I was visiting on a work trip and after a three-hour drive, I desperately needed a place to sit down, unwind with a glass of wine, and enjoy a great meal. A quick Google search did not disappoint. I happened to be right across from a beautiful shopping center and spotted this stunning Greek restaurant. Mediterranean cuisine is my absolute favorite, so I was immediately excited. The only catch? I was cutting it close. They close at 9:00 PM on Thursdays, and I was just seven minutes away with about 30 minutes to spare. I decided to take my chances -- and I'm so glad I did. I sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by a very kind and welcoming bartender. I ordered two glasses of Pinot Grigio and an incredible platter with hummus, chicken skewers, olives, and sliced meats. The platter looked intimidating in the photo, but it's absolutely manageable for one person -- just be warned, the pita bread will fill you up quickly! Even though I felt a little guilty arriving close to closing and staying a bit past 9 to finish, the staff never made me feel rushed. If I hadn't felt bad about the timing, I absolutely would have ordered dessert -- and probably an espresso martini to top it off. Now I know for next time I'm back on the West Coast. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed with a classy, upscale feel -- even though I showed up looking like I had just survived a road trip (because I had). There's only so much glamour you can maintain after three hours in the car. I highly recommend coming here for dinner and then walking around the shopping area afterward. It's exactly my kind of shopping destination -- you truly have everything you could think of in one place. I just wish we had something like this closer to home. read more

I ordered the Monday special $27.99 3 courses, appetizer, a board with Cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh feta, fresh hummus, pita bread, roasted red peppers, olives, and deli meat. Main course was Eggplant rolled with spinach and feta covered in marinara, mozzarella cheese on top of mashed potatoes, green beans and a red pepper. The dessert was baklava with vanilla ice cream. Wow, stopped for a late lunch as I was driving from Tampa to Bonita Springs. Lovely interior and very welcoming. I wanted to try everything so I got the sampler. It was an extremely busy evening and we went early without a reservation. They were able to seat us outside (which was much quieter) though busy too. It was nice when the heater near us was turned on. Our waiter finally arrived and apologized for the delay. Food was tasty (Giro Platter) but could have had more vegetables and no rice, which we didn't want anyway with pita. Might try some other interesting menu items another time. read more

Made a reservation in early January for Valentines Day expecting to be offered the regular menu, then found out in early February a limited prix fix menu was in place. Phoned the restaurant, and was told the regular menu would be offered until 4:30PM, so we changed our reservation to 4PM, and confirmed with the representative that 4PM would work. Upon arrival at 4PM, was told the prix fix menu was only available; the manager on duty refused to allow us the desired menu, tone deaf that we'd have trouble finding something else nice, and blaming us that we didn't see the prix fix hours on their website. We'd only looked at the website menu, which did not indicate hours. See the menu here. We've been here before and the food is good. But obviously they are not entirely well versed with their special events, nor accommodating when they make an error. We may or may not return. So I will say first, that our entrees were good (gyro platter and shrimp orzo). We were able to choose our own table as we ate at 4pm and the restaurant wasn't crowded. What wasn't good follows: We ordered an appetizer (pita with tziki) sauce. When our entrees were delivered I asked about the pita and she said it would be coming shortly. I said I didn't want it because it was an appetizer. She brought it anyway (without the tziki sauce) and it took a while for her to come back and we could say no sauce. Honestly the best solution would have been not to bring it and take it off the bill. The waitress did take it off the bill. We both ordered water to drink, and it was never refreshed. Hard for her to know I normally overtip to account for no drinks. They have a computer so you can check out at the table. She wanted my card before I could look at the check. After I asked this was accommodated. I was able to see we didn't pay for the pitas, and checked out at the table. I got my receipt by text and it asked for feedback, but limited my response to something like 100 characters. If our waitress was a new server, she should tell patrons and I would have been less bothered. So I'm going to hope that is why the service was below expectations. read more

Went for the first time. The food and drinks were amazing. The staff was awesome. We had the grilled octopus that was delicious. First time for me. We had the spritz and the iris and both drinks were yummy. My favorite was the spritz. For lunch I had the lamb gyro and I submitted the fries for a salad. Had to pay $3 more to do that but I'm not a fries person. The gyro was on point. My sister had the kofta which she also enjoyed. I definitely recommend this restaurant. My 2 friends & I came here for lunch. It was my 1st time at Apollonia so I didn't know what to expect. Service was slow as there was 1 server for the inside & outside seating. 2 of us got the Gyro sandwich & 1 got the Grilled Octopus. While we waited we were offered bread. The rolls were soft, warm and served with a side of flavored butter and a side of an oil, olive & sun dried tomato dip. The bread was very good and we had to refrain from asking for more. Having been here before my friend said the Octopus was subpar. She was very disappointed in how overly soft the Octopus was & how it lacked in flavor. Yet she finished the meal as the portion size was smaller than usual. My other friend & I truly enjoyed our Gyros. The Gyro was over stuffed with lamb. A small amount of onion, greens and tomato was on it. There was hardly any cucumber sauce on it, but we felt it was the right amount not to over power the flavor of the lamb. The Gyro sandwiches came with fries that were served with a side of ketchup & a side of aioli sauce. The fries were seasoned perfectly & had some crunch to a few.
