Love this place. The wedge salad is so beautifully delicious. Coupled with glass of wine and crab beignets and I'm golden!
It is so beautiful in here. My girlfriend and I were obsessed with the aesthetic. The staff is also super nice and the way they make their drinks is truly an artwork. I really enjoyed my espresso martini here and thought it was one of my favorites I've ever tried. My girlfriend loved their drink and thought it was very refreshing. They have unique and clever happy hours too so absolutely check this place out. It's attached to the distillery so be sure to visit there before too. We loved this spot.
A small restaurant and bar serving up fantastic drinks as well as light bites. Note that the bar makes their own soda. A great place to escape the afternoon heat.
They had me with their fresh cut French fries appetizer. So crispy and delicious. The came with an aoili dipping sauce and of course ketchup. The building is extremely cool looking. Windows high up and a very tall room. Our server explained most all the specials to our group of 7. He did a fantastic job.
This was our last stop after 3 days in St Augustine -what a cool venue. Cooper at the bar was the perfect friendly drink bartender-we will be leaving St Augustine with a smile on our face and knowing the people here truly are kind. See you again Cooper!

Holy cannoli this place is a must if you're ever visiting St. Augustine! We checked it out right after The Lightner Museum and it went perfect with our "old town history" theme. Superb service! (Constantly refilling water glasses, very efficient between ordering and serving, the flavor was out of the park) We got the Pimento Cheese for an app, 1/2 lb. burger with truffle fries and an espresso martini. I've had better truffle fries, but that was the only negative thing we could think of. It felt like we took a time travel machine and enjoyed linner for a bit, we also did the Bourbon tour after which was also a great experience! So cool how its all connected. Deff recommend - its worth the experience, and the food and drinks tasted like craft food. (Which makes sense because its farm to table!)
Service was spot on and with seating and drink to immediately follow. Good job in maintaining the rustic look of the old Ice Plant and very clean. Very limited menu, in my eyes. Maybe Ok for the tourist, looking for a bit more above beyond. I know it is St Augustine, but compared to some other places we found it to have "Tourist Prices". Food had no WOW factor and I found the batter on the Flounder Special to be over salted and the mixed greens salad with brown edges. Thank you, but No Thank You.
Must try when visiting Old St Augustine... one of the reasons we're purchasing a home here. Food is excellent, great atmosphere, and too notch service. Definitely do the tour if it's your first visit.
My wife and I have visited The Ice Plant several times over the years, and it remains one of our favorite dining destinations in St. Augustine. The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.
Jasmine our server was the absolute best. Explained the differences between the drink selections!! I ended up with the Moscow Mule, my wife enjoyed her Old Fashioned, our friends had an Espresso Martini, and a Mary Taylor glass of wine! We shared a burger with Muenster aioli!! All good. I'd post more but we had such a good time I forgot to take pictures!!!
