I am extremely frustrated that I was required to pay a $249.00 service appointment fee to have a technician inspect my hot tub. The service technician confirmed that the jet pump motor had failed and verified that the replacement jet pump motor is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Given that the failure was determined to be a warranty-covered defect, I do not believe I should be responsible for the diagnostic service charge. I purchased this hot tub with the expectation that warranty-covered failures would be handled without imposing significant out-of-pocket costs simply to confirm a defective component. Charging customers a substantial service fee to diagnose and validate a warranty claim undermines the value of the warranty itself. I respectfully request reimbursement of the $249.00 service fee, or an explanation of why this charge is not covered when the repair has been confirmed as a valid warranty claim. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a fair resolution. read more

First time in 5yrs of ownership, my Hot Springs spa sprung a leak. Called The Hot Tub Store who quickly arranged for a service appointment. Rainy, cold day... fully expected a cancelation/reschedule call. Nope. Benjamin called to talk through the issue and proactively assure that the service truck was stocked with materials that may be required to complete the job. Both Benjamin and Chuck showed up on time and were extremely professional and courteous. Their experience was evident immediately - not only did they quickly isolate my leak (which I'd have never found), they also addressed some other lighting issues I didn't even know I had. When I tell you my husband has been dragging our family from one hot tub store to another for YEARS, I am not exaggerating. Our kids and I begged him to please just buy one already! Have you heard the expression "Either piss or get off the pot"? That was us. He even resorted to tricking us by going to eat somewhere in the same strip mall as a hot tub retailer and then sneak attacking us by casually mentioning "Oh hey! A hot tub store! We should go look!" (Insert groans of protest, heavy sighs, and copious eye rolls). We all knew darn well that after discussing every model in the shop and getting the sales person's hopes up we would be leaving, once again, hot tub-less. (This may seem like an exaggeration, I assure you it is not.) That all changed this summer when we pulled up to The Hot Tub Store in Folsom. The stars were in alignment, the moon was perfectly placed in the heavens, an angel leaned down and whispered softly in my husband's ear "Please, for the love of all that is good in the world, just buy the spa!", I don't know... Scott greeted us as we entered. He was friendly and attentive, without being too pushy. My husband told him what he had been coveting for 10+ years. Two and a half years later, our spa panels are properly interlocked with no bulges or gapping openings!!! 9/26/23- Service Rep Chuck came to our house a little after 4pm. He had the last few panels needed to finish up the repair job. He even relocated the air vent that allows the motor to cool from being pressed into insulation at the top of the panel, to the bottom of the panel where the motor is actually located. My new to me swim spa is fantastic! I appreciate the guidance toward the best fit for me provided by Patrick. He was patient with my numerous questions. Christian was engaging and easy to understand at my in store orientation. Monique was kind when calling to schedule delivery etc. The delivery crew was great! The only thing that could have made this better would have been having a coordinator or check list of things to expect (like how long the installation will take, when the electrician should be scheduled after the installation, what size crane is needed, etc.) This is my first swim spa and I had no clue of all that goes into installing one. Patrick did a great job of getting the installation instructions to me but the electrician, the concrete installer, and the crane service all had questions that needed answering and/or issues to resolve. I was having to contact Patrick to ask questions I didn't truly understand, wait for him to get the information and call me back, then contact my contractors to give answers I didn't truly understand. Occasionally, I had to call more than once to get the answers I needed. In a perfect world, there would be one person with all of the answers to whom I could refer my contractors. Hi, I don't often write reviews about restaurants and companies. But I am VERY motivated to write about The Hot Tub Store." I have primarily been working with Scott at the Folsom store. Whenever I make a large purchase, I do a lot of homework and check out all or most of the options available. I knew that Hot Springs was a great brand. But I wasn't sure that I could afford one. I've dealt with a lot of sales people through the years and I found Scott to be the probably the best one I've had the pleasure to deal with yet! I went to so many different stores and brands. The most frustrating part of the search is that I kept getting contradictory and often incorrect information about Hot Tubs and Their Features. THat is SO INFURIATING! Scott was someone I came back to again and again and always got an honest answer that I could trust. Even when I said I didn't think I could afford a Hot Spring, he still offered to answer my questions and was so trustworthy. At the end of my search I found myself angered by most of the other hot tub places out there. I wanted to go with a Hot Spring but didn't think I could afford it! Scott worked with me and we found something within my budget and a good payment plan that made it possible. And when I needed chemicals from another store (West Sacramento), they stayed open later for me so that I could get my last items so I could fire up my tub for the first time! They were eager to make my sale. There was very little follow up. I had to call and ask for delivery instructions , the only time my salesperson connected with me was when I called first. My hot tub was running late, I had to call. No communication between the store and the factory, I was out of town when it was done, I notified them and they still scheduled delivery. I had to call them to reschedule because it seems there's not much communication between different departments. I guess for $13000 (yes $13000 ) I had hoped for any kind of service that I didn't have to call and ask for. Supposedly the tub is being delivered today, but I have received no notice. Update: a few months later. Love the tub and the saltwater system. The manager at the store totally made things right, and service got better. Changing my review to four stars. read more

