We had actually stopped at the Lowe's in Tukwila first, but I was surprised to find their shelves so empty--they were completely out of stock. Coming here was the right move! The store was clean, well-organized, and had exactly what we needed. I also felt that the prices here are generally more affordable compared to Lowe's. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, with staff members greeting us as we walked around. Even at the self-checkout, the attendant was very kind and helpful. XMAS TREE SHOPPING! Tis the season alright, for Xmas tree shopping at the Home Depot. I come here every year! There is a large variety of trees and sizes to fit any budget. If you come early like me, not only will you get your pick of fresh trees, there's nobody else here! No lines, no crowds, just yards and yards of fresh and affordable trees! I picked out a 6 foot noble fur. It was under $50! Amazing. Paying was easy at the garden Department kiosk. I wanted my tree wrapped in the orange wrapping mesh. The cashier made a call and I did have to wait a few minutes. Soon a team member named Ben showed up. He was friendly and cheerful and wrapped my tree in the wrapping machine. He even carted out to my car for me. I tried to tip him but he would not accept it. Instead he shook my hand and asked me to rate his service on the app. I asked if I could take a picture of him for Yelp and he obliged with a friendly thumbs up. Thank you Ben. I normally don't come to this location however? I didn't have a choice. I walked in and walked by Customer Service, I immediately asked where would I go to make a key ... Chris (Department Supervisor) was more than happy to help me and we walked to the aisle where the key machine was. He made me 6 keys and talk about service with a smile!! He was beyond amazing! He literally went out of his way to help me. He even walked me to the self checkout and helped me check out! That was the BEST SERVICE I ever had at ANY Home Depot!! When it came time to buy a new slide-in range because our 20-year-old appliance had died, Home Depot in Tukwila was great! Kathy in the appliances department was helpful, honest with her opinions about which were better brands/models than others, and very personable. We had pretty much decided on an LG range that Consumer Reports ranked the best among dual fuel slide-ins, and Kathy concurred that it was an excellent applicance. The purchase was completed quickly (on a Saturday) and the range was installed the following Wednesday. The installation crew was also excellent. They arrived on time, were respectful of our house (making sure not to ding the walls, doors or our new range), made sure it was installed correctly and that everything -- all five burners, the broiler, the oven and the convection function -- worked before heading off to their next install. We will soon be replacing our dishwasher and our starting point will (again) be Home Depot at Tukwila and Kathy. Great experience! read more

Hey! Stop running away from a customer! Do I need to stage a slip and fall accident to get help here? I spent nearly two hours trying to get staff to help out and answer questions about a pretty vital purchase. Nope. Every mobile staff member I approached turned and walked away. I understand I have resting grumpy person face. I get that. It's early in the morning too, but that will never excuse Robin, the staff at the pro desk. Telling someone they've had an attitude since they came in, and then refuse to answer any questions posed is inexcusable. I had to walk the length of the store to grab a cart, and you're mumbled "morning" was barely audible. I asked you to "say again please?" You repeated "morning", to which my response was, "that's what I hear." You laughed. Yup.. I've an attitude. Perhaps when I asked you for help you could have offered it? Ashley at the other check stand sure did. You kept yelling and calling her until she had to shut her phone off to actually help me. She was nice. You are 100% the reason Ashley needs a raise. The only thing the people here hate more than their jobs is helping customers. We hung out at the cutting station for 20 minutes, asking an employee to page someone over at least 3 times. Each employee looked annoyed to have been bothered. One lady claimed to page someone over but the intercom announcement was a half assed one word call for "lumber". Seriously. That's verbatim. We finally went to the front and a young man didn't end his conversation with his coworker but rather glibly replied "the cutting machine doesn't work". Thanks for letting us waste our time without telling us. You will not get help here. Try another hardware store. read more

