We went to Michael's today to get a piece of glass we broke replaced. The gentleman that helped us which I believe his name was Timothy went above and beyond for us. He greeted us when we walked in and as we walked to the back of the store he came back and asked if we needed help. Rude people who do not want to be interrupted from stocking and sorting work at this location. This location was clearly short staffed, and on the day of our visit I was told the restrooms were closed and not open to the public. So don't bother to ask because you might not like how you might be treated for having the audacity to interrupt someone with such a mundane question. You might feel like someone turned the hands of time back and you were living in pre 1965 America, when certain groups of people felt entitled to (and got away with) talking down to "other" groups of people. I found the store to be a bit disorganized and some of the aisles were too cluttered to walk through. The prices are what I expected, but the terrible customer service and lack of restroom access cut our visit and our spending short. Although I made contact with their corporate office concerning my unfortunate interpersonal experience with a specific staff member at this location, and the corporate office responded with understanding, kindness, an explanation of how they were gong to correct things, and a gift card, I will never set foot in this particular location again, ever. Came here to print one picture for Valentine's Day and I get overstimulated very easily and was about to have a meltdown trying to do a very simple task along comes AUDRIA. Not aware of my near meltdown she just jumped in and save the day. Did her job effectively caringly and walked me through the process took the reins and got my picture printed and helped me download it speedy quick the service that's offered at Michael's is beautiful and the fact that they have someone in the framing department who actually knows what she's doing and has an eye for this stuff is beautiful very pleased. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and organized this Michaels location was! Their spring and Easter displays were well done and well stocked, and it was easy to find everything we were looking for! I wandered in on a Saturday afternoon expecting the place to be busy- but it was surprisingly quiet. Service was good- employees checked in or said hello a few times and there was little to No wait at checkout. This trip was a good reminder to support your brick and mortar stores. I'd hate to see this place (and such a lovely group of people) go away! I'll be making a point to try and drop in more regularly. read more

Just left Michael's of Tracy after waiting 15 minutes at the framing counter for assistance. At 5 mins in I walked to front of store to ask if someone could help me and the other 2 customers at the framing desk. Polite young lady said sure let me get someone for you. After another 10 mins I actually called the store to ask again (didn't want to lose my spot) only to be told the solo framer was on lunch and the young lady had no idea when that person would be back. Disappointing at best... understandable that that person gets lunch... but maybe a heads up 10 mins ago when I first inquired...? Asking too much I guess. I was shopping in Michaels today and had the best experience! I was greeted when I entered the store by a young lady, who I later found her name to be Audria. I later had the pleasure of having my purchase rung up by the same individual. Audria was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the merchandise in the store and made me feel like a valued customer. The store was clean, well stocked and very festive for the coming holiday season. My shopping was made easy and enjoyable with the help of associate Audria. She stopped what she was doing to take me to the aisle it was on. She was so sweet and nice. I asked her questions and she was really helpful and patient. This location has plenty of parking spots available if you drive. It is located right next to HomeGoods and Dollar Tree, all of which does not have much traffic during daytime. Cleanliness 3/5. Upon entering the store, you will find rows and rows of crafts and arts items. The male employee I asked regarding where some specific items was located, he knew his store and direct me to all the correct aisle numbers. Customer service was 4/5. Price-wise, it is slightly above moderate for non-sale items. There is a WalMart two stores down if you are on a budget. read more

I'm a long time customer of Michael's. I always go to the Tracy Ca location. I called to put a few wreaths on hold and when I went in to get them there was a girl at the register named Jill. She did not even say "welcome in" or "hello" when I walked up to her, I told her the manager had a few wreaths on hold at the register for me. I told her I'm going to grab a few more things before checking out and she just looked at me. When I went to grab the few things, she said "well can't you take your wreaths??? I need my counter space!" How rude is she?!?! Very bad customer service!! When I went to check out I asked her if I can put in my rewards number and she said "well you'll have to wait!" Just like that! In the most rude, and sarcastic way. From the minute I walked in she was rude and lacked customer service skills. I'm surprised they have her working. I was here today for specific items (which they didn't have) and I settled on something else. I can't believe how much their prices went up. Outrageous. I'm writing this review from the parking lot, I'm so annoyed! I went in today to grab a pack of Chameleon markers. They were of course locked up, so I looked for someone to help. No one was on the floor, except some guys unpacking boxes. They both saw me there holding a baby and ignored me. One even shut the door! So I went to the cashier, she was really nice and got on the radio for someone to meet me......no one showed up. Someone pushing a cart asked if i needed help. I'm. Just. Trying. To. Buy. Markers! He says ok, he will get the key. I wait another 10mins and he never comes back. I go up front and he's talking to cashier, ignores the fact that he said he would help, and announces he was going on break. I would rather travel to Livermore or Modesto at this point, the customer service at this location is really terrible. They lost a $30 sale because they wanted to be lazy and chit chat with their friends. Are you kidding? I'm the first person to review this stellar being of a craft store? This place is ginormous, and has the best selection of Jolee's scrapbooking embellishments I've ever seen!! Considering that a lot of stores I've been to in Tracy are usually the "mini" version of regular stores, this Michael's was a huge treat for me. I love it here. And, Michael's own Richard's, so both of them will take coupons from either store. read more

It seems that Michaels has been declining in recent years. I would think with the rise of DIYers and Pinterest Queens this place would flourish. Every time I go they never have what I want, and I am not talking about it being sold out. They don't carrry macramé cord! There were a few items from the past but I don't recall what they were. The prices are high and the service could be loads better. I literally had to chase down a sales associate to ask her a question. I explained to her I had went to the sections that I would think the item was looking for would be and she said I had looked in the wrong areas. She then proceeded to take me to very same sections! On the plus side they do carry essential oils which I plan to use in a upcoming project. I only come to Michaels because I won't go to the Hobby Lobby (personal reasons), they have a good selection of paint brushes and if they have something that Jo-Ann's doesn't. read more

