Since buying my home, Home Depot has been one of my favorite go-to stores for all my home improvement needs. So, I was extremely disappointed today when I placed a mixed order--half pickup, half delivery--and the app failed. When I arrived to pick it up, the check-in button didn't work, so I had to call Customer Service to assist notify the staff. (Also letting them know about the bug on the mobile app) Once the staff member finally brought out my order, she treated me with complete dismissiveness; letting me know that she didn't receive any notifications. When I explained the app glitch--as if my half hour waiting in the car was some cosmic insult. Customer Service, thankfully, was fantastic--kind and responsive--so it's a shame the store experience was so dismal. I hope you fix this before your reputation--like your app--completely crashes. I had a disappointing experience at the Home Depot on Story Road in San Jose. I drove to the store to pick up my custom window after being notified it was ready. When I arrived, I was told the window was blocked by other merchandise and the staff couldn't retrieve it. Instead of resolving the issue, I was simply asked to come back another day. I tried calling the store several times afterward, but no one answered the phone. I didn't want to make another wasted trip without knowing whether my order was actually accessible. I don't recommend renting tools from Home Depot. They are very poorly maintained. If you rent a broken one, like I did, they'll charge you for the repairs. I had to rent two tillers because the first one they rented me was defective from the start. Whatever, no big deal, I tool it back the next day and told them I needed to rent another one as the first one was defective. Also not a big deal. The big problem is a week later they charged my credit card for repairs on the defective machine. I explained to the store manager it was defective from the start, he said I should have bought damaged protection. I explained damage protection is for damaged caused by me, not for defective equipment. He didn't want to hear it. Contacting their customer service online was also a waste of time. They'll just keep saying there's nothing they can do, and that only a manager can refund me for the repair. Okay what an awful experience I saw that the box of cords was on sale from $4.97 to $2.72 but the cashier Asian lady didn't like the price she was saying that wasn't the right price regardless that the tag said it was right. I showed her to price tag and the skull number but she did not have it she started to raise her voice at me and I was not having that kind of unprofessional interaction then I asked the manager "JAY" who handled the situation very quickly. They refused price adjusment only 1 week after purchase. We bought 9 pallets of pavers on March 28th. We got the bricks delivered on April 2nd. On April 3rd, the price went down. We tried to come to the store to do price adjustment on April 7. The store manager, Tony, refused to adjust the price. I've decided that Home Depot thinks they are a jewelry store. I wasted over an hour today trying to purchase a few items. First I had to find an associate to unlock the locked up merchandise, 20 minutes, then after they opened the cage, they had to bring it to a cashier, (in self check out), 10 minutes, then I had to wait in line at self check out, (10 minutes] and once at the register, had to wait for that associate to scan in my items so I can pay. (10 minutes). After I pay, I show the associate my receipt, and she unlocks the items from her cage at checkout so I can leave. (10 minutes). The biggest problem with this entire scenario is that I am at Home Depot almost every day, theft is not the problem, the problem is being understaffed and overpriced. read more

The manufacturer of Samsung refrigerators finally sent out a technician and was able to fix the fridge. Home depot is not a reliable place to purchase a refrigerator. Why do I love this store and particularly this location? -Lots of employees that make themselves available to help even on a busy Memorial Day weekend. -Cashier/checkout services was super fast; they didn't allow for a ling line to form. -Ponce was not only knowledgeable about trees but when my lemon tree (purchased here) needed a stake (it was getting transported to Sacramento) he walked me to the lumber section to retrieve what we needed and staked it for me! -I couldn't find a single lemon tree in the Sacramento area due to a citrus tree shortage; here there were 15-20 lemon trees to pick from, among manderine, grapefruit, and many other fruit trees. -Widest selection of plants and trees that I have seen, especially compared to the Sacramento stores. read more

I was there this afternoon to buy a Shower pan and there's only one left and it's located above eye level so I called a manager to get it down for me. She asked one of the guys and he said I don't think I can get it down using the scissors lift. He even told me if he cannot get it down, I HAVE to call someone to do it for me WOW ! Isn't it it's their job to do it ?. Anyway, one of the lady employees there said he can push the ones right next to it and get it down, he didn't, so lazy. It is not possible to give a negative star or zero star, so I went with one. The manager Melanie should not be a manager. HD has just lost my business at that store and I will try not to go to other HD's unless I cannot find a Lowes or others nearby. I asked to speak to a manager about an issue of their store policy and she took her time in getting to me even though I was told that she will see me in about 3 minutes. I saw her coming from the other end of the store and on the way she stopped and chat with other customers even when other HD associates were in the same group helping the customers. So, I went up to where she was and asked if she was the manager that was coming to see me. She did not say yes or no. She then minimized the reason that she was told why I wanted to see her and put on a jeering smile. I proceeded to tell her my issue and suggestion about more signage of their board cutting policy to make it clear so that I didn't not have to waste my time lugging around a 4x8 board, pay for it first, then told they cannot cut it. After hearing about my issue, she said "Is that all?", with no apology or if she was going to look into it. Very unprofessional and no respect for customers. How did she ever make it to being a manager is beyond me. read more

We decided to come here and check it out. We usually go to the one by Great Mall but that weekend I know the parking is a hassle over there so we decided to go to Story Road instead. Parking isn't better but we got to get a spot without driving around the lot. We got in and went to the lighting section. There are not alot of people in the store to ask for help (which I think accounts to most of their branches). This Home Depot is located in a rough patch on Story Road. Lots and lots of traffic with everyone and their grandparents honking and hollering. I would agree this branch is well stocked, but not necessarily well maintained. It feels like a madhouse walking into the store. Floor employees are hard to track down and customer service reps are horrible at maintaining professionalism. Lines are consistently long and the self checkout stations need a bit of work from a process perspective. We only visit to pick up household things when absolutely necessary because it's the closest HD to us. read more
