But The Home Depot has a wide selection of good and useful merchandise, so I bite my tongue and use The Home Depot as intended: for garden stuff, tools, building supplies, lights, hardware... and as I type this list I realize that every room in my house has either been repaired, decorated, or fitted out with things I bought at The Home Depot. The The Home Depot shopping experience is comfortable. The fact that it's rare to find a The Home Depot employee who can say where to find the thing I want, or how to use it when I find it, is inconsequential. The The Home Depot's website shows each item's location (aisle and bay), along with a running count of stock on hand, and God gave us YouTube for the rest. Also, showing up at The Home Depot with a shopping list helps me keep my off-budget expenses down, which is a huge benefit, since, as everyone knows, where overspending it concerned, The Home Depot is the Amazon of Costcos. On the rare occasion that I need to return something to The Home Depot, the process is always simple and painless. Popped into the Santee Home Depot to pick up a 40V Ryobi trimmer. All of the big-ticket items are locked in cages now. There is a QR code on each cage. Scan it to summon an employee to assist you. It only took about two minutes for an employee to arrive. She unlocked the cage; I grabbed the trimmer and she escorted me to self-checkout. I paid and was on my way. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. read more

I am in the market to buy a new refrigerator and stopped by this Home Depot because online said it had the fridge I was interested in seeing. Stan the sales guy who was helping me was very informative. He wasn't pushy but showed me around what options were available. I didn't go with the fridge here because I found the same make & model for less expensive at a competitor. The store is easy to get around and the large signs help direct you to where you want to go. read more

Amanda at Home Depot was AMAZING. I went up to Sean in customer service because I needed help with a plumbing issue, and he immediately knew Amanda was the one to help. Brittany was there too helping out, and Sean connected me with Amanda right away. My P-trap broke under my sink and I was stressed out, but Amanda knew EXACTLY what I needed and got me the right parts fast. She seriously took all the stress out of my day. This is a late review, but speaking only as far as their Christmas tree offerings, I would probably seek your tree elsewhere this year. I have purchased many trees from Home Depot , and the quality as just gotten worse each year. Last one died before Christmas even arrived . Ornaments good barely stay on the tree. In years past, I have bought a tree and found mounds of brown Christmas needles broken inside of it. The prices keep climbing as well. I feel like I am being priced out. They are not even affordable anymore. I don't want to pay that kind of money for a tree only for it to shed and die before the day even arrives. I had the tree maybe a few weeks tops, and took care of it. Their trees used to be good, but most look almost dead just in the lot itself. I will be looking into local farms, if I am going to pay the price, (Which I assume will be even higher this year) I might as well get something that will last longer I go there for the convenience, and I am sure that is how they get a lot of people, but the quality is not there read more

We popped into Home Depot, and a wonderful employee there, Karen, completely brightened Benjamin's day. She generously gave him a free bag of carrot seeds - how thoughtful is that?! She also chatted with us for a bit and told me what a really bright and observant kid she thought Benjamin was, which definitely put a big smile on my face. And Benjamin? Had a very good experience here today. I needed a small A/C unit for a bedroom, and an over the range microwave. I found the AC unit by myself, I already owned two others. They were great. They have a remote control, and for less than $150 you can't hardly beat it. But I also needed a large over the range microwave, and they had an LG on sale for $248, basically half price. There was one open box up on the shelf, and one display, and one supposedly in a box. A gentleman helped me find the box unit., It took a while because it wasn't where it was supposed to be, but he eventually found it, and he was very helpful. read more

