Jason is great, I said that last time you sent me the text to review (never agreed to get texts for something like this, e-mail would be better. I check email once a day, I check texts anytime I hear a notification, this time I was painting) What is it with this review culture. If i had a problem, I would discuss it with jason or contact his boss. I work about 358 days a year and have no spare time. That of course is a great reason to contract a pool service. So I ask Gregg's to consider Jason's work 5 star and give him his bonus anytime they are ready to ask for reviews, but please don't text me anymore review requests. Chemicals seem to be working. Not sure pool is being brushed though esp. stairs. Discoloration is spreading. I think just a reminder would help. Photos are taken while pool is on so you can't see what I see. Not sure how often brushing is done. I know our steps were very clean before your service started. read more

We started with Gregg's after our previous pool guy of 10 years or so retired and passed us off to Gregg's. The first couple visits seemed OK. Over the last 2 months, they sent some new dude who was more interested in talking on his cell phone with one hand and using the skimmer with his left hand in a rather haphazard pattern. Over the weeks, he has not cleared the pump basket or checked the filters and when he adds chemicals, he doesn't run the pump. After each of these weeks, I emailed them to try to motivate them to actually perform with same quality as the previous company. The last two emails have gone unanswered. One day after his last visit, the pool turned green. Ah well. On to another pool company. read more

called Greg's to get my solar turned on and the filter cleaned due to lots of bubbles. Dan showed up and seemed like he knew what he was doing(he doesn't). everything seemed fine until he left and the pool started bubbling again. I inspected the filter and discovered Dan didn't tighten up the bolts or latches that secure the lid, I had to do it (still have bubbles). I called the office and the man told me to call Dan(hey moron, that's not how it works). Dan came back a few days later and tried to fix it but he couldn't. I took it apart and found that he used some kind of thick white grease on my o-ring and the o-ring was also pinched. I ordered a new o-ring from Amazon along with the correct silicone lube and fixed it myself in minutes. these people are incompetent, DO NOT USE THEM!!!! if I could leave no stars I would. I should have known when they charged me almost half of what they quoted me. quoted me $380 and charged me $220. that was my sign and this is your warning. read more

Couldn't be happier with the customer service and the work done on my spa. They first came out to fix a jet issue and the guy walked me through it so I could do it myself next time. Later my heater went out and again they were great! Had it diagnosed, got the part and fixed within a week. The techs are great and so is the office staff. read more

I have been going to Gregg's Pool Works for around 10 years. I am wondering if they have changed ownership. the young woman who used to work at the front desk is going. She was a joy to deal with and always very friendly and helpful. There are now 2 guys working the front desk/repair area lately who are very unfriendly. I went there this morning to get a case of chlorine and one case of muriatic acid. In addition, I needed a water sample checked. The young guy at the front desk (with the 1970's porn star mustache and tattoos) handled the transaction. He was listening to something on his ear buds the whole time. When he failed to plug in the water sample machine, he started complaining to the other guy about how slow the computer was working this morning. After a few minutes, he finally realized that he didn't have the sample machine plugged in for testing the water sample. When the test was completed, he didn't give me, or even offer to give me, a printout of the water sample test. He just said that I needed to add sodium bicarbonate and calcium to the pool. No mention of the chlorine level or muriatic acid level. His attitude was one of "get out of here , we don't want to deal with you." I am not going back to there again and will find a new local establishment to purchase my pool supplies. I have also noticed that the prices t Gregg's for pool spare parts have risen dramatically lately and are double or triple what I can pay for the same name brand parts on Pool Zoom's website. read more

I run a local small pool company and live very close to Greggs. I use it as a supply for me when it's convenient and I can't make it down to a larger supply company. They have larger containers of chlorine for service companies and it's convenient during the middle of the day to go locally to buy chlorine when getting low. Today I sent my Son who has been working for me for 3 years and has told me of conversations he has had with a couple of guys at Greggs over the years. They have a new guy working the counter and says he can only sell him the residential cases. So I called him and was listening in his earbuds as he had a conversation. The young man at the front gave him the prices for the residential cases and he asked about the 2 1/2 gallon chlorine for the service members and he said oh yeah I can sell you those and then somebody from the back room yells, "are you on a service route?" he paused for a minute and he said "um yes" and what he heard back was the lady saying "that did not sound very confident!" I stepped in, in his ear and said "hey ask him how much the five 2 1/2 gallons are gonna be", and then the Guy was called to the back room to talk to the lady. When he came back, he said "I'm only allowed to sell you the 1 gallons" and at that point my son said "OK thank you have a good day" and he walked away and then he told me in his ear "Mom I'm not buying them from them." Now in what circumstances should you ever tell a young man that didn't sound very confident and then refuse to sell him something as simple as chlorine for his service route and why didn't she ever ask what company you were from, because I'm obviously in their computer, and I have bought from them on many occasions. Well, all of that story is just to tell you that I will not be shopping at their establishment again. I'll pay my $.45 extra gallon and go to Leslie's or drive myself down to Rancho to buy my chlorine. You disrespected a young man and for no real reason, it was handled very poorly. Update: Adam from Greggs called me and requested for me to call him back to speak of the "Challenge" in store today. When I did, he listened and then said that after my son was told he could not buy the commercial chlorine that he should have spoke up and said what company he was from and explained who he was. I said usually I would agree with him but after he was told he didn't sound confident enough and then was told he could not be sold what he was there to buy. If that was an adult standing at that counter that comment would have never come out of Janelle's mouth. Professional behavior does not include commentary on how you view your customer. That was incredibly rude behavior and very unprofessional. He was never asked what company he was from or he who the represented. I know that because I was on the phone with him in his ear. Your response, Gregg, is a complete fabrication of what happened. Adam acknowledged that his staff should have used different wording but continued to try to " shift blame" on a kid that came in to establishment, asked to buy a product that he has bought before many times, was asked if he was doing a service route, he gave the correct answer, and then was refused the product. Because his unconfident answer made Janelle believe he was lying for some reason. The next thing that should have happened was for Someone, anyone, to ask what company he was there with. But that didn't happen and he longer felt comfortable with the situation. This was an innocent customer who was treated poorly. No question about it! And I was listening the whole time, that's how it happened. read more

We had a leaking skimmer, a light that was not working and some cracks in the pool. Other pool companies wanted to charge us for a full pool remodel for tens of thousands of dollars. These other companies also said we needed the skimmer completely replaced. Dirk came out and told us the skimmer did not need replacing, it was the gap between the skimmer and the tile that needed repair, which saved us thousands of dollars. They also replaced the light and all the electrical for the light, and had the cracks stapled and plastered. The pool looks great, everything is working now, and there are no leaks. If you want an honest company that will fix only what needs fixing in a timely manner and at a very fair price, this is the company! We highly recommend them. read more

Our pool is probably 30-40 yrs old, so we needed a pool company that was willing to work with what we have and find ways to refresh, repair, and update as well as replace where necessary, and are thrilled with the results of working with Greggs Pool Works. We got 5 different bids and Greggs had the fairest price and were able to solve every problem/challenge, which were many because of the age of the pool, including finding and fixing 'mystery' leaks and dealing with a volcanic rock wall! Dirk was our project manager, is very experienced and knowledgeable, and has a team of skilled craftsmen to call on, and Alicia runs the office and all things administrative like a champ.
