Had a horrible experience yesterday at the human bean and will definitely be in touch with corporate... I pulled through the drive thru and the girl asked me what my tattoo said so I proceeded to tell her what it said in arabic. She then asked me if I was muslim and I answered yes (why is she asking a random customer personal questions like this?) She then said in a loud sassy voice "You're muslim and you're not fasting?!?!" As She handed me and my friend both of our drinks. I answered no. She then asked my friend "Are you muslim too?" To conclude this girl was very judgemental to a random customer She had interacted with in a drive thru. Ive never dealt with something like this before. What She did was awful. If She knew anything about islam She should know that not everyone is able to fast! I shouldn't have to explain to some random teenager why I'm not fasting in a drive thru. If She knew anything about the religion itself She should know that She should only worry about herself when it comes to the month of Ramadan and not put others down because they are not able to fast. This is my absolute favorite coffee place in town. In a town where there are 2 Dutch Bros, a Starbucks, a Black Rock, Insomnia, Manaia, and Bikini Coffee all within 5 minutes, that's saying something. First, they have more sugar free syrups than anyone else. I love a sugar free RockStar with sugar free flavor, and here I have TONS of options. Strawberry Pineapple is my current face. The coffee is good of course too, great flavor, never burnt tasting, always made exactly how I order it. The staff is friendly and I love the chocolate covered coffee bean on top. I recently went to the Hillsboro store on 10th and ordered the same drink I always order. I wasn't looking and they didn't add whip cream, as I touch the cup I said I want whip cream, she said we can't take the cup back. I said I want whip cream on my drink, I ordered with cream and she told me I did not order with cream. I always order with cream and almost every single day I have to remind them, the girls were horribly rude to me, accused me of lying and told me she cannot remake my drink. She told me she would put cream in a cup and I said that wasn't OK and then she kept saying that I was lying and that I never ordered with cream. I do it every day they forget almost every day I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention this morning, I am in tears now because of how they treated me. I asked for the managers name and number, they gave me the store number. When I called it they laughed at me. Both of these young ladies accused me of telling them that I should memorize their drink I have never ever told that to a person in my life. I believe they may have me confused with someone else, I have questioned the cost of my coffee before because I was curious about the differences in prices, but I have never told them to memorize my drink, it was a horrible experience it's now 20 minutes later and I'm still crying like a baby. Not okay, I am just a old lady trying to enjoy a coffee during a pandemic. Update: It is now more than two days later and I am still very upset by this experience, every time I share it with someone I start crying. Wish this place could be consistent. There drinks are good but on the first occasion they allowed me to split a small drink into 2 cups so I could give to my kids and avoid wasting the excess. They can't drink a whole kids small. But the second time the girl refused to do it and said they don't allow it. I simply said no thank you and went to another place which was very happy to meet my request and accept my payment. Will keep going there from now on. read more

Wow we just left and cancelled our order in the drive thru. You just lost a couple customers that chose you over Starbucks and Dutch bros. We ordered two 12 ounce drinks and an 8 ounce strawberry smoothly for the kids to share in the back. "Oh we can't do that. We can't split a drink in two cups." You can't split a drink into two cups so the kids each get 4 oz of a smoothly?Starbucks and Dutch bros do it and they even give the kids each their own whipped cream in Each of their cups!!!! Cancelled our order and finding a new place to get coffee now. Didn't make a $9 sale because you refused to use an extra 10 cent cup. Lol. I really like this place, but unfortunately my interaction with one of your employees was really poor. So much so that I doubt I'll be back here for some time, if at all. Honestly, haven't really had a good interaction with any of the staff in the multiple times I've been here before, but especially this time around. I have been here many times before because I an avid drinker, but since they have been under new managemwnt, their coffee is awful. It is very diluted and the staff is horrible. I had gone back after my bad experience there and it happened again with the bad customer service and horrible coffee. This is my number one stop for coffee these days. And I am happy to report that since my last review I have had the staff deliver my coffee to my table twice. I failed to add on my last review that I was several months pregnant when the barista delivered my coffee to the clear other side of the coffee bar rather than bring it to my table...all well....I guess I needed the exercise. Anyway, since that review, service has returned to wonderful and quick. I love the free coffee beans, but I did not get one when I brought in a reusable cup for my coffee. (bummer) I love the quiet atmosphere inside, and I find it to be a semi-peaceful place to sip my coffee and chat with friends. This was the first Human Bean I went to. It's nice that they have an indoor seating area - other Human Beans do not. The coffee is good and they seem to have more pastry options than other locations but maybe that's because it is in a bigger display. Human Bean is my favorite place for hot drinks. I normally get the Irish creme breve. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a bit troublesome due to the one way streets in the area but that's not their fault. 4 stars. read more

Great drive thru service in Hillsboro in that popular OR and WA style stand alone style coffee building. HB is located in a small strip mall near a Mexican supermarket at 10th and Oak with easy access and parking. As usual they were friendly, pretty quick, and give you a chocolate bean atop your drink. I LOVE this place! !! The drinks are always great, the barristas are professional, music is always awesome, atmosphere perfection. With a relaxed atmosphere and free Wi Fi, this has been my grading/studying/doing homework place for years. .. it's the only place I can actually concentrate in. If you don't quite have a specific drink in mind, ask your barista for suggestions and they'll come up with something great. There are tons of flavor options and they also offer different kinds of milk for vegan customers. The teas, pastries, bagels, and other food items are fairly diverse as well.
