My surprise was by her consideration and willingness to help me find what I was looking for and then her understanding I wanted to select the item in a box that didn't look damaged by picking up on my nonverbal language. My faith is restored in Home Depot. After picking up a partial order, I was assured I would get alerted when the remainder arrived. I then got a notification thanking me a week later for picking up the complete order. I went online and spoke to a representative who stated the system shows a few items were picked up by a Joseph and 3 items were on the loading dock. He called the store and the store manager said they would look at cameras and then they could reorder the items for me in store. I was worried it would be a hassle in store and at first it seemed like it was but thankfully, I has the transcript from the online perso. And he made notes in the system on this order. Then, the lady says it says these items were pulled for you, let me look. She found 3 of the 4. And was stating that 2 items were in one box...which we all no that isn't going to be the case but I had her open the boxes up and look anyway.... They were all showing signed by Joseph. She seemed stumped and kept asking me who Joseph was... Lol I am proud, I did not make a rude comment once. I just said I have no idea and that I picked up the partial order in person and I remained calm. Just a side note, some lady was going off about her wait on the phone and having to drive into the store amd waiting in the line there.. So, I felt good not being ugly to these ladies bc they were trying to figure it out for me. So after several attempts. She asks another lady before she credited the items. She started down the same path and I thought oh lord here we go but I just let her retrace all the actions again She said. Let me go look in the back. I thought, she is never coming back. Next thing we know, she is walking up with a big box, she said not sure if this is it, I said well I see my name on it soooo hopefully it is. She opened it and pulled it out. I said, you have made my day. I so didn't want to reorder and wait. I asked what can I do differently next time, she said it was on them. When I picked up the partial order, the lady released all items showing picked up not the ones we got. So the items would have just sat in the back. I don't care. But I am just glad some guy named Jodeph isn't selling my stuff on the marketplace....lol read more

We came here to look for cabinets and keep in mind the folks working that area have banker hours so we had to come back. Hubby returned on his own and was able to speak with Ali I believe was her name. Even though they advertise in the store that they do cabinet installation, come to find out our project was too small for them so they would not work with us to install the cabinets. She recommended we get a handyman to do it. Also, Ali would not let us purchase any countertops which we were excited for, again b/c our project was too small for them and they have a minimum. I don't understand why they wouldn't just sell us the material. We decided we would just buy the cabinets and install ourselves. We returned on this visit for a 3rd time during the banker hours so we could have Ali help us find a set of cabinets. Well, she was no where to be found. The nice gal working nearby called Ali for us over the intercom where she was supposed to call back. We got the runaround that perhaps she was on her break. Understandable, we waited 15 minutes in the kitchen area. I asked the gal again if she could call Ali once more. The gal was really nice and called again through the intercom so it was heard in the whole store, now for the 2nd time. It's now been half hour and we were still waiting. Hubby said we should leave but I was like nah, not before I say something b/c this is messed up and so unprofessional. I spoke w/the manager, and told him what happened and how we'd been waiting over 30 minutes for someone to help us w/the cabinets. He defended Ali and gave her the benefit of the doubt and said, "well she was busy helping a customer do a return". Sorry but what does that have to do with her hearing? and picking up a phone? I told him, "I understand if she was busy, but that's why you pick up the phone and call back and say "hey, i'm busy rn, I'll be there in 10 minutes". i told him, she couldn't pick up the phone and say that? Still defending her he goes "well maybe she didn't hear the call." I said, "twice??" Why didn't he pick it up and say, Hey she's busy. communication is key and that manager was awful. She came over and wasn't much help at all. All she did was pull up the Home Depot website and scroll through cabinets. That's something we could've done on our own. I thought she was going to show us stuff that was only visible to internal folks like her who specialize in this area. I have to admit I was less than impressed with my most recent visit to this location. The store was PACKED. The only social distancing going on was in the self checkout line that was 15+ people deep where they had x's marked on the ground. To top it off, the entire purpose of coming here was for a specific item which we couldn't find on the shelves. An associate looked it up and determined there were 5 in stock, they were locked up. But then no one could find them in their locked cage/shelving unit. Which wasn't very large by the way. I use another HD location often for procuring items at work... and I find that their inventory counts are often off. I'll place an order and it says it's in stock... and then they'll cancel it because they can't find it. It seems they have similar inventory count issues at this location as well. read more

After reserving a truck for over two weeks, they text me the night before my big move with a text that starts "oh, we had to cancel your reservation. "No explanation, just some stupid comment like Uh Oh. When I called, they said that I canceled it several days ago and already rented to somebody else. So in other words, they wanted to rent to somebody else, and just decided to do it by canceling my reservation from the system and saying there's no way to figure out who canceled it. Yet somehow there's a way to figure out that they reserved that truck to another person who is about to pick it up. Will never do business with this organization again. Cost me hundreds of dollars in labor. read more

I went to return a Shower head, and valves because it wasn't compatible with the bathtub we purchased. Elizabeth handled my return and saw that there was sealant on the threads, and i explained that we didnt use it because the tub required different valves. She walks over to her manager and asks for approval. As im standing there I can hear her trying to convince her manager "are you sure you want to return it? It looks used". After getting the approval, she looks annoyed and processes the return. As I thank her for the return, she doesn't say anything and hurls the valves into a return bin. She was rude for no reason. She acted like the return was being taken out of her paycheck. This isnt the first time we've encountered rude employees at this location. Maybe in the new hire trainings, you guys can implement "good customer service" trainings. Sucks that this is the only Home Depot in tracy. read more

Recently purchased water heater from HD, but I didn't check the item until I got home. The control module was broken upon partial opened box. I should have checked, but I had no choice but to take this via curbside pick-up due to virus situation. Very annoyed to go right back and order another one online. Thankful for staff Alex, who helped me expedite the pickup because the order wasn't ready yet. It saved me alot of time as my worker was already at my home working and waiting for the water heater. Grabbed a firn that I always wanted as an impulse purchase. A lot of Home Depots just got shipments of these and they are usually difficult to find. Donno why this is only getting an average rating - this Home Depot is significantly better than most of the other's I've been to in the Bay Area. This one also is much bigger than many of the HD's - I don't think I've come here and not found the item(s) I was looking for. Downside is that this place gets busy - Saturday's here are crazy and parking lot can get full. Overall this is a busy spot with all the new house construction and remodeling going on during the pandemic. We had a terrible experience tonight while trying to buy a few things for our yard. The aisles in the garden section were all blocked off with pallets. The pool aisle was completely blocked with what looked like trash and the people in the store were only concerned with stocking the shelves. I've worked retail before and considering the time which was 8:15pm and they close at 9:00 the employees were trying to rush the closing process so they all can leave early. Lastly, the garden center ground was hosed down and I slipped and almost fell. I'm okay with the ground being wet since we were in the "garden" section and surrounded by plants but I didn't see one "caution" cone. We ended up leaving the cart at the store with some of our items and decided to just leave. I hope it gets better in the future. read more

Home Depot Tracy has received my blinds on October 7th. (I ordered blinds on April 3rd.) They are sitting over it for almost 2 months now. No communication, no effort to get it installed from their end. I have been calling the store 8th time to follow-up and get the blinds installed. I have already PAID for the installation. Every time I call the guy who can help schedule the installation is unavailable - sometimes he is out for lunch, not at desk or left for the day. This is such a frustrating customer experience. The customer care agent says I will add a not. Nobody even cares or acts on these notes. Please HELP asap. You guys take the money upfront and then let the customer chase you and get frustrated.