We walked in fairly early, around 4:45 on a Saturday eve. It looked pretty packed. The hostess greets. We said we'd try to find something at one of their 3 bars, after a quick walk around, we decided to get a table. It is a very cool historical place which has multi levels. Love old bars like this. We ordered the crab beignets. Our server, Sam did forward us that they were very filling. We hasn't eaten all day so we thought we could handle 4 and split an entree. The crab beignets were fried and full of crab, very good but next time 2 will be fine. We shared a pasta and rockshrimp dish with saffron . It was excellent. The shrimp was amazing. I ordered a "red corvette " cocktail which was good, maybe a little on the sweet side. Ambience: 5 Service: 4 Food: 4
Stopped here to grab drinks prior to our anniversary dinner. I was excited because while I've been to the distillery downstairs, I hadn't been to The Ice Plant. We scored a front row parking spot and entered the building. You're greeted by a hostess stand and a set of stairs. We decided to just go up to the bar and grab a drink. I love the interior. It's industrial warehousey vibe (I know warehousey isn't a word). We sat at the bar and I checked out the cocktail menu. After seeing the interesting choices, I opted to go with my old reliable, a lemon drop martini. You may wonder why I always get a lemon drop because one, they make me really happy, two, if made right, they're beyond delicious, and three, I always like to see/taste the differences how other bartenders make it. The lemon drop was made with great care, a perfectly sugared rim and a tart and sweet taste. One of the best lemon drops I've had. They were so good I had two. My husband opted for a Bud Light (FYI, they don't have beer on tap, so you're getting a tall boy can) and then went for a coke and a spiced rum. Please note, they don't have regular Coke or Pepsi, they use their own syrup and soda water. Our bartenders were friendly and checked up on us multiple times. Driving back to Miami we needed to spend a night in St Augustine. And decided to check out this place. SO GOOD! The ambiance is super nice like an old factory, the dinning area is upstairs with a nice dim light. If you're you MUST have a drink, they make their own syrups, cola and ginger beer. Since I'm not drinking alcohol I tried their watermelon and it was absolutely amazing!! It came on a martini glass, a bit sweet and fruity with a nice spicy kick. I had de pork Shank Osso Bucco and OMG! So freaking delicious the meat will melt from the bone, it came with a delicious rice and portion was very big! My boyfriend had the burger and it was great too. For dessert we had an spicy chocolate brownie with raspberry ice cream and again delicious. The brownie was creamy and soft and the ice cream balances very well the spiciness of it. read more

We LOVE the Ice Plant! It is a staple every time we visit St Augustine! The vibes are amazing! The food and drinks are amazing! We are always greeted with smiling faces and inventive bartenders! This time we decided to have our engagement photos done in the bar as well as the shared distillery downstairs. The staff was accommodating and helpful in every way you can imagine! SKILLET FRIED CHICKEN & Hot cakes were not awful nor something to rant about. Collard greens were very good. I get everyone is matching pancakes and waffles, but my thoughts, trying to hide a basic (chicken and gravy) For $29, eat at a diner. SWEET PEA GNOCCHETTI SARDI, um Yes, At $27 this is a dish that is worth tasting. Lastly the LOCAL ROCK SHRIMP CEVICHE was metza metza! Easy on the salt!, did the cap fall off! Come on! I met up with my best friend who I haven't seen in over 10 years here because she hadn't been here before so figured to give it a try!!! The wait for a table is rather long, but a lot of people end up leaving or doing the whiskey tour so the wait for a table upstairs isn't very long at all. There's also a very extensive gift shop that will have you tasting whiskeys and other drinks that they have Available, also taste testing is FREEEEE!! Anyways , Our waiter was the most awkward and adorable person we've encountered. He was authentically himself and we appreciated that! Now real talk ... THE FOOD NOW let me tell you, I was highly disappointed in finding out they have a lunch menu and a completely different dinner menu I kept seeing how good the blue crab benneits are but that's on their dinner menu. HOWEVER!! I ordered the chicken smothered in gravy with hoe cakes and collard greens. Now, I've NEVER had collard greens and was expecting to give those to my mom, BUT THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD!! Super flavorful and absolutely amazing! The fried chicken SMOTHERED in gravy was STILLLLLL CRUCHY!! It was absolutely amazing. Eclectic industrial atmosphere inside an old distillery with high ceilings and metal table tops. Spacious bar features a giant round mirror as a centrepiece. Stopped in for Sunday brunch on our road trip from Jacksonville back to South Florida. Mimosas were prepared perfectly with mostly champagne and a just a splash of OJ. Just the way I like them We shared a couple of BLUE CRAB BEIGNETS as an appetiser. They were fluffy and light. I had the BROKEN-YOLK EGGWICH- a thick English muffin layered with thin sliced pancetta and and a poached egg and boyfriend had DAVE'S HUEVOS BENEDICTINOS with BBQ pork on top of fried corn bread. Both dishes were served with home made fried potatoes. They were very well prepared but I wish protein portions were more generous and there was a bit more arugula/veggies. Our server was nice and attentive, food and drinks came out on time. Great place, definitely a recom! read more
