    The cutest cupcake shop swings.
    Elisa H.

Came as the last stop of our Greenwich Village food tour. The best mini red velvet with perfect cream cheese frosting. My son and the teem siblings, that he met sat in the whimsical swing seats. We ordered a chocolate raspberry Chantilly cupcake with tart fresh raspberry filling and a giant rice crispy treat that was very special! Prices were less than San Francisco area $7 cupcake stickers. Fantastic balance of flavors and proportions of cake to frosting were perfect. There is the sweetest reading nook in the back.

Beautiful and delicious cupcake selections. We came to Molly's as part of a food tour. We tried the mini red velvet cupcake with sweet cream cheese icing. It was yummy. I love that they have regular sizes as well as mini sizes, and vegan options. Beautiful atmosphere, and some of the seats are on a swing. Service is friendly and comfortable. I would definitely wanna come back and try other flavors.

Couldn't decide on which cupcake to get, so many interesting choices. Ended up getting the crème brulee and the blueberry cheesecake cupcakes. Both are very yummy!

Stopped here on a food tour earlier this month. I was a little surprised that we'd be trying cupcakes and I said to myself- how special can a cupcake be? I WAS WRONG! That miniature cupcake is something I haven't stopped thinking about since I had it. They are the winners of cupcake wars and the real deal!! That buttercream frosting- I wish they sold it so I could drink it. It was insane. Staff were friendly and inside was clean. I'll think about that cupcake and it's frosting forever. Cake was perfect and moist. Don't ever doubt a Mollys Cupcake!!

This was my first time trying Molly's Cupcakes, and as someone with a serious sweet tooth, I can confidently say these cupcakes are delicious! They're perfectly balanced, sweet but not overly sugary, and the frosting is just right, not too buttery. I got the Spooky Halloween 4 pack Cupcakes. My favorite was the red velvet and the chocolate salted caramel cupcakes. I'll definitely be back to get some more. The shop itself is a nice size and has a lot of sitting. I felt a welcoming vibe there, like you can grab your cupcake, sit down for a while there to relax or read a book.

I think this was truly the best cupcake I've ever had. I went near closing so many flavors were gone but this lemon flavor did not disappoint. Wow! The place is very cute and put together. Love the colors. Added bonus - there's a bathroom. Rare for a bakery in NYC.

These cupcakes are delicious and unmatched with flavor that is always consistent. I purchased these for a birthday party and they were the star of the show! The service is always top notch. I always order a dozen it is a value price and you can mix the flavors. Some of my top flavors are birthday cake, peach cobbler, crème brûlée, blueberry cheesecake and brownie.

I recently picked up a dozen cupcakes from here to celebrate a coworker's birthday. All the flavors are so good! They have plain build-your-own options (ex.: vanilla cake + vanilla frosting, etc.) and a ton of more special cupcakes (ex.: Boston Cream Pie). Good customer service and pretty affordable for how high-quality it is.

Once you eat one of these cupcakes... you wouldn't want to go back to any others. Their cupcakes are full with flavors. Try it. I got the peach cobbler, apple pie, peanut butter Nutella, and Boston's crème flavor cupcakes. I enjoyed the peach cobbler the most. My least was the Boston crème one. I would say the peanut butter Nutella came second and apple pie third place. Boston crème was good but needed more crème in the middle. I went to an event two days later and they had stop and shop cupcakes. I could not bring myself to have one stop and shop cupcake. I remembered the taste of Mollys cupcake. What makes Molly cupcake special is that , not only do they taste scrumptious, they are original. Mollys was inspired by a third grade teacher. I will say that it is certainly worth to try! They do not disappoint. Staff were very kind. Lovely ambiance. This location is located in Bleecker street, Manhattan. Near West 4th!

Not sure the hype here. Came here to grab a few dozen cupcakes. Service is lovely but the cupcakes themselves are denser than normal, and frosting is very heavy and sweet. For me it wasn't the right balance of flavors for either the cake or the frosting. Glad I tried but not sure I would come here again.

Cute cup cake shop with a lot of flavors. I've tried the chocolate and tiramisu flavor and they were solid.

This is such a cute spot for a little sweet treat. There are so many flavors to choose from and it's really difficult to decide. I ended up getting the Ron Bennington (PB Chocolate) and the Cookie Monster (cookie dough). There were both so good and have such a nostalgic cake and frosting. I'm definitely gonna have to come back and try more flavors.

Wow. These were legit the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. The cake itself is delish and has fun, flavorful fillings. The frostings and toppings are complementary and beautiful! So lucky to have had my company cater them for a work event. Will be ordering cupcakes from here!!

Hello, I'd like to order a dairy free chocolate cake? Please let me know if that's possible!…

They do a vegan chocolate cake cupcake.

Do they deliver to the upper east side?

I'm not sure if they do. I only came there in passing.

Do you make vegan cakes to order and/or can I walk in and pick up a vegan cake?

