Drink-wise, the lavender latte arrived with a little bit of an attitude. It wasn't one of those timid lattes that politely whispers "coffee" from across the room. This one showed up, introduced itself firmly, and then followed through with a surprisingly smooth lavender finish. Strong? Absolutely. Tasty? Also absolutely. The Starry Island Italian soda was the perfect counterbalance. One sip and suddenly my brain was nowhere near New Mexico. It was somewhere with palm trees, warm ocean breezes, and a beach chair that costs more than it should. Fruity, tropical, and incredibly refreshing, it tasted like the beverage equivalent of a mini vacation.