This was my second trip to St Augustine but first time here. I wish I had been able to experience this place the first time!!! We actually came here 2 times during our 3-day stay. The first time was this past Thursday for Happy Hour. HH was from 230-5p and the $7 margarita was beverage of choice. It was PERFECT and no sour mix (I despise sour mix!). My husband had the old fashioned and he loved it. There was also the Horse and Buggy for $7 which is a shot of Fernet (which, according to our hilarious bartenders, is Jager who grew up and went to college) and a Moosehead lager. The Moosehead wasn't cold yet so they served with a PBR. Instead of Fernet, you could also choose Forrester instead. For food, because we were only hanging out for HH, we ordered the Pimento Cheese. OH. MY. GOSH. GET THE PIMENTO CHEESE. The garlic bread was AMAZING and the pimento cheese was smooth (not chunky) and so full of flavor. It's house-made and unbelievably delicious. If you get one food item, make it this one! We returned this past Saturday for brunch. There were 12 of us and we were served by Alexandro and his wife. They were amazing! So funny, sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Made our experience relaxing and enjoyable, exactly how brunch should be! We ordered the Pimento cheese (see above) and I had the broken yolk sandwich. Everything was delicious, and came out hot and flavorful. My friends and I also split the Pamplemousse punch bowl! It was awesome and refreshing. Alessandro told us it was "very balanced" (not too sweet) and he was right! I also had a mimosa which again, was perfect. I just had a wonderful lunch at the Ice Plant. Gina was our server and was so friendly. She was very knowledgeable and sweet. Gina helped us decide on menu items -- everything was delicious!! My husband had the grilled fish sandwich, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. Even the French fries were tasty. I ordered the shrimp with middlins (similar to shrimp & grits). The broth had such a wonderful flavor -- similar to chorizo. The portion sizes are very generous. We could not finish everything. Make sure you don't miss out on this restaurant (one of the trolley tour stops next to a distillery). read more
Great place. First got a few free sips of alcohol on the distillery tour. Then moved on to the gift shop. Then to the bar. And lastly, the restaurant. Loved the fried chicken with the hoe cakes (baby pancakes) and collard greens (omg so good, maybe get a second order of the collard greens..). The drinks were superb. I loved No Reservations. Creamy. Sweet. Spicy. The pork sandwich was spicy and delicious. The burger was just ok. I was surpised. Maybe it is because i ordered it medium and it came nearly well done. I did not complain cause i was too hungry to wait for it to be made again, but they should not have made that mistake to begin with. Shame on them!!! Anyway, i will go back. This place was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! My favorite meal of our entire trip! The decor and ambiance were great. When we arrived there was an hour and a half wait, but it was well worth the wait! We waited at the bar, where they had a list of specialty drinks. While waiting I saw the bartender making a drink with egg white and was curious so had to ask what it was. It was a whiskey sour and he explained why they used the egg white and that it was a traditional way of making them. My go to drink is usually an Amaretto Sour, and I once had someone tell me I had never had a real Amaretto sour if I didn't have it with the egg white, so I ordered one. WOW! They were right. It was by far the best one I have ever had! All of the drinks we tried were great, including the Aku Aku Lapu, Lust For Life and Island in the Sun. When we were seated, it was fairly dark at the table. We would have preferred a little more lighting, but the decor was great and seating comfortable. Our friends ordered the Shrimp and Risotto and the Short Rib meal, which they thoroughly enjoyed. My boyfriend got the Shrimp and Risotto as well, which he let me try. It was delicious. But I must say I thought my meal was better. The fresh fish of the day was Mahi, which was seasoned perfectly and pan seared. The vegetables were seasoned perfectly and so tasty. The polenta was delicious and when paired with the fish was a perfect compliment to the meal. The service was friendly. The meal came quickly after ordering. All in all a wonderful experience and well worth the wait. The bar and drinks made it seem like barely a wait at all! read more

