Deli case offering various in-house made salads, soups, and stews
    Casey B.

They came out the gate swinging! After starting off by offering "sourdough scavenger hunts" and pop-ups, they have now planted roots in croton-on-hudson-- just a stone throw away from the train station. The storefront is small but mighty- offering a nice selection of baked goods, stews, soups, salads, coffee, and, of course, freshly baked bread! If you want to get your hands on one of their fresh loaves, you better get there early or pre-order online because they sell out fast! Currently, they have limited store hours, but with such high demand, I'm sure that'll change in no time. I got the apple oat muffin, which was the perfect bite - chunks of apple and not overly heavy or overly sweet. It feels healthy without tasting too healthy. They also offer a nice cup of coffee with dairy full and dairy free milk options, as well as fair trade raw sugar. My favorite part was hearing a lady ask a gentleman behind the counter a question, and he said, "Let me go in the back and ask my daughter." A modern vibe and values + a genuine family-run core = the perfect addition to this tiny town.

Amazing sourdough bread, homemade soups, and warm, friendly service. I also enjoy their sandwiches and desserts.

The sandwiches and scones were delicious. Friendly service. A little on the pricey side, but it was worth the trip.

Amazing addition to the lower Hudson valley. Come for the bread, but stay for everything else.

They have a program to text when your table was ready, so we went for a walk in the neighborhood while we waited. A surprisingly short time later, we received the text that our table was ready! The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.

Small but mighty, it was a lovely place to sit and read with a treat! My coffee expectations are usually low when I'm getting coffee at a bakery - but I was very pleasantly surpised, that's not the case here at all! I'd go back just for the cold brew (though how can you resist a treat?!) - strong and smooth, and with an add-your-own milk / oat milk / sugar situation. I got a filled croissant and it did not disappoint! I've been back again since, and my one critique would be that both times I think the croissant was slightly under-baked (but better than over-baked!) They have plenty of options, as well as birthday cake candles, sprinkles, spices, packs of cookies, and granola (which sells out fast, so it must be good!) Service was patient and friendly Also of note: LGBTQ+ affirming & single-use gender neutral restroom A lovely addition to town, and different enough from other local sweet treat spots - there's room for everyone!

The croissants are so flaky, so buttery, and with a light- as- air texture inside with a bit of a crunch on top. I am such a sucker for an almond croissant and Little Star Pastry's is easily one of my favorites. I love how much almond filling they put in it so the sweet almond flavor really comes through. They have so many other treats that I am so excited to try out in the future, but their almond croissants alone are why I have such a soft spot for this place. Coming here is such a treat, and it's a treat I intend on giving myself for many times to come!!
