    Appetizer platter
    Heather A.

Fantastic meal! The appetizer platter was delicious and our waiter was kind enough to explain what we were trying. It was delicious. We had the butter chicken and chicken curry, they were both fantastic and very flavorful. The naan could have been more garlicky but was still good! Only downside was it did take a bit to get our food but again once it came out, it was delicious! Very spacious area!

We went to dinner with no intentions of getting Indian food but the other place was closed. We didn't even know there was an Indian place in the area so we decided to stop in and omg am I glad we did!!!! My favorite Indian place closed years ago in the north towns and haven't found a decent place until now. I had lamb biryani and my husband had the chicken vindaloo. The herbs in biryani were so delicious, the meat was so tender, and it had a slight spice- so good. The vindaloo was so so so creamy and the flavor was just right. We both devoured our plates and could've licked the plates clean. I also washed it down with a mango lassi. The cook/owner came out with samples of her dessert that were so delicious. I would've ordered some but I was so deliciously full I couldn't breathe haha. Cannot wait to go back!!!

My husband and I came here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We were greeted upon entering and sat in a booth. The waiter was friendly and offered recommendations. We tried the mango and strawberry lassi. They were refreshing and good to cool your palate with the spicy meal. To start we had the aloo tiki as an appetizer which had great flavor and a side dipping sauce we really liked. I had the chicken biryani and my husband had the goat curry. Both were packed with flavor. We got a side of garlic naan to go with it, highly recommend!! I'm someone who likes "mildly spicy" and I was good with mine. The waiter was very helpful with guiding us. There is a fun floor seating table in the dining room for a unique experience! Overall we will definitely be repeat customers and will encourage others to try Indian Bistro! The food was flavorful, portions were great, prices were on point, wait was minimal, service was friendly and welcoming and we left happy! They put a lot of effort into their restaurant and it shows!!

Now I'm already anxious to head over to their restaurant. Typically, I'm not someone who orders rice dishes, but their tandoori chicken completely changed my mind. The sauce tied everything together beautifully and made the whole dish incredibly flavorful. I can't wait to bring my gluten-free mom there because I know she'll love it too. I also had the chance to try their vegetable samosa -- a delicious crispy fried pastry filled with a savory potato and veggie mixture. It honestly reminded me of a flavorful Indian-style stuffing. I would absolutely order both again. Great service at the stand, friendly staff, and they truly know how to make comforting Indian cuisine.

I ordered the chicken swarma and some garlic cheese naan to go with it. It was SO MUCH FOOD!!! The naan was prepared perfectly. I was able to throw my swarma on top of the naan and fold it up perfectly with no rips to make my own wrap. Game changer. They even gave me extra sauces for everything. I was so full and STILL had leftovers! Super friendly staff when we picked it up, Our order was prepared quick and, the affordable menu had a lot of options. The vibes here were on point. We will definitely be going back for more soon!

Flavors Indian Restaurant just off Main Street in the heart of Canandaigua is quite the find for…read moreIndian cuisine in the Finger Lakes region. It is located in an older strip mall that has seen better days. The interiors are a bit dark and could use brighter lighting. While the inside isn't fancy, the restaurant was still well decorated and clean, and most importantly, serves up tasty and flavorful food. They also have an array of Indian snacks and drinks available for purchase/take out, which was a nice touch because they probably aren't readily available in the general area. To start off, we went with the vegetable bhajia (3.5/5) which were good, but would have preferred they made them a little crispier. For meals, we went the paneer makhani and vegetable muglai (both 4.5/5). Both dishes had gravies of high quality, which I wasn't expecting in the Finger Lakes area, as they could go toe to toe with quality Indian restaurants you find in the NJ/PA area. The naan (5/5) was fluffy and delicious as well. The service (I think by the owner) was warm and friendly. There weren't many customers which had us concerned a bit, but he explained that most of the restaurants in Canandaigua have an early dinner crowd and also tend to close early as most locals don't dine out very late. They do automatically add an 18% service charge, which we didn't mind as prices for everything were very reasonable and we probably would have tipped more than that anyway cause of the satisfying experience. Overall, I'd the restaurant a 4.5 out of 5, and would recommend Flavors for quality Indian cuisine in Canandaigua. I wouldn't hesitate to return here for a meal should my travels bring me back to the Finger Lakes.
