Purchased. Washer and scheduled installation for 12/8. Explained that I would be available on delivery day all day until 4pm. The night before they texted me a delivery window of 3-7pm. Didn't end up mattering as they left me a voicemail at the end of the day saying "the truck broke down"and I needed to reschedule. Spoke to someone at length and they explained that they can't commit to any time of day and I wouldn't know the delivery window until the night before. Under these ridiculous limitations, I emphasized that the only possible day that I could be available at all hours would be 12/11. The night before I had received no delivery schedule info, so I called and found out that they had not put me on the schedule. The next chance would be 12/13. At 8:05am that day, I received the delivery window info, 8:30am - 12-30. Yup, 25 minutes before. After installation, they left without testing it and the drain hose, held on by a clip instead of a real clamp, flew off and drained water all over the floor. Few hours later still haven't heard back from the installers. read more

Unless you know exact part numbers of things you are looking for, douche bags in this place will try their absolute best to not help you. I asked for a tool for particular purpose, the douche bag said go to tool section and he said "It will be there somewhere". No wonder there is so many one star review. Most of people who work here are both incompetent and lazy (deadly combination), yet they are getting paid at least minimum wage. Oh well, the lesson learned. Emma does a great job! The inventory is always available and if you have any questions about paint they all seem very knowledgeable or know what direction to send you to get your answer. The rental experience with a power washer was terrible but they were short staffed. I was still able to rent which was better than just closing that section and I appreciated the effort. My sister and 3 year-old niece were in this location today getting keys copied. An older man who works there, named Dick, approached my niece and started touching her saying "aren't you a mischievous one". My sister, who is holding her at the time of the incident asked this man "please don't touch my daughter" and this man continued to do so anyways. When my sister complained to the manager not only did he immediately know which employee, but flippantly said "I'll talk to him." Needless to say, don't bring minors in here because they may be assaulted. If I could write 0, I would. The rental department is a joke. Basically, I rented a blower that ran out of battery after 5 minutes. When I called ahead for the rental, the guy said that it lasted at least 20 minutes and that a full battery would be included. When I went to return it, I ended up getting a bad attitude from someone named "Mark/Marcus." Basically, I told him that the battery was faulty. He said that it wasn't his fault, didn't you read the rental agreement? I was supposed to report it. I didn't report it, which I guess was my fault, which I accept. It said that Home Depot wasn't at fault. I said no one reads the rental agreement. The fine print was so small it's hard to read. He said that everyone read it. Okay, I get that. Maybe I waived away the liability. But what I was not happy about was when the guy then suggested that if the battery is faulty, since I didn't report it early, and didn't buy damage protection, I could be held liable for a faulty battery. What?!! He then rudely took the unit from me and said sarcastically "have a nice day." I reported it to a manager named Stuart who apologized and said he'd give me a gift card, but I have yet to hear back. I don't care about the cost of the rental. It's minute. I bought a100 year old house in Lowell in March of 2022 and proceeded to spend about ten thousand dollars at Home Depot in Tewksbury over the next six months fixing it up. One of the things I bought was an Amana dishwasher for $428.24. It also cost me $180 to install it. The dishwasher never worked right from day one. The dishes were never quite clean, and the unit smelled like sewerage no matter how many times I cleaned the filter. I tried to contact Home Depot on the phone and online and had no luck. I tried to contact Amana and had no luck. Finally, in frustration, I had the unit removed and drove it up to the Tewksbury Home Depot store. They said they had no responsibility whatsoever once an appliance left the store. The assistant manager was very unsympathetic. I left the dishwasher there and went home. This does not seem fair. Home Depot makes a profit by selling appliances. They sold me a defective appliance, but they took no responsibility whatsoever. I will never shop there again. I recently had the WORST experience with my washing machine being delivered. I would have give the store 1 Star, but previous experiences for paint and other small items has always been fine. My husband and I bought a new washing machine and opted for the installation and removal. They send out the machine and the installers say it can't be done because the hoses are still leaking even turned off. I almost have a heart attack because this just sounds like a plumbing nightmare. They tell me to get a plumber to fix this and then they can come back out. Luckily I have a friend who does some plumbing so he came over. The fucking techs just didn't drain the hoses. A completely normal step in the process; one that the instruction manual even refers to. My friend installs the machine and no problem. My husband called Home Depot to question this and they basically said "not my problem". This could have cost us hundreds if we had called an actual plumber--just to get one out to the house is expensive. And HD just is ok with the people going out installing their products to be scammers who don't do the job they were hired for. read more