Do not buy this brand, absolute poor build quality with even worse customer service. Lets start with the begining... Upon delivery, the team scuffed up the side installing, not bad enough to make a big deal of it but this was only the start of all the issues. Delivery was supposed to be done and all products needed, like filters, this was not the case. Filters came the next day by someone from the store who had no idea how to install them. Again no big deal... but it keeps adding up. The none moving jets would be found in the bottom of the hot tub from falling off, not from use but from the hot tub turning its daily self clean on and the jet would pop off. The solution for that is drain the tub, waste all the water you just put in and heated. Then use silicone to hold the jet where it belongs.... or call and pay the warrenty copay everytime one falls off, which so far my copay has ranged between 79 and 150 dollars with no explaination as to why im paying for their faulty product. The salt system has never worked. We did have a warrenty gentleman come out who was fantastic, he had to mess with the system for about a half hour and finally got it working right. 2 days later with no use and evrything set up, the salt system failed again. Multiple trim pieces have fallen off from around the tub, and when inspected, virtually no glue found and staples no where near deep enough penetration to hold the trim. The waterfall stopped working and the dial to adjust the waterfall amount squeels like an old trucks bad fan belt. Every now and then the hot tub will go into "protection mode" claiming the filters need to be cleaned and unobstructed. This can happen randomly even after brand new filters have been placed on with nobody ever getting in, all levels proper and a couple days later. The fix for this has always been to turn the breaker off/on. Unfortunately this last time the message remains rendering the hot tub useless. We have had a string of non stop problems from this product, if it was a car it would have been lemon lawed and taken back. Because its a hot tub the amount of money required for "warrenty work" is unrelenting and a nightmare. DO NOT BUY FROM THE HOT TUB STORE! read more

We bought a salt water hot tub and absolutely love it. It is low maintenance that requires maybe 15-20 minutes a week to check levels and clean filters. The water has been crystal clear ever since we bought it. It has 49 different jets in it and even has foot jets with a high and low speed. Went into the Hot Tub Store in Folsom, CA Friday afternoon at about 3:30 for a filter for a spa purchased there in 2014. The store in West Sacramento had the filter, but I wasn't sure that we could get there before they closed. Therefore, we went there primarily because a) no other store in town ad the filter, and b) they were open until 5:30 PM. The (sales? customer service?) person there had a name-tag that read "Mom", (along with a tag that had her name in smaller letters). She asked us the address, who the original owner was... just to sell us a filter. Otherwise, we wouldn't get a discount. OK... We had some questions about refilling a spa (for the first time, for us); she replied that she would love to help us after helping a customer that entered while we were buying the filter. Fair enough; we looked around the store and saw a few more items that we wanted- the pillow on the original spa was worn out, and there was a tray that fits on the side of the spa that my wife especially wanted. They then start to look at baby pictures of grandkids, gossiping, talking for 5-10 minutes, then taking a long phone call about the color of a pH strip. We got a bit more than irritated, and told her that we had to leave. She replied that "I'd love to help you!"; but by that time we felt pretty much that we weren't very important. So, I have no plans to go back to that store, they get a bad review, and some money (then, and any future) walked out. read more

So happy with my new Hotspring Spa from the Hot Tub Store. Have it up and running a few weeks now. My previous Hotspring Spa decided it had enough after 30 years. Sometimes things must come to an end, although with that spa not sure when that would be for many years. Customer service has been top notch. I was intimidated at first with the chemicals and up keep of the spa, but Bridget walked me through each step of the way. Less than a month old, sales team was good, but delivery, service and speed to resolution has been extremely poor. I completed the survey from the President, since he mentioned "how valuable I was as a client", with a "No, I would not recommend" last week and I have yet to receive a call. Summary of problems: * spa was delivered with a broken light on the outside corner. * delivery folks took pictures and said that a service team would call; they never did. * I had to initiate a call to my sales person to expedite. Was quoted a 3-4 week ETA (seemed excessive, but OK). * Part was ready in less than 7 days (nice surprise). Installation date set. * Installer arrives, replaces the light cover, but then breaks my spa side panel trying to put it together. (Fail). * After another call to my sales person, he confirms that it is going to be another 3-4 weeks to have a replacement panel ordered. * At this point, the company has not made any effort to expeditite this process for a brand new spa. Nor, has there been any form of compensation or credit for our time or hassle. If that weren't enough, the delivery people installed the cover on backwards. Really? Just letting all know, while I can't say enough good things about a Hot springs Spa, the Hot Tub Store in Folsom is WAY overpriced. I've previously bought 2 Sovereign model spas in the past, (for various houses I've been in), and decided for our new 2nd home, I'd change it up to order a Vanguard model. They could not sell it to me, as my 2nd home isn't on this area, and referred me to a different Hot Springs dealer. I know that each dealer independently sets their prices, but the Vanguard in Folsom, is, (SALE PRICE), listed in their store for $18999, whereas the other dealer I went to sold me the SAME spa, for $14300! A LITTLE variability is understandable, but almost $4700 more expensive is a ripoff. I hope they adjust their prices soon. You might want to try haggling. Good luck! read more
