a neon sign above a door

Came here to see a show during my last trip to South Lake. The venue was alright, but nothing special. The staff was nice and helpful. One annoying thing, however, was that we were seating on the right side facing the stage, near the door. Throughout the show people, would leave the room to go use the bathroom outside, but the door would lock behind them so people locked out would just start knocking on the door. As you can imagine, that is distracting when you are trying to watch a comedy show. No staff member was stationed by the door to open it, so audience members kept getting up to let each person back in. Seems an easy fix would be to unlock the door, or keep someone staffed there throughout the show to make sure the door is opened when it needs to be. Other than that, it was nice that there was no drink requirement and the local comic who MC'ed was pretty funny. The headliners were good too, and change every few days, so I would check it out again next time I come to town...I would just sit far from the door.

WTF?! This was the worst comedy show that I have ever been to. The opening guy was ok, the second woman was horrible! We didn't laugh once. The headliner was just as bad and we walked out along with several other people

I went to Improv last night and saw Gene Pompa, John Camponera and a great female MC. All three were fantastic, I hope they come back.

Chipper Lowell, the magician was super energetic, funny and impressive in his magic tricks as well as showmanship. The theater is a small cozy place where every seat feels like front seat. The show was super interactive and he involved and genuinely engaged with nearly everyone in the audience. The jokes were funny but yet very clean and family friendly. We all had a good time and would highly recommend. The location of the theater is super convenient in the Heavenly shoppes location and you could park in the parking lot across the street for 2 hours. We didn't purchase any food at the theater since we just had a late lunch. No outside food is allowed.

I initially purchased tickets for our group through Groupon over a month in advance, only to learn after purchasing that the venue had a policy not stated on Groupon which required in-person Groupon Voucher redemption. Since they told me they also couldn't reserve seats over the phone to guarantee our preferred seating together, the venue offered to initiate a Groupon refund so I could book direct. We both assumed that the Groupon refund would be straightforward, but after a few weeks went by with no refund, I reached out to Groupon support directly to which they seemed to have no knowledge of the approved refund. It then took several more weeks and a long thread of back-and fourth emails with Groupon's support to reach a resolution. Although the Loft management was empathetic and supportive to the situation, I did most of the heavy lifting and spent so much of my time driving the follow-up with Groupon. Ultimately, Groupon only offered a partial refund, but the Loft management stepped in and honored my initial request and the box office staff seamlessly sorted everything out for us on the night of the show. Although in the end it was resolved, all of the difficulty and loss of my time spent securing the tickets could have been easily avoided if the Groupon policies had been clear (which management acknowledged they will update moving forward), or if the box office could have just reserved the seats for our party in advance. Overall, despite the difficulty getting the tickets secured, the staff at The Loft proved they truly care about their guests and turned the experience around. Every single staff member we interacted with throughout the night was accommodating, professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. As for the venue itself, it has a really modern, upscale, and well-decorated aesthetic that sets a great mood the moment you walk in. The show, including the magician Robert Hall and his assistant were highly engaging and entertaining which ultimately made the whole night worth it. Our group had a bachelorette who had the best time and she even participated in in the show which had some crowd interactive moments so that was really fun for her.

I had to stop the flooding myself, getting soaked in dirty water contaminated with urine and feces. Reaching anyone for help was nearly impossible--the front desk and operator didn't answer, and housekeeping took 10 minutes to pick up. After engineering temporarily repaired the toilet that was on its way out, housekeeping barely cleaned the bathroom. They wiped up the visible mess with towels but never mopped or disinfected the area, despite us traveling with children and a baby. I went down to speak with the front desk manager, Kayla Smith at 5:00 a.m. after losing an entire night's sleep, the only compensation she offered was some resort credit. I asked for a late checkout so we could at least get some rest, but I was told the hotel was "fully booked" and couldn't accommodate the request. On a Monday, that explanation was difficult to believe and felt like an excuse rather than a genuine attempt to help. Beyond the great location, the property feels old, poorly maintained, and unclean. Between the lack of responsiveness, inadequate cleanup, and poor customer service, I can't recommend staying at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. There are better options nearby.

Firstly, they are dog-friendly. We have two labs, below the weight limit, and this is one of the few spots where dogs are welcome. They can even be left unattended, as long as they are crated and don't bark or disrupt other guests. The dog policy is very fair. There's no designated pet relief areas, but out by the parking garage is a lot of space where they can do their business. So, being dog-friendly is the reason we chose the hotel. But they also have an indoor pool, and it's actually a really good pool for kids and families! The pool area is not showing its age--it's kept up well and also has a lifeguard! Public areas of the resort ARE showing their age. For example, carpets and wallpaper could be replaced. But I feel like that's all Tahoe hotels, right? We had a king room on the 10th floor, and there was plenty of space to fit our dog crate. The room and bathroom were decently updated. Not grody like other people have experienced. Huge shower. We also had a very nice view of the lake from the window.

The woman who checked us out in the morning was especially outstanding. Unfortunately, the hotel's operations just weren't on the same level. When we checked in, our room only had bath towels. We called asking for hand towels and washcloths. Then we called again. Then again. Then one more time. Four phone calls over about four hours...and when someone finally showed up, they brought us three more bath towels. We never did get any hand towels or washcloths. The Wi-Fi was up and down all day and was pretty unreliable even when it worked. We left our Do Not Disturb sign on until around 11:00 a.m., removed it before heading out for the day, and came back to find the room had never been cleaned. The self-parking was another frustration. Neither our room key nor the parking key ever worked at the exit gate, so every time we left we had to use the call button and ask someone to raise the gate. The last straw came on checkout morning. We took one load of luggage to the car and came back for the rest a few minutes later, only to find our room keys had already been deactivated. We went to the front desk, but there wasn't anyone there. Security couldn't help and told us someone should arrive in five to ten minutes. It ended up being about twenty minutes before anyone showed up. While we were waiting, another couple came down because there key didn't work on the parking garage and no one was there to let them out. They were trapped. None of these problems alone would have ruined the stay. Together, though, they gave us the impression that the hotel is struggling to provide good customer service That's unfortunate, because the rooms are genuinely nice and the staff we met were excellent. If management can get the day-to-day operations running as well as the property itself, this could be a really good place to stay.

I ordered a drink for $22 that tasted good, but overall, the drinks here are just way too expensive for what you get. They also had live music playing during our visit; it was good lounge background music that added a nice vibe to the room, but it wasn't anything spectacular or something to get overly excited about. It's a cool spot to check out for the ambiance, but the high drink prices keep it at a flat three stars for me.
