We loved our time at the Hourly Oyster House! We shared the oysters, clam chowder, and calamari between the two of us and then split the lobster roll for an entree and it was delicious! Everything tasted amazing and the service was great. I love that we weren't rushed and sat outside where it was super quiet and cozy. I highly recommend trying!!

This seafood restaurant is near Harvard Yard and was a nice place to grab a bite on our visit. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside but noticed the inside dining area has an old school steak house feel just swap out the usual burgundy colors for navy blue. The service was fast and friendly. I opted for the fish and chips after reading a yelp review that they were the best the person had tried in Boston. I don't know that I'd go that far but they were good and I'd order them again. The only part I didn't enjoy was the cole slaw which was warm and mostly mayonnaise. My husband ordered the mussels and frites which he also enjoyed. Overall we enjoyed our experience at The Hourly Oyster House and recommend it.

Cute spot in Harvard Square for Boston classics like oysters and seafood. Did a walk in for lunch and the servers were all really helpful. The clams were decent. The clam chowder was tasty. The lobster roll as many others mentioned was good but not spectacular (it's on me for not double checking if it was served warm with butter as opposed to cold with mayo). I did really enjoy the bun as it was griddled perfectly with butter.

The grilled octopus was outstanding. I would definitely order it again. The tomato salad with feta and nectarines was OK. Vegan hubby was happy with cauliflower main course.

Ok, so this place has grown on me as it's my husband's favorite lobster roll so we stop in quite a bit for dinner especially on a nice summer night. I've been able to try more dishes and have to say the clam chowder is really good as is the octopus. The bucatini pasta is delicious and the steak I had recently was cooked perfectly. There is an execution and consistency issue, for example the sides I had with my steak, the mushrooms were not good, the mushrooms had 0 seasoning and were super dry, the potato was overcooked. The basque cheesecake we had was crumbly and dry, the texture was totally off, it should not have been served to anyone. Service is really friendly though they have a few really young folks who are still getting the hang of things which can cause some hiccups especially on a busy night. I also wish that when you made reservations to sit outside you could indicate whether or not you would be ok with sitting in the "alley" space, while cute I would not want to sit in that space again. Overall, they have some nice staple dishes and seafood is fresh which is what keeps them so busy but to really elevate things they need to work on consistency and service.

What a fantastic little spot! This is the perfect patio for a Boston summer. Our server was so charming. The oysters were truly some of the best I have ever had -- so refreshing yet still briny and delicious. I absolutely loved the tuna tartare and the moules frites as well. The octopus was good, but I have definitely bad better. The blue cheese martini was also phenomenal. We absolutely loved it here!!

The lobster roll had a lot of lobster but not much flavor sadly. Fries were really good though.

After reading all the positive reviews in various places, I was so excited to try it and unfortunately I personally felt underwhelmed. I had the lobster roll and felt it was just ok. It didn't have a lot of flavor, which was disappointing. The fries were really good though. My husband was t big on his beer either. The waitress was nice and so was the restaurant. I just wish the food was better. It was a shame.

Great outdoor seating and super dog friendly. They brought out a water bowl for my dog which was very appreciated. Food was solid. - Tuna tartare unfortunately had a very fishy taste that made us worry it was not fresh - they brought it back and kindly offered to replace it, but we passed on that - Lobster roll: best dish that we ordered, packed with lobster and tasty bun - Fish and chips: wish the breading was lighter and flakier, and the fish kept falling apart

So crowded. Insanely busy. Really good food. Shirley temple was made & mixed well. He was craving mussels and the bowl they brought me was really good. No sand/grit so they were definitely cleaned well and the broth was really good. They had a gluten free cornbread option with a sweet compound butter. I was intrigued, so I ordered it. So glad I did. It was incredible. Didn't look great but it didn't matter. The taste exceeded my expectations. Service was quick. Would definitely return.

Visiting friends in town and one of them recommended we try this place. We tried "A Tale of two oysters", which includes two oysters from each of the days oysters. They provide a "menu" with a description of the undertones and varieties to the taste with each type. I think the descriptions are pretty true to taste. My friends swear they can now distinguish between "salty" and "briny". I think favorites were the black stone point, sweet neck, and pleasant cove. I also got the fish and chips, but after seeing my friends get the fried clam po' boy I really wish I had gotten that. I think the fish is fried well, but without adding the other components (ketchup, Cole slaw, etc.) it is a bit bland. I also ordered lobster Mac n cheese, which didn't have as much lobster flavor or discernible lobster bits as I was hoping -- but the Mac n cheese was quite delicious with just the right blend of noodle to cheese. Service was pretty quick and servers are attentive to your needs. The inside has close together booths, but each booth is decently spacious. Pictures line the walls. Overall: oyster house lives up to its name, serving quality oysters.

Nice ambience, clean, fresh ingredients and tasty octopus. Prices are decent for the size of the dish.

I came here alone on my birthday. The restaurant was nice and clean, lively. The food was delicious, expected maybe some simple complimentary items but that's okay. No complaints at all there. The service was a bit disappointing. My host was chatting away at the table next to mine--no issue there, but he forgot to check on me. I'm not sure if it was because I was alone, but I checked my time, and it was almost 15 minutes before he even took my order. it wasn't that busy for him to forget, so I felt a bit upset. I dine alone a lot. I also wish they gave me the option to choose where to sit, considering ai reserved ahead. there was a few smaller bar tables that would've been better. Regardless, everything here was a 10/10 except for the service. Still tipped well, nonetheless.

The decor is cute in this cozy bar. Lots of booths and high top tables. We enjoyed the tuna tartare appetizer that we shared. The seasonal gin and tonic was quite refreshing. Service was quick and to the point. Both the lobster mac and the lobster roll were good, but the lobster mac felt lacking in lobster for the price.

