Guests were having second slices of cake! That's how good it was. Moist and rich yet still fluffy. Best part was that the cake appeared smooth and sleek on the outside without fondant! It held up near a sunny window on a summer day too. It was so sweet that the cake designers humored me with the exact car from fast and furious when I told them the theme was the movies themselves.
I wanted an old-school shower cake for my daughter's small intimate gathering at her apartment. I wanted a cake that would wow and impress the guests. It was a delight to communicate with Jennifer from start to finish. I wanted red velvet and chocolate cake with cream cheese filling. This cake blew EVERYONE away, as I knew it would! They raved about moistness and flavor of the cake. They marveled at the abundance of phenomenal flowers and the magical tiny details like the butterflies and the pearls. Pure artistry. Everything, including packaging and delivery, was PERFECTION. One of the few exceptional purchases in my lifetime. Jennifer and her team will execute a cake worthy of your spectacular event.

The cakes have turned out exactly, if not better than the inspo pics and also, they are delicious!! On top of that, everyone is very responsive to all my requests and questions. They are the best!!
We recently celebrated my father's 90th birthday. Because he has just written a book on the future of nuclear power, we asked The Hudson Cakery to make a cake in the shape of a nuclear power plant. They did an outstanding job. Not only did the cake look fantastic, but everyone said it was delicious as well. Practically the entire thing was edible, even the smoke plumes coming out the top. The entire process of working with them was straight forward with great communication. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the region looking to have a custom cake made for a special occasion.

The Hudson Cakery is a private cake shop in Weehawken. They do not accept walk-ins so all my interactions with them (two purchases) have been via email and everything has gone smoothly and wonderfully. I've purchased their summer cookie decorating kit and also their hot cocoa bombs. I have not purchased a custom cake (yet) but all the pictures of their cakes are stunning! I hope to buy one soon. The summer cookie decorating kit was a super fun activity to do with my kids when we were inside on a hot summer day. We actually took part in a Virtual Yelp event where, Jennifer, the owner walked us through decorating each cookie with icing and different kinds of sprinkles. We also learned a lot about The Hudson Cakery which was a lot of fun! After following them on Instagram, I saw a post announcing they were selling hot cocoa bomb boxes. The box included four hot cocoa bombs (two peppermint and two chocolate, but you can substitute the peppermint with more chocolate if that's not your thing). I immediately jumped on the chance to purchase a box of these since I've seen them in action and desperately wanted some of my own. After emailing the bakery, I heard back from Jennifer. I set up a pick up time, paid via my phone, and it was as easy as that! Pick up is really easy... you just park right by the shop, give them a call, and someone runs outside to drop off the box to you. So simple! The best! I even forgot to pick up my bombs on the scheduled date, so I emailed Jennifer the next day in a panic and she said I could pick them up on that day. So accommodating! Thank you Jennifer! The hot cocoa bombs were so delicious! The best hot chocolate I've had in quite some time. The chocolate was decadent! The kids had a blast pouring the hot milk over the bombs and watching the marshmallows explode from inside the bomb. I highly recommend The Hudson Cakery for all your speciality bakery and cake needs!
Beyond perfect!! My experience with Jennifer getting a quote and communicating what i wanted was great and super smooth. They were very easy to book with, super patient and communicative even though it was only ~1.5 or fewer weeks of notice. When the cake came i was stunned, they had recreated my reference with certain color changes PERFECTLY. Tasted even better than it looks, i WILL be ordering again!

11/10 -- The only custom cake vendor I'll ever use! I have exclusively used Hudson Cakery for all of my custom cake needs since 2022, when I first worked with Jennifer and her team for my baby shower cake and cake pops. Four years and MANY celebrations later, they have become my go-to for every special occasion. We've now used Hudson Cakery for my twins' first, second, and third birthdays, as well as my husband's 40th birthday -- and I genuinely cannot imagine using anyone else! My experience with Jennifer and her team has been nothing short of amazing every single time. Communication is seamless, Jennifer is incredibly responsive and thorough, and she is always so helpful when I have questions or need guidance bringing an idea to life. The cake designs are absolutely unmatched. I typically share reference photos and a general creative vision, and Jennifer & her team always nail every detail and exceed my expectations. Of course, the cakes are also delicious. They offer such a great variety of cake flavors, fillings, and icings, and everything we've ordered has been a hit with both kids and adults. It's rare to find a bakery that delivers on both the artistry AND the taste, but Hudson Cakery truly does both. At this point, Hudson Cakery is a part of all of our biggest celebrations, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The utmost and all absolute props to The Hudson Cakery and their team, they deserve that at its highest esteem! I mean.. what a GORGEOUS and absolutely delicious cake.. the cupcakes were superb as well and the cookies super yummy! Honestly, the cupcakes were the best I've ever had, and I've had my share of cupcakes!! But the CAKE?! It broke not just mine but everyone's heart to cut into it!! I wanted to bring it home and place it on a stand! My guests were asking for the same! So thankful to Hudson House of Play for recommending them, it was a gift to us! The party would not have been what it was without what Jennifer and her team brought to the table (literally )! Who knew that something that looked this beautiful could also taste that good??! And it sure did!! I highly recommend Jennifer and her out of this world talent for any of your occasions! Whether it's a birthday party like mine or a wedding etc. The price is fair and perfect, honestly, for me, the job they did was priceless!! Jennifer delivered the most delicious and beautiful cake we could have imagined. I usually don't like birthday cakes, they are too sweet or ordinary. We ordered her almond cake with vanilla custard and strawberry jelly inside. Brace yourself because this the most well balanced cake that makes you wonder if your taste buds has elevated. Amazing that they were able to stay open during Covid. It is a credit to the owner who has worked hard to keep selling all sorts of baked goods. I have gotten cakes from here a couple times. They make really nice decorations on the cakes. We got a pink rose covered chocolate cake and it was beautifully done. There is an elegance to these cakes which is great. The inside of the cake is also pretty good but there is a lot of frosting. There is also a lot of sugar in these cakes so be ready to have a sugar rush. Love what they have going on here. They do a good job decorating cakes and that seems to be there specialty. The cakes taste good but you can get good cake anywhere. They also have other desserts that look incredible. I just want to start off by saying how incredible their customer service is but most importantly how it has been during COVID-19; AMAZING! Most bakeries are closed or have a very limited selection of what they're willing to do or can do, and I'm just so glad The Hudson Cakery is still taking custom orders. My first time trying one of Jen's cake was actually for my birthday back in 2019, I was surprised with a GOT themed cake. It was amazing! So naturally once more, this year my friends surprised me with a Lysol shaped cake since it was a "quarantine birthday" and it was absolutely delicious. It was Funfetti cake with vanilla buttercream and rainbow sprinkles. It was such a funny and sweet surprise and everyone enjoyed the cake (even the most picky eaters in my family). In May I followed up with placing an order for two cakes for Mother's Day (one for my mom and one for my boyfriends mom). I decided to be a little "extra" and get my mom a "Drake" cake that was chocolate with salted Carmel filling. For my boyfriends mom, I went ahead and ordered the Secret Garden cake (chocolate & cookies and cream filling) and was so happy when she agreed to add red flowers since that's his moms favorite color. Both were crowd pleasers and absolutely delicious! I will definitely continue placing future orders with Jen! I'd love to see a mocha/coffee flavored filling in the future too, it would go so great with her chocolate cake because it's so moist and fudgy! read more

