Took a while to come out, but when it did, it was super hot & fresh. Sauce ended up being a bit spicy, which was misleading. My kids still enjoyed it, though (with lots of water). It was way too saucy & and sweet, in my opinion. The skin is super crispy, but it was just too thick. Radish, fries, & cole slaw were tasty. Skip the mac & cheese, completely flavorless (my 2 year old enjoyed it though, but also her favorite food is plain rice rice). Overall, I've had better Korean fried chicken. Updated 5/2/26 LOVE that they have happy hour 4-7pm every day and draft beer. Our go to order has become the golden original half chicken and sweet potato fries. Love their Sapporo draft beer as well. When I went during the 2-3pm time frame- service wasn't as good as the 4-6pm time frames (our typical time we go). The radishes and sauces are so good! I think this is better than the Falls Church Location imo. Something about the chicken where it just tastes better and I don't know if that's just an issue with whoever is cooking it. Same thing for any order I get from here, I get the golden original, it's a solid pick for something not too complicated and not saucy at all. I just don't think I could handle the spice either. I always order from the Centreville location because their radish cubes are larger and tastier. It always pairs well with the chicken wings. I've ordered honey garlic again and again from this location, and it always tastes to good! Their cheesling fries always taste good, even after i've left them out and they get a bit cold. If so, it didn't quite match the taste and texture of the OG, but was still a great attempt and definitely satisfying. The sauces were flavorful, and the chicken was crispy. I tried the Hot Spicy Chicken, and it lived up to its name, it's definitely spicy, with a balance of sweetness that adds an interesting balance. As a huge fan of Bonchon's soy garlic, I was a bit let down by BB.Q Chicken's version. While still good, it didn't quite have the depth of garlic flavor in the Bonchon's soy garlic glaze. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and the service is fairly quick. Overall, BBQ Chicken is a great staple spot for Korean fried chicken, and while it didn't live up to my Seoul expectations, it's still worth a visit if you're craving crispy, flavorful chicken with solid sauces. read more

My experience at this place was unexpectedly amazing! I visited on Sunday afternoon with a big group of 10+ people, and was able to sit in right away. It was a bit dark, so I could see a lot of people on a date. We ordered variety (Cheeseling, Original, and Galbi), all in boneless, and Rose Tteokbokki. I was pleasantly surprised!!! Chickens were SUUUUUUPER tender, and the seasonings were addicting & have good balance. It tastes definitely unhealthy, but I mean...who looks for wellbeing when they come to get fried chicken! Galbi flavor wasn't too spicy but rather sweet&spicy. Even the original without seasonings was sooo good. AND OH MANNN!!!! Rose Tteokbokki was a taste of heaven! Their menu was very misleading. I had ordered the $9.95 deluxe chicken sandwich and the waitress had asked what side I wanted with my sandwich so I ordered one of the options listed on the menu. Food was fine; tasted great and seemed like a great deal. But when I got my check there was a $4 charge for the fries. No where on the menu did it say it would be an additional $4 nor did the waitress mention it was additional the way she asked was as if it was a side that came with the sandwich; if there was any mention of it being an additional $4 I wouldn't have ordered it. And when we mentioned it to the waitress there was no compensation of taking it off or anything like that and we showed the menu to her how it said nothing. Was very disappointed by that. We normally get a whole chicken to-go, but for the first time, we tried their lunch specials. It includes a choice of your chicken, 1 side, salad, and a drink; all for less than $15-17. The chickens are perfectly fried, crispy outside, juicy inside (as always), and a great portion size for the side and salad. I was surprised. What sets BBQ Chicken and Beer apart from other fried chicken shops is the fact that they fry their chicken in olive oil. I've ordered the secret spice chicken (half order), as well as the soy garlic chicken wings. On past visits, I've also ordered the plain golden olive chicken. My advice is to get something like the secret spice that has a flavorful sauce, the golden olive chicken is just OK on it's own. If you're looking to load up with an appetizer before your chicken arrive, look no further than the spicy chicken cheese balls. These. are. so. good. Cheese wrapped in chicken and then deep fried? Sign me up! The spicy dipping sauce is just so good. Get an order of these for your table.
