The culture, energy, and mannerism they provided even though it was the last three minutes before they closed, they did not rush the process nor did they have any worry of the time. You don't find nice, genuine people in retail right before closing hours ever & I am very grateful that I was able to get helped by them. This store epitomizes poor customer service. Their customer service staff is poorly trained and cannot handle simple items such as online order pickups or price adjustments. Even basic safety principles aren't followed as during the COVID-19 pandemic, employees and management completely ignored the social distancing guidelines and scoffed at customers when reminded. This is the worst Home Depot that I have ever visited and considering this experience, and the employee comments about management only caring about profits and not employees, I will no longer be patronizing Home Depot as a whole. read more

Whomever is in charge of/responsible for the garden department should be ashamed of the deplorable condition of the outdoor plants. I was appalled at the number of wilted and dead ones. It was glaringly evident none of these had been watered in who knows how long. I fully understand that we are in a severe drought but that is no excuse. Why would anyone want to buy plants here? I would like to be able to go to HOME DEPOT in Tracy and not have to go to Manteca or Livermore or MODESTO to get a simple door knob... this is just one example...... and actually I was lucky enough to get it at ORCHARD SUPPLY in town. Typically a trip to HOME DEPOT in Tracy is usually a slight disappointment when one or several items needed for the HOME is not available in the TRACY STORE!.... off to the next town which is typically able to supply our need... why does TRACYS HOME DEPOT have such limited supplies compared to our surrounding towns? The only thing that is consistent is long lines, substandard products and a staff that is never present when you need help. Their products bounce from shelf to shelf, aisle to aisle and you can never replacement parts for the stuff you buy and breaks. Love how they have every 1st Saturday of the month a free activity for the kids and they get to bring home their project. Make sure to register each participants so the project is reserved for them. Home Depot just started this registration because they have a limited supply to give out. read more

I ordered something online to pick up at the Tracy store and when I asked if it was ready for pick up the following day they said we don't have any more and to try another store. I ended up traveling to another store to buy it. Kayla called me and said she was very sorry I wasn't offered a delivery to store or my home for that matter and gave me a store credit for $30 for my troubles. Visited this Home Depot to see if they had any good 1 Gallon Succulents since they were on sale and today was the last day. Turns out they had a pretty good selection, more and better ones than the Home Depot's that are closer to where I live. We found some that we liked and purchased some. Had asked the cashier if we could get the 5% off for using our Home Depot Credit Card, but they wouldn't give it to us because we didn't have a Lowe's Card with us. We had told the cashier that other Home Depots don't require us to show the Lowe's Card and they still give us the 5% off. She replied with "This particular store has always been asking to see your Lowe's Card." We then replied with "Oh, is that a new policy Home Depot is requiring now?" The Cashier replied with," I'm not sure, maybe those Home Depots are right next to a Lowe's or nearby." This is the second Home Depot that wouldn't give us the 5% off without showing them a Lowe's Card. The first was at the Great Mall Home Depot in Milpitas. The really funny part is, is that on the way home, we stopped at the Livermore Home Depot found some more great Succulents and at check out, we asked if we could receive 5% off for using our Home Depot Credit Card, guess what, they actually gave us 5% off for using our Home Depot Credit Card without showing a Lowe's Card..... The Cashier though was really friendly. It was 2 white females running the checkstands at the Garden Center. Both really friendly and greeted customers upon entry. So my review is based on not getting the 5% off when other Home Depots gives us the 5% off without the Lowe's card. read more

This store needs a new manager. I say that because experience I had says he/she is not doing their job. Came in looking for lazy-suzan hardware so I asked walked over to two young woman who were standing around doing nothing and told them what I was after. Without any thought they said that it was something that they did not carry. Of course they do, I just did not know where to find it in this mess of a store. I made a joke that maybe I should go to Lowes and they both said, go ahead, no big deal to us. I found the lazy susan hardware of all places by pocket door hardware. Not by cabinet hardware, hinges or something logical like that. This depot is poorly run, has smart A** stupid woman who don't know the store and could care less about the customer or their employer. If you can shop ANYWHERE ELSE, do yourself a favor and do it, even if it means driving a couple miles or spending a couple extra bucks. This is the worst managed store in the history of stores. I had a hard time parking the other day 'cause the lot was full of carts. They effectively got rid of cashiers finding an orange apron to provide a little hands-on is difficult at best. When you do spot one, you'll usually see a bunch, as they huddle in little conversations while they ignore customers. Before you try to prove me wrong, go hang out in the plumbing or garden section on a weekday. read more

