I had a disappointing experience at the Home Depot on Story Road in San Jose. I drove to the store to pick up my custom window after being notified it was ready. When I arrived, I was told the window was blocked by other merchandise and the staff couldn't retrieve it. Instead of resolving the issue, I was simply asked to come back another day. I tried calling the store several times afterward, but no one answered the phone. I didn't want to make another wasted trip without knowing whether my order was actually accessible. I understand that mistakes happen, but customers shouldn't have to spend their time driving to the store only to be turned away because the order isn't available. Better organization, communication, and customer service would have made this experience much better. I hope the store improves its order pickup process so this doesn't happen to other customers.

I had a really great experience at The Home Depot thanks to a cashier named Christy. What surprised me most was how knowledgeable and professional she was--even while helping with something as simple as checkout. She went above and beyond by offering helpful recommendations, which I truly didn't expect at that stage of the visit Thank you, Home Depot !

I came here before closing and the staff at the front still greeted me and were very friendly! I ended up looking for a very particular item that we were looking for and the lady at the front was super friendly and helpful while checking out! The price was incredibly cheap and I couldn't skip out on this opportunity to buy items at such a great price! I would definitely recommend checking out this place for clearances products!

While in town, my husband and I came in to get a smoke detector as we needed a replacement. It was quick and easy. We came in to get what we needed and got out in minutes. This smoke detector alarm was $32.78 including tax. Service was quick. Got what we needed.

IMHO I came on the day after Thanksgiving to buy a Doorbuster deal of poinsettias at 8:30 a.m. Silly me thought it was early enough to get what I wanted. I found some poinsettias and went to self-check-out. Thankfully there wasn't a wait. Unfortunately, my poinsettias rang up at the wrong price. I was told that I had chosen the wrong poinsettias. I went back to where the poinsettias were displayed, and a nice clerk told me that they had sold out of the "2 for $2.50" deal before 7 a.m.!!! Shucks! Next year, I'll be there at 6 a.m.!!! The good thing was the number of employees around to ask for help! I attribute it to the fact that it was Black Friday, and they were expecting a lot of customers. Normally, finding help is often hit or miss. Anyway, everyone was nice and helpful. Will I return? Probably. It's in my neighborhood and convenient. Parking can be sketchy though.

This Home Depot is in a very busy strip mall. Parking was crazy busy on the weekend. The self-service checkout line was packed. It had been a while since I last made any house key. The machine is so easy now. Plus, after copying the original key, it reminds you to not forget it in the machine after just taking the newly copied key.

This place is okay. Lots of parking at night. Not a lot of people whenever I go. Longest I had to wait was probably 3 people at self-checkout. There's staff isn't that cordial lol but overall they help you out if you find them. For item selection: Definitely a few times I went when they didn't have buckets or lids. Something to keep in mind. As of November 2024 the Home Depot buckets are on sale for $4 each! Great value for such an iconic product. There's a few good Mexican food options outside, I think that's the real pro of going to this Home Depot. The location is definitely rough. Typical East San Jose.

Quality/Quantity - Grabbed a few quick items. Another easy in and out experience. Atmosphere - Consistent. Well, this seems like a larger HD than most...? Even the food truck in front had a larger menu than most other HDs...? Plenty of parking. Rental department, pro station, etc. Need a code for the bathrooms, see picture. The employee that let me in was less than friendly. Maybe they were having a bad day? No greeting and was not speaking at all. Just walked to the bathroom, typed in the code and walked away. Oh, that is right I'm at HD, the "self-service" culture... Open 7 days a week 6am or 7am to 8pm or 10pm. Service - Self service getting my product. No service trying to get into the bathroom. See above. Self service check out. Price - I don't even check. Very competitive. Almost a low price leader. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1978, now with 2335+ (since 2024) locations and growing. Ranked #5 (in 2020) on the Fortune 500.

I don't recommend renting tools from Home Depot. They are very poorly maintained. If you rent a broken one, like I did, they'll charge you for the repairs. I had to rent two tillers because the first one they rented me was defective from the start. Whatever, no big deal, I tool it back the next day and told them I needed to rent another one as the first one was defective. Also not a big deal. The big problem is a week later they charged my credit card for repairs on the defective machine. I explained to the store manager it was defective from the start, he said I should have bought damaged protection. I explained damage protection is for damaged caused by me, not for defective equipment. He didn't want to hear it. Contacting their customer service online was also a waste of time. They'll just keep saying there's nothing they can do, and that only a manager can refund me for the repair. I'll don't think I'll be coming back here, especially since theres really good Lowes and OSH nearby

Really bad customer service, staff is really unprofessional, rude. Everything unorganized. Even you need a help to call someone no body show up or if they show up they don't no nothing basically just doing formality. Need a some electrical stuff waited 35 min

refusing to sell me a faucet

honestly, I'm at a complete loss here I pick out a faucet take it up try to scan it. I'm told they have a "stop sale" and will not sell it to me. OK go back pick out different faucet. same result. WHY ARE THEY ON THE SHELVES!! The 2 star average is way over rated. I would give them negative if Yelp would let me.