This review is for one thing only, our new cockroach infestation that came with our new appliance purchase! I've worked at Home Depot, both the Sports Arena and newer El Cajon location. I know the warehouses are open to all kinds of rodent and pest issues because they have open bay doors to the elements daily. I've seen mice and rats, first-hand. What really got me was when I bought a Vissani 5.0 cu. ft. Manual Defrost Chest Freezer directly from the store and placed it in our garage. Two days later, I was returning to Home Depot to buy cockroach spray. My home is very clean, never having had cockroaches. Within that two day period, I had one medium cockroach in the house and encountered several smaller ones in the garage. Maybe I'm naive or ignorant to this issue, but brining home a new appliance and having a pest infestation due to that purchase is very unacceptable! Buying a new appliance in-store? Worst Home Depot experience ever, especially with the customer service. Order some tools online, but called in and canceled, one of the service desk lady canceled the item but never refunded the money. Called again in 3 days and another service lady said refund will be process the second called. Checked and never see a refund. Called again and asked to talk to the store manager name Kathleen. Emailed her all the information and screen shot of purchased and credit card paid as requested. Manager never reply back or update with anything. Now is time for a dispute. I had to special order some parts to finish a roof installation and you can only do that at the pro desk. I had the part numbers ready because I had ordered those parts before and had them all printed out. Easy Right! Six people behind the counter and the first two kept saying they would be right with me and then walk off. Then I got MATT with a attitude. I should have just left then but I needed to get the parts ordered to beat the rain. I felt very uncomfortable dealing with this person. He really was not the least bit interested in helping me and just going through the motions. My company will not be ordering any more roofing at this Home Depot. read more

Today we came into the Santee Home Depot to get some board and batten with trim for an accent wall. We were accompanied by an employee Saul who provided exemplary customer service. He was able to show us where the materials were at and even recommended options for trim. he walked us over to the area where you would cut the materials and did everything so quickly. He was very professional and knowledgeable. My wife is very happy and excited to start this new project in our home. We even picked up a new bucket of paint and the employee there was very kind and saved all of our projects under our phone number which is something we've never had done before. Great experience, amazing customer service, and awesome selection of product for my wife's vision. We love coming to our local Home Depot and are excited to come back for new windows soon. read more

I've had a bunch of problems with my floor replacing them and buying new floors within a short period of time. I probably got the new flooring 2 or 3 years ago and I've been having problems with my floor in my house ever since. HomeDepot has lied to me about the floor warranty. The guy came and replaced my kitchen flooring under a year ago now. Another thing, they lied to me about gluing the floors together because they said that's how you fix the floors that are coming apart. Then I spoke to another person from HomeDepot who said this isn't true for fixing the floors. The problem I'm having is that the clips that hold the floor together are coming apart and breaking somehow causing uncomfort in my home. I spoke to a store manager about this and they do not want to do anything. I highly suggest that you DO NOT BUY flooring from this place. read more

We have bought euphorbia/pencil cactus/coral plants from Home Depot in the past. Well not under Edith's watch in the Garden Center -- we were told to ask her for help by another associate and she decided to berate us for wanting the worst plant in the world and no they didn't have any because they are poisonous and dangerous. First she could ask us where we had in mind for planting them (on a hill to prevent trespassers onto our property) and second, she could leave her opinion and bad attitude at home and not force it on customers WHO HAVE BOUGHT THESE PLANTS FROM YOU BEFORE! Edith is doing a disservice to your store specifically and to the Home Depot brand more broadly. Please speak to her about her poor customer service so no one has to deal with that ever again. I am sorry that after a full day of gardening out in the sun- I cannot remember all the first names of the sales people and workers who help. Yesterday a very nice and very tall black man who helped me load materials on the truck. He was very caring. Also today (the day before Mothers Day a young man whose last name is Brown gave me helpful information about water softeners. Sun times the lumber guys are really grumpy with me- but it sort of evens out. Nice vs grumpy is about 75 percent to 25 percent in Santee. read more

I give 1 star because there was 1 lady in the cabinet department that actually did help us. Other than that, everyone complained about where we put our cart (not assisting in moving it through the maze of displays ) when we had to get another cart. Getting help loading , the box the toilet was in had the bottom open and when I pointed out that my sister and I would probably need that closed when we got it home, the guy begrudgely went and got some packing tape. As the box is pretty damaged, I hope the contractors when they unbox it will find it unchipped and not cracked. Appartently this is a small store and was even told to maybe look at El Cajon or Lemon Grove store for products, which we had to do for the other things on our list. To be honest, customer service at all Home Depot's that I have been to as awful. Which is why I normally go to Lowe's. However, this is about the curbside pick up at this particular location. This is the third time I've done curbside and nobody comes out. There is a phone number to call if nobody comes out within five minutes. I called that and nobody answers. Then I saw somebody in the parking lot that works here and asked them about it. They went in and said they're super busy so it's going to be a while. So like I do every time, I went in and there were three or four people standing around customer pick up, just talking and socializing. whoever manages this store needs to get a new job or be written up because this is a continuous problem. There is another gentleman next to me. That was also waiting for another 15 minutes without anyone coming out. Just ridiculous. You either offer curbside pick up or you don't. But don't say you have it and then never follow through. definitely never try to do curbside at this location. read more