A requirement for efficient, frustration-free shopping at The Home Depot is the use of the iPhone companion app. The app allows one to search for products and their locations quickly, without tracking down staff for assistance. Returns at this location are always quick, with refunds provided in cash, chargeback, or store credit. I've returned items after many months, even with partially legible receipts. One frustration I have is that recently some inventory has been moved online. Items which I once could find in store are now no longer available. Further, the companion app will return online stock in searches, making it more difficult than it needs to be to find products in store. Local competitors, although they are smaller, sometimes have greater selections on certain products. For example, I found a much wider array of plumbing supplies at a smaller local competitor, as well as some brands of water-proof spray paint that were not carried the The Home Depot. Shop around. One positive anecdote I can provide for this location is, that my daughter was slightly injured when a fluorescent bulb fell over and burst across her sandaled feet. (A previous customer had abandoned a burnt-out 48" fluorescent bulb against the wall when they discovered they were not accepted for recycling and my daughter inadvertently dislodged it from its hiding place.) Management conveyed deep concern and escorted us to the bathroom, where I washed her feet. The cuts were very minor (thankfully) and my daughter to this day remembers the bag of candy the manager provided to make her feel better. It was an unfortunate incident completely remedied by great management. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I made the mistake of asking a person wearing a home depot shirt and name tag for some help. she was quick to tell me its not her job, that only those dressed in aprons can help you. good luck finding one of those people to help you. It took us almost 10 minutes to have an apron wearing employee help us and they weren't very helpful. Additionally he didn't exactly have the best personal hygiene. We ended up going to Harbor Freight Tools and they were a lot nicer and actually helpful. read more

I have been trying to buy window blinds since last week, but can't third outside vendor to call back and set up an appointment. Went back to Home Depot and they could care less. No help at all. Just gave me two phone numbers to call, so I could go away. One of the lady employees there was complaining about something and I heard her use the word "S@%T" at least 3 times about another customer. This Home Depot is pretty friggin large, and is very well stocked with everything you can possibly think of. Prices are what they are. You should know that home maintenance and/or repair is never a cheap endeavor, but Home Depot will beat a competitor's price by 10% if you bring it in. My only drawback to this store is apparent lack of staff. No joke, you can walk around for a while before you find someone, so it would help to know what you're looking for ahead of time. The staff itself is very polite and helpful WHEN you can find one. I'm sure I'll be back again soon. read more

So normally I like to hit the local small stores just because I'm like that. But hey, sometimes you need to go to the big box stores. Now, when I lived in Livermore and from past experience...I'd learned that if you wanted to get service and price, Home Depot was NOT the place to go. However, the Tracy Home Depot is the exception to the rule! Every time I've gone in (and I just bought a 1927 house, so there've been a few times!), I've had great help and found what I needed. One of the times...the clerk was nice enough to inform me of Home Depot's policy of accepting other store's coupons...whoa baby! Another time, I needed to get pricing on some window blinds to prove that my former landlord was upgrading on my dime...and Gilda was a saint and even worked me up a price quote! When my garbage disposal crapped out and I decided that I'm not to be trusted with disposal's and just wanted to put in pipes (old fashioned...I know!), a very nice gentleman showed (not pointed) out where everything was and even schooled me a bit on what I'd need and why. When I put shelves in my pantry...and found that it's an odd size so I had to get plywood cut...they had no issues with measuring, cutting and loading. Nevermind the great help I got with getting fence boards...not only getting them on the cart but also into the truck! Tracy Home Depot...you've got a fan in me! read more