Can I give zero stars? I ordered a bathtub , it arrived damaged, no one contacted me to let me know, I finally called them to ask where it was and they told me it was damaged and sold out. I must give a huge recommendation to Linda and her team in the paint department at Home Depot in Tewksbury. I'm remodeling my home, and have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars there because of their service. What started out as great service soon became my go-to folks if I had ANY questions about where to find things. Carpet tacks? Isle 14. Contact paper? "Let me walk you over, it can be confusing." Brought it back and the guy who's normally there with the chin hair, glasses and hat took it in to the back room where he shouted out to the counter that it worked fine. The shabbily-dressed, ill-mannered, homeless-looking woman at the counter refused to rectify the situation. When I told her I wanted to return the unused nails that I bought, with **a receipt** she said, "how do we know that receipt is from those nails"? Realizing I was talking to a rock, and positive this was the last time I ever give Home Depot another cent, I went over to customer service and said I wanted to return them and the fuel and they refunded me. I like this Home Depot specifically because of the inventory - as long as I can find what I want on my own. In general, it's going to be your typical Home Depot inventory, but it seems better in a couple of areas. One is lighting, both fixtures and bulbs. I can find a better assortment of light bulbs here than other Home Depots, especially closer to home in NY. Another is the seasonal stuff outdoors. Inside, it feels like a lot of the employees spend a significant amount of their time doing things like inventory control and driving large vehicles around - especially the senior employees, most of whom don't make eye contact with you. Not so for the younger crew; they tend to be friendlier and more helpful. It's in a very convenient location, but the parking lot can be a bit of a zoo on weekends. read more

I needed a new refrigertaor when my old one died. I bought a Whirlpool side by side. I have had nothing but issues. The refrigerator is less than 2 weeks old and I have had three installers here, problem still not resolved. The original installers didn't take the plastic off and screwed the door handles over the plastic. The second installer was great, installed the water, removed the plastic set it up. Now the door handles are crooked and it is driving me and my husband crazy. I want to return it but guess what? It is considered "cosmetic". It is defective, not cosmetic. I checked on-line to see if the Home Depot was open on Christmas Eve. Google verified it was but just below the hours & address were low reviews. Pish-posh I thought, I'd visited this Home Depot multiple times and had satisfactory experiences. When I got there, I was warned the store would be closing early for the holiday. No problem, I made a b-line to exactly what I needed and checked out. I go to the aisle with a man wearing the name "Robert" written on his apron. He barks, "Hurry up, Im ready to go home," as I was putting my card in the card reader. I only had two items--- 8 oz containers of wood stain to finish a project I'd been working on. I knew exactly where it was on the shelf and didn't daly. From the front door to checkout only took about 4 min. "I'd like a drink too." I said realizing the only refrigerator nearby was behind him. "It's 5 o'clock" he said. An excellent customer service rep would have turned around and retrieved the drink for me but instead I had to go all the way around the display and open a little gate to get to it. This process took 25 sec. Robert could have done it all in 8. "Just give it here," Robert barked. I was stunned. I couldn't believe how hostile he was behaving unprovoked. "You know," I said, "This process would have gone more smoothly and quickly if you were more mannerly." Robert scoffs back, "Mannerly? You mean polite." I let him know that they are synonyms of each other. "I dont think so," Robert states matter-of-factly. As I stood there in disbelief at how I was being treated I realized this must be an example of the "MassHole" I'd be forewarned about. This is a term I'd only recently been introfuced to by New England natives but I had never experienced one before hand. Robert was my exemplifed the term for me. You'll know one when you see one. I tell Robert that Im a Stanford graduate student and that I'm pretty competent with words (although anyone with a 6th grade education should probably recognize that mannerly and polite share the same diffinition). "Whoahoho, Standford graduate school," Robert mocks me with a scrutched up face and higher pitched voice. By this time someone with a friendlier disposition came over to spread the pleasantness expected of a customer service representative on Christmas Eve. He also let Robert know that he was on the wrong screen and that's why my card wasn't taking. So Robert is both rude and incompetent at his Home Dept job. On top of all of this, Robert refused to give me my military discount. When I returned to my car it was 5:01pm. I gave the manager on duty a call to inform him of his grinch of an employee. There are plenty of people who work on Christmas Eve. Some, due to their "service before self" values do not get to male it home for the holidays. The manager did apologize without excuse and vowed to talk to