I'm a fan of Michaels because they typically have what I'm looking for. The downfall is the price, way too expensive. BUT keep your eyes open for their coupons in the paper and on your receipts. This Michael's is kept clean and the staff is very helpful. The only negative to this store is that they are always out of stock with Cricut supplies. While this store doesn't have everything that we need, they have great sales. We have used their Framing Services 4 times over the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. If they didn't offer their discounted pricing on framing we would never come in because the prices are outrageous. It's a pretty well-stocked craft store. I am there once to maybe three times a week for my business supplies. The tulle supply is pretty good. Sometimes I wish they had more selection on display. However, a couple of times I had asked an employee for some assistance and was left hanging without help for almost ten minutes. Eventually I found someone else. This is for the framing dept: We have now used the framing pros here twice. Recently we trusted them to re-frame a portrait that was very special to us. The staff here really knows what they are doing. They take their time with you and go through all the little details with you. We felt like they take their job seriously and professionally. The finished product was simply stunning. The size, colors, boarders were done so nicely. We now know we will never need to re-frame this one again! We cannot say enough good things about the quality of work done here. You can trust these folks to get the job done right, and on time. Overall, very impressed. I love crafting although crafting have a love and hate relationship with me. I'm a decent crafter, a spur of the moment kinda deal and this is my go to place to spend my money on crafts/projects I will slaved on for weeks then unconsciously set aside and forget that I even started on it. Right now I'm into planner making (it's a new addictive trend, don't ask me why) and they have great selections of stickers and tapes and pretty pens that I can hoard while I am going with the flow with this new addiction. Although there are times when most shelves are empty and low on stock that there's not much choices to choose from, but I guess It worked with my budget. So yeah crafters delight in this place if they have what you're looking for available or else you're forced to drive to another town which is a hassle for me. Recently went into Michael s to redeem a 25,00 gift card that my wife and I gave to my daughter for a Birthday present while my daughter was doing her shopping a few things came to my mind that I also needed so I started looking around for the item this was when I decided to ask someone that worked there if they carried the item and was shocked the woman that I asked BOLDLY said that THIS IS A CRAFT STORE and we don't carry such an item I was searching for construction paper with adhesive on one side. I had one other question for an item that I couldn't find and wouldn't you know it I asked the same sales rep with the attitude that I had asked before. When asking for the item the sales rep Rolled her eyes and abruptly said we don't carry that item and case closed. I'm sorry I'm fifty something years old and work very hard for my money to be snubbed not once but twice by the same sales Representative " this sales Representative reminded me of trying to talk with a Representative with AT&T LOL" Upon paying for our items my daughter used her 25.00 gift card the total cost came to 22.35 cents at this time I asked if she could get the change back in cash and the sales Representative stated that we at Michael s don't do such a thing Besides there's not a button on the cash register for cashing out a gift card for the 2.70 cents. I'm not AL Bundy however I find it rather a pain to keep a Gift card in a wallet worth only 2.70 this is not too mention what can you buy in the store for that amount. Yes the store is clean, but I am always disappointed by the customer service. I never find the help I am looking for regarding items listed in their sales ad, and I am over the response of "this is a small store so we do not get all the items". I have sent my husband (because I was sick) with an empty box of a replacement item I was looking for and the sales manager would not point him in the right direction she informed him they did not carry the item. I went back the same day (sick in pjs) and found item. There appears to be only one employee that is even interested in crafts..... Beware of how they post items on sale. I grabbed items that were below a sale sign, but when I check the reciept it was double what the sale sign had posted. I went back in to get a refund and then it took me an extra 5 minutes to find out that the sign was posted in the wrong place and/or the only item that was on sale was on a different shelf than where the sign was posted. This was a bit disheartening for me and seriously frustrating for the people who were waiting in the car for me. The store itself was a good size. Been here a number of times, I always enjoy the drawing section, it is far superior to the one at Joann's here in Manteca. I really enjoy the framing there as well since they have insane coupons all the time. They're very helpful and well versed in framing. My wife buys all of her scrapbooking and craft supplies here. This review is for the framing department. This place did a great job! I came in with a large picture of myself and my fiancee to get matted and framed, for display at our wedding reception. Michaels framing had a great sale going on (60% off +) and Katie was so helpful. She was very patient with me, showing me all different frames and matting options, since I didn't know exactly which ones I wanted at first. Also, I needed it completed ASAP. Although their turn around time is maximum 2 weeks, I told Katie I needed it back by a week or less, since our event was coming up that next weekend. Came In for a "big" sale I was told about (I rarely go to michaels because I can find the exact same thing for a cheaper price somewhere else) but decided to go to see what I could find. I walk in and I start lookin around I must've looked suspicious because I got followed by some older white women with dark hair around the ENTIRE store it seemed that whatever aisle I'd be in she'd suddenly need to go there too at first I didn't think anything of it because again I'm just looking around and after going around almost the entire store ( I hadn't been in a while I wanted to see what was new) I had bumped into her again and she looked at me and said if I was doing okay (she had seen my face of getting irritated) I told her I was and asked her a question about something but I work in retail and I know how they deal with someone when they think they're stealing...she was doing the same thing to me excuse me for genuinely being curious about what was new there were plenty of other people to follow but I guess I looked the most "suspicious" never coming back I shouldn't have to feel discriminated against when I go into a store for not being white I'm upset I didn't get her name but if you go you'll know who it is read more