Asked a total of 3 associates and they just told me to try a different department and turned around to continue wherever they were going, one of them in a rude way. Home Depot in Tracy is HORRIBLE. We have been trying to get a security screen door installed since April 27, 2018. Home Depot had their Contractor come out measured door, proceeded to say within 5-7 days your door would be in & schedule your appointment. I bought the door. Scheduled appointment: 4/27/18 and I took day off of work and they never showed up or gave me a courtesy call to tell me they were not coming. Excuse #1) Home Depot fired Contractor. Sent new Contractor out to re-measure door 5/4/18. Second scheduled date 5/21/18 almost a month later, took another vacation day off work & no show again. Excuse #2) Contractor's truck broke down. Scheduled appointment: 6/19/18 took day off work and no show and no call from Home Depot. Went to HD and lit up Marcus, Logan & Cristina! Done! Took all back got refund. Going back to get refund on 2 our doors purchased for 2 other properties we own today. Done! I have contacted the CEO, the COO of Home Depot to report the incompetence and Lack of this Stores Management, Lack of Customer Service and Lack of Training & Knowledge. Special Thanks to our son-in-law, Who was able to purchase a security door at LOWE's with one trip, with all the right parts & install the a Security Door himself! read more

Great service. Helpful and respectful employees. When they don't have the answer or don't work in that section the find someone and the person actually comes over to help. Jessica was so helpful I just wanted to give her a shout out here. She was getting multiple requests for her help all over the place but she was respectful and unhurried while she helped us re-key our locks so they could be universal throughout the house. I appreciate her enthusiasm and her willingness to help us get what we needed. this is where i am shopping anytime i need any home repair items. This is the only Home Depot I've been to where the entrance and exit feel like they are a mile apart. There was a greeter at the door and he offered an ad, which was nice. We saw some patio furniture that we liked, but there was no price. No one else was around, so we asked the greeter how much the furniture was. He just said, "I don't know" and continued to stand there even though no one else was around. He didn't even offer to find out or call someone else to help. With that service, we just said forget it. Definitely not so nice. Home Depot always has horrible service. I'd rather go to Lowes.... read more

Occasionally I get rude or non-existent Customer service but it doesn't really stop me from coming back. Like playing Blackjack. Sometimes I win, sometimes not. No sense in crying about it. This post is regarding a very rude supervisor, I took my son to look for some items for school science project he is doing. We were looking for small light bulbs and from there this nice gentleman helped out in finding what we needed. We ended up getting some wire and he was waiting for us to finish so we can go to the next aisle. Them his supervisor came up to him and asked what he was doing and he explained that he was helping us. She looked at him at told him to go back to the light bulb aisle and finish. Before I could say anything he was gone, I found him and went up to him and thanked him for helping us. This supervisor was so rude and I really wished that I had said something, there is no reason to treat somebody that way. read more

Went to store 8 am for some paper towels, 2 employees standing in the front door talking blocking people getting in easily. 2 hardware employees talking together about what there making for dinner. Get to the self checkout, cashier tells me to go to a register with a person still checking out. 6 employees standing around the registers talking. So much for social distancing. I love homedepot! I've done all the windows in my house, my garage door, and kitchen counters with them. Why the 1 star review? Today's in store experience is why. I am a veteran, and homedepot offers a 10% discount to veterans. I've been coming in for years taking advantage of this generous discount. Today however a lady at the check out gave me a hard time about it. I have a real id, with veteran on it. Good enough for TSA, not enough for homedepot. Apparently I dont qualify for the discount. I have a friend who was shot overseas that would also not qualify. Only 20 year retired or disabled veterans qualify. My 8 years in the Marines isn't enough for homedepot. When I go to Lowe's no problem. You just register with them and give your phone number no Id needed after that. Really disappointing I need to redo my flooring soon for my whole house. Guess I'm going else where if my service isn't good enough for homedepot neither is my money. read more

I was dumb and didn't look at the measurements when I ordered it, and it did not fit in my car at all. When I asked if he was able to cut it (which I felt awful doing) he didn't act annoyed at all. Just like any large warehouse type of place, you pretty much need to know what you are after in order to shop here,.. Like the reviews below, hard to find help..... Also, bought a large BBQ grill here, it literally took 30 minutes for them to get it down!!! They also don't tell you until after, that if you want the free setup of the grill, it is only done on Mondays, so best do it yourself if you buy after Monday. Still love the selection and of course the propane tank exchange. read more
