They are VERY responsive when you need something, and there isn't going to be an argument. I try not to make requests, but when I have, something happens. They do seem to actually care about the residents, and issues are fixed quickly. There are problems, but it's mostly things that they probably don't have an eye on. My garage is blocked by maintenance people parking in front of it every day (great that the building is so well maintained, but every day?). The maintenance people arrive around 7:30am, and they talk and laugh very loudly in a quiet cul de sac, as if it's a night club. Then I have to search them down every time I want to leave. Lana seems like a gem. I have seen her maybe 12 times since I moved in 20 years ago, which seems like the right amount of times you'd want to see, who I assume is, the head property manager - or maybe she owns the company? - I don't know. Either way, she's very nice and responsive. She gave me her cell phone number when I moved in, in case I need anything (she probably doesn't do that anymore, so maybe don't request). I have received letters from the company accusing me of a broad range of things I have no view of, including being loud taking out trash late night when I wasn't even in the country, as well as sabotaging a device that's meant to keep a property door from slamming - it's right next to me, so I would think I'd be the last person on the suspect list. But I think they just respond to any complaint they get, which is okay. On balance, these are good people trying to do the best they can and responsive to any complaint. Do not have any reservations about renting from them. Really. I don't understand the negative complaints.

THE WORST RENTAL AGENTS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH…read more I dealt with Damon and Marcela at the rental source, regrettably they're the least professional leasing agents I've dealt with. There was a serious mice infestation at the unit on Broderick street x McAllister street. I called, emailed and texted the leasing agents and didn't get any response. Like other people who provided feedback here recently, they just don't care about the tenants at all, they only reach out when they need something from you, Damon would call multiple times, leave voice message, speak to you in a tone as if you should respond immediately, yet when you reach out regarding other matters all they do is ignore your emails, call and messages. One of the leasing agents Damon showed up at the unit without any prior notice on a winter night at 6pm (I have never met him in person by this point), he rang the bell aggressively as a stranger and just expect the tenants to answer. I had a late work meeting and wasn't able to respond, by the time i responded to the bell, he came across agitated and expected me to be available at his own accord. He came to inspect a water leakage problem yet decided to completely dismiss and ignore the serious mice infestation. I do not recommend anyone renting any properties with the rental source, it's the worst rental company I've ever worked with - they literally do not care anything you nor your living environment

Maintenance was super smooth, putting a request in the app and they would come the next day every time to fix the issue. One time a roommate broke one of the blinds in her room, and our landlords.. replaced them with nicer blinds. When we were renewing our lease we got an email asking if there was anything that needed upgrading in the house or that bothered us. Eric and Allen were always very responsive, we get cookies on the holidays, 10/10 renting experience would rent again.

They are always incredibly prompt in handling my requests. They have been a lifesaver for everything from providing referral letters for future landlords and helping me with paperwork, to checking for mail that was sent to my old address and quickly addressing maintenance issues. I've even had to call them when I was locked out, and they responded promptly. To top it all off, they sent lovely cookie baskets during the holidays, which was a thoughtful and personal touch. Unif's team has consistently shown a level of professionalism and care that is rare to find. I highly recommend them as a property management company that is reliable, kind, and genuinely helpful.

Golden Properties allowed an AirBnb to be run out of our building, and despite multiple complaints…read morefrom us and other residents, have allowed it to continue running. Drunken, belligerent AirBnb guests have threatened us (we have video evidence) and have blocked our garage access, which prevented us from leaving. Running an AirBnb is clearly not allowed according to the leases we and other tenants signed with Golden Properties, but they don't care to enforce it. This led to us, and other tenants to all move out of the building within a 3 month span of each other. Golden Properties also threw away my property on our move out date, well before I had gotten to the apartment to turn in my keys.This was even despite me telling the property manager directly to his face the previous day that I would come back the next day to remove my final items and then turn in my keys. They threw away approximately $600 of property before 12PM and have refused to compensate me despite my multiple attempts to reach them. I get it, mistakes happen. But they refuse to make their mistakes right.

Do not trust things this company promise during the visit. If it's not there, it will never ever…read morehappen. We've been fighting over backyard and reinforcing fences over 3 years, which it was promised during the initial visit. They only do the minimum touch ups right before the unit showing but never fix the problem. Our backyard was covered in cigarette butts over a year and they finally cleared right before the new unit showed. They don't check the background very seriously, so we ended up living with drug dealers and their entire party friends over a year. Even after reporting numbers of illegal activities and numbers of police reports, this company did offer the lease extension. So be prepared for your quality neighbors. Also they don't really enforce dog policy nor smoking policy. Our dear neighbor ended up having 3 dogs for 1 bedroom unit, while reported pitbull as lab mix, smoking freely in house day and night. They use only 2 main maintenance staff for hundreds of units they manage, one decent guy who is too busy for you and one crappy grandpa doing his job in the most terrible and inefficient ways - nothing gets fixed at once. Lastly, they increase rent 10% at their convenience where there's no rent control. So be alerted if you are planning to stay over a year. This company is there to just take your money at maximum level, do not expect them to be there for you or any improvement ever. They never answer your phone nor return to your voicemail once you sign the lease. Good luck!
