Rooftop FTW. Loved the tacos and burritos. The swordfish ceviche was just ok for me. Will be back for the chill service and happy hour steals.

Good food and service! They have a pretty good brunch menu and their juices are fresh. They also have a taco of the month and you can get some tacos as bowls which is pretty nice. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded. It's a very chill place. They have a bar area, a dining area, outdoor seats, and a rooftop space!

Came here on a day that was a little warmer and got to sit in the patio which was so nice. They had a variety of drinks on the menu and I got their frozen margarita swirl with mezcal which has a smoky taste to it. Got their shrimp and fish taco but they gave me a chicken instead of a fish taco that's why I gave them only 4/5 stars but it was still good. Their chips and salsas are a classic the habanero salsa is spicy but it's the good kind of kick to it. The cilantro salsa is very fresh. Really enjoyed this place to catch up with friends or spend time with family. It's tucked in the neighborhood of Logan Square.

This was our second visit to Lonesome Rose in Logan Square. We arrived at 6 PM on a Sunday night and were seated immediately! This was unlike the first time we visited when we waited a long time. So, we were very happy about that. It's been a couple of year since we were there so I don't recall what the menu was before. I don't do gluten or milk products, so my diet can be somewhat limited. Lonesome Rose offers a number of dishes that can be made vegan and gluten free, so my selections were broader than I'm used to. We ordered a variety of items at the table, but I can only speak to what I had. For a beverage, I had a Mexican Coke. We ordered guacamole and chips for the table. The guac was outstanding - creamy and fresh. It wasn't spiced at all, or at least that I could tell. But it was very good as were the chips. With my diet, the idea of having nachos is not something I'm used to. But they can make theirs dairy free. So, that was what I ordered for my meal. It had vegan queso and vegan crema - wow. I am a meat eater, so I'm sure it was strange, but I ordered the vegan nachos with Barbacoa. My only issue was for the added cost of the Barbacoa, there was very, very little on the nachos. They were otherwise quite good. The service was also very good - they did make one small mistake - even though we were seated, they first brought our order to-go - oops. They corrected it very quickly, though, and were very gracious about it. They have a wonderful selection of liquors, and under normal circumstances I would have had something, but we were headed to a bar to see a band play right after, so I skipped drinks. But, next time we go, they have some very good bourbons I've wanted to try before but haven't had the chance. I'll be trying them next time.

Had dinner with some friends on their rooftop. This was my first time here and enjoyed myself! I got the boozy horchata with rum and it was not bad until it got warm. I should've just ordered a regular horchata. Ended up choosing the quesorito burrito and it was good! Just a little greasy. Don't expect authentic Mexican food from here. Overall good vibes!

Came by because I was craving TexMex and Chicago has pretty slim pickings. I was craving proper queso and Lonesome Rose was able to deliver. The interior is simple and very casual. There is a outdoor rooftop as well as a patio. Service was pretty slow and very hit or miss (we waited for 5min for a hostess to show up when we arrived, and our waitress had a habit of disappearing for long periods of time). On a weekend afternoon on a beautiful day, there wasn't a wait although the outdoor spaces of the restaurant were pretty lively. Docking a star for the slow service and the prices. Tacos are $6-8 each which seems insane for just getting one. Overall, the food here isn't anything special but if you are looking for the right TexMex flavors this place certainly has the proper options.

Lowkey place, wasn't that crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Decent menu, and great cocktails. I think it's slightly overpriced, but probably just the location.

4* Outdoor seating on March 28 with 70 degrees is always welcome. Seating is limited so there is a wait. They have 2 bars. One in the main floor and the golden tear drop in the "basement" sorta like a speakeasy to keep you entertained. They have some really cool drink choices like boozy horchata with rum or whiskey. We'll take ours with rum please. The food and the service unfortunately is just OK. We got chile con queso, Baja tacos and the dynamite shrimp bowl. All were toned down not to offend anybody, resulting in a somewhat bland execution. The horchata ice cream was more vanilla(too sweet) and less horchata This is really only three stars in my book thus the 4*, but I'm giving it a four because I know the vast majority of the clientele here would like the food and the space is cool. It's just a little too bland for me. Our server was nice but slow to check up on things.

Might be by new fav brunch spot on Chicago... amazing food and service! Also a great place to come with a large group. The breakfast burrito was so on point and one of the best I've ever had! Also absolutely loved the horchata! The menu is very unique and veggie friendly. We also tried the biscuits and gravy which was vegetarian and phenomenal. Will definitely come back!

We decided to take advantage of the warm weather on a Friday afternoon and grab an early dinner outside on the patio. We were able to take advantage of the happy hour appetizer special and decided to split the veggie burrito (it's massive!). Everything was pretty good and our service was great through out. Def a solid spot in Logan!

I had a great time here. I had horchata, Truck Stop Nachos, and chicken pot pie soup. Great flavors from all of them. Place was surprisingly packed, found a quick seat at the bar, and food came out as fast as we could eat it all the same. Very warm vibe.

I've been here a couple times and I really enjoy the food and cocktails! The space is really cute, generally busy especially around happy hour because it's a great deal! Nice outside seating and service is good! Definitely a fun summer spot!

Was visiting my pal in Chicago and she took me here and we ordered a pitcher of tasty margaritas! I ordered THE burrito which was incredible and giant you def will have leftovers. Loved that they were playing old country music and not pop country ! There is a bar in back as well and a rooftop!

We were going to order at the counter, but we were offered paper menus and told we could take a seat in the front area if we'd like to have our coffees there. I ordered the Black Walnut & Honey latte ($7) that was really mild on flavor. My husband had the Crème Brulee latte ($10), which was better but noticeably smaller. The Cinnamon Roll ($8) was fine, but it wasn't worth $8, and it wasn't heated all the way through. Unfortunately, I didn't like the Confit Mushroom Egg & Cheese Sandwich ($6) at all. It wasn't hot, and the smell was a bit off-putting. Despite a lackluster experience, the real disappointment hadn't sunk in yet. When I got home and glanced at our receipt, I realized that they had charged a mandatory additional 20% service fee. I at first thought my husband had unexpectedly left a large tip, but I checked their menu again and saw that it says "For dine in service only: When your bill arrives, it will have a 20% service charge added to the subtotal. This we use to compensate our staff as they deserve for their exceptional work. As such no additional gratuity is expected." I have of course seen this practice done at full service restaurants, but I wasn't expecting this for a café visit simply because we chose to sit and drink our coffees there instead of taking them to go. It was a bit of an awkward space as it was, and we were still going up to the counter to get our food and drinks and carried our plates up when we were done.

I should have ordered 4 of them right off the top but how could we know that it would be a leap year before he'd be back to take our food order? At some point I stood on a table top waving my arms about in semaphoric fashion and ordered more Rose. But I was told they would arrive sometime between 1:00 and 5:00 next Thursday. We still didn't have appetizers but one of the servers kept bringing plates to our table that weren't meant for us and we'd send him away. I now wish we hadn't. The appetizers eventually crawled up the stairs on their own one at a time and made it to our table but the Duck fried rice collapsed at the South Summit and returned to base camp. They should call this place Roofus. The beleaguered manager apologized for the lack of being fed anything of significance and we exited down the stairs through the bakery and past the day old donuts just outside of our reach.