him. I'll be back to be reimbursed for the discount I earned but didn't receive and will remind the manager of how I was treated just in case he didnt get a chance to correct the situation. It was really unncessissary, over-the-top hateful interaction. I'll probably be traveling to tax-free new hampshire from now on when I need wood stain. My wife and son were checking out of the store Sunday afternoon (12-9-18). The credit card was rejected and my wife had to call the fraud department to have it reactivated. Apparently she hadn't used her card there for some time and had to confirm the purchase was hers. During this time a female store employee wearing an orange apron and having dark hair walked by and said, "PAY YOUR BILLS AND MAYBE YOUR CARD WONT GET REJECTED". My wife and son were very upset that an employee would imply this and be so disrespectful (there was not balance on the card). How mortifying to be insulted in such a way. My husband and I just went to this Home Depot to look at a new BBQ. They were having a sale and the one we wanted was outside. From the first customer service person to the last, they were friendly and knowledgeable. One gentleman gave us incorrect delivery information because they can't deliver an item on clearance and he told us we'd get free delivery, but the assistant manager @Matt jumped right in. They gave us an additional discount for the trouble and had two guys ready to help load. Over the years I've been to a lot of Home Depot stores. I ordered ordered 4.2K of fence and materials to be delivered to my home on line. Two deliveries were scheduled and confirmed by e-mail. One for the cement and gravel, and one for the actual fencing. The first delivery never arrived although I took a day off and waited all day for it. I spoke to management who apologized and personally promised all would be delivered on the 2nd delivery date scheduled. The next day, I get a call to schedule the shipment that was already scheduled and was told that the truck they were delivering in did not have a gate that would hold the weight of the material and I would need a "crew" to unload the truck because the driver would not. Why would they allow you to order the materials on line and schedule delivery to a residence if they can not deliver to residence? Why wouldn't they use a truck that would have the proper gate to make the delivery? To be fair, it was the manufacturer who was delivering vs. home depot, although I did order and pay home depot. SO annoying. On top of it, they (the manufacturer) said I would not be credited once cancelled until they received the material back and I would need to speak to Home Depot regarding the refund, which would be delayed until it was confirmed between them. So much time, effort and aggravation. Tewksbury HD management was polite and helpful, but CORPORATE HOME DEPOT, get your act together. This is NOT great customer service or respectful to my time, energy and patronage. Choose the manufacturers who represent YOU well! Ordered a washing machine after mine died. The sales person was polite and knowledgeable, which is the only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of one. After waiting a week with no laundry the company Home Depot hires to deliver the washing machine, Raymers Express, comes and tells me they won't lift the washing machine over my dryer. I told the guy I will move it. The delivery guy says he can't wait but he will come back after two stops. As he is leaving, the delivery guy says he will drop the washing machine in the driveway then come back if I sign the papers. I told him no, because I want to make sure that he will bring it into the basement and haul away the old washing machine. He then confirms that he is coming back. 5 minutes after he leaves I get a call from the company asking me what day I want to reschedule the delivery for. I tried explaining that he said he is coming back, and they tell me no. I even said they can drop it in the driveway if he brings it back. They call the driver and he refuses to come back. I take it up with the manager, and they say they can't make him come back if he doesn't want to. I cancelled the order. No sympathy from Home Depot. No one from Raymers or Home Depot even attempted to make things right. I will never order a delivery from Home Depot again while they use Raymers Express for their deliveries. Bought the same washing machine from Lowes which they had in stock and available to pick up today. read more

This won't be a very long review, since there isn't much to say . Prices are always comparable to the other home improvement stores. Nothing else to share in that respect. So I feel I'm being pretty generous with my two stars here. I moved up to this area two years ago from Boston. Any Home Depot I visited around the city was generally pretty helpful. Employees always roaming the aisles asking "Do you need help?" Almost asking too much. Not the case of this HD. When I first came up here the employees never asked if we were in need of assistance, when we actually were having a hard time finding something, and a harder time finding an employee to help. In the years to come the customer service seems to have improved some, not a great amount. The only employees I've consistently run into here that are always pleasant are the cashiers......But, that might be because they are taking all my money. read more