I know it's hard to find Good employees right now but the manager of the store needs to fire their entire, "customer service" department and start over. I spend a fortune at Home Depot, between carpets and several sets of appliances and hundreds of things between -- today I'm on a time crunch so I ordered for curbside pick up with five hours notice. The website says it will be ready in two hours. I show up five hours later and the order is still showing "pending". It's literally seven totes and a few items of packing material -total of only three skus. I get to the store it's not cold, it's not even started. They told me they'll get it so I wait at the front counter. And continue to wait. I count seven different employees laughing and joking and milling around. In the store closes. I get asked what I'm doing and I explain I'm waiting for this order which by now I could've already grabbed myself five or six times -The customer service rep told me to wait for it, plus I've got a foot injury so I waited. Finally the guy he was getting the order said they're out of stock on the items despite the website saying they have 76 of them in stock. So now he told me to go ahead and go check for myself, so I proceed to shop for the order myself. Get back to the customer service counter and since they had the different size totes available they were less expensive they have to cancel my order and I need to limp all the way to the literal other end of the store to buy everything again [I said I didn't care about the refund] -I explained I've got a foot injury and after racing through the store I'm really in no shape to track over to the other end and they all just looked at me with a blank look on their face so off I went. Now since the doors are locked got a walk all the way through the parking lot in the rain to get back to the vehicle which I had conveniently parked at the customer service side of the store in the CURBSIDE PUCKUP spot because the order was going to be pulled and waiting. So now I'm sitting in the car sopping wet with a throbbing foot deciding that from this point forward I'm shopping at Lowe's. I bet I've spent close to $100,000 over the past two years at Home Depot and I know it's a multi billion dollar company but if they're pissing off long-term customers like me it's going to hurt when we all start leaving. read more

The rental's team was amazing. Lindsay and Eden helped us the previous weekend as the store did not have all the product we needed, and we had to go to another store which didn't have rentals. Lindsay wrote us a note saying we could take advantage of the free blower for insulation the following weekend, as we would no longer have time to do it that day. We returned the next weekend and rented the blower with no problems, but when we went to use it the next day the hose kept jamming. We spoke with the team and were able to extend the rental another day, and complete the project. The trick was to not use the extension hose for us. Michael, Steve, and Liz in rentals (Liz may be a Manager) were also super helpful, and Jayonna in customer service was extremely friendly and helped us return some product we didn't use. Thank you all for making a not so fun project a little easier. read more

I have to share my experience with the Yelp community, the employees here is so friendly. From the time, we stepped into the store, at least 3 employees says "hi" and not ignore you like a plague. But let me tell you about the 2 L's in the kitchen appliances department. We were in the market to buy an OTR microwave, Larry and Lisa is what you call exceptional first-class customer service in a large home department store. Go ahead, Home Depot, give them a raise already. They truly earn it. We didn't feel rushed or "just a number." They were really friendly and attentive. Wow. What a rotten store. We went to rent a box truck so we could buy some trees for our yard. We decided to split up to get things done faster. He went to tool rental and I went to garden. When I got there, there were no flatbeds. I went back into the store to look for one with no luck even after looking for lumber carts. The few carts they had were either already in use or sitting next to desks filled with miscellaneous items (looked like returns waiting to be restocked). I finally gave up and grabbed a couple regular shopping carts. They had a large group of fruit and flowering trees merchandised together. They were all priced $129, $99, and $69 with multiple signs that said select trees and shrubs 50% off. There were many other rows of trees and shrubs. Not all had these signs. I selected a very large, recently watered, weeping cherry tree that was sitting right next to one of the signs. I lifted it onto progressively higher shelves until I was able to lift it into the basket of the normal shopping cart. With my discount tree, I selected seven mums to plant around it and made my way to the register. When I got there, the tree rang up full price. The cashier called someone over to check that my tree was on sale. He went back and looked at where I got the tree. He returned and confirmed it should be half off the sticker price. The cashier overrode it and let me know she would need the manager to approve the discount. She called the manager and was told if it was on sale then it would have rang up on sale. Any reasonable person would have assumed it was part of the sale trees so I asked them to come and see, but they refused. Disappointed, I left the tree and made my way back to tool rental to see if the truck was ready. It was but we discovered the passenger side floorboard was littered with empty energy drink cans and little plastic syrup ramekins so the floor was covered with syrup. When we said something, they said they were busy, there was nothing they could do, and the manager was not available. Resigned, we rented the filthy truck and started out to buy trees elsewhere. While riding, I decided to share my poor experience with their customer service. I opened my app and the contact us text feature. I was told that services issues had to be shared with customer care so I would need to call them. Thanks. No thanks. Too easy to go elsewhere. read more

