I was so excited for this restaurant to open in Parrish, and it definitely did not disappoint! The food is fresh and incredibly flavorful. Tzatziki is often "butchered" elsewhere--frequently ending up with the consistency of a thin dipping sauce--but The Hungry Greek gets it exactly right. The flavor and texture are perfect. Plus, their app makes ordering for pickup super convenient. Highly recommend!

The Hungry Greek just opened on 301 in Parrish. So my friend & I had to try it as I have never been to one. It was unexpected to see a fast food atmosphere when I walked in. We came at lunch & were lucky to get a table. We placed our order at the counter, sat down with a number stand & our food was brought to the table. Service was quick. We didn't wait long at all for our meals. I ordered the Gyro Dinner as I wanted left overs. I expected to get a Gryo in a pita wrap sitting on top of rice. Instead, Gyro meat was sitting on top of rice pilaf with 4 pita quarters on the side. I couldn't see it, but there was a spoonful of potato salad underneath the rice. My meal was delicious & to satisfied my craving. I was extremely happy with the flavors of the gyro meat, rice pilaf & Tzatziki sauce. Even the small mouthful of potato salad was good. This is the kind of meal you eat with a fork and knife. I went to the counter to ask for an uncut pita to wrap my gyro in. They wanted to charge extra for the pita. Now I know if I get this meal again, to ask for the pita to be uncut. I also ordered the Spinach Pie. The crust was flaky and the inside had just the right amount of filling. Yummy! My friend got the Greek Bowl with shrimp added. When placing the order they asked if she wanted the salad cut up. She said yes. Unfortunately, after we ate, she reviewed her receipt & noticed she was charged extra for them to chop up her salad. At the time of ordering the cashier should had said it was an extra cost. My friend loved her salad. It was fresh & had wonderful flavors. She said the shrimp were cooked perfectly and tasted great. She felt the amount of shrimp was worth the extra cost. I would have given 5 stars, but felt the extra cost to chop up a salad should had been explained. Makes me wonder what other hidden costs might be added when you're not looking at your receipt.

I decided to give one a try on a recent road trip since we were looking for a healthy spot to stop for lunch. Located in a nice shopping center in Parrish, we were surprised to find that we were the only customers at the time. It took awhile for someone to come out from the back to greet us. The interior is simple, clean, and modern. We ordered the Lean n' Green juice, Hot Chix wrap, breakfast burrito, and the All Hopped Up smoothie. It was much more pricey than we anticipated for a quick service lunch -- about $50 for these 4 items. My husband did enjoy his burrito and smoothie. I honestly did not like the Hot Chix wrap at all. It was stuffed with mostly just carrots and very little protein. I like carrots but this was overkill. The juices are already bottled in the cooler and the lean n' green (pear, pineapple, kale, lime) was tasty & refreshing. I also needed to change my son's diaper before getting back on the road and there are no changing tables in the restrooms, so I had to do it on the floor. Not ideal. Maybe I'll try another location in the future, but overall I was not all that impressed.
