Mango Lassi. I paid $7 for this...

I'm honestly disappointed with this place. It's trying to be a cafe but has the weird slower pace of a restaurant. You have no access to any electrical charging of your devices, the food prices has dramatically shot up in price, service is slow, and the whole interior looks awkward. The employees barely speak English as well so you have to repeat yourself a lot. It's a really mediocre place and the worse part is that it's intentional being so lackluster. I'll stick with Mexican food for now. More meat and less hassle.

Service was passable. Food was okay. The atmosphere reminded me of a takeout place. The food was a little expensive for the portion size. 2 samosas was $5, $8 with meat. The butter chicken we got was great but again the portions were rather small. We also got the goat biryanis which was a little salty for my taste, but the portion was a little better. The butter and garlic naan was probably the best. All of this cost around $70. Side note there is no spice level which kind of threw me off. Okay Indian food at tourist prices.

The food and service were over the top. I have to have Chicken Tika Masala when I try a new Indian place, theirs ranks 5 out of 5 stars. The sauce was plentiful and full of flavor, the chicken was tender and tasty, some places it's a little dry, not here! I was asked how spicy I wanted it, I Like that alot, since I share with my wife, medium heat was required. The garlic naan was just right and was enhanced being dipped into the masala sauce. The veggie samosas were large and very tasty, lot's of veggie filling inside a nice crisp crust. We tried a "new to us" item, a veggie pakora, onion to be exact, onion Bujia......where has this been all my life?! Yum. A short walk from our hotel led us to Indian cuisine nirvana.

I'd been to The Indian Night during my last trip to San Antonio and had a great meal, so I was excited to return this time. Unfortunately, the quality seems to have gone way downhill. The first issue was when I was seated and given water, the glass was very dirty. I asked for a clean glass, and they brought out a disposable plastic cup. I guess all the glasses were dirty? The food was also not nearly as good as the last time I was here. The samosas were dry and came with only one chutney in a squeeze bottle, which didn't look good. The naan was flat. The chicken korma I ordered was decently flavored, but the chicken itself was overcooked. I'm disappointed because the food was so good earlier this year. Hopefully they can turn things around.

Good location. Nice menu. Loved their Aloo Naan, our first time having this variety so it was quite nice. Vege Korma was pretty good. Daal Tadka was too "dissolved" or meshed, not that good. We have had better Daal elsewhere. Seating area is small and a little cramped for a family.

They have great flavors and everything taste truly homemade. I really like the tikka masala, paneer, and the keema naan. My favorite, is their Samosas!! It looks family owned because I've seen the same 3/4 people working. Quality choice for Togo food that's yummy and fresh!

Chicken tikka masala, plain rice & garlic naan.

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

Note, you can ask to add salmon, chicken, or chicken sausage to anything We started with the Cilantro Coconut Guacamole, which was such a unique combo with blackberries and mesquite tortillas. We also started out by trying their soup of the day which was a Brazilian recipe and it was SO good. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. As far as entrees we ordered the Spice Route Beets were vibrant and flavorful. We added salmon on the side. We also ordered the Pharm Kitchari (with chicken sausage added) was wholesome and well balanced. Oh and the vanilla bean mesquite latte is sooo darn delicious. I had two and still want more. Smooth, slightly smoky, and not too sweet. If you want food that tastes clean, fresh, and delicious, this spot is a must.

I got the chicken tenders and they were flavorful, juicy, and seasoned really well with a crisp, golden coating that had a great crunch without being greasy. Every bite tasted fresh and satisfying. The setting at the Bottling Department adds to the experience too, with a lively food hall vibe that makes it easy to relax, hang out, and enjoy a casual meal in the heart of the Pearl. The breading actually has flavor, not just crunch. They serve it with a spicy ranch that has a nice kick, plus pickles on top that add a little tang and balance everything out. The mac and cheese was bold. Very seasoned, definitely not bland. It leans more on the saucy side than thick and creamy, with a roux-style texture. For me, it was flavorful but slightly on the salty side. Overall: Really good lunch and absolutely worth trying, especially if you're at the Pearl and want something quick but satisfying. Bonus points for being Black- and woman-owned. Would I come back? Yes. Those tenders alone are enough to run it back.