love home depot but DO NOT ORDER WINDOWS THROUGH THEM!!! It will save you the head ache i have been through. Here is my reasoning I was in dire need for a new windows. My dog broke an old one. Since our windows were very old we decided to upgrade the rest of them. We went to home depot because we though it would be an easy flawless experience. They get you with their upfront attentive customer service in store (no complaint there). I was drawn to the fact that if i purchased windows from home depot i would have a lifetime warranty and i could just go to the store anytime a window Had an issue. I placed the order for 8 windows. Salesman came out did the measuring a tech came out to confirm the measurements. Eta for windows - 6 months due to covid... It is now almost 8-9 months and the STILL THE JOB ISN'T finished. 6 of the 8 windows came after 2 cancelled installation appointments on Home depots side. I used leave from work to make sure i was off for installation to find they cancelled last minute and 1 no show Addition after finally getting 6 installed THEY SAID THEY LOST ONE and incorrectly measured another one and they would have to go back to the manufacturer to make another one. To add to this poor customer service and lack of professionalism. Trying to get ahold of the installation manager to get an update on the project is like trying to talk to someone when you call the DMV. I believe his name is Jose Csisneros. As the 1 year date of purchase approaches i wonder if i will ever get the windows that i have paid for, installed or will i have to go to small claims court to get my money back If i could do it over i would not pay a penny until the install is complete and i would have gone with another company from the get go. I have shopped at this store for over 30 years. I wouldn't shop anywhere else until I purchased new granite kitchen countertops here a couple years ago. It was the 2nd time I purchased new granite for different houses. First time was a great experience. This time it was the opposite. Without being told or it being written in my sales contract, I was sold granite tops with edges glued on. Their contractor was California Crafted Marble in Santee. This company didn't tell me either and the fabrication was done poorly. They even admitted to me that they used white resin, that did not match, to attach the edges or sides. So, I had beautiful granite with white lines all around the edges. To make a long story short, I ended up speaking to two managers. Jonathan, who was super rude and hostile and Art Green who never called me back when he said he would and strung me along for months and months. Art told me several times he wanted me to be happy with the granite but never followed up as promised and he even offered me monetary compensation a few times, though he never said how much. He even stood in my house, after looking at the granite and telling me he would talk with his manager and find out how much compensation and get back to me. Which of course he didn't. I finally called him and he said my case was closed. There is nothing else they would do and the work was done to their specifications. I tried on several occasions to speak with the store manager Bill. He would not speak with me but I was told he concurred with everything and had in fact listened in on our phone conversations. I didn't know he was listening in, ever. I never went into this for any compensation. I didn't know what to do to make it right. Cal Crafted tried to fix a few spots but wouldn't do anymore, even though there were still a lot of white seams left. I even called the customer service department at the corporate headquarters and they took down my complaint but never gave me the courtesy of a conversation about it. I guess they read the online information on my account and decided not to even give me the time of day. So, after 30 plus years of purchasing 2 granite kitchens and a bathroom, countless high-end major appliances, custom window shutters in all my homes (I've owned 5 over the years), all new interior doors with all new moulding, complete outdoor landscaping projects, ceiling fans, light fixtures and on and on, I will never step foot in Home Depot again. read more

Me and the Hubby went into Home Depot in Santee to look at Washers and get some light bulbs. He asked for assistance in light bulbs and someone was called to assist. An older grey haired woman in her 60's came to assist us and asked my Husband did you need assistance and he said yes and from the moment she came you could tell she did not want to assist us. We obviously were bothering her. She had a poor attitude. He asked her to look up the special light bulbs to see if in stock or available at another location and was obviously irritated. Then she went on to ask "Is that it"? As if she was in a hurry to be done. Which she asked 3 different times. He had questions because they are not the usual screw on bulbs. I am not sure how people are trained for customer service but she definitely needs to be taught some people skills. read more