No they do not make vegan cakes! They only make vegan cupcakes, which are made daily but could sell out so place order a day before to be sure. Flavors are vanilla and chocolate for vegan options. =)

Hey guys! Do y'all know of Molly's cupcakes deliver? Looking into maybe getting some delivered for Valentine's Day! Thanks in advance!

Yes! They deliver for a fee or you can postmates

We walked into the Rockefeller Center location, a simple but charming space with a display full of cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and other sweets that make it feel like a traditional neighborhood dessert shop. The bakery has a warm, inviting energy, with a steady flow of customers moving through the counter, and the display case is filled with desserts that look as appealing as they taste. The biggest reason to visit Magnolia Bakery is the banana pudding, which is easily their signature item. We ordered a cup and found the texture creamy and light, with layers of pudding, bananas, and wafers that created a balanced mix of flavors. The pudding was sweet and rich without feeling too heavy, and the portion size made it easy to share. Beyond the pudding, the cupcakes and cakes are solid choices, with classic flavors like red velvet, chocolate, and carrot cake that deliver the familiar comfort of traditional American desserts. The banana white chocolate cookie is also a nice option if you want something different from their more well-known items, offering a chewy texture and a good balance of sweetness. The biggest downside is the price. The desserts can feel expensive for the portion sizes, especially compared to other bakeries in the city, and the value feels less competitive given the size of the offerings. The shop can also get crowded due to its popularity, but the line usually moves quickly and the service is efficient, with the staff handling the steady flow with speed and a friendly demeanor. Magnolia Bakery is worth trying at least once, especially for the banana pudding. It has become a well-known New York dessert spot for a reason, and while some items may feel overpriced, the classic desserts and nostalgic appeal still make it a fun stop. The combination of a charming setting, familiar flavors, and a convenient location makes it a practical stop for a sweet treat while exploring the area, even if the cost requires a moment of hesitation.

There was a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly. I am boring, so I just ordered the plain vanilla cupcake, but it was just perfect. It was fresh and the cake itself was wonderful. I woke up at…read more5pm and headed straight here from Queens and chose this place over 4 others close by in the area. I hadn't been here in years so when I pulled up I took a step back to take it all in, the cutesy interior which was clean and not too brightly lit. I checked out the cake prices and flavors and when I was sure of what I wanted I stepped up to the counter and began to take pictures bc there were like 4 attendants and I waited for one to engage with me. A young man did he said are you ready to order I said yes and told him I wanted a strawberry shortcake slice $10 and a Brooklyn black out slice (also $10 and the actual reason I came). When he was boxing I took pictures and thought oh maybe I should switch to the hostess slice (out loud). Another attendant said sure, but then the first one pulled up with the boxes and I was like ok I'll just get a cupcake separate. Why I walk back to the cupcakes to choose and the young man starts helping someone new and I look him in the eye he then rushes over but again starts taking another customer. They were 3 customers in the store in total including me so why he didn't want to provide me service I do not know. But it made me so upset I was like wow am I really gonna spend this much money and this guy is being rude. I had to now get in line behind the 2 other patrons that came in after me. The attendant who rung me up tried to empathize and offered me a free $1 candle- it came from a cup of candle in front of the register and when he placed it on top of the box it rolled onto the counter and I said how many ppl touched that?? It's going in a cake someone is going to eat. I declined the candle, paid and probably will never return. Strawberry shortcake slice was a 6/10 tasted old Hostess cupcake 10/10 I inhaled it no crumbs Brooklyn blackout cake 15/10 moist, thick chocolate perfect. Now I'll tell you right now the birthday cake I got my sister was worth the $25 and change I paid for it. She liked it, I liked it, it made her happy- but the service made me frown I really didn't like it. Total rating 3.5

So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. While the presentation was 10/10 across the board, the flavors ranged from "nostalgic perfection" to "a bit of a letdown." Devil Dog (The Winner): This was by far my favorite. It was a trip down memory lane, perfectly capturing that nostalgic Hostess chocolate cupcake flavor I loved as a kid. Lemon Raspberry Meringue: Coming in a close second, this cupcake was bright, fruity, and incredibly fresh. It felt light and offered a great balance to the richer flavors in the box. Ube: This cupcake was stunning to look at. However, the flavor didn't quite live up to the exotic profile of a purple yam; it tasted like a traditional vanilla cupcake that just happened to be purple. Great for the aesthetic, but standard in taste. Hummingbird: This was the only real disappointment. I was expecting the signature tropical punch of pineapple, but it lacked that acidity. Instead, it felt more like a simple banana nut muffin with icing on top. Final Verdict: Overall, the experience was positive. The shop clearly has a talent for decor and nostalgia. I'd definitely return for the Devil Dog and the Lemon Raspberry, but I might skip the Hummingbird next time. Last Note: The woman working in the bakery was a bit rude and had an attitude and that alone will make me not com back no matter how good the cupcakes are.
