Passing through on a road trip and we were lucky enough to find Patrick's as a place to stop and…read moreenjoy lunch. There is ample parking and a lovely covered outside seating area that we took advantage of for dining. The menu is extensive and all then portion sizes that I saw arriving at nearby tables looked very generous. For this reason, my husband and I decided to share the steak salad. They even brought it out in 2 separate bowls which was so nice! It was plentiful and the steak was cooked as ordered to medium rare. The service was fast and friendly and we really enjoyed sitting on covered porch. The view was lovely.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. We started out with the buffalo chicken dip with tortilla chips. The dip was good, but the stand out was the chips! They were light and crispy with just the right amount of salt. Two of us ordered the loaded Patrick's bowl with mashed potatoes, fried chicken, chicken gravy and corn. It was pretty bad. The chicken was overcooked and really tough to eat. The potatoes were super thin, runny, and most likely an instant potato mix. I was definitely expecting more and was disappointed by the dish. Maybe they were having an off day? The restaurant was really busy so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. I would give it another shot.

My visit here was the plot of a sitcom. The wife and I are in 2 separate cars and she says "I'll go…read moreanywhere, I'll follow you." I check a couple of places and plug in the directions for Wings Over Happy Valley. We get to the parking and she says, "I don't want wings!" Typical husband/wife interaction. Well we're pressed for time so we go in, place our order and sit down to wait. Now I've heard of places with a credit card minimum, places that don't take Amex, etc but never (since Covid lockdown was over) have I been to a place that doesn't take cash. Normally I'm a big fan of wings but I have a long drive ahead of me so I opt for boneless that I can eat with a fork. When the food comes out, I take my first bite and realize this place is something special. The most tender, moist and juicy chicken tenders I have EVER had. EVER! I am so sad I live 4 hours away!

The fries are, admittedly, very good and have a great crunch- kind of like if Raising Cane's fries were actually good. I got the chicken tenders, and they were okay. The chicken itself was tasty and juicy and seems high quality, and the medium sauce I got tasted like a good buffalo sauce, but the part that killed it for me was the breading. It was a thin, almost nonexistent layer and was extremely soggy (and I ate my order as soon as I received it), making the breading fall off and feel like I was eating a naked tender. I'm sure somebody loves that, but I need that crunch, and more than such a thin layer. The customer service was nothing special, as it IS a college town. The food wasn't bad, but nothing special and nothing worth eating twice.