Shame on me for finishing this cumulative review now. The good news is every visit was solid. I've been here as a small and also large party. Sat at both the bar and table. It's free. From bar to tables to booths, you're covered with seating. Can they serve a table for ten? Maybe but I wouldn't be that person. Check ahead of time. Drinks are strong. Sometimes sweet but mostly balanced. Food is yummy. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options clearly marked on the menu. Serving dishes and bowls are fun too: skulls/shells/etc. Enjoy this hidden secret. And don't steal the mugs. Buy them--they're so reasonable.

Cambridge is a city jam packed with a lavish selection of fine eateries from corner to corner. As…read morewith options this vast, it can be daunting making a decision on where first to embark. Luckily for us, my bestie and her hubby were our unofficial tour guides for the evening, as we ventured on a casual double date night at none other than Grafton Street. It's as every bit as street level as its exterior decorum exudes. Incidentally enough, we discovered that the best time to arrive on a Friday night is anytime before 7:30, because that's when the crowd decided to show up. That having been said, it's important to note this place can become very noisy very quickly. It is a bar after all. And the lushes were afoot on this most boisterous Friday night. So anyways, we started the night off with two apps.. Spinach and Artichoke Dip: My bestie highly recommended this app and her palate was most spot-on with this one. Creamy as hell with large Artichokes throughout. And the homemade chips add a much appreciated rustic touch to the whole thing. Though, I do wish there were an option to add a protein like shrimp or even lobster meat or something. 9 out of 10, would recommend! Steak Tartare: What's the best way to put this? I think....misleading sums it up. I'd even go as far to say this felt like a fake tartare. For one thing, it didn't even look the right color. And that's likely because it was doused in some kind of dressing that gave the whole thing an unusual taste. Now, we've had our fair share of tartare apps in the past; the carpaccio from Proper Chophouse at the Nash Casino being among the best. But this one had a strange flavor with a bizarre, chewy texture that just didn't sit right with us. Not only was the beef unrefined, it was also underseasoned. Needless to say, we ended up sending this one back after only one bite each and swapped it out for the artichoke dip. 1 out of 10, this one just didn't work. Onto the mains.. Shepherd's Pie: From what I gather, the wifey was quite pleased with this one. She just needed to add her copious amounts of salt as she does because she's the salt queen. After which, she thoroughly enjoyed it. We also appreciate the fact this is a REAL Shepherd's Pie and not merely cosplaying as many other restaurants do by making theirs with beef. Nay. Nothing but lamb in this legit dish. Grilled Pork Chop: Okay. I need to start this out by stating how elated I was to finally try a properly cooked pork chop in a restaurant. So, a little background story - growing up in the 80s, I was fooled into believing pork chop was simply something I pretended to enjoy, since it was always a thin cut, overcooked, dry as hell slab of anemically seasoned pork. Ch'yeah...my uncle really cooked like a donkey sometimes. Anywho, fast forward to 2026 and I'm presented with this gorgeous cut of freshly grilled pork. Right away, I can tell that it is WELL seasoned! A lot. Like...salty. VERY salty. Salty like the sea. Chat, the pork was overseasoned. And I can't even believe I'm saying that! But allow me to elaborate. It wasn't overseasoned to the point of being inedible. But JUST over the mark. And I've NEVER had that happen in a restaurant setting before. Usually, you'll hear me complain about food being quite the reverse. This is so rare, in fact, that I initially had a tough time admitting it to myself. After bite number 7 or 8, I thought, "Wow! This is the saltiest piece of meat I've ever tasted inside restaurant walls!" The insides of my mouth felt drier than Pakistan. I felt as if the Special Forces were about to start conducting maneuvers inside my mouth-hole imminently. But, I digress. This one was OKAY, but I don't think I'd get it again. 7 out 10, not sure if they'll take requests for reduced sodium, but....be sure to drink a tall glass of water with this one. Side note on the potato salad: it was good. Not quite as good as the one I make at home. Though, I can appreciate the fact they use Yukon Gold potatoes, same as me. This one was served warm, however; possibly due to the hot pork chop sitting atop of it. All things considered, we would certainly return. The vibe is contemporary, as is its decorum. And wouldn't you know it? They actually have tap-to-pay courtesy of their mobile POS systems! That was an unexpected, considering normally only casual chain dine-in restaurants have that sort of thing. Next time around, I'd be willing to try a burger or even the fish n' chips, if the mood so fits. Taking into account their potential, aside from their one-off faux pas, I'm gonna give Grafton Street 4 savory pork chops hot off the grill out of 5.

We opted for their Passim burger with thyme fries on a brioche bun which exceeded my expectations for a place that's primarily a music venue. I thought the food would be more of an afterthought but it was equivalent to a casual bistro or gastropub. We sat right in the front row which was amazing for the experience and pics but I would recommend maybe bringing some ear protection if you sit this close. Our show was supposedly sold out but we lucked out that the folks seated next to us didn't show- otherwise I could see that one would be really packed in here as the seating is extremely close together. The performance was amazing! We absolutely loved the show and the intimate vibes. I also really appreciated that Fabiola took some time to explain her instrument, some Puerto Rican history and her experience growing up playing a folk instrument. She graduated from Berklee in 2018 and also brought in a Cuban tres player named Olivia Soler Espinosa in the latter part of her performance who is currently studying at Berklee. Another cool aspect of this place was the mixed ages. There was a good representation of older folks who looked like they have been coming to Passim since the 60s as well as younger folks in their 20s and 30s as well as folks in between. Anyone should feel welcome here.
