We came in late on a Sunday night for a late bite to eat. This place had a nice Texas ambiance, and a few people at the bar. I started with the Texas gold margarita, which was refreshing, and then got a ranch water can afterwards. We ordered the nachos, which were a nice big portion with delicious toppings. We didn't love the red salsa but enjoyed the green salsa. We also got the taco platter with 2 pork belly tacos and 1 chicken tinga taco. Both were tasty with lots of meat on them. I also got the small ceasar salad, which was a delicious Mexican twist to the normal Caesar salad and not too small either. It was overall great bar food and a nice spontaneous dinner. read more

Overall: Solid bar with lots of TVs and good food selection. The good: Lots of big TVs no matter where you're sitting, plenty of drinks to choose from, and a cozy bar vibe. They have a pretty good menu for a bar and the fries were pretty good, and the service was friendly on a slow weekday night. The not-so-good: The buffalo wrap was just meh, nothing to write home about. Bartender got my drink orders wrong, but it wasn't a big deal to get another pour. Great Tex Mex Choices along with Soups, Salad, and Burgers. Mae's Meatballs in a sandwich or salad or the Chicken Tortilla Soup are exceptional. Tina provided excellent service as always for another enjoyable Brunch on Mother's Day. I loved this spot! My sister and I took the Metra down to Clybourn and this was one of the places recommended to us to try. We ended up staying longer than expected and even stopped back in before heading home! We got there around 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy, but we got a table. They had a few specials going but I am in love with topo Chico seltzers in a bottle, so that's what I was drinking. We ordered the loaded nachos which were huge and delicious. ONE STAR FOR HORRIBLE DAYTIME SERVICE! Great local with solid food and a welcoming vibe that still captures the old Cortland's feel. It's a staple in the neighborhood, and we love having it nearby. That said, the weekend daytime service has been consistently disappointing. Over our last three visits--always with a few other neighborhood friends--the bartenders have been inattentive and disengaged. The bar area is often dirty, and the staff seem more focused on their phones than the patrons. We've watched customers get ignored, and there's little to no effort to recommend food or create a good experience. It's frustrating because the place has so much potential, but we've heard from several neighbors that they've stopped coming during the day for the same reasons. Unless the owner addresses the issue and brings in better daytime staff, I worry this place could go downhill fast. If you're planning to visit, go after 6pm--nighttime service is much better. This gym located in the perfect area for both locals and neighbors has some of the best bar bites you will find!! Stopped by to grab a drink on a Thursday after the place across the street got overcrowded due to trivia. Great atmosphere. Great attentive service. Lots of people here to watch the football games, big screens all around. The drink selection is great. I even got my special request of an Aperol spritz. Very reasonable prices as well. My spritz was $6! Will definitely be coming back for an evening wind down over a drink with friends!! Next time will have to try the food because it looked very good. read more

The pork belly and guacamole sliders were absolutely delicious! The pork belly was so tender it just melted in your mouth. I do wish it came with either fries or chips and salsa as it wasn't a ton of food. Good bloody mary - spicy - which I'm fine with. Truly a hidden gem! Stopped in for a quick lunch after a Costco run and we were here for about 4 hours because we were having a blast. Right as we walked in we were greeted by the bartender, Sara, and she is fantastic! We sat at the bar and it was a happy accident we showed up in time for happy hour (weeks days 3-6p) and we're filled in on the details they have $3 tacos, $5 drafts, $7 margaritas. Sara recommended the pork tacos and the did not disappoint. The pork tacos were jam packed and DELICIOUS. (2 each were just enough) and some of the queso and chips. These are some of the best chip I've had in... maybe ever. They are seasoned perfectly with a seasoning mix and salt and they are sturdy. The crunch is out of this world good. When you think of restaurant tortilla chips - this is what I envision. They have some great locals on tap so I started off with a Son of Juice then headed on to their margarita. Very tasty! Will 1000% be back for this exact order, but I might have to throw in some fried pickles - saw someone else order them and they looked amazing. read more

So glad they took over the space of Cortland's Garage! It's a nice addition to the neighborhood, and it has quickly become our easy "go-to" spot for drinks and apps. Above average bar food- even something as simple as chicken tenders + fries were perfectly prepared. We haven't tried their signature meats and tacos, but we will soon! This place happened to be by the Clybourn Metra and convenient. Sat outside. Great service; very attentive. Quattro Queso app was good and flavorful. My quesadilla was good, maybe could use a bit more flavor, but very fresh. The inside seemed to be a typical Chicago bar with sports on. Decent food if you're in the area. read more

Okay, I've got to start with the fact that I love Hurley Tap as a local watering hole. However, the other day we were feeling snacky and got an order of the fried pickles. I could not have been more disappointed. There was so much batter - they were more similar to a hush puppy with a pickle in the middle. I don't know if the kitchen was heavy handed with the batter or if they are going for a 10:1 ratio batter to pickle, but never again! There are too many other good things on the menu. read more

We came here with some friends and our young babies. The servers were soo nice and accommodating. It started to rain outside and they moved us into an indoor area and were constantly checking in to see if we needed anything. Even the cooks were very friendly to us as well. Manager type dude won't change the TV to a game a big group is watching because says it will be NFL. If NFL was on that would be fine but it is college wrestling. Why keep you customers happy and hope they come back?!??? Will only come back if meeting a group. This def won't be my choice of places to go! -My review went down a star because I was there and I do not agree with the owner's response. Fantastic new bar/restaurant in Bucktown, right off the Clybourn metra. Their slow cooked meats are delicious-- so far, we've had the pork nachos and chicken tacos. The waitstaff and bartenders are incredibly nice and bonus points for a dog and stroller-friendly patio.