I declined to do so and swiped my credit card to simply purchase one other cheap item I had her ring up. The bill came to $157. She charged me for 2 new propane tanks that I hadn't asked for then refused the refund telling me to wait in line at customer service. I went to the Home Depot Federal Way location to buy flooring but they didnt have what I needed in stock. I was told the Tukwila store has some in stock. I drove out there and was surprised they didn't have any left. I went ahead and ordered the flooring with delivery arranged for the 1st of July (A week from order date). Fast forward to the July 1st, I hear nothing from Home Depot Tukwila. I call the following day to find out what was going on and I was told the person who placed my order did not arrange delivery. The person I spoke with told me he just checked and they have it in stock and has personally arrange for my order to be delivered on the July 5th. July 5th rolls around and I get a text message saying they were unable to deliver my order. I call Home Depot Tukwila and I was told due to the 4th of July, they didn't have enough people to load orders. I was patient enough to reschedule delivery for July 6th hoping for the best. You guessed right, fast forward to July 6th, I get another text telling me they were unable to deliver my order. I call the store and was told the delivery driver randomly walked out of the store and took off right before my order could be loaded. As you can imagine, I was already behind on the project and had to cancel the order for a refund. Well, I know I've got some time, so I'll relax and unwind in one of these apparently plywood seats, and regale you all with the saga of my struggle in securing cellular blinds at Home Depot, as I wait for an employee to arrive and assist me. It was a cold and somber October night, but the only thing more chilling than the crisp, dry air, was the abandoned ghost town that had become the Home Depot Flooring section. I had slowly seen its demise over the years; perhaps the advent of online shopping had finally begun to take its toll. A place of excitement in my younger years, filled with magical objects that granted one the power to fell trees, move water, and light up the sky through electricity, had become a much more melancholy experience as an adult. Distant memories echoed through the recesses of my mind, hazy as though cobwebs had taken up residence on the looking glass of my recollection. An abundance of orange aprons, smiling at the child that was me, offering help and sagacious wisdom honed through years of labor. "Where are these sages now?" I asked myself under my breath. Why I kept my words quiet was a mystery even to myself- I could have screamed them out and the only thing to hear them would have been my own ears, as they echoed back through vacant halls of tile and stone. I watched the sky grow darker through the maw of the oversized roll up doors for what seemed like an eternity. Time seems to distort here; I imagine all things dying experience their last hours in a manner different than those of us who are to walk yet longer among the world of the living. Surely, skeletons in their earthen homes perceive time and its passing in a manner foreign to us. And perhaps it is they who I should envy. Their time is done, and they have no projects left, binding them to this existence. I however, still have blinds to hang, and despite my numerous requests for assistance in getting them cut to size, I remain. Ever adrift, haunting the flooring kiosk as a ghost, searching for closure on the project that brought him to this spring of endless restlessness. I wish this were the first time I had experienced this sort of dystopian distortion of time. I wish that there were other places that could perform the duties I need so badly performed. But The Home Depot is all I have, and in my steadfast foolishness, I had already purchased the blinds here. Lowes would refuse me at their doors should I be so bold to even ask. The HardWars had taken so many, and we would all be fools to incite another. I pushed the treasonous thought out as I returned to my waiting. Perhaps it is time that I take matters into my own hands. The cutting machine isn't so sinister as to prevent me from attempting to use it. I have seen it done dozens of times before, in those younger days. Could it be so difficult? I grow bolder by the minute. My heart races as the realization that I can seize my project and reclaim my time washes over me. Maybe the time spent in this graveyard and testament to the ways of old has all been a trial in self reliance? Could it be that the entire purpose of the wait is to discern those who grasp their desires, from those who are content to be forever at the whims of others? Home Depot. I thank you for the trial. I thank you for giving me the courage and clarity needed to cut my own blinds. Perhaps someday, after this deed is done you can grant me an orange vest as symbol of my passing of the ritual. But today- I cut my own blinds. Fellow adventurers, if I fall, see that my personal effects be returned to my loving wife- I will be in aisle 10, 20 paces west from the kiosk. I wish you all well, and I wish you fair enough fortune to avoid entrapments that would lead you here. This is The Worst Home Depot Location I have ever been to. The employees here are very uninterested in helping you for the most part of you need it so don't be surprised when your in need of assistance and your looking around and finding nobody who's working there caring at all about you. Another problem is that they are extremely dishonest as a whole and they do not operate as they claim to. Don't expect the operating hours to be actually be what they say because they will shut the doors and lock them Early and tell you whatever excuse or down right lie that they can in order to get you to just leave. I have shopped at nearly every Home Depot location within the Puget Sound Region and this one is honestly so much worse than any of the rest that it's hard to even think of another location that comes close. And this doesn't simply hold true to the operating hours alone. They don't take returns or exchanges or help customers at the hours of operation either. And here is the part that is important to note. THIS IS NOT BECAUSE THEY CANNOT DO IT, IT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY AND CARELESS and certainly not worth the money they are paid per hour. This problem goes from the bottom all the way up to the managers who are just as bad, just as unconcerned with helping the customers. And it doesn't matter whether it's your first time in there or you have been spending thousands and thousands over many many many years! YOUR LOYALTY TO THIS HOME DEPOT WILL MEAN NOTHING AND WILL NOT BE RECIPROCATED should ever the time come that you need them to simply just honor the things they already claim to be how they operate. I placed an order for a 500 sqft deck I'm building, order placed on Monday Jul 15, delivery date set for Thursday Jul 18th. On Wednesday morning Jul 17th, I get a call that they wanted to reschedule my delivery because the order was stacked incorrectly and it needed to be redone, I said I could not wait for the material and needed it on my original date. She said she could get me my framing material on Thursday Jul 18th, which I still confused as to why the whole order could not be shipped, she then said she could get me my deck boards Saturday morning, it's 4:32pm and my deck boards are not here... horrible customer service when I called to see why they are late. read more