We were here early hoping to get an outside spot for some food but it turns out they have just a few bar stools on their covered patio so not a really good set up for dining. We decided to just grab a table in the huge indoor space of this former ice factory. They have an early bird happy hour from 2:30-5pm. We ordered a couple drinks the Bees Knee and a Gypsy Tumbler both were $7 (much cheaper than the regular specialty drinks which are almost double that price). My Gypsy was so good I had a second. Since it was early only the lunch menu was available which was fine with us. We started with their pimento cheese spread on garlic toast which was very good - actually the favorite part of our meal. My wife got the shrimp ceviche which was good but a bit spicy for her given it was loaded with jalapeños (which she picked out). I got the skillet fryed chicken recommended by the waitress. It was very good and surprisingly not dry for breast meat. I really liked the corn meal pancakes with the apricot butter that came with the chicken. Our waitress was very attentive and professional. If you are in St Augustine and looking for craft drinks, do yourself a favor and go straight to the Ice Plant. They have a great happy hour and their staff is awesome. On this trip, we enjoyed a fantastic margarita and a rye old fashioned. Both were made perfect and we ended up having a couple of each. To top it all off, their food menu is full of amazing options (do not hesitate to get the pimento cheese dip). I highly recommend visiting The Ice Plant Bar as soon as you can to enjoy a terrific atmosphere and experience. read more

Love this atmosphere although it was a little loud. The decor is of hard wood floor and booths with large window panes. The restaurant had a steady influx of friends, families and couples. The Brunch menu is relatively small with appetizers, entree choices and nice selection of cocktails. We started with some cocktails and we cant remember the name of one of them but it was refreshing. I had the the Bonal Paloma made with a French liqueur, grapefruit, lemon and sparkling water. Loved this drink and the staff was knowledgeable because I had not heard of Bonal. Next was entrees the broken yolk eggwich was a house made muffin, ham, cheddar and potatoe hash. My daughter enjoyed it and it was presented well. Next was the fried chicken, collards and hoe cakes with apricot butter. Loved the presentation of this dish and chicken was moist and well seasoned. The collards had good flavor and it was our 1st time tasting hoe cakes. These were mini pancakes but they were not as light as pancakes but tasty. I had the Eggs Benedict l, with mushrooms, sherry bearnaise sauce and this was full of flavor and a pretty dish. Enjoyed this restsurant and plan to return with our next visit to St Augustine. read more
Came here late on a Thursday night and boy am I happy I did. My mom randomly found The Ice Plant and we got there around 9pm - you climb stairs to get to the restaurant (there is an elevator). There are 2 bars upstairs - the vibe of it is super cool, dimly lit and industrial like. I'll admit the name of the place threw me off a bit but the food was outstanding. I ordered the octopus (so good and very filling!) but the real winner was my moms burger...omg. it was ground beef and ground brisket...it had SO much flavor. We also ordered both of the non-alcoholic mocktail options which were also very tasty, highly recommend. The boys behind the bar were sweet and very good about recommending dishes and making sure we had everything for our meals. 10/10 - definitely a spot to check out while in St. Augustine. Lots of locals love it too. read more

This place was okay. While all my friends loved it and seemed to rave about it all weekend, it left a lot to be desired in my book. If I were giving this spot a rating based on the location and ambiance alone, it would easily receive 5 stars. This restaurant is on the second floor of what was once an actual ice plant. The first floor now houses a distillery, which offers tours and tastings and they have a rather extensive gift shop to peruse. Very, very cool. Our waiter was pleasant enough, however, it felt like we did go through several lulls waiting for our drink orders, refills, and the eventual serving of the food. While their drink menu is rather extensive, if you are headed here for the food, you are rather limited on your choices. I ended up going for an eggplant parmesan that ended up being riddled with whole chilis inside, making it very hard to eat due to the spiciness. This may be just a "me" thing, but the eggplant was rather peculiar as well. It was very soft and soggy and hardly had any flavor to it. Although, maybe this is just how eggplant tastes. The tables were wide and spacious, however, we had called ahead and made a reservation, as we had a particularly large group. When on the phone, the staff member assured us we would be seated together. Upon arrival, our group was split in half and seated at two separate booths. While technically we were next to each other, the booths were so large, we may have well not been sat together at all. All in all, this spot was just okay for me. If you are in it for the drinks, they have an extensive menu, a seemingly full service bar, and a distillery down below. May return just to tour the distillery. read more