I'm not exactly sure what factor it is that I would make the same drive to Lowe's versus HD but it could be the atmosphere. I like this hardware store over the others around me. The only thing is this store along with most stores these days lack in customer service. I have a few stories but the one that sticks out is where we were ordering / buying 9 windows all of the same size. When we tried to get assistance from the customer service desk my phone and searching the Home Depot web site was more helpful. Overall the service here is average that one bad experience doesn't warrant a 2 or 1 but nothing really puts this place in the better than average category. Bought an over the range microwave at Home Depot and the salesman assured me that we could easily install it ourselves at home and if we couldn't we could call and have them install it. We couldn't install it. Called back to get an installation for the microwave and they told us that we had to buy the installation at the time we purchased the microwave and told my wife that "you should have bought the installation package at the time of purchase" and then tried to connect us to a third party "handy man" that was far more expensive than the original installation package...which was not what the salesperson explained to us. Home Depot does NOT care about their customers at all. This is the second time in two years where I've been fooled by them...once with their kitchen sales people and now with appliances. Not good service online. Suppose to get an order today, NOTHING. Didn't happen. We ordered a vinyl fence more than a week ago and got nothing. The manger of the store tells us there is no vinyl fence in the whole Massachusetts. I just called Salem NH and they have tons of fence. No one is on the same page. We paid the money. We need our product NOW. Now our contractor cannot put the fence up. Real convenient. Absolutely terrible service! read more

I went here recent to pick up some building materials. The help here sucks, no other way to describe it. I asked a guy for help and he said and I quote "I don't work in this area" and then just left me hanging. He didn't even try to get someone who did work in the department to help me. The store is huge and if you do not go in there a lot it is very overwhelming to try and find a couple of items. I was pissed off and people that work there almost walk by you with their head down so they don't have to answer any questions or deal with any customers. He glanced at it and said it would fit. It didn't. Also asked for a pressure coupling to fix a ice maker line and he told me he had nothing, I brought that line in also. Finally finished a large plumbing project. The materials came from the Tewksbury, Ma Home Depot. I ended up purchasing extra materials, because often times the items reported in inventory was not really available. From this past experience of spending an hour or more looking for a $10 plumbing part only to walk out of the store empty handed with nothing. As a result, I learned to always buy extra and return the rest. Home Depot used to have a policy to provide store credit if the receipt got lost. Well, I went to return the extra items purchased on a credit card which had just been replaced due to fraud (probably from one of Home Depot's several security breaches) and they said they that criminals had been doing returns like this. I will not go to this Home Depot ever again for 3 reasons; (1) Items reported in stock are often NOT, (2) prices have been going up relative to competitors, and (3) rude returns staff and rarely is there anyone in the aisles who know anything about the products they are selling. UPDATE...I brought back my a/c unit today (didn't like the portable version) and the young woman at the returns register practically BARKED at me and acted like I was bothering her just being there. I won't be going back. Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought the staff was rude and/or indifferent here. I got what I wanted here today, but I won't be back. Visiting this store, I might as well have been Jabba the Hutt because I was ignored by literally every male employee. I came here to buy a portable air conditioning unit I had seen online. I spotted the dehumidifiers in one of the first aisles, but then had to ask someone where the portable A/C units were. Good thing I did, because they were all the way down by the "service pro" counter. Because, that would have made zero sense to put them with the dehumidifiers, right? Also the guy I asked told me that window units were completely sold out (not that I needed one.) Um, when I got to where the A/Cs were they were LOADED with window units, so I don't know what he was talking about. I spotted the portable model that I wanted, but it was heavier than I anticipated, and after looking around for a minute (I expected someone passing by to at least ask me if I needed help...I'm pretty sure a couple of employees saw me try to lift the box) I asked a male employee if there's someone that can help me put it in the carriage and load it into my car. He points at an older man pushing a carriage behind him and says he can help; that guy acted like I was inconveniencing him or something. He told me the service desk could have someone paged to put it in my car. I didn't bother; I went to another register where the kid running the register couldn't even be bothered to say hello when I arrived or thank me when I left. Good thing I work out and lift weights; I was able to get the heavy box into the rear seat of my car. Is it really so hard to greet a female customer with a smile and ask if they need assistance??? As an aside, and this is just a general statement about Home Depot, I hate how the store is basically a warehouse with products stocked up to the ceiling. I get that it's for construction and home renovation products and all, but it feels dirty and disorganized. read more