I like this Home Depot a lot. The main reason is because every time that I shop here, the employees make it a great experience. Whether I am asking for help with something or not, I can't get through the store and cash out without being greeted and/or asked if I need any help finding something. When I do ask for help, they are quick to respond and walk me to the aisle, they just don't tell me where it is. I don't need to be walked over to the aisle, but I appreciate their extra effort. The last time I was here, I was buying a couple gallons of paint additives and as I was walking away, the gal working in the paint section called after me and asked if need any stirring sticks. I said I was OK. She then said she would give me as many as I wanted for free. Surprised, I told her I was going to buy a boatload of them. She shook her head kindly and insisted on giving me them. I said I needed 30, but would take whatever she wanted to give me. She counted out 30, put them in a bag and handed them over and made small talk while she did so. She told me that they are always free, just ask. As I was using the self-checkout lane, the gentleman working there offered to help me if I needed anything. Prices are cheaper here on paint and painting supplies as well compared to Lowe's. Massive parking lot, never have to worry about finding a spot. read more

This store like other Homedepot stores sell Ryobi tools but when you have a problem they say the warranty is for service and that you have take the item to there tool rental store for repair. When I go to the store I am told that they are not taking tools that that they have no room for them. How am supposed to get my tool repaired if they won't take my tool in for repair. The store ever they offer a warranty that do not honor. Buy tools anywhere except Homedepot. read more