Yum yum yum - have no regrets going here This used to be an old ice plant and they def keep the inside still inspired by that. All of the drinks have different ice and are delicious. The staff is very nice here the food is hands down one of my favorite spots we went to on our trip to St. Augustine. The crab beignets I'm still dreaming about lol. Def worth the stop! read more
Love this restaurant! It was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! From their amazing food to their delicious dessert to the their super strong cocktails and a plus if you are a whisky/bourbon lover right beneath the restaurant there's a distillery! 2 complete different businesses but excellent addition! We started off our day with a couple of cocktails. Definitely strong which it's a very good thing! We had many dishes as we shared them all. * Smoked Local Fish Dip was to die for! Would definitely come back for more! * Blue Crab Beignet was definitely a HUGE WINNER for me! I could eat this anytime of the day! So good! * Skillet Fried Chicken & Hoecakes it's definitely a MUST ORDER! Fried Chicken was extra crispy which is always a good sign that it is made to perfection. The apricot butter was very different but excellent and you can actually taste the apricot infusion to it. * Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese was spectacular! Beef Short Rib was extra tender and full of flavors. Brioche bread was definitely done right! Big portions! * "Dutch Baby" Pancake was divine! Huge pancake for sure and their roasted pear in between was ultimately delicious! Their Pomegranate Meringue needed more infusion to it; lack of flavor. It was our dessert for the day. * Porchetta Sandwich had different flavors in each bite! Loved it! Rosemary Focaccia was perfect! Highly Recommended! read more

Are dogs allowed?
We did not see a one. Some of the breakfast places had outside seating and folks had dogs The layout of this place would be a little challenging…
Current happy hour menu & prices?
They do have a happy hour with drink specials. Usually wonderful cocktails & when I've been they had old fashion so that's def the time to get one for the price. Honestly unsure about food but we've eaten there and it's delicious.
Is it pet friendly?
Yes. I saw an outside patio and someone had there dog with them
Is there parking on site?
There is plenty of parking and the old town trolley has a stop there.
Do they take reservations?
They do not take reservations so if you're going for happy hour or dinner, get there early or be prepared to wait at least 45 mins to an hour or more.
Visiting for the weekend. Family friendly including kids?
Ice Plant is primarily a bar, BUT their menu has items that will appeal to middle schoolers and above. Would not recommend for preschoolers and K-3. The rest - depends on their maturity.
No reservations? How busy does it get on a weekday for lunch? Is it crazy?
Weekends def get there before they open. We stayed across the street so we just strolled over at 9:50am and got sat right at 10 when they opened. The place does fill up fast so I would say the sooner the better. It is first come first serve.
Do they still serve the Sherry Cobbler cocktail?
I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I didn't notice a difference in their cocktails offered since Covid began. You can call to be sure, but regardless, you'd get a great drink no matter what you order.
Is this a dog friendly establishment?
Dogs allowed on their patio downstairs but you would have to go upstairs to the restaurant and order at the bar and have your food brought down to you. Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant.
Do they make a Bramble? Gin, Lemon juice, creme du mure?
Of course they do. If someone named it, they make it.
I noticed there are stairs leading to the front entrance. Is there a wheelchair-accessible entrance anywhere? A ramp?
I'm almost positive there is an elevator by the bathrooms. I can't imagine they designed it without being ADA compliant.
Do you have Monday night happy hours?
Yes! We arrived just before 5 when Happy Hour ends.
Is it all ages or 21+? (not looking to take youngsters but possibly teens)
It is all ages. They have an extensive bar menu but you don't have to drink, of course, and kids and minors are welcome, just like any other restaurant.
Do they have brunch?
YES. It's amazing. Great southern, filling options at fair prices! See my review for photos of brunch!! Tip- eat brunch then take a free tour of the distillery where you will get free samples of alcohol.
