I would like to start this review off with the food, it was fabulous. The atmosphere with the live music was equally fabulous. However, the customer service was adequate due to an individual named Lori. If it wasn't for Lori's rude response to my rather simple question about the sauce on the wings I would have given this place a 5 star review. I strongly believe the employees are what can make or break a restaurant experience for customers and quite frankly Lori has made it to where I will not be coming back or recommending this place to friends or family. For the sake of the restaurant I hope management does something about this individual before they lose more business. read more

Come here for drinks. My girlfriends and I came here for a nice lunch after our walk around the market. The food was.... ok. The price for the food is WAY too expensive. The grilled cheese is alone, no sides and is the size of a kids grilled cheese. Same for the burger. We also got the nachos. The meat was extremely greasy and the chips were so cheap. They were low quality I assume and were soggy after 2 mins. The poke wasn't bad. It said shaved jalapeño when it was big slices of jalapeños. If you go, don't expect big portions for the price you pay. Again, drinks were good but how can you mess up beer from a tap? read more

The beer was great. However due to Covid you need to purchase food. My recommendations is to buy off the kids menu. We purchased nachos, chips and salsa and a veggie/ hummus tray. These were not cheap( 7-10$) and served on trays 5x8. Small portions for the price. Customer service was cold and inattentive. One of our orders was given to another table. We asked for additional veggies for the humus and were ignored. Celery was wilted. Disappointing for a new establishment. Very cute place. read more

This was our first time getting to enjoy The Hop Stop. I came with my wife and our three kids and it was Amazing! It was a great environment for the kids out on the patio with dogs, other families, heaters, picnic tables and TVs. The food came quick and was tasty - I had the merica' burger, my wife had the Cobb burrito, & our kids ate tots and Mac and cheese. Don't blow it Poway. Frequent this place for it to stay in business. Hop Stop has great food and one of the best craft beer selections in Poway. The bartenders are personable and helpful. The restaurant is also perfectly suited for social distancing, with picnic tables set up outside, approx 10 feet apart outside. We (two grown men) split the Dirty Fries (highly recommend), the 'Merica burger (also excellent) and the meatball sandwich. Meatball sandwich was full of flavor though smaller than expected. Good thing, we were both stuffed. Thrilled to have this outdoor venue close by, in the always quiet Poway Park area. Looking forward to many more visits. read more

The Hop Spot was a fun place with yummy burgers. Very friendly staff! We ended up here because the Hamburger Factory closed early on Halloween and didn't post it on the internet. First visit tonight and not impressed, like walking into a work zone, no directions, junk piled in the entry and no host or the owners greeting guests. Location is excellent, seating perfect, outdoor space is great, good beer selection and there it stops. Food is poor, need definite guidance to make this a go to place in Poway. The potential is definitely there, definitely lacking in food quality. Naked Chicken wings, dredged in a cornstarch mixture which gives a metallic taste, 4 sauces need seasoning, needed to ask for the the missing sauce. Adult grilled cheese was pathetic. One slice of bacon a few caramelized onions with some shredded cheese on floppy bread. Wait staff were lifeless, no interaction. Bring food and no utensils, napkins, no checking back to see how things were going. read more

First off let me say I'm so glad there is a place like this open in Poway finally! They have just opened and the first weekend I went they were very busy and ran out of the food on their menu but were serving burgers and brats. I had their veggie burger which was delicious. I went back with my husband today. It's a quick walk from our house which is an extra bonus. The staff was very friendly and they asked me what kind of beer I liked and gave me great suggestions. The beer I had was awesome and we ordered food, found a table and the food came out really quick. Poke and nachos. Super tasty! The owner, Mark, came over and introduced himself and we had a good chat. I would definitely recommend this place to people to try out. Great service, great food and beer. Recently ate here for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great and plenty of spacious outdoor dining. Tables were disinfected in between guests and everything was clean. Our burgers were delicious and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Only thing I would suggest to management is to have the food runners bring utensils to the table with the food or have the bartenders give it when you place the order. Having to leave food to get cold was the only downside. Other than that, I highly recommend the hop stop as a great place to grab a burger and a beer in fun family friendly environment. read more

My family went to the Hop Stop today for lunch. My wife had a salad she described as mediocre. My son had an adult grilled cheese sandwich he said was actually bad and I had a bratwurst sandwich that was so not good I could not eat more than a few bites. It was so disappointing we will not be going back and definitely not recommending it I'm sorry to say as we have dined at other restaurants in the same area 5 minutes from our home. The fact that the food was very overpriced made us feel sad as we are long time Poway residents and like to see new businesses succeed. In addition the sauerkraut was dry and did not taste good. The same with the French fries and both are not easy to prepare poorly. So sorry to the owners as this is the first Yelp review I have ever felt compelled to write. I really wish you well and truly hope you can make the necessary improvements to achieve success. I was adamant in coming here because of some low reviews but I decided to come anyway with my family. I am definitely coming back. My grandson had the bacon burger and he loved it. I took a bite and it was the best burger I've had. The naked wings with 4 different dips are VERY good. My daughter had the Murica burger and she said that deseved a 5 star. We went here on a Sunday night with the whole family to celebrate my moms birthday. They have a wonderful outdoor patio that wraps around the restaurant. We also love that it's dog friendly too, so we brought our pups. They have a great selection of beer and the food and drinks came out fast. The staff was also very nice and accommodating. My husband and I went to The Hop Stop for dinner last night. It was our first eating out experience since prior to COVID (we did a lot of delivery throughout quarantine). They have a great, large patio space and we found seating easily, even though it was pretty busy. The food was great and they have a nice beer selection. This is definitely a millennial hot spot...kid and dog friendly, and they played all the great 90's & early 2000's R&B hits. It was a great re-introduction to eating out. Our favorite place to go for lunch, dinner, or to just meet a friend for a drink. Food is fantastic, service is excellent, and the tap list is the best in Poway. Our kids love the outdoor experience, and we enjoy allowing them to walk around Poway Park while we sip on our drinks and relax.