Thank you so much for making such a cute baby shark mini cake for my son. He loved it and so did my family. He had a great time today at an indoor playground with his cute cake. I also cannot wait to see the cake we had ordered for his actual birthday celebration soon!! Also ordered another a mini cake for my friend's engagement celebration before and it was so simple but so cute. The flavor was also delicious, we had the banana bread flavor. Also some cup cakes we ordered for my son's baby shower and they were delicious as well! Will be ordering more sweets for our future celebrations for sure! read more

I had a wonderful experience working with Hudson Cakery. They made a gorgeous cake for my 30th birthday party. It was easy to pick up, and the cake made it safely through a 30 minute car ride as packaged. It was easy to add a cake topper and candles without ruining the cake. It was very important to me that the cake tasted good in addition to looking pretty, and they delivered. The top tier was chocolate and the bottom was funfetti, and guests gave it great reviews! People said it tasted like cookies-- high praise, in my book! People even thought the fondant was delicious, which is rare. read more
I've already placed two orders, both for my kids birthdays. I ordered PJ Masks (sorry, no pics - but they did an amazing job) and Peppa Pig themed cupcakes. Due to the newness of PJ Masks, the license only allowed for edible images on disks, to go ontop of my cupcakes. Nonetheless, they were a big hit and the kids loved them. The bakery is a nice large clean space, that smells od pure delight as soon as you walk in. Both times (11 days apart on pickups) they were ready and waiting. The staff is extremely good on response time; I communicated entirely via email and I never had to wait longer than 24 hours for a response. I ordered basic vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The icing stole my heart, its perfect. I might give this place a shot on my upcoming events. read more

I ordered a custom two tier cake from here for a 30th birthday. One tier vanilla with fudge filling and the second tier was supposed to be funfetti with fudge filling. However, the second tier was vanilla with what I think was cookies and cream filling. Not what I had ordered and was in my contract. I also got a loud "awwww bummer" from the 40 guests when I cut into the cake. Funfetti was the birthday boys favorite flavor as well as other guests so not getting it was a HUGE disappointment. The cake still tasted good and the overall aesthetic was well done. When I emailed hudson cakery letting them know of the mistake they did not offer reimbursement. They did offer 20% off a future order which isn't helpful because I will not take the risk in ordering from here again. Tasty cake and nice design but disappointing flavor and mediocre customer service. Be cautious when ordering! read more

I love this bakery so much!! I have worked with them on 2 occasions so far and they have far exceeded my expectations each time. The first time I had asked them to make a cake for my fiancé's birthday. He performs in Ironman triathlons and I had wanted something on the cake that would reflect that and wow did they do an amazing job! The second time they had made me a set of absolutely gorgeous baby shower cupcakes for a coworker which were a hit. Aside from the presentation, their cakes are so yummy and moist! On September 21, 2018 I married my best friend and partner. It was a beautiful evening and having The Hudson Cakery played a big part in our special evening, it was just the touch we needed to make our wedding reception very memorable. The team here was so detail oriented and welcoming part of the process from the first Email that I sent to them inquiring about a cake for our wedding. This team made it very easy to choose our cake and the owner/cake designer Jennifer was amazing and was open to our ideas for our cake design. We ended up choosing one of her amazing designs with a few of our own custom ideas and it was a complete hit at our wedding everyone was amazed and love with our cake. My 30th birthday cake was amazing!!! I completely imagined my cake and told them what I wanted and they created exactly what I was envisioning. I was shocked to see the results!!!
