisor or manager they put me on hold 8 minutes they don't get a manager they want to know what's my problem I tell them and then this person says oh the ad is over they just didn't take it down, if you come I'll give you the sale price. I'm writing to say a special thank you to the appliance team at the Imperial Marketplace Home Depot location. When my LG refrigerator recently stop cooling (10 years of use) I decided to purchase a new one. When I arrived I was given a great deal of attention by the appliance team (Kim, Anyssa, Arturo, and Cody the store manager). I share their names because they made me feel like family by going the extra mile. After ordering my new fridge we found that it would take around 4 days for delivery. Without asking, Cody, the store manager offered a temporary smaller fridge to use while we waited on our new fridge to be delivered. On top of that he encouraged us to work with his team to ensure we got the best deal on the item. I call that service and going the extra mile! I definitely recommend supporting this store and if you need an appliance ask for any member of their team I listed above. They will treat you like family!!! read more

I use Home Depot regularly, but I'm quite upset about their Delivery System. My package arrived and an item was missing. When I reached out to their support, I was told I had to call my bank to fix it. I then told the customer service rep that I didn't want a refund, I was just informing them that an item was missing so they could send it to me. Apparently, I now have to call my bank and dispute the charges so an investigation could start. Then once the investigation is over I will get refunded the money and I can replace my order. Well guess where my order will not be placed!! I can't believe I have to jump through hoops to get what I paid for. My review is on the tool rental part of this store. My experience was not bad. I came early, about 8am to rent a Tiller. Maybe because either was a weekday and early. I did not have to wait. I was assisted fast. I had never used a tiller, so the associate explained how to use the machine and what could be my best choice in size. I chose the medium size one, which was $50 for 4 hours. I should have picked the large one, the work would have been easier. Thats my fault. The associate let me know, if I had picked the wrong one. I could call them back and let them know I need to swim out models. At no extra fee other than the rental cost difference. Of you rent a tool here. I do recommend you get the warranty, because accidents happen. The only reason i did not give a 5 star. Was because many of their tools were missing parts. So that would be another thing you want to do before renting. Overlook the equipment, before leaving with it. read more

This was my experience with Customer Service the last time I visited this location. I was returning a 1/4" snake auger (for clearing clogged drains) which was $19.99 and BRAND NEW (snake end tip was still shrink wrapped sealed, and the metal snake still had the packaging lube seen inside the take up spool, and had the instructions intact. Well the older white male who served me impolitely said it's not returnable. I didn't recently have a chance to say hello, and he just said he won't refund it, no ifs ands or buts. He said it was a safety hazard and said he won't return it. I told him, "Look sir! It's brand new, I purchased a liquid Drain-O like solution from Home Depot the day before on the same purchase which worked so well, the snake auger wasn't needed. I told him I wasn't told that the snake auger was not returnable at the time of purchase. The guy yelled over me to the next customer in line, and said "Next!" I've never been treated so rudely, so disrespected, and with no effort or attempt to see the issue from my viewpoint/position. I went to the cashiers area, got a hold of a supervisor who earnestly listened to my concern, and directed another cashier to help refund my purchase. Thankfully, my issue was able to be resolved with unnecessary efforts on my part to fix what I believed was blatant disregard for understanding my request for a refund of a brand new item, which once restocked, no one would ever know that it was previously a returned item since it was never used. I hate to say it, but the issue at customer service felt like blatant bias/prejudice/discrimination power being displayed by the employee towards me. That is the only reason I'm leaving this review. I mentioned this to the supervisor who assisted me with refunding my item, and while he did resolve that part, he did not look interested in addressing the discourteous treatment one of their employees had reportedly projected towards one of their shopping patrons. read more

My husband, and I have been patrons of the marketplace Home Depot since the day the doors opened. Since the change of the kitchen and bath design center for walk-in to appointment only with Kim Patino the service has been subpar at best! 10 days ago, my husband walked into the store to get help with laying out our new kitchen remodel. When he encountered Kim she did not have time to speak to him and told him it was by appointment only and asked that he email her. He proceeded to email her that same day. To date (as you may recall I said it was 10 days ago), Kim has yet to respond to that email. My husband and I went to the store on Saturday, 2/3/24 and again, no Kim. My husband followed up with a phone call that same week and still received. no call back from Kim. My husband called again at 11:55am on 2/8/24 and was told by Robin that Kim was gone for the day. However, Robin took the time to schedule an appointment for us on Kim's calendar for today at 1 PM. When we showed up for our appointment, we were told Kim had just clocked out for lunch. Make it make sense.....The department is by Appt. only, the individual that is responsible for the Appt. takes her lunch at the time and appointment is scheduled. ???!!! So, because Kim, being the unprofessional person that she, is went to lunch at a time that she had an appointment scheduled we asked to speak to her manager, Armando. i It took him 10 minutes to show. The unprofessional and poor Customer service is a trickle down from the top! Since the declining customer service at Home Depot for all the many years that we've been patrons there now we're considering giving Lowe's a shot. Just to give you an idea of how committed we are (should I say were) to Home Depot, my husband has been a handyman for over 30 years. Any projects or renovations that we have whether it be on our Home or someone else's, we start out with Home Depot. Home Depot may have lost a valued customer. On 07/02/22, I was at Home Depot located at: 355 Marketplace Avenue, San Diego. I injured my leg and foot when I reached up to get a brick . 3 bricks just started to fall off the rack. One of those small bricks fell on the left outer side of my knee and landed on my foot. A huge knot, size of a golf ball developed on my left leg. Manager took my information and was told Home Depot would contact me. Manager didn't even take pictures of the injury. He did offer first aid. Went home after that and put ice. Terrible service. Purchased cabinets back in November of 2021. Back ordered and we're not installed until April 2022.... Minus two doors. Installer said two doors were wrong size and would have to order new sizes. It is now the end of August and I still do not have these doors. I paid $26K upfront and this has been a total nightmare. Nobody answers their phones and Home Depot takes zero responsibility for their installation contractors. They hire and fire on a daily basis so the turnover is high. Do not do business with them. I was informed that they don't sell individual parts here since it was a part sold by the original manufacturer. However, Joe came around to help and he was so persistent and kind. He was understanding when I asked installation questions and was very patient since he took the time to try different contraptions to help me out, especially because I didn't want to buy a whole new bidet when only one small part was broken.